So now even more servers that actually have active WvW are full. I came back to WvW — I am caught on a dead server. What the heck do I do???

HOT just released. I was about to transfer three accounts (mine and my kids), and pay to do so, to a 1000-gem server. But now that server is full? Presumably even when it comes off of full, it will go to 1800 gems — too much for me to pay for three accounts. My server is dead for WvW, so staying there is not an option.

I came back to enjoy some good WvW on the new maps, been working on some ascended gear to do so, and now I feel like my plans have been scuttled. Joined a guild that is based on the server I was going to, made new friends, etc. . .

Bottom line — they should notify you that they are about to change server classifications. Also, transferring is too expensive. I was starting to have fun again and was getting psyched for WvW — now, not so much, I’m feeling the pull back to MOBAs that took me away from GW2 in the first place. . .

Don’t like it, too big, too much PvE.

They definitely should have delayed the release of the new WvW map. With so many people in PvE, that is really souring people on the new map, as well. If it was going to work at al, it needed to have a good population. Since everyone is in PvE, people are randomly wandering into WvW, seeing it barren, and getting a very bad taste in their mouths.

This could, honestly, be the thing that makes WvW jump the shark, if it has not already.

I think they should do a log-in vote or something to get a better sense of what their player-base as a whole thinks.

I came back recently — had forgotten how great the game was. But the new WvW map. . . ugh. I agree with the “too big” and “too much PvE” sentiments entirely.

Thanks very much! If I may ask — where did you craft? Lion’s Arch? If so, I wonder whether it matters if you use a crafting station in one of the map zones.

Someone replied to my separate post about installation and said that a lot of the data should be pre-loaded on the day of launch. As for how to pre-download the rest, I’m not sure.

Just bought the expansion for myself and my 2 kiddos I can’t seem to find out, thought, whether I need to now manually install it, or whether it will automatically upgrade me when it’s released.

So — do I need to go to the “games” portion of the GW2 site and click to install it manually? If so, should I do that now or wait? Or if I use the launcher after it’s released will I auto-update to HOT?
