I couldn’t see anything on it, but is there a way to tell how many vistas/poi/hearts a person has completed on each map? It’s definitely a functionality I’d be interested in as part of a web app I’m developing.
Ah okay. Yea I saw the changes to the documentation this morning. Much clearer. Thanks!
Yup. Checked again, still isn’t in my account at all under https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/account/achievements. I’ll pm you with my API.
EDIT: Just realized it might just be a misunderstanding of the account/achievements functionality. These are achievements I haven’t started and thus have no progress. Is that the issue, or should it still show achievements I haven’t started?
That would make sense if it is the issue and the “fix” on my end is easy.
EDIT 2: Okay IF the intention is to only show achievements where current > 0, then this sentence in the account/achievements documentation, “The response shows every achievement in the game by ID and how far the player has progressed.”*, may be the cause of confusion.

So I checked out the information on issue-138 but it didn’t seem to address a problem I’m currently having.
It’s very specifically these achievements that I’m working with so I can only speak to these. However…every other Bosses achievement seems to be working…just not these ones. Is it because they earn you a mastery point? Anyway here’s how to replicate:
- Get your account/achievements response.
- You’ll notice if you get the achievements for Bosses category, this will be returned:
{"id":16,"name":"Bosses","description":"","order":160,"icon":"https://render.guildwars2.com/file/7554DCAF5A1EA1BDF5297352A203AF2357BE2B5B/498983.png","achievements":[220,337,339,341,338,343,340,342,2202,2474,2169,2620]}
- Search in your account/achievements response for 2169 (Crimson Wurmslayer), 2620 (Cobalt Wurmslayer), 2474 (Amber Wurmslayer), 2323 (Ogre Airship Climber), and 2202 (Karka Queen Killer).
If I’m not crazy, you won’t find them. Any updates on missing achievements in general?

The bug I listed in the above post is still present. Is this something that’s on the radar?
Bleh, I totally missed that one. I’ll try to have it fixed by the end of the week.
If I wanted to filter out all unobtainable achievements, I’m pretty sure there’s no way of doing that without going in manually. Is there any chance this will be added in the future or am I missing something?
I just turned on /v2/achievements/groups and /v2/achievements/categories which provide the information that’s used to display achievements in the UI. With that, you should be able to filter out everything that’s not displayed in the UI (though … I think all of the achievements are in there somewhere). Those endpoints should make it a bit more straightforward to make sense of all the achievements.
Wow, that was fast! Thanks a lot, that’ll make life so much easier.
I have a question I’m hoping someone could answer. I think I already know the answer but I’m not 100%. So right now the achievement response specific to say…id=880 would be:
{"requirement": “Meet up with Rox in Sparkfly Fen.”, “description”: "", “flags”: [], “type”: “Default”, “id”: 880, “name”: “She’s Over Here!”}

Could anyone point me in the direction of speed run videos for the current dungeon list people typically do daily?
I suppose I should add that it is a recent problem. I’ve been playing for a year and a bit and have not seen this before. No, I am not alt-tabbing. Although, that refreshed webpage thing makes me suspicious….Perhaps that’s the cause.
No black screen. Just straight minimization
Fullscreen @ laptop’s resolution (1920×1080)
NVidia for my graphics
It’s a laptop so I’m pretty sure no
I can’t make out a pattern yet. It just keeps randomly minimizing every five or so minutes.
A NEW stat! It’s called Volatility. It makes your conditions tick FASTER!!! BRING IT!!
Southsun Survival rots in that it gets worse over time. On release, you could run forward for a tenth of a second in the middle of Evon’s opening speech. Now you can run right up to the weapons. And if you kill someone, you deprive them of the rewards they should receive from spending 8-10 minutes in Southsun Survival. And if you get immobilized and then die after the game has started (staying immobilized) you also lose out on your chest.
While you’re at it, fix the Mote rate so that people aren’t twiddling their thumbs for most of the game.
Yup. And it’s glitched so that if you get killed at the start, or killed while immobilized, you get no chest.
That was WILD!! Shout out to Team Cobalt!!
Here’s another fun fact since we are on the topic of ANet Mathematices (I.E. Outlandish Goals on Achievements and Crafting).
If you were to kill 10 Dolyaks every 20 minutes (super super super generous), you will kill enough to get the title “Yakslapper” and 25 achievement points after 4 years of non-stop Yak killing, no not even stopping for nature breaks.
On a more “realistic” scale, if you play a generous 5 hours a day, at a rate of 10 Dolyaks per 20 minutes, without ever logging off of WvW to do something actually fun, you would get the achievement in a little over 18 years! GET SLAPPIN’
Kill Bloody Victoria without using a stun break (includes teleports) and without anyone getting downed.
Just did that fight on way to Frost solo. Here’s my first attempt on Frost ever. I solo’d all of P2 CM to get there. I’ll probably be trying to find a group for it to complete the challenge. Here’s a video of my first failed attempt!
Interesting, I would like to have emanuel comment on the legitimacy of the try, incase it wouldve worked.
I put my thoughts in the video description. It took about half a second before I failed the challenge. Static shot hit a turret and bounced to him. And I’m pretty sure I broke melee range.

