The head of the game thought that having no progress whatsoever and replaying existing leveling content being super exciting was the formulae to success .ahh who cares this negative crap gets deleted anyhow

I’am purely speculating here but,I seriously cannot believe Arenanet Punched in a less than 2% chance for a halloween item .
I see today players are seeming to get drops from reported reasonable amounts of chests opened .
So here is my theory ,When they implemented the patch the drop rates were incorrect ,and players eager to get halloween items jumped into the gem store and kept spending believing that they would eventually get something and be the first to wear the new items .
By the time Arena net realised the issue many had posted that they in some cases had spent 50,70 even $100 + ,remember every one these items were cosmetic only costumes ,they spent the money to get into the spirit of the event they did it purely to have fun ,and support their favourite game developer.
I feel Arenanet may have now altered the drop rate but cannot publicly announce their was a bug initially .
These loyal customers whether right or wrong feel negatively after this experience .

Whether the drop rate was or was not intentional at 1.8% I think the community even the fan sites agree that was not appropriate for a fun cosmetic halloween costume with no real usefulness at any other time of the year .

I did not purchase a key but I can understand how betrayed these individuals feel ,I personally believe that to rectify the good faith these players had I would publish the bug if it is one and apply the correct drop rate then calculate based on the amount of gems spent on keys how many of the halloween related items you intended them to receive .
It would surprise me very much if Arena net really did intend that players spending more than say $15 would not receive anything let alone those that spent a reported $100 + in gems .
I do not believe every post I read but when one of your fansites "gamebreakertv " has a presenter broadcast in a very nice way that she purchased 70 keys and received no halloween related items and while she says she is really happy she will never fall for it again ,it certainly supports the posts here on the forum .
Please admit and release information that the drop rate was indeed a mistake and give these players the correct keys with the correct drop rate coded in .

I sincerely believe anything less will hurt the game in the longer term .
This post is meant with the best of intentions and it’s intention is to offer a solution ,this game has the foundations of something great I would hate to see the feelings this has created ruin the potential.

I,agree that items in general will be available as you say ,but the flaw in your thinking is that the complaints are referring to players wanting Halloween specific items ,for a short time event .
By your thought process you may not even get a key to drop before the event was over never mind the fact that you can reportedly buy 100 keys and receive absolutely nothing ,can you see now why there are so many complaints ?

I’am starting to understand the gem thing ,you can take part in stuff for free with 2 attacks that are probably a little weak ,by dipping into a pot or,
You can purchase gems that give you the real costumes with full bars of attacks and the neccesarry power to pawn .
If this is correct then thats cool but communicating this clearly like " in the game you have access to everything free ,but because we obviously need to make money ,the real stuff is purchasable for cash .
Now that’s honest and I would have no issue paying for anything at all .
I would know up front that if I play casual and am not competitive then Arenanet will let me access the content for the experience ,I would also know that if I want to be more serious and competitive I will buy stuff with gems that will likely add up to a variable sub fee again this is perfect for me .
So why all the BS??

I logged in saw the pumpkin head and giant orange circle .
I sipped from a cauldron and fought other players for a few minutes .
I saw the broken stairway in the centre .
I collected a mail with some candy corn and a scanner with 4 modes on .
I read the book clue ,figured it was to do with sewers ,swam all around lions arch ,ran all around lions arch ,found nothing with the scanner and used up the inital candy corn ,the only thing I found with the scanner was the invisible girl stood beside the npc which I identified by here name tag over her head when other players moved away .

I read on a third party site that Dulfy had a guide up already ,so I skimmed the detailed walk through but thought well this is most likely how most are going to do it and that’s bollocks and given what rewards we are likely to get ,if it’s not going to be fun and there are no rewards then just enjoy the scenery and continue doing what I was doing the day before .

My post early last week about the potential gem scam got deleted but this is an attempt at feedback take or leave it .
I’am not unhappy because I had no expectations apart from gem purchasable stuff so it’s working as intended and I’am queued for wvw not really sure why except boredom at 80.

There is nothing at lvl 80 so just have fun doing what you enjoy ,basically work through your story and lvl 80 represents the level at which it is comfortable to finish it at .

