Open your hero window and select the story tab. Make sure your personal story is active. I would highly recommend completing your personal story which will lead you through the core game world first. Then watch the living story season 1 (season 1 can no longer be played) then if you are enjoying the living story purchase season 2 and finish that. Your next step would be heart of thorns story and finish with season 3.

Pvp/wvw is always nice to mix in. Welcome to gw2

The permanent salvage kit is great.. Good also get some perm. Gathering tools. Being a fresh 80 could also exchange for gold to buy your first set of exotic armor/trinkets/weapons etc. depends on if your patient. Ide go for the Salv kit and tools myself

Race change could be done and there have been a million suggestions on how it could be implemented.

They would make a killing on this. Yes you can reroll but some of us have more money than free time to keep going through map completions. Ide pay a hefty price tag for a race change feature.

The guardian shouts were fixed already… It’s symbolic avenger that’s bugged.

Did not use to be the case, I apologize for the bad info. I keep one on my staff for wvw but used to keep a separate staff for stack and swap purposes. Too bad they changed it. I did take a long break so meh

For ascended armor I went with soldiers since I mostly do WvW and open world events. Even with fotm I can do lvl 50 dailies with zerker weapons/trinkets and still pull respectable numbers. It’s my understanding there will be no new dungeons for the xpac so unless your diehard fotm I like pvt for my all around armor set and simply change your weapons/trinkets depending on what your doing since they are much easier to obtain.

Should have access to the skin through the wardrobe tab if the skins unlocked

I could care less about the price of this xpac, I have spent more money than I would care to admit on this game but that’s fine… Cause I can afford to do so.

My problem is the pre-purchase drama when we have received little to no actual details on what the HOT xpac actually includes. Yes there are non-descript blanket statements like “challenging” group content but that doesn’t exactly tell us anything. I will be buying the xpac regardless but I can not help but feel let down by the lack of details and communication from this team.

Veterans, new players… It doesn’t matter. If your going to put the xpac out for sale include the necessary details so that as consumers, as YOUR loyal customers we can make an informed decision on whether or not we will be continuing on in Tyria. Most of the content I know for sure is coming I will still have access to without HOT…

We should have all the new specialization info by now as well, even if it’s just the concepts, type of skills and the new weapons.

Thieves would have the biggest advantage in this game if you’re allowed to swap builds instantly out of combat. Just imagine being attacked by a power thief but you kick his kitten and he stealths, shadowsteps away quickly, breaks combat, and swaps to his condi build instantly (all while stealthed) then just attacks you again and destroys you.

That would be lame.

Would still be able to “abuse” it like Evilsardine said. If you swap your build ever 1.5min idk anymore.

You can do it currently in well under a minute when out of combat…. It’s just much more annoying.

Staff 3 is the worst source of swiftness in this game. You have to stand in the circle for like 4 seconds to get the full benefit. Meanwhile a thief outruns you with a single dagger2. I do not think that a prof should be binded to 2 shouts and a crappy weapon to achieve what others can do with a minor trait.

In wvw and spvp it’s so bloody obvious there is only ONE chance you get without movement speed runes. You are a bunker.

I’m sorry but we shouldn’t be able to deal massive damage and be mobile at the same time. In most cases, our only counter is the lack of mobility. If gained, we would be unbalanced and ArenaNet would further limit build diversity on the class general.

What was needed is a CC for peel counters, or a buff in our spear-head abilities. We were given an F1 immobolize CC but we have to see how effective it really is. Whether or not the trait is an instant cast will govern its effectiveness.

Our current damage output is a poor argument against them implementing a movement speed trait. Many of the classes that already have the movement perks have better sustained and burst damage. Mesmer finally got brought up to speed… No pun intended, why are we left behind?

My main has 100% map completion so if I understand everything correctly I will be able to unlock everything again when the patch goes live. I also have 1,000+SP leftover on my main which will become MF currency which I rarely use. This will be a huge problem for my alts that I crafted to 80 for WvW and unlocked everything with scrolls. Guess I’ll stick to my main and one alt that I finished my map completion on.

Saved builds with the ability to auto equip different armor/weapons upon activation…

Has my vote, been wanting it since launch.

