If you apply the skin, it’s one and done. As long as you save the staff you can continue to transmute it, but both items are destroyed in the process, of creating the new item…
What if they just take away the chests period, and it is strictly for achievement sake? Would you prefer no reward vs one you feel is measly outside of your account getting the achievement?
At least you can weapon swap at all, let alone can use nearly every weapon in the game…
But I see your point anyway.
Now that they have patched abuse of Nodes via them, this would be a nice option…
doest make any sense! lengendary dagger are much higher than others! mcuh higher

He is saying the components, and their rarity (thus their price), is not remotely comparable, for a 1 handed item vs 2. They should have definitely taken this into consideration…
I would go to the Microsoft site, and ensure you have all of the latest Windows Updates, and look for stability updates that might be optional. I’m with xcom though, your system specs are pushing the limit.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/windows-update
It has been confirmed that tweaking it can cause issues. Until they change this I wouldnt make any changes to it.
I second the curiosity on this…
This is completely accurate. However, if you pre-buy approximately what you would need, so that you won’t have to waste any time with the TP or running back and forth, you can pop a crafting XP booster. This can get you 15 levels instead of 10 per craft that you max.
I would say, if I only discovered the maximum highest difficulty items, while making items that used the lowest resources, 4 gold would probably do it on some but not all.
But if you did 4 different things, (I’d suggest Jewelry as one of them), and an XP booster, you could definitely get to level 60 off only 4 instead of needing 6.
You’ll only get xp, when you discovery new recipes, or craft recipes that are GreenishBlue, or Gold. If they are white, you are wasting resources (if your not actively using that item) as you get zero experience. I would focus on only making items that are GOLD in xp, and if you dont have them, then go to a site such as : http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/cook and discover some of the items at the level 25 range you are missing.
Best of luck.
If you have the ecto, it’s not unwise. If your broke, then I would stick with the rare version, but that goes for armor and weapons as well. I woudl focus on armour first, but if you have full exotic armour and 1-2 exotic weapons, then it makes sense, to know you have the best of the best in jewelry to top it all off. At this point, I have different versions of exotic jewelry, for magic find, and for crit damage.
GW1 has it, and I know several people have requested this. It stinks to realize your buddy you’ve been waiting for, has actually been on for 45 minutes, or guildies for that matter, who some, I don’t keep on my friends list due to redundancy…
Isn’t speed clearing it, finishing it in an hr and a half vs 3 hrs =P
The layers of clothing with weapons is definitely an issue. My Arah shoulder piece, clips through my staff pretty bad. And my warrior/gladiator’s shields clip through their armor also. But alas, yes, more types would be helpful, but I can imagine it took months to create all the skins. And unfortunately they leaned towards dresses and skirts, and rainbow staffs.
Not really sure why, but that’s what they chose to lean towards.
A compass would be nice to assist in players not getting turned around. I’ve had parts with people directionally challenged, especially in dungeons.
yeah pretty much all except the greatswords, greathammer and perhaps axe look like April Fools’ jokes. Those bows are absolutely horrible unless you’re a 9 year-old girl.
Hah. I wouldnt go that far, but would definitely say, that I think the rainbows is a little … flamboyant. Not to say that’s bad, just that I would really really like another option for all of us that use a staff.

I would put this in the “suggestions” thread, as they it’s much more likely to get looked at there.
Actually, based off what he said, it’s most likely what Ska wrote, which is that he still has one of the pieces on.
Why is Glyph of Storms so much better in earth/water than in fire/air?
in Elementalist
Posted by: Prophet.6954
because when you summon an elemental, the earth one is the weakest the fire one is CLEARLY the best so it all balances out in the end perhaps to make the stances equal?
Weakest how? Earth Ele may not dish out a ton of damage compared to the fire elemental, but he can take a lot more hits.
Just look at the item when you click on custom offer. You can get a better idea only THEN what items are selling for. This is what causes a listing of 50 things, with every single one being 1-5 copper apart.
Well, the thing is, Tier 3 cultural armour isnt changing in price, and neither is the cost to make exotic rings, nor the commander title..where as the price for dawn and dusk are only going up up up…I’d have kept it, but that’s just me. Having thrown in almost 20 gold worth of stuff myself.
Which is odd, because you can put in an offering price for them lol…
My (male) elementalist has Arah armour, and it too, just WOULD not look good with rainbows. I have zero hate on ANY of the designs. I think they are awesome. I don’t however think that all the designs are gender or class neutral. I for example, wont EVER use a scepter, as I don’t like the skillset, but I do like daggers and staff.
The daggers are just too small in my own opinion to warrant being legendary, and the staff, I would be honestly, embarassed to walk around with. Just saying. I think it looks really really good on a female caster. But even then agree, its far from fitting on a Necro, and even some other classes. Call me crazy, but a few more options would be pretty desirable, like there is for the greatswords.