Then you can experience another story on a second character and do some pvp or dungeons or craft or use you lvl 80 to make some currency or gear to help your family of alts .
Enjoy the levelling content because the level 80 stuff is mostly bugged or broken and stay that way for a long time ,there are events at 80 that stay unplayable for a week maybe more .
The final dungeon arah is currently closed .
One of the most reliable chains at 80 involving Plink is still broken after a week .
I think the posts pointing to these issues are mostly removed or quickly closed so I hope you read this.
Just enjoy the levelling because that is the game .

After reading various forums ,It seems the players loved the game ,but after reaching level 80 they felt there was no obvious challenge or further fun things to do so they simply returned to other games with well defined goals .

I think this title could be called an adventure ,since there is no real challenge that numbers cannot overcome while levelling ,which games should have to give you the feeling of accomplishment .

We all like to feel rewarded for our efforts no matter how virtual they are ,in my opinion this game would be great with at least something of value as a reward for overcoming a challenge ,currently I know I feel deflated after overcoming any encounter only to recieve a small amount of currency and some random items that you rarely would equip at 80 so once you experience these a couple times your basically done .

There are some things that frustrate me and I just wonder if more experienced players feel this way .
I feel like when i go in there anything I do does not feel like an accomplishment as most things you do such as buying seige equipment and spending the time to erect it or upgrade your keep can and is taken so quickly .

I wonder if other players would feel happier if once you upgraded one of your servers structures it stays upgraded and is obviously more valued ,to be defended and to be attacked until the match is reset at the weekly or whatever is decided to be the reset and rematch .?

At least when you purchase upgrades for your structures you can see your contribution every time you enter the zone until reset .
I know passionate players that have spend time and lots of gold striving to fight for there server only to come in the next day and it was all for nothing .

At least if your tower was taken with all your upgrades in place organising and focusing on retaking it would be much more satisfying knowing all your previous hard work is still intact.

Just a thought to give players a feeling of accomplishment even if it is only for a week .
We do not get much feedback from devs so unless any of the above is implemented we will never know what they thought .

Why not let the players decide ?
Make life easy for yourself ?
So what if players find the easiest or more likely most entertaining dungeons to collect gear with universal tokens .

I suggest stop trying to play God and let people who enjoy farming and crafting ,do it .
Let people that want a particular look of armour collect it doing whichever content they enjoy .
Why is there a need to control the playerbase ?
What is the big deal if a percentage chose the quickest dungeon to farm tokens ?

I personally think most of it looks crap apart from COF look .
All the stats are the same so honestly whats the big deal ?

In other mmo’s you have to get the best stats to attempt the next harder dungeon ,but here if you have your heart set on arah look gear you can do that once you are lvl 80 with some cheap lvl78 exotics from tp .

What percentage of the playerbase are going to farm wipefests for same stat gear ?
Please you have a very beautiful and technically perfect game but at 80 pretty pixels on gear are not going to keep the majority interested .

I do understand why a lot would leave after one playthrough .

There are issues and one of the main things I believe a live mmorpg needs at release is a live in game customer service team and a fully functional and well implemented way to way to gather groups together .
These are in this game non existent .
There is no way currently to have a two way live conversation with customer service .

I have asked quite a few guildies and had an in depth discussion on the matter of fun in WvWvW .
I would love to see were the fun can be had since I feel that like many players have said ,this is a pvp game ,but no matter what I do in there even with quite a few guildies that managed to end up in the same zone ( because you cannot queue as a group at all ,so it eliminates organising group pvp ) .I always came out frustrated and with a lot less gold .
I hope this does not come across as being overly negative but if you have fun spending so far roughly 85 hrs in the space of 2 weeks farming for a single legendary and still are only half way there then I can see a lot of fun times in game for you .
You do realise that once back at uni it could be a couple months till you get your reward.
I would love to have the fun in pvp pointed out in this game I genuinely would ,I could list all the things I tried and felt unrewarding ,but here is not the place but if you could highlight some things for me to do I would at least try them if I already have not.