I have an idea for a challenge:
Naked Two-Trick Jester Combatant:
Entertain and Slay the Howling King in Ascalonian Catacombs
Rules:
-No Armor (Yes you may have trinkets etc.)
-No Food Buffs
-Only 2 Skills of your choice [Kits will count as weapons not skills]
-No Auto-Attack unless that is one of the skills you chose
-You must perform a 3 second dance for The Howling King during the fight
-During the fight, you must kill 5 Graveling enemies of your choice without incinerating them
Based on the fight, I’m almost certain this is entirely achievable. With kits remember that each you may not use the full kit, just one skill (or two) from the kit as meets the requirement of 2 skills only. There are no restrictions on traits or sigils so if you want to have swap available, but you don’t want to use a skill from the weapon, you may indeed utilize the buff from swapping. Just as long as you only use two skills the whole fight, you’ll be fine.
Can you range turrets + Golems?
Follow-up if answer is No: So attacks that bounce?
Questions about this weeks challenge: As an Engineer, with the current rules, no “weapon” can actually be used. Rifle = Ranged, Pistol = Ranged, Shield = 3/4 possible skills are ranged with the last 1/4 being a skill you can only activate after using the reflect. Sounds challenging and fun, but is that intended? Keeping in mind too that our weapon swaps are Utilities and that the Race Utility rule bars kits.
Awesome idea. Do you guys have a guild that people can join so when they want to tackle these they have some sort of network of likeminded individuals? I’d like to join if you don’t mind tossing an invite.
I think the number one thing that contributes to difficulty is the fact that it is so ridiculously difficult to get into anything other than overflows. I can think of only 2 remedies:
1) Overflow Taco has a higher Time Limit (Because most people in the overflow will be unorganized and sloppy. With double the time, only the ones that stay unorganized and sloppy will be punished.
2) Only get Taco loot once per day. Because there are way too many people occupying the map. And then you’re also fighting with people who are guesting AND occupying your home world. When it comes to my loot, I’m a Xenophobe. But rather than giving priority to Home World people, I’d compromise at making Tequatl fruitful only once per day.
Just my 2 cents worth.
I’d like an invite please.
Mmm no not at all. Not at all not at all. I have this achievement. I got it on a fail overflow. I went BEHIND Tequatl to where his…tail…is. And then sorta just….dodged around for a bit. After a while I got it. Not sure what animation the tail sweep is for….but I got the cheevy.
I’m not complaining or anything, but I salvaged a PvP item today using a PvP salvage kit and I got PvP mats AND an Orihalcum Ore. Is this an intended thing? Because it’d be nice to have PvE rewards in PvP too….
I really don’t like missing him because of Jade Quarry’s frustratingly inaccurate dragon timer…..It seems like his respawn is upped a bit.
What is it. Does anyone know?
Did you go to BOTH shops in the mouth of W2Z3?
Edit:
W2Z1 – First shop after rapids, Second Shop where you get flute song, Third Shop before pre-waterfall Checkpoint, Fourth Shop IN THE WATERFALL
W2Z2 – First Shop atop Eagle Shortcut Plateau, Second Shop across the petals before the pre-midboss checkpoint, Third Shop inside the plateau before the many-column jump, Fourth Shop underneath the platform of the Gong pagoda
W2Z3 – First Shop where you get torch, Second Shop where you get Bauble purse, Third Shop in mouth where you normally get Elite Skill, Fourth Shop RIGHT BESIDE THE SHOP you normally get the Elite Skill from. They are BOTH there.