Sorry for borrowing this thread. I’m already lvl400 jeweler. Now I don’t know what to do next with it? Do I need to farm ori? What exactly can I craft?
At 400 you can now craft Exotic jewelry. However, they do not automatically unlock. You must for 308 karma a piece, buy the exotic recipes off the Jeweler vendor. Instead of 3 jewels per piece, it takes 5, and requires Orichalcum instead of Mithril.
So, you pay for the jewel recipe and craft 5 of a single type of “Exquisite Jewel”then craft Orichalcum band/earrings/or hook and setting, and you can make an exotic Orichalcum piece.
Hah, happens to us all one time or another. Thanks for following up and glad it got squared away.
=)
If you search for Fort Trinity, there is already a post on this that the Devs have commented on as a known bug. Going alone worked for us, but even still it took a few tries.
Go here: for an explanation on our workaround that worked for both myself and my party member (Wasted a good two hours on this till we went solo and still took 2-3 tries until we did the below).
Just to be sure, can you confirm that it doesn’t have the “White Box” around it, showing it is on “auto”? Can you provide a screenshot of your skillbar while underwater? You might try “Ctrl + right click”ing your primary skill 1 auto attack?
This happened to us a good 5-6 times. Only going in solo, and only staying far back on the FAR outskirts worked. I let everyone die at the gate, then pulled the undead back to near the logging area JUST inside the green and fought. Then more spawned once I walked closer to the gate…and I pulled them and repeated. It took a good 15 minutes (after spending an hour starting over and over)
For those getting stuck on the first ‘talk to the guy’ part…
If you stay at the bottom of the ramp, let them talk the entire time, and dont move, waiting for the video start, that seems to be the best. If you walk up and try talking, it can prevent the video from ever happening.
Do you think that I as an elementalist, want cutesy rainbows all over? My elementalist is a tough looking cookie. He may be a master of the elements, but it is very tough to strike fear in the hearts of anyone with a cute stream of rainbows embodying my character.
It’s the sole reason I roled a warrior. They have really killer looking legendaries. The rest seem strictly designed for females characters. I don’t mind color, but would a hundred times over, enjoy darkness, or fire, or white light, or a little grey cloud that follows me everywhere, and casts useless lightnig bolts whenever i attack. Something….But yes, I definitely feel options are in order.
tldr: As a male elementalist, I have zero desire to be embodied by rainbows either. I’d be all over it for a female character but alas…
Just ensure you have discovered everything you can, that requires 350 skill level. Every amulet, ring, and band. You for sure, can get to 375, off discovery and making existing items that are at the 350 level. My other post on 375-400:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Jewl-crafting-375-400/first#post406963
+1 My buddy has not been able to use the trading post, since joining two weeks ago. But this probably belongs in the bug section, even though its related to the trading post, as its obviously not working as designed.
urtv has it right. Use discoveries & potions up to 390ish, then it only takes a couple of the rare karma recipe items to close the gap.
It is expensive to get the last 10 points, but it was dirt cheap to get the first 390, so I really had no complaints.
There arent “potions” for Jewel crafting. And to the person saying craft stuff till 390, that is horribly inefficient.
Below is the CHEAPEST and most efficient way to get from 375-400 hands down.
(Because everything turns blue/white @ 375, you have to burn through a LOT of resources, to try to make standard green jewelry, which wont pay for itself vs the below method)
Step 1) Get yourself to 375
Step 2) Buy 2 recipes of “Embellished Brilliant Jewel” from the vendor.
- Cheapest to make is usually Sapphire, Emerald, Coral, and Chrysacola.
(If you have specific ones you want, buy those of course!)
Each jewel requires 1 ecto, 1 mithril filigree, and 5 crystals.
Each jewelry piece however, requires 3 jewels.
Step 3) Craft each one 3 times, which should get you close to 390.
Step 4) Now, make 2 mithril hooks, 2 mithril bands, ankittenhril settings.
Step 5) Now “Discover” your newly made jewels into two bands and two different earings, and if that doesnt get you to 400, buy one more recipe, and repeat with that crystal.
Sell em at TP when your done if you don’t need them!
First off, thank you for listening to our suggestions. (Such as being able to honor our ‘hide this particular armour’ and have that ALSO show up on the character select screen!)
So, here is my thought, after experiencing first hand, and seeing people make comments about it:
1) Allow us to click a “hide non associated items” or something to the effect, to ONLY see armour/weapons that our class can use. It is no fun accidentally buying a medium chest piece from arah on accident… (When you needed light.)
2) Emulate the current buy back system for selling. Currently if I accidentally sell something, I can buy it right back from that merchant (Thank you btw!).