Hello Nirvana ,
I understand your frustration ,these chain events are very often stuck .
If all three invasion forces get to rally waypoint and you fail t the boss ,I’am sure that you can shortly attempt again from rally .
The thing I do is spam map chat for help once I find out were they are at especially if you have seen an attempt fail ,since that at least shows the mini events were not bugged .
Like I say in the video when it is debugged and working as intended each path would be fun to do ,personally i’am not collecting shards because grinding is boring to me ,but gathering players and working towards similar goals feels great .

The lesson the game teaches me is the same as real life ,enjoy the journey just in case there is no end game lol.

Since I feel that there are no goals in the game only the ones you make for yourself , I have chosen my goal to be to have fun.
The only thing I have had fun with since getting to lvl 80 is discovering Dynamic events and exploring them to find the start and to also see if they lead to anything enjoyable .
Not Knowing what happens next in the chain brings its own fun and completing a whole chain feels rewarding .
What do others do and why?

No need for gear once you got max stat exotic .
Crafting is not needed by anyone to do anything .
WvWvW you are one of a zerg and mean nothing .
Any meaningful spvp looks like it will require real money to enter and if you have a solid group of co-ordinated players who reliable are focused.(not the majority )

Up to now My fun is either Lvl various characters through the content and discover dynamic events .
The one thing in the game that needs crafting ,world completion and a massive grind for materials is a single legendary item. If you want real punishment a full set of armour and weapons all legenday ,personally for the lifetime it would take and the purely cosmetic nature I could not even contemplate how this job would be fun especially since your ability to mindlessly grind is hot very quickly with the famous anti farm system ,They said before launch they did not want any grind in the game and implemented a system to eliminate it in any profitable way.

But on the other hand if you want a legendary item for your fun thing to do then you can partake in the historical grinding /farming ,made 10 times worse with the anti farm system .

A full guild effort of contribution took 6 weeks to make A legendary weapon ,so the nicest looking things in game would only be achievable by people aged 12 or less since they would have the lifespan left to wear a set ,lol.

I wonder how much Arena net can gain from letting these guys think that they are letting them get away with it .
That one guy has about 6 accounts and there are hundreds more if not thousands at £50.00 a pop .
When the mass ban happens he is going to be £300.00 down
Considering there are thousands like him and that box sales are the main income for arenanet at the moment this could prove very lucrative indeed .

let them bot ,Then say when the amount of bots reaches say 50,000 which is not much for 2million sales as a percentage .
Thats a whopping £2,500,000 for Arenanet and 50,000 account not taking up server capacity .
All at the press of a button lol.

Now do you understand why it is being allowed to happen ?
Cannot wait to see the forum posts of innocent victims that did not think it was wrong .

Yes I agree ,lucky they did a patch sunday night that seems to have unstuck the dock start point .
It really is a pity because when I spam chat and get a large group ,players do comment how much fun they are .

Do you know how many (new) people enter the zone each day and ask “any events?” on which nobody answers?

Events need wider (zone-wide) automated announcement. Stuff might be going on while many players don’t know about it. Having to ask is primitive, and is often not answered.

I tried a jumping puzzle since I was told there was a chest at the end.
Spent an hour getting up there ,I picked up account bounds cherries ,chocolate and the finally, the chest popped open and I was rewarded with a blue piece of vendor trash .
lol how deflating was that ,after all the frustration with camera angle hardly ever being able to see much ,sometimes seeing my charrs teeth from inside his head ,I was literally looking from a viewpoint were his brain should be ,you can’t get closer than that .
i won,t be going out of my way to do more of that .
Hell If there was an orri node or two up there I would be more inclined to do these lonely events .
I just feel getting a big group of players to work together to accomplish a DE chain is a lot of fun especially when they get em working properly .

I do it for the fun really ,but as far as rewards go ,the main thing for me is the karma reward to collect the exotic sets of gear ,I receive anything from 351 -378 Karma per event and thats a lot of events from fort trinity to the temple .

The next two zones that have the better lvl items that I assume sell for more since you will not be collecting them to wear ,they just kinda pay the bills when vendored ,do not seem to have any identifiable working chain that I can find .
Since I only do things that are fun ,I don’t stay long in them 2 zones at the moment until the events are successfully chained .
I have been able to work out the whole chains for the 3 individual paths ,but I’am still hindered by stuck events blocking these chains ,but am hoping at some point to be able to link the events leading to the final temple .

