Been losing connection to the client when I change areas(going to a different map/going to pvp, etc.) Check with a guild mate and they’re having the same issues. Restarting the client seems to fixes it but it keeps happening every few minutes. My internet connection is fine.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Yea wells are good for point denial. Drop em on the points because people don’t want to stand in it to cap.
Having same issue but I was in Straits of devasation.
GS damage needs to be buffed BIG time! I remember you guys saying you were going for that monster movie feel where the monster is slow but it’s always coming for you and once it gets you it’s all over like Jason. You can keep the attack speed the same but that damage you get once you get a hit needs to hit HARD to make up for how slow it is. It really is just not worth using over dagger.
Why does anet hate Necros? D;
If you are still having problems, try adding this to your GW2 Shortcut Target:
-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
Here is a list of alternatives to also try:
194.25.94.170:80
174.35.71.9:80
151.249.90.199:80
93.188.135.37:80
62.154.232.194:80You can do this by right clicking on your GW2 Shortcut and adding the above text to your Target field. For example your target should look like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
I did this and it worked. If you don’t know how to do this, after right clicking on gw2 shortcut go to properties. You should find a box you can type in with some stuff in already labeled “Target”
Just add -assetsrv(space) on the end and one of the ips listed from earlier.
151.249.90.199:80 Worked for me today.
Living in New York, Verizon ISP.
I’m in Massachusetts and this one worked for me too.
I’m going to assume we’re all east coast verizon customers. This happened bout a year ago. Found this forum about what causes it. Verizon sucks. http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/guild-wars-2/td-p/778102
Same thing here. Been trying to get this achievement for the past 2 weeks. Logging into the map every now and then and the Champ does not attack back. Just continues on it’s path. I think it might have become a pacifist in an update.
Ok I FINALLY got it to work xD didn’t realize you had to go to notepad and go to open and find hosts files that way xD my bad finally did it. sorry for whining Thanks guys.
try this-it worked for m!
Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)
Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
No one is listening to me. I am trying that fix but I cannot open C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts in notepad and run it as administrator. I am getting no prompt to run it as administrator. Anyone have any ideas how to do this?
I’m also on Verizon in the NYC area and am experiencing this issue.
Instead of setting up a VPN, try this workaround:
Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)
Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.comSave the file. If Notepad prompts you to save as a new file, you need to start over and run Notepad as administrator.
If you have the GW2 launcher already open, restart it. If this still doesn’t help, you may need to change the address above and try a different number (e.g. assetcdn.102.etc..).
You may want to remove this line later when (if?) they resolve the networking issue.
Good luck!
Ok, I’m trying to get this to work but I can’t run notepad as administrator. I am getting no prompt to run it as administrator. I do get a prompt to open up an empty notepad as one thought but not the file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts HELP! D; working on windows 7

I was just online with Verizon chat support. It’s an issue on ANET’s end. Think about it, why am I able to play other games but not guild wars 2? I think it’s an issue with the latest expansion and the recent release in China. The servers might be overloaded and not responding to the DNS servers quickly enough. This needs to be remedied quickly.
EXACTLY! I have no other issues with ANY other games. Arenanet, you are dropping the ball here.
Don’t forget though that it is only affecting verizon fios customers. Has to be problems on both ends.

I’m also verizon. I’m trying to do this but I’m having trouble. Can you go through step by step on how to do this?
