Hello I have recently returned to the game after been away for almost 2 years. I have Heart of the Thorns. I need help with a DPS PVE Guardian skill build. The game is very different than when I last played.

I assume Berserker gear is still best for my needs. My main weapon is the legendary Eternity with no upgrade or fusion slots filled. I would really appreciate some help. If no one has time to answer me at length could you please link me to some useful sites.

Hi I am upgrading my video card. I currently have 2 GTX 470’s in SLI. I do not have much cash atm (as I recently resigned from work and my vehicle died) but was thinking of buying a single GTX 770 until I have more cash to get new pc. I only play GW2 and Star Wars The Old Republic. (No shooters that need higher frame rates). To get a GTX 780 will take 6 more weeks to save for it at least so would the 770 be a reasonable upgrade until I return to higher income?

Hi my friend has a new level 80 Elementalist. She wants to focus on healing in a group. She never intends to solo. She was wondering what gear to buy and traits. Should she get berserker gear and adjust traits to improve healing etc..or as she never wants to solo can she get away with Clerics gear and pertinent Traits? Thnx for any help.

Hi is using Berserker gear a good general starting point for new level 80’s regardless of class? I play mostly PvE, very little PvP, very little to confirm. I use weapons/ builds that do not use condition damage if I can choose it (is this wrong?). I appreciate any help offered, thnx

The crafting boosters are basically money savers. You have a higher chance at increasing your crafting level. This does NOT translate into higher XP for crafting 1-400, you just get a higher chance of getting to 400 with fewer materials.

Crafting a profession to 400 will only give you 10 levels. There are 8 crafting professions so you can gain 80 levels but only if you do them all on the same character.

I use a crafting guide that utilizes the buying premade components idea and it works very well. I buy 2 levels worth of parts at a time, pop a booster, and craft them all at once using the discovery panel which grants more crafting exp. I switch to an alt (just so I’m not wasting time in my booster) to buy another 2 levels of items and leave them in the BL for my crafter to pick up and then I repeat the process.

It’s true the booster works on crit crafting and that you technically craft less when you aren’t making every little bit of an item, but mass crafting within the 1 hr boost time still yields a benefit. Plus, you can easily get to lvl 400 within the hour using this method.

OK thnx I’ll look at those. Is it possible to go from level 12-80 by ONLY crafting 2 professions to 400. If so I’d like confirmation on this so that my leveling 1-80 can be the fastest possible, faster than leveling 8 professions to 400, which I do now.

Thnx for your comment. I asked around about it. I recently received my one year anniversary gift several days ago. I started playing in the bonus pre launch time. So if what you say is accurate, the problem must have been fixed at launch as I know some people who have ever only leveled via crafting 8 professions since launch day and they do not recall being able to level to 80 from getting only 2 professions to 400. Cheers tho.

Thnx for the reply Beldin and those who PM me. I was not trying to win an argument with my friend, he’s one of my best mates. I tried his method and it did not work. I thought maybe I did it wrong but after leveling a few characters by crafting I was pretty sure I was right. I simply needed clarification that if his way was possible I would try that method again but I was sure it didn’t work.

Yes agreed, I already stated that, but can you level from level 12 to 80 from leveling ONLY 2 professions to 400 each? That would give you 20 experience levels. With boosters maybe a little more. Where is my friend getting the other 40+ levels from. To repeat my friend said he leveled from 12 to 80 solely by leveling 2 professions to 400. Only 2, no more. I’m not outright denying my friends method, simply if there is a better way than I am doing it I’d like to know.

Hi I have leveled a few characters from 1 to 80 using a profession crafting guide I found on the net. With crafting boosters I have been getting easily 10 levels of experience from leveling professions to 400. I have needed to level over 6 -8 professions to level 400 to reach experience level 80.

My friend said he uses a different guide. In this guide you buy pre made metal ingots or leather squares off the auction house instead of buying the ore and making the ingots yourself. So to me this means you gain less xp as you are not creating the ingots. My friend said that using his system he leveled from level 12 to 80 by leveling only 2 professions to level 400. Is this possible even with crafting boosters? I tried this guide and it did not give me the same results as my friend. Sure I saved money on mats but gained less xp. Sorry to repeat myself.

I challenged him on this and I said I do not believe you can go level 12-80 on only 2 professions. Doing the maths I cannot see this is possible especially if he is buying pre made mats and not making them himself. He then changed his story and then said he leveled the last 10 levels from 70 to 80 via questing/ exploring.

So am I wrong? Can you level from 12 to 80 by leveling only 2 professions to 400? Or is my friend misleading me?

Hi, new to high level game. I thought stacking Power and Precision would be best for all classes and then specialize the rest according to unique class or weapon. i.e. Guardian: power and precision then Toughness? I just assumed power and precision would benefit all classes generally as the main stats. Am I wrong? Any experts able to guide me. Sorry my English is not great.