I cannot simply run the same event repeatedly I get bored of that very quickly and since even exotic gear isn’t neccessarily needed for anything and anything like buff food is basically useless picking out things to do that are fun to do is what I’am trying to do ,I got 400 weaponsmith and cooking and have not used either for anything ,its easier to just sell the crap drops at tp and vendor the rest then buy exotics with karma tokens and gold ,at 80 in this game nothing you get as loot is usable its just sellable crap to pay for repairs and stuff in fact for what its worth they could replace any level 80 drop with 1s and it would simply save a trip to the vendor .

So if we discount drops and rewards of any kind from any event so far ,fun is all we need to try to find in the game ,which I think taking part in the DE’s has the most potential for group fun ,if and when they work reliably .

The fact that there is no replies but quite a few views seems to indicate players are not aware of the paths and therefore cannot comment ,hopefully as players complete one of the paths I may get some feedback.

Today I completed the North path and onto the Temple ,failed at boss ,there did not seem to be enough damage happening to boss as players were being one shotted .

Did the south path from squalls cusp again didn,t get boss down ,players are getting caught in the aoe ,the summoned champion also killed some and took dps from the main boss.
Not sure the added champion was a bug but with the amount of players it was impossible to kill both ,obviously my opinion .

The problem is that you can only do these events once a day, at early morning.

I’am not aware of a restriction in how and when you can do them .
The only thing is ,sometimes one of the steps in the chain is bugged .

I did some more poking today as I want to focus on the 3 paths that lead to The Temple Of Balthazar .
This temple makes the karma vendor available that sells shards required in the recipe to make legendaries .

Up until this week it was mostly bugged so it was hard to work out the paths .
I did the chains about 4 times with 3 attempts at the boss that failed .
One chain were someone suggested doing the giant boss and we lost the pact .

You can start the chains yourself at Thorn pass wp and speak to the npc that calls you over . lol at first I thought he knew me personally . everyone calls me Over
One starts at squalls cusp .
One starts at the dock
One starts at Stentor Cannonade in signals peak .

They all head for the Rally Waypoint and on to Balthazar as far as I’am aware since the Dock one was bugged and would not start for our server .

But all three are repeatable from my experience and earn a lot of karma for the whole path
These three chains so far for me have been awesome in fact the most fun I have had in game .
I’am trying to make Players aware of the fun that they give .
A few players that join comment "man this is awesome " type comments among others .

Please try to do a full path and come here and give some feedback and tips since I’am still discovering .

Although if your server is like mine you will have to make people aware as you go that the invasion chain to the temple is at your nearest waypoint .

But most times I end up with a big group ,although lots do not know the boss abilities and get one shotted by his aoe or the constant flags that do tons of damage or the red circles were massive damaging flames drop onto and the champion he spawned to help him .
If you are not watching all of this you die quick and if the wp’s are contested you can struggle to get back to the event maybe even having to respawn in the next zone .

I have loads of fun and I want others to discover these fun paths ,honestly there is a ton of karma and three very different paths .
42000 karma comes round real quick when your having fun .

I just want to find out from anyone who may know about the 3 paths to the temple that start behind Fort Trinity at Thorn Pass WP.
I did this to get the word out .

And if you had an issue with the adventure skipping ahead with no visible identifier on the map ,basically you have to be on top of the next event before the location is shown .

South path :-First try did defend the supply doylac to Squalls cusp ,then nothing .

Another try I did from Fort trinity then from squalls cusps to the south onto Orr at some points there were long pauses at camps were people think its over and leave .
If you die and go to a waypoint it can take you a while to get back to the fight since you cannot get back without fighting half the mobs on the island .
The Orange ring showing the location sometimes does not appear till you are back to the fight .
From the south we got to Balthazar defeated the boss and got a chest and took control of the temple .

I had a similar experience doing the northern route from fort trinity.

Middle route .
Had issues having to spam map chat so that people didn’t leave after the fight at the dock .
The next step does not appear on the map till you dive into the water and swim out a bit ,since people think the event has finished they leave .

I explained in map chat that the chain does continue and some stuck around .