1-1: Great intro into TM. I didn’t know what to expect and some deaths made me laugh. I think the annoying part was how whimsical the jumping boulders felt in the pit of doom area. Overall, short and fun once you learn the path.
1-2: Once I got the Lava Rocks down, this was a cake-walk. Really fun level. Just…screw lily pads.
1-3: No really, screw the lily pads. That was the only hard part about this level.
2-1: After the patch, the level might as well have had the end chest spawn right beside me at the start. Really easy.
2-2: Soooooo long. And the 3rd last checkpoint almost had me ripping my hair out. I’d respawn on spikes, and then when I FINALLY got the next checkpoint down, it wouldn’t act like a checkpoint and I’d just respawn back at the 3rd last point again. And who the heck’s brilliant idea was it to have that Tribulation Cloud bullcrap by the boulders? That was the only time potions have ever been useful though…
2-3: Alright map….just kinda long. I hate ice though. The ice crystal room is alright once you learn it, but dang was it ever frustrating on my first run through.
Most challenging was World 2. I have it on farm now with 2/16 of the skins collected. I’m hoping W3 and 4 have kitten gus traps, no glitches, and some really fun and challenging jumps.
I can’t believe that it’s 5 days till the next living story patch and they STILL haven’t fixed this issue. They sure responded to the Super Adventure Boom Box posts in a flash.
They cease to be rewarding when you dumb them down to “Press W to win.” Thus, they aren’t fun anymore and are a mindless chore. Games should be challenging and frustrating. Because the end reward will be greater because of the emotions you’ve poured into the game. You want “Casual-Friendly”? Then maybe SAB isn’t for you. You have to spend at least 10 minutes on World 2 Zone 2 on infantile mode….30 minutes if you want World 2 Zone 2. I’ve seen more posts about how W2Z2 is impossible than I can read before living story is over. And yet there’s a freaking shortcut that goes from Checkpoint 2 to the boss. I completed all the worlds and zones and I can honestly say that the material there is nowhere near impossible and takes about one or two tries to get the hang of. So why can’t people casually try to complete the achievement categories without casually complaining?
I couldn’t agree more with your hyperbole comment. I was being sarcastic, you were being hyperbolic. The point was to lacerate by focusing on the absolute core of your argument. And it’s a weak one. A very very weak one. Nothing about the SAB is game breaking. Anybody who complains, should leave it alone. Why complain? What exactly are you trying to change? Technical proficiency of something that is totally doable despite the random errors that really aren’t all that bad? Or are you wanting more story that you think you are entitled to because of the monstrous amount of subscription fees you pour into this game? Or are you just wanting people to see your opinion so they can agree with it? Or are you wanting people to disagree so you can have an argument?
In all cases, you will get nothing of value, because if you do, you’ll devalue it by being ungrateful.
People who play games need to start growing up. Games should only ever be played on their highest difficulty setting. So many people want a mindless experience of go from point A to point B with no skill added in between. People have to stop wanting that. Basically begging for nerfs is like a fat person begging for fast food to not have negative effects on his body if he eats too much of it. You want the prize, but not the consequences that come with trying to get the prize. The prize really has no meaning if you didn’t do anything to achieve or deserve it. That’s what makes gaming fun, beating something that takes skill and attention to beat.
That said, I think ANet should have made the award for Super Adventure Box: Back To School achievement category be an Infinite Continue Coin and have the Tribulation Mode achievement category award the Yellow Backpack. There would be tonnes less whining. I just don’t understand how people who hit a road block in video games ask for it to be deleted from the game rather than trying to find a way around.
There’s definitely no lore behind Super Adventure Box and it clashes entirely with Asuran culture. There’s no way the Asuran’s could build something advanced AND technological at the same time. Just as well, nobody at all has been able to play Super Adventure Box without experiencing a myriad of bugs every twenty attempts that are so game crippling that completion is merely an unobtainable dream.
Well anyway, I’m gonna go back to playing the loreless Super Adventure Box. I have issues completing a jump every now and then that I, too, like to blame on RNG and poor technical precision.
Well, as an Engi I just completed it. The downside is that the T4 of Kiel didn’t count for some stupid reason.
Build = Typical Rifle Static Burst PVP with the Discharge trait changed to SCOPE.
