So that is a double DISAPPOINTMENT on both questions
1. The internal cooldown renders 100% crit chance useless
2. The fact that life leech in this game is a fixed value makes it a heal not a life leech at all because then it’s completely independent of the big damage you do
Might as well give up on both Leech Food and Blood Sigil then and focus on something that actually scales with my crit damage.
What about the amount? is it damage related or is it a fixed value like healing?
For example:
Omnomberry Pie – Nourishment(30 m): 66% chance to steal life on critical.
The wiki doesn’t say anything about an internal cooldown which would imply that i can life steal with every crit but i have a weapon sigil that does mention a cooldown:
Sigil of Blood – 10% / 25% / 50% chance to steal life on critical hit (cooldown: 5s)
So my question is, do food items also have a hidden internal cooldown?
1. If YES then how many seconds?
2. What % do i leech is it 100% of the damage inflicted or is it a fixed value?

1’st screen is without fov
2’nd screen is with fov
…the field of view is way better so pls implement it
That utility skill is the only thing that balances the ranger’s inferior weapon dmg (keep in mind the shortbow is the only weapon that does close to normal dmg, the longbow dmg is plain broken)
(edited by Payne.5062)
Tested 2 weapons of the same level on the same mob (auto-attack skill only)
-with shortbow i killed it in 14 seconds
-with longbow i killed it in 28 seconds
Did anyone else tested the kill-time between different weapons? I find the difference in dmg gamebreakingly huge.
I have a level 80 ranger … before people wonder, the shortbow NEEDED a nerf.
Probably 90% of ALL bots are RANGERS using SHORTBOW. Why do you think that is? There are literally PACKS of them running in every zone. Why? Because it was TOO GOOD. When it is so good that it becomes the bot standard you had better expect the balance bat to fall your way.
Be honest … DPS wise you could easily get away with a Bear and skill 1 (auto attack) and do nothing else and down almost anything. Oh no we might have to work 2-5 into the rotation now. Anyone crying about a nerf should be forced to play an Ele for a month for perspective.
It has nothing to do with beeing overpowered ..it’s the only normal weapon for Rangers as the rest of the weapons only do about half the damage
…we are not proud of using only the 1’st attack but all the other skills on the SB don’t make any dmg (mass bleed, jump back, cripple and stun for 1 second)
Lvl 80 resets with cross-professions: the ability to gain and choose an utility skill or trait from a different class on each reset ..that way character progression will never stop
DusK is kinda right …this game is very successful at spreading the content across the map so you can experience the whole game
..ppl are just not used to this idea and they rush to lvl 80 thinking that more power will make the unexploited content better ..but then they realize that character progression has stahp’t
..too bad there aren’t lvl 80 resets with cross-professions (like the ability to gain and choose an utility skill or trait from a different class on each reset) ..that way character progression will never stahp (but that may get way too OP)
i don’t think many ppl will like it if i start speaking in romanian
..the game client is in english, the skills are in english, the mob names are in english ..just saying ..english is basically a common language between nationalities ..i dont play korean mmo’s because i don’t speak korean
I think the problem is this game is so good ppl just don’t want it to end.
This game is perfect for me. I’m kinda antisocial, i played D3 before this game with some friends, but D3 is just way too antisocial even for me. After friends left D3 the public games made me feel like suicidal lonely, i can’t believe how antisocial that game is and like i said ..i’m actually antisocial.
This game is simply perfect. Even when i’m not playing with friends the Dinamic Events and human interaction is bliss. I’m not even rushing the game. I’m just exploring and completing maps in main story areas and helping ppl along the way, it’s the perfect game for ppl like me.
On the scale to Happiest to Unhappiest …Engineers dont even make the list
yey ..that means i can finnaly complete that skill point and get my map completion
then don’t do them
It’s very simple …base critical dmg = 150%
..if you have 1% critical dmg then you do 151% critical dmg (51% more dmg than a normal hit)
..not that much if you think about it because you can only get to stack about 200%+ critical dmg (double dmg when u crit rather than a standard 50% more dmg)

Lvl 80 resets (that grant 1 new utility skill or trait from different class)
in Suggestions
Posted by: Payne.5062
My end game suggestion would be to have optional lvl 80 resets that grant you new class skills or traits.
Example: Each lvl 80 reset will reset you’r level to lvl 1 but will grant you 1 new utility skill or 1 new trait from any class you choose (you keep you’r existing skills but skill slots will still need lvl requirement to unlock them again, hearts and skill challenges will also reset)
That way you can feel super OP, the game will satisfy your greed and let you refine your character endlessly with interesting new combos that will keep you playing the game for years.
1. What do players expect they should do once they’ve completed everything?
I guess most players always seek more power.
2. How do MMOs that have been around for years, keep top level players playing?
Top level items that are extremely hard to get.
3. What could Guild Wars 2 do to improve the endgame experience?
Satisfy the hunger for more power.
4. If you could suggest a drastic change to improve the endgame for all MMOs what would it be?
The best thing i saw in MMO’s are level resets that add something new after you complete it again (for example at level 80 to reset to level 1 but receive a new skill from a different class, each lvl 80 reset to grant a new skill or trait from any class you choose ..that way you can become super OP, the game will satisfy your greed and let you refine your character endlessly with interesting new combos that will keep you playing the game for years)
5. Would you support a game that was so hard, it took months, or years to reach level 80?
Answer to number 4 will improve that.
Keep in mind these where just my personal opinions and suggestions, i haven’t even reached lvl 80 yet and i’m enjoying the game as it is so far.
