Because nothing beats a purple glowing chainsaw spewing lasers while it spins in midair.
All Clones with scepter deal Zero damage :
Did not find this mentioned so ges better report it in then. All clones except Staff clones (who deal damage through conditions) deal 0 damage. That’s how Jon Peters want’s it and that’s how it is. Remember Low damage = no damage. Shatter away!
Why do we have a trait that boosts clone damage by 15% unless they mean shatter damage as even a 1000% boost of 0 damage last time I checked still would result in 0 damage.
This boosts phantasm damage as well as bleed damage.
You still get skill points, which are used in Unique Mystic Forge Exotics, Legendaries, better siege for WvW, and many other ways you can get gold from converting them.
100% Map completion gold star always on is the best thing ever!
Got 100% map completion on my mesmer.
He means that the star isn’t reflected on clones.
Reason I got 100% on Guardian instead of Mesmer

Rune of speed doesn’t help when running around solo and not getting hit. And no it’s not for a Condi build if I’m going Power.
I do have the bleed trait on illusion crit which does happen a lot and +15% duration on that is helpful but don’t care much about it (more than I would on swiftness while I get hit). Point was it does give stats and no-one ever mentioned build specifically, but running Condi damage in WvW isn’t going to be as good as Power for Phantasm damage on siege.
Edit: Actually getting hit for swiftness is counter-productive since while exploring especially, combat speed is horrible.
Centaur also give 165 power and 15% bleed duration in addition to 20% swiftness duration and swiftness on heal. rather have 165 power and bleed duration over condi damage in WvW
For #3, of NatashaK’s point, easy != quicker and more efficient. I have an 80 Guardian and 80 Mesmer, Mesmer was faster but Guardian was easier.
Not as true for Mesmer since tanky specs yield pretty crap damage compared to a pure Shatter spec, especially since mobs will go after those clones you spawn constantly with dodges.
GW2 uses a sort of Queue system for skills hit in rapid succession. Only surefire way to cancel a skill to do a new one is dodging/movement. Not sure if any skills immediately cast and interrupt other skills but could be wrong about that.
I heard you also made the clock tower, and if so, you are my favorite known GW2 designer.
He did, and i fully support this statement!
I hope they post stats about what % of accounts finished it, since his aim was 5%.
This would be amazing and would actually encourage use of the gem store since you’d be more likely to transmute items if they were readily accessible (as well as the use of an item to first add it).
I feel slightly bad but am amused when I place a portal before a hard jump, mess up, portal back up, then some guy behind me takes the portal up top and has to restart it all since it goes away.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/structured-pvp-iceberg/ has full explanation. Unlesss they changed it then 180 for first and 120 for second.
Were the mists tests done with Steady weapons?
You can kill siege out of line of sight using Greatsword phantasm, you can pull people off of tower/keep walls with focus, you can portal to expedite supply runs/many other strategies, can portal people for Jumping puzzles.
I could probably keep naming other fun parts, basically a Mesmer can always do something useful at any point in WvW.
Smaller skirmishes tend to happen when servers have smaller supply camp parties apart from the main zerg. Happens quite often in jumping puzzles as well. All more common in the borderlands than Eternal Battlegrounds. EB tends to allow less roaming and is definitely more zergy.
You know, the attack speed of Mind Stab was increased a huge amount in the prior patch. It’skittennear instant now.
Not sure why people are griping about the “delay”.
The delay is much quicker but the .5-1s root while casting makes it hard to use while kiting without proper planning. I’m fine with it, but it seems that small root is what makes most people more aware that it has a delay.
Are you talking about Phantasms or Clones? Clones look the same minus off-hand. Phantasms are purple/pinkish and translucent with a different name with Illusion in them.
In addition to the above, you could also do one of the following:
- Spec into laying consecrations down and put wall of reflection at the wall along with Smiting with Sceptre
- Use Arrow Carts (does take badges or silver though)
the closest thing we have to an instant escape mechanism with Leap of Faith (again, assuming the targeting doesn’t go all wonky).
I’ve never had an issue with wonky targeting after turning off Melee Assisted and Auto Targeting options.
Are you sure people aren’t talking about http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Renewed_Justice which recharges on kill? (15 point radiance)