I keep a set of armor w/ travelers runes and more often than not that’s what I have equiped unless I’m running with a guild/Zerg. Finally crafting my ascended armor and it is frustrating since the only real meta using travelers is wvw roaming. It’s not bad when running staff secondary and shouts but the majority of the other classes get it through a passive trait which is much better than being pigeon hold into a utility and weapon slot.
You would have thought with adding the longbow trait line movement speed would have been a no brainer. I highly doubt those speccing into dragonhunter are going to want to slot 1-2 shouts just for swiftness

We do have the ability to change hairstyles with either ingame gold or gems… Not sure why people have such a sense of entitlement. The price point seems fine to me. Just because it’s in the gem store doesn’t mean you have to spend RL cash. I on the other hand am way too impulsive and have spent way more on this game than anything else I have ever played.. But I can afford it… So there’s that.

Nothing worth mentioning and I’ve been playing since launch. Most of my gold has been from selling t6 mats and ectos. Wasted lots of gold trying to get my precursor from the MF but eventually gave up and just bought it. Pretty frustrating. Started BLK farming and buying/holding scientific skins… Hopefully in a couple months it will pay off.

Lyss x2 for me.. and Wall of the Mist for matching shield. All personal preference tho.

Can always roll with a Rifle SD build or HgH p/p but meh.

I always have atleast one kit in all my builds.

Engis are not for everyone… but you wont get the feel for any class @ lvl 5. Give it some time

I delete 99% of the green runes/sigils. They are an annoyance… simple as that. Just like the people crying about it being an exploit.

Champ farmers are not making more money because of this… they are making less. If they miss 1 champ… just 1 to vender all these crappy runes/sigils then they actually lose money…. LOSE.

People are funny though. I still use my MF kits for rares, with how many stones we got from achievement chest they are very cheap to make now too.

Ive been in numerious kills on several of my toons… some random greens/rares and one exotic amulet is all ive gotten…. not worth the hassle of fighting through overflow servers and then waiting an hour, complete the event (which is actually quite simple) for the lovely RNG we all know and love.

Heres an idea, thats been suggested a million times. Have Teq drop a token, whether that reward be account or character bound whatever… but let us buy the weapon crates after 100 kills… something.. plain rng is kitten.

After finishing all the achievements, dont see a reason to go back.. not with the loot ive been getting for it. Not worth the time invested until overflows/guesters are addressed

We are definetly getting faster and faster with each kill.

More servers should be downing him, we have alot of guesters learning it. Communicate, its pretty easy… unless of course kitten afkers on your turrets :P

Theres alot of stereotyping going on in this thread for sure.

I actually enjoy Zerg farming… I enjoyed Ember farming, CP farming and Invasion farming until the rewards were nerfed.

I had never set foot in a cof1 farm group, that just didnt seem fun to me.

In regards to the comments about how rude farmers are… really? I mean really? You do realize most of the trolling/flaming going on in map chat over the ember farm was started by anti-farmers? People that didnt want to complete the event because they actually cared about completing the chain but had the intent of making the mob angry. going out of their way just to grief others… isnt that all that matter.. their intent? And 95% of the time on our server it was those trolling anti-farmers that started the arguments in chat. Same for the Invasions… I rarely see a farmer say anything in chat except maybe pinging a WP where a champ is at. Nope instead its people flaming farmers because they dont take right off as soon as the events over and stay to finish off a champ or are farming pirates when they arnt needed. Play the way you want, we will do the same.

As far as people running over your body and not ressing you… I only try to help someone if they are “downed” and its safe to do so. If your dead dead… release and run back.. its you being lazy not me.

There is plenty of mix and matching you can do but charr is the most challenging… there tends to be alot of stretching and clipping issues with charr medium armors

Rifles scale better with power and obviously dont offer much in terms of conditions but if your going to use GK as your primary damage source and swap to rifle for CC etc then it would be fine. You will be missing out on a second sigil though.

Anytime you get right down to the actual numbers of your heals you may want to mention your gear/spec and whether or not thats based off any +healing (or from trait lines). As far as a guide goes it would be beneficial to include the rest of our blast finishers, not only the ones you use with your current build and utilities.