I and thousands of others can attest, would really like the same implemented for the flip side. From buying the wrong 45k karma weapon, 350 Arah Token chest piece, to accidentally buying two 2gold Master Skill books, buying more then you bargained for, is not fun in the slightest.
Thank you for what you already have done, and for hearing our suggestions. This is just a sampling of what I think would be icing on the cake to really round out the merchant experience.
Would love to see a token exchange option available… particularly if you accidentally bought a light armor piece when you can only use medium armor.
Why would you EVER want to buy a soulbound, non-sellable, non-salvageable, non-useable item???
Stupid double-click…
That’s possibly a separate suggestion? Just as I can’t buy a ‘book’ from a engineer trainer, as an elementalist, it might be nice to have a “hide” function on a vendor, OR the trading post, to hide things I can’t use/wear.
Even if they don’t allow this, just being able to sell things just purchased back to Karma/Token vendors, JUST like you can when you sell other items to them on accident, and can buy them right back, that would be huge.

Having save states and “passable leader” would get VERY tricky, as you could abuse it, by coming back in as leader, and bringing everyone in with you at 75% completion, then re-leave, which passes leadership, and they backfill the slot and proceed to only have to run the last say 25. Then when done, bring u back in to re launch them at 75 and repeat.
Or, you have guy 1, whos save is at 75%, save 2 is at 30. Which does it choose, and does it erase one over the other, when someone chooses to revert.
I noticed you didn’t add/factor in the hidden 10% tax for selling things?
Grats
Thanks for checking back and letting us know it worked out for you.
It actually was free for me, short of up front investment, as everything I made I was able to sell back at just above what I had into it, maybe losting a fraction of a few silver, due to fees/taxes of the darn TP. But Maybe spent 10 silver in all after profit/loss to go from 375-400. Not shabby compared to the horrible return on some of my other crafts.
I have noticed that female character look normal without leg armor and suddenly have skinny legs when the armor if on. This is valid only for humans not norns
My char loses all muscle tone upon dawning armor. Biceps no more, in his oddly rather very tight light armour. It’s either a robe, or skin tight armor that removes all definition of arms/stomache.
Looks good with your armor skins. Grats!
lejean, was it for sure a different shield then the one you can get from ascalon catacombs?
What if it’s not on the other side of the wall? What if it’s moved as the ghost says in your description? Remember, he says that his comrades died at the wall but he ran…what if he died @ the graveyard with the book and is just wandering.
He didn’t say that. He said having to rob the “Gift of Exploration” from another alt (thus having to complete %100 on an alt), and rob THAT character of the chance for a legendary, would mean that this recipe stinks of regurgitated omnomberry pie.
However, should you even be in this predicament, I’d be jealous…Just saying. =P
But, on topic, if it does, it does. It is probably the rarest weapon in the game, and as such, even to get one legendary at this point, seems futile for even those with money…to get two is unthinkable right now…and to instead, choose to get 2 and give them to a single character AND to turn what could have been a legendary for two different characters, into a legendary for one, is even more nuts…it definitely makes it a legendary legendary. ..
However, no one but devs accurately knows the recipe imo as no one is in that situation yet…
Why are you running around with armour 11 levels below you, when you can get green (what I used until 80) for around 10-12 silver? You can vendor off your old greens for not much more then you paid, or salvage the signets/runes and sell those…
It’s best to hit 80 and then worry about it. You get paid more for hearts, for events, and for zone completion rewards you get rares and exotics, and high tier crafting materials (t5 and t6 at the 70-80 zones). Point being, roll dungeons, and work in those level zones…
You spend as much as you make in the lower zones as the greens just arent worth as much, and the golds aren’t dropping as frequently.
To easily get from 375-400, buy yourself some globs of ecto and talk to the jeweler npc. (Purchase the recipe from the vendor)
There are 5 or 6: lvl 375 recipes, that require globs of ecto.
Nah. Best of luck. Glad it worked for you.
As others said, get some points in water, to a) improve healing, and b) add some hitpoints. I used almost solely staff and did just fine. If you pull more then you can handle, run. Use the earth shield, #3, and use your arcane shield. Use stuns/slows…
put Vitality runes on your armour. Get Vitality Runes, and balance out more…as glass cannons are useless when broken. If you don’t have a buddy tanking for you, you don’t have the choice…you have to diversify, and get half your armour and runes/signets in power/precision and the other half in vitality/toughness or vitality/healing. And same with your trait line. Take away some in power or precision and put it in water, for the extra HP.
And I don’t recall seeing it for quite awhile, but I do recall seeing this at one point…another issue, is a blue item might have a signet or rune, adding to the stats, where as a green might not? Did these items both have empty upgrade slots?