We swim to the straits to take out turrets ,once this is complete there is no indication on the map were the next event is apart from the writing giving you a clue in the top right corner of the screen which I do not think players seem to read ,so until you swim towards the location there is no identifier on the map itself .

So we take out the mines and again I spam chat to let people know to take the shore .

We take the shore and there is a pause ,but I do not see or hear or read that the pact are leaving to head inland ,so I head south a bit and there is a champion up defending balthazar so I do that, the next identifier shows the pact at the temple ready to assault .
So I force my way through mobs removing every condition in the zone from every mob in the zone and eventually reach the temple were I meet I think ,the vigil at the bottom of the steps .
Ok now I missed lots of steps and start helping them up the steps but they do not move and for half an hour and after everyone leaves they never budge and their moral seems to be stuck at about 20% .

So I defeated it from 2 paths but the final path seemed to skip the middle chunk of events and skip to the temple then nothing .

I love the dynamic events but would ask that the radius of the event identifiers be zone wide to allow people in the zone to know were these events are at .
Or at least make sure that the following event in a chain is visually identified from the location the previous event finished .

I would love to invite players wanting to take part in a chain to a large party so that its easily visible were the bulk of us are ,so we do not have to spam waypoints all the time to get players involved .
Simple invite them and they can make there way to us and leave whenever they need to .
If it is possible, put a message on screen to tell people how many events are in the chain and at what part of the chain they are at now ,a simple 1/10 ,2/10 ,and 10/10 at the last part so they know it’s over also this would let players hunt for the start of an event if they join in half way .

I think the dynamic events are the innovation in this game, but informing players that they are actually a long chain and not just random individual events would help players enjoy this fantastic aspect of this game to its full potential .

Some tweaks to make sure players are in no doubt they are in the middle of an adventure and not just running around bumping into the obvious events at waypoints and staying there to farm karma when they could with a little help be farming karma during adventuring in a connected chain of events .

Players do seem to camp the main event ,but they miss out on the adventure and masses of karma .
Take the first temple event Balthazar ,you can join in and do that fight which can be a difficult encounter ,you get 370 karma or so and some vendor loot .

Or

You could find the beginning of the chain of events leading up to it.
They are varied and smaller events that reward the exact same karma as the climatic event at the temple.
The first part of the chain start off the island of Orr and leads you across the bridges then onto Orr itself .
There are about 8 points at which you receive the 370 ish karma.
This takes you around the first zone.
Then you have to help groups of npc’s from a couple other parts of the map to also get to Balthazar before you accompany the npc’s up the steps to confront the boss .

There is a lot to do leading up to the actual boss event and that is probably why the boss can take a while to appear ,some players believe these bosses spawn randomly and individually but you are only taking part in one of perhaps 10 or so events if you just wait for the boss to appear .

I have not found the start point to these events myself yet.Because before the patch on the 01/10 most of the chains were bugged .
But I know when you get Balthazar you are told to move further into Orr to the second zone and take the next temple ,I suspect and will try my best to find out that these events are part of one main chain that takes all the temples and eventually Grenth or perhaps Arah ,but I will definitely have fun finding out .

Repeated defending of one camp is not fun. You are missing the entire fun by doing this mind numbing behaviour to focus on exotics that are not needed to enjoy the adventure .
I hope that Arenanet focus more on these chained events and move away from dungeon type content as these are so much more fun.
It eliminates the elitist attitude we all have experienced in previous games such as, Sorry you not got gearscore xxxx
We need this specific class.
We have been looking for a tank for 2 hours to do a 20 minute dungeon.
No need for group finder ,no pressure .
Just a lot of players with the same goal.
Basically there does not need to be a leader because you are all aiming to kill a boss doing whatever you feel benefits the group such as rezzing removing conditions applying combo fields killing adds ,it all happens because it has to to get the rewards .

I think players have got so used to grind for gear formulae,That simply adventuring and letting others know were there is a group event happening and jumping in to help is being overlooked .

Thank you for giving a little more explanation .
I have run all 3 paths of COE and got 180 tokens .
Previously 30 then 15 and so on .
I also did 3 paths of HOTW and also got 180 tokens .