I wish all classes had initiative like thief instead of cooldowns …but thats just my personal taste and may differ from others …i do really love the game
If the op thinks this is a repetitive short content game with bad party members and useless drops i’m even afraid to ask what he thinks of diablo 3
..i do understand the need to vent about personal taste but i just can’t think of a better game than this one ..and ArenaNet do cares about the community so this work of art will get better and better
this problem would be fixed easy if they ban spammers with serious proof of repetitive gold selling messages (it’s even illegal to sell gold for money) …i keep reporting them because that can help
Devs really do care about constructive criticism ..i even has some counter-constructive posts deleted to some negative criticism
..only problem is what starts as a constructive criticism turns into counter-constructive negativity
There are so many little details in this game that just make my day and grow my love for ArenaNet
..like the way that when sylvari curses they say “thorns”
..or the fact that i went to explore the human city and there was a children school and it had a chalkboard with a catapult trajectory over a wall and some doodles of centaurs and some trajectory angle equations
Conspiracy Keanu: what if OP is trying to steal your password with keyloggers
i hate the bow sound ..it’s the only thing i hate in this game ..whish i can change it somehow
named my pig “Spider Pig” (Simpsons humour)
so in order to be objective we need to say the game is decent …i however find everything in the game exactly to my personal preferences, found the right section to report minor bugs, and refrain from complaining about personal taste that others might like
you have to learn to enjoy just being in the game ..among other players ..there is so much content ..story’s to hear ..places, things to see ..this game is like a book …if you just skip every conversation just to finish a map the fastest way possible than you are skipping chapters in that book
..after you finish the book you can rewrite that book with a different hero ..different outcome …this game leaves so much to the imagination ..the only thing the game can’t tell you is how to use you’r imagination
i never had so much love for a gaming company to enjoy this game so much ..too bad the d3 whiner community is infesting the forums
It’s difficult to hear everybody here. Is something in your mouths?
It is nice to know that we won’t be seeing you ever again when that panda pack is out.
Hmm… panda pack?
they added pandas in wow ..as a rip-off to Kung Fu Panda movie ..he though you where into that
..also how dares the op to love this game without your negativity
..ppl can’t understand that when someone sez they love this game so much it means the problems with the game are insignificative compared to it’s beauty and the fun it brings
yep ..this game is a piece of art …never loved a game more in my life
…i noticed that the game is more loved by ppl who apreciate beauty in things rather than those who seek raw power ..but i might be mistaken this coming from a sylvari point of view
i am a ranger and i find this offensive …i frikin love greatswords
..i think the diversity is in others ..you are never meant to play alone and even if you use the same 1 skill among others will seem pretty unique by they’r perspective
For those of us not interested in cosmetics or vanity items, even the legendary variety of ‘model upgrade’, what now? I was hoping there would be some sort of PvE endgame.
it’s never the destination it’s the journey
..if you didn’t enjoyed the game up to level 80 but rather was interested in raw power than im sorry for you ..this game isn’t about one man with power but power in numbers …it’s called guild wars for a reason
..if you did enjoy it then make a new character …you have 7 classes left to try out (and 5 races)
I may have exactly the opposite problem. I love this game so much that i don’t wanna level up. I completed everything in my town and now im completing other race’s main town’s instead of going to harder areas.
If there where no training wheels i’d be just killing mobs.
I just love that Gw2 has all this unique revolutionary mechanisms that solve all problems in such a simple and unique way. This game kinda revolutionises MMO’s.
ArenaNet is just full of brilliant ideas.
(edited by Payne.5062)
the only thing im sorry for not being included in the game is the ability to PK boters (and players in pve) …but i love the game too much to care
..try to mine mine ore, chop wood and gather things in his area ..they sell very good as ppl outlevel those areas
i think that if you farm the same spot the drops get inexistent …so this may already be solved
the anti-farming method is not only great at removing boters with farming macro but also increases gameplay as always moving on will get new you mining ores and challenges to prevent the game getting stale
Thank You ArenaNet …this is the best game i’ve played and i dont think i will be playing anything else for the rest of my life. It is simply amazing, it has great artwork, gameplay, incredible design, revolutionary new level scaling, huge maps, huge content.
I just love everything about it. The races, the classes, the professions, every race is so different and original it’s like a whole different game.
there needs to be a flame section to keep the forums clean ..ppl do like the game otherwise they woulden’t be here …but it’s in human nature to complain about the little things
…everybody would like a game to they’r exact specific needs so a flame section would help players understand that what they are complaining about is a personal taste that isn’t general
you can simply press the Map key and you have all the info in the top left corner
I think it would be pretty cold to stand there sewing a new pair of socks while your mates are getting their heads bashed in.
lol …i know but sylvari has a weird 5 minute event where you need to capture some failed experiments and the level scaling is very bad ..like 3 levels below …and you’r contribution isn’t helping speed up the process at all ..it may be the longest event out there who also repeats itself every 10 minutes
can you still use the workstation for crafting when there is an event in that area?
..i know that all the npc’s are in battle, but can you still use the workstation? one time i didnt close it before the event started and i could still use it during the event, but after i closed it there was no way to re-activate it
it does affect characters visually ….it’s harder to spot an Asura Thief in the grass then a Charr Thief
i actually thought at first that events give rewards according to you’r involvment but you get them anyway
..i actually like them like this because im just sitting there minding my business and suddenly some ppl are guarding some vip and i get rewarded too …so my presence must had intimidated some mobs or something …makes me fel like i did a good job
i think the system is perfect …there are no montly fees so 5 slots is more than enough to play enough content for the initial cost ..that way if you want to play even more than you paid for there are additional costs