Some footage during some actual encounters goes a long ways also, we have short attention spans.. kitten generation and all that.

Unless your trying to bunker, stationary utilities are fairly useless and/or situational.

Much more useful abilities at our disposal.

Problem: I do not believe I need to restate the pet issues in detail… in short, pets account for a decent percentage of a Rangers dps and in certain aspects of play (especially dungeons/fotm/wvw) they are just about useless leaving the Ranger with a significant dps loss.

Solution: Allow Ranger to stow (and lock) their pets so they do not auto-engage in combat. Grant a passive damage multiplier (10-25%) to a Ranger when his pet is stowed.

This would give Rangers the choice to opt. out of using a pet in certain aspects of play without gimping their dps allowing for a much more enjoyable experience and make them a bit more welcome in groups. Obviously using a pet would still have its benefits of slightly higher dps (situational) and the extra pet abilities.

They cant just buff pets without making us OP in many aspects of play, we all know that… so this seems like a very easy and obvious fix. Maybe it has been suggested 100xs already.. Im sure it has.

My Eng was the first to lv 80, and is still my #1 go-to for soloing in any PvE map, or grabbing some PvP trophies [I don’t WvW at the moment). When it comes to running dungeons though, I log into my Ele faster than you can say “nerfed”. I have yet to meet an Eng that can act as a decent tank (I’m calling anyone a liar, I’m just saying I personally haven’t met you yet). I love using my grenades underwater to blow the kitten out of the risen, but despite tinkering with my build and trying some of the “recommended” builds, I find that the Eng just falls short in 4 major dungeon capacities:
1) being able to remove conditions
2) not being a 1-hit wonder to most bosses
3) being able to destroy environmental targets (i.e. AC’s burrows)
4) Resurection ability – (i.e. if an ele goes down, they can mistform themselves, escaping further damage for a few seconds, and boogie back towards their group improving chances of a resurrection. A mesmer can teleport backwards as well, and leave a clone behind to be chewed upon. An Engineer? We have a weaka** attack, and the ability to pull an enemy closer to us so they can kill us faster. Needless to say, against any kind of boss, neither the harpoon skill nor the explosion power cause any kind of interruption or knockdown).

It’s been my theory for a while that certain classes are simply better in certain situations. Is there anyone that would argue that a Mesmer’s skills are better suited to PvP than dungeons? Or that Guardians rule the dungeon but are rather tedious to use for map completion? It’s not that any of them are unplayable (except for my Eng in Twilight Arbor… that was truly a horrible experience), just that not all classes can shine in all situations.

We have several ways to remove conditions, should be a non-issue. Even if your just swapping in the Elixir for a specific encounter but you can also trait for some of the best condition removal available to any class.

Your being 1 shotted? what are you running? 40+ Fracs? I run mostly glass cannon for my dungeons and I have no issues… try not getting hit

Destroying the world objects is only an issue to condition specs… not just to our class, all condition specs.

Our downed skills do kinda stink but the key is to not go down, or if your an elixir man just learn to pop your self res.

I have only ran into one primary ranged warrior and he was flamed endlessly throughout the run. I do use a rifle/longbow as a secondary depending on what I am doing but its more for when I need to back out and heal so I can maintain dps at a safe distance or for siege situations where its really my only option.

Most will spec into 2 melee weapon sets and carry both a longbow and rifle in their bags

Im cheap… I use the Power/Vit food for WvW and while running dungeons I do the extra coin/magic find food.

When in a Zerg Im usually dropping nades on their front/mid lines. Pretty much the same for choke points and siege/siege defense.

Only time I really swap to Rifle is while roaming when I need some extra control. When in smaller battles I still stick with my nades… but im usually pegging them face to face.

I havent used the tool kit since changing over all my gear to maximize my deeps : / I did enjoy it when geared for a it more survivability.

Disclaimer…. I hate spamming nades. I understand it may currently be our best dps option but its a playstyle I am tired of and dislike.

I mostly run instances and do WvW. I am currently running a pistol/pistol condition build stacking might around HGE.

Am I going to get flamed in harder EM dungeons/FOTM?

What other options do I have? any of you running pistol condition builds for FOTM and/or the harder EM dungeons?