I also did some dynamic events on Orr That were previously stuck and completed them ,so now I can collect karma and tokens as you originally intended ,thanks so much .

I do not care about revenues ,I do not care what another game does ,I care that a game with so much promise has so many stumbling blocks to progress it is not funny ,I just want to be engaged and have fun doing what ever I chose .

Choices are :-
WvW should be a type of big raid type organised communication based place but it has been structured to be a mass pug chaotic place to play ,you cannot even join as a large coordinated group hell you might not get in for hours as solo.

Dungeons are badly tuned with no progression and a completely failed reward system with fixes that make it worse.

Crafting ,why? what do you need buff food for ?
Crafting anything ? gear ,jewellery what do you need it for ? there is nothing in the game you need to be buffed for ?
the game is 1-80 there is no need to have exotics even .
Once you achieve 80 all it means is you have access to the whole world to repeat as much as you like ??
Pvp you are 80 when you start so that eliminates a levelling system .
Pvp were you get the best gear in game as soon as you create a character .
A game needs a goal ,an aim for teams to aim for ,what is the thing in the game that is going to give you that sense of accomplishment? ,what challenge is there to overcome ?
There does not seem to be a sense of team spirit to achieve a goal in the game, if there is please tell us what is it ?.
The term "game " can be used to mean learn to overcome something challenging which itself is fun ,once you master it you move on .
So this game the 1-80 is the game without the challenge and nothing to overcome ,so 1-80 is more an enjoyable experience but not so much a fun game ? what do we have to overcome and were is the challenge ,you can succeed and get gold awards in dynamic events even if you went to answer your front door while it was going on !!!
great for farming karma but no challenge and nothing to overcome .

So far I can see they eliminated the trinity and the need for gear .
But instead of challenging fun content that could be reward itself they implemented chaotic zergfest in no reward group environments .
WvW zerg to win
Dungeon zerg exploit to win .
Dynamic events zerg to win .
All with the added anti bot system that sets any chance of any loot to zero after a mysterious amount of time .

Try to limit referring to people giving feedback as whining this kind of feed back can help if read properly but denying it and saying it does not exist and the game is perfect adds nothing at all .
If Arenanet are a good company they will turn this free feedback into useful content and make the game a successful and fun place to spend your gaming time .
If I did not think this info could be used constructively I would not waste my time typing it .
The problem with bioware and funcom seemed to be that they did not seem to have the ability to fix issues ,I’am not concerned that there are issues more than I want to believe they have the ability to resolve them efficiently and hope to be very happy with upcoming patches .
Good luck devs and I sincerely wish your hard work gives the game strong legs .

I can fully understand why they sold 2 million and I fully understand why lots would leave ,you do not need any figures to identify why .
The facts :-
High sales figures due to heavy marketing and the idea that there is no sub and as stated by the ceo added content will also be free ,which will not happen in the long term if players are not active and purchasing from the cash shop .
The cash shop is your subscriptions and for quality content they need to make money to fund it .

One glaringly obvious reason players that got to 80 and left is the fact that there is no reason to do any of the content past getting a set of exotics .

Obvious reasons that players would only play casual if at all :-

Do the dungeons for fun a couple times but since there is no progression once you got exotic set which you do not actually need for anything as far as I know thats you done really .

WvW .simply run with the herd or die, got all the organisation of a 150 man pug raid lol,with perhaps 3 commanders that the only qualification to hold the title is gold so its understandable that it’s one clueless person organising a zerg of sheep .

Spend money on seige equipment and be lucky if it survives the next zerg or night cappers so it is easy to understand why players do not bother .

You cannot form a large party of organised guild members and join ,so strategy is non existent since it is the luck of the draw whether you get in or not so no organising which map to focus on because no one knows when or if you will be there .

You cannot jump into another map easily to help your guild if they require you ,basically the game as it is cripples any attempt at the organisation that would be needed to get some feeling of accomplishment .
The further north you go the further you have to run to get back into a fight you got killed in and the long lonely journey back can result in small packs of players killing you causing repeated attempts to reach your team and generally the event is done if you do get there .

Spvp 3 small maps of controlling 3 points gets old especially since again it is mostly pugs .

Dynamic events ,
A great idea to get you a set of exotics for karma but currently on Orr there are about 3 events that work reliably and the rest bug out as you head south ,you get told that your needed in an area ,you go there an nothing happens .
To be notified that an event is happening you need to either be virtually on top of it or keep spamming map chat for anyone that may know were one is happening ,they link the waypoint and if your lucky you get there as the event finishes and the following event bugs and you stand there spamming map again or go to the very north of cursed shore and repeat the 3 you know work but then the famous anti farm code hits and you are doing it for fun again since the rewards dry up .

levelling .
After the early zones skill challenges bug out.
Events don’t happen even though there is a giant orange circle you are stood inside .
Lots of mobs both on land and under water suddenly go invulnerable and there health start regenerating they then proceed to attack you again rinse and repeat .
Attacking objects in the world such as turrets or cannons or the trebuchets in orr seem to only take damage from one side .

Now the topping on the pile is that if any of the above affects you ,there is no in game help ,no live chat ,no telephone number ,apart from random replies on the forum and a twitter that tells you to contact customer support ,basically thats it 2 million people that have no way to resolve an issue in game unless you wish to send an e-mail and pray you do not get a “keep an eye on patch notes” response .

If anyone finds it difficult to replicate any of the issues above I would happily fraps anything addressed above and post it to were ever you want .
I would even fraps a explorer run and show the lack of advertised tokens on defeating the last boss .
If I can do this I find it hard to believe the developers find it hard to replicate these issues ,anyone who plays any length of time would be lucky not to randomly encounter at least one of these issues.

I truly hope they can correct these issues before to many get disheartened but considering the amount of issues I would imagine it would take a long time .
I have got my £34.99 worth from the game but would like to see it have a future .

I honestly believe the developers are making things far more difficult than they need to be .
If you have a time to clear that you believe takes an exploit to accomplish simply Lock the path for that set amount of time once the last boss is dead .

Players will know exactly what that time is on the interface you implement .

most of your issues revolve around stealth reductions and not communicating to the community what the rules of clearing a dungeon or any dynamic event or gathering materials are .
Forget all this nonsense just implement simple lock out timers ,do not try to make this Rocket science please .

As far as drops from repeatedly killing mobs surely extending the spawn timers for players in a small area would be better than the stealth system I would prefer them to stop spawning rather than stop dropping the appropriate crafting materials .

Once the system is tuned to work as this poster intends it to work then the issues should be resolved ,but until it does we are stuck with extremely poor rewards that do not even cover repairs

Plain and simple this system is a safety net for stopping crazy farming when people find exploits that make each run super fast. We are also addressing those loopholes, but that takes time and new ones might always be discovered. If you and your group do the dungeons without skipping large sections and run different chains this system shoul(bugs aside) never impact you.
Addendum for clarity, super fast means < 30 minutes, and even then you must hit that speed multiple times in a row before you start seeing any impact.

Very well written with no bias and no ranting and you reflect my sentiments exactly .

One of the first replies that said you got your monies worth got me thinking .

Although I agree for the time spent maybe you did get your monies worth ,but you did not experience the content as the developers advertised it ,so how could you get full satisfaction .

example .
No grind ,as you found out the token rewards in relation to the cost of exotic set = long grind
Lots of the dungeons are poorly tuned for players that are given no information on group composition leading to players having lots of corpse runs and as your guild has done they just stop playing ,
So they advertised play the game for fun is its own reward ,how many can honestly say that there dungeon experience was great fun ?
Currently Players are prohibited from doing any dynamic events ,collecting materials,running dungeons in fact anything more than say 30 minutes as nodes dry up ,dynamic events rewards dry up and currently you do not get 60tokens for clearing a path to any dungeon consistently enough to warrant the potential hours of time and repair costs in relation to the couple silver and useless drops you get .
Unless you can make gold from another source then I’am afraid you will not be able to repair after the multiple repairs required to overcome the mechanics .

I’am surprised that a company that ran a similar game cannot see that it boils down to measure are in place currently to restrict any reward from playing any content for what seems like a short space of time .

I suppose because there is no subscription numbers it will not be clear how many simply decided that the rewards were to restrictive for them to focus on any one element of the game ,there is not even a way to show you that from this point on and for a set amount of time you will receive worthless greys if you continue ,it just happens in a secret amount of time and lasts for an unknown amount of time ,so you can understand players that just suddenly start getting greys and have no clue how long it lasts will after a while simple not bother and possibly check in later to see if it has been improved or perhaps get comfortable in the mmo they chose to play and don’t bother logging again

I just want to be clear ,

I cleared one path of Sorrows Embrace Explorer for the first time ever ,it took us well over an hour due to figuring the tactics ,we spent well over half hour trying to figure out the last boss in a path were you got to kill 2 golems ,we were killing one at a time only for it to reset ,eventually we figured it out and I received 30 tokens !! and about 6 silver .
We wanted to do all three paths to get the achievement and because I want to learn the encounters and experience them a few times to be comfortable with tactics so I can help others in my guild ,but the second path was fun but at the end I got 15 tokens .
We did not do the third path because couple people got disheartened because it could be for the last path we could get zero ,so I thought it best to see if I could see a developer post saying this was getting a hotfix but instead they say it is working as intended .

An official post with a clear communication of the exact workings would be appreciated as it definitely is not working as I interpret the patch notes .

Path 0ne of an encounter clear last boss = 60 tokens + 26silver ( what I understand )
Path One of my first run = 30 tokens + 12 silver (What I got )

Path 2 of an encounter clear last boss = 60 tokens + 26 silver
Path 2 of my first ever clear of it = 15 tokens + 6silver

My feelings :- Extremely happy that we actually overcame the challenge and was proud of our group .
Felt like the reward said to me "so what " Its only worth 6 silver and couple tokens lol thats how much we think your effort is worth sucker .

So while clearing them to overcome the challenge is in itself a reward I will not be getting any exotics from them given the current system .

I want to get max stat gear once on a character like I thought the game intended ,I hate grind/farm .
Currently the system says you need massive amounts of tokens from a particular encounter ,so you have to farm one instance to get your chosen appearance armour type but if you attempt to focus on one instance we will make sure it will take you hundreds of runs .

There are no Rambo or terminator hero’s in server verses server .
.
To be effective and succeed in a team against team event the participants have to actually communicate and form a strategy and all work together to execute the strategy .
In real life War one soldier killing an opposing soldier ,will not win the war ,but as part of a larger team taking strategic points and reinforcing them to attack the enemy would be a winning strategy .
In the game environment of gw2 you as an individual will not succeed in world versus world unless the server works together .
You could in the extreme walk into the borderlands naked and at the end of the week your server could have won the war .
The front lines could take the enemy positions and you in your underwear could build seige equipment ,upgrade your keep ,reinforce it when it s maxed sit on a trebuchet in your underpants and own multiple invading forces .
With all the seige equipment available it is a bit silly to run into a group of enemies with your peashooter lengendary weapon ,can it take a door down or a wall or 20 man zerg ,or would placing a piece of seige equipment in the right position do the job better ?

teamwork with strategy and the right seige equipment = win .
Focus on your personal equipment and 90% crit with full legendary and running into battle with just your legendary rifle and greatsword will win some personal battles but alone will = fail.

Hello ,
Instead of anti farm techno;ogy which is punishing the player base.
May I suggest allowing the players to Flag for pvp a character that is proven to be automated and farming .
The players that kill the Bot get to kill steal everything including its armor and anything in it’s bags.
This could turn a problem into a fun event for the players .
We would be hunting characters that not even arenanet know about and I think it could be quite a lot of fun .
This would be a real dynamic event lol.

I’am sure Arenanet can come up with a way of identification but here is one suggestion .
To identify a character as a bot we could send the character a tell and if after say 5 tells you get no reply the character gets flagged for pvp and a distinctive sign appears above its head and the area identified as a dynamic event to the map .

Looting the bot should work just the same as looting a dynamic event ,except the bot should be left in its underwear for all to laugh at .

Any discussion would be appreciated as the more replies the more chance a moderator will read this and pass it on for consideration by the designers .

I have no clue if it is technically possible but I know I would get a lot of pleasure from actually killing these things that threaten the game and robbing them of the loot they are stealing .
