If I don’t attack something on a dungeon run, I never get to loot it…(note you are all in a party in this scenario).

Not near my game so it’s a ballpark but for the exotic pieces, its around 120-330 depending on the piece. Weapons I believe are 330 or 350. If you want ‘rares’ instead of exotics, your looking at around 30-60 tokens.

And don’t forget, you can take up crafting to make your own exotics if dungeons aren’t your thing. (As well as purchase them, but you might as well craft them yourself should you want legendary weapons, as the gifts are account bound so you must craft them yourself)

There is no crafting skill that can craft the legendary items. You either get it from a chest or the forge.

At least they “Appear” to be purchable/sellable. I could be wrong…

Agreed. Or any item for that matter…Theres several times I’ve boughten two of something just from incidentally double clicking. Not fun whether its a 2 gold trait book, or a 45k karma item.

Don’t hate on the system. This stops it so you have the option mindlessly farm for months or just to be happy with your current armour. A lot of games like the unmentionable make armours with high stats ridiculously hard to get just to keep you on the sub.

This was an error shown up in a few places but isn’t true. The stats are the same confirmed by everyone who has posted a legendary thus far.

As for crafting, you can buy exotic insignia recipes from the tailor vendor, and craft I believe 6 different insignias, that create different stat exotic armour.

Others who have aquired them confirmed its soulbound on equip, and if you open trading post, legendary is a drop down. This in my opinion completely makes them not legendary since now its pay to buy vs play to aquire….it would be really awesome to know that the person with that weapon, got 100% world completion, and massive karma, and massive wvw fights, and the like, vs just throwing $1000 at the gem store, trading it for in game gold, and buying one.

I really like how the swords are gender neutral..however it does not seem to be that they made some of the other items that way…such as this staff, and the bow, and…the scepter.
I just can’t see my archer having little cute daisies pop up under him and around him and such…or being showered in rainbows. I officially no longer desire to finish the rest of my recipes for this which is a bummer.

I saw the “legendary” drop down in the trading post, and was seriously hoping that t obe a bug. Not at all legendary when it can be sold to the highest bidder.

If you look at the hundreds and hundreds of complaints, changing locals no longer works anymore post patch. Reportedly, you have to switch characters every 30 minutes, to not get whacked by substantial diminishing returns.

How does flooding the market with exotics become a win win? Just as with any zone completion reward, it isn’t relevant if it’s a weapon the person can use, thanks to the trading post. And flooding the market with exotics, means a realistic increase in flooding the market with legendary precursors. Some dungeons are very easy, and take a mere 30 minutes with a good group. Some have a much higher difficulty and can be upwards of hr and a half. Having that small amount of effort, not only provide exp, karma, and tokens, but now exotics too, just seems like even more of a fail on the economy. As it is, most mmos’ don’t provide ANY guaranteed rewards. They give us tokens that not only are gauranteed, but that we can use to buy the armour or weapons we want. I don’t think any more is needed?

I’ve been level 80 since mid september. I’ve probably leveled 40+ times. I’m still at 50% world completion, I’ve just recently spent the effort to get a mix of exotic dungeon gear, and exotic crafted gear I crafted myself. What do I do now? I’m going to finish my personal story, finish world completion, finish a few remaining dungeons on story line. In there and ongoing I’m going to mix in some pvp and WvW. Then I’m going to play some different races and classes…and do more of the same.

Not sure anything else is needed? As I do this, I’ll obtain the gold to get Tier3 Armour, if thats my fancy, or Arah Dungeon armour, if thats my fancy and have multiple armour sets, and 20 slot bags and the like…

How are we not rewarded along the way for exotic dungeon armour? You can get half your armour, in 1 stretch of 3 paths @ 60 tokens a path = 180. Do it with 3 characters in a day, and have 360 (they are account bound now, after all) and that is enough for even the most expensive chest pieces, and most of the individual items like gloves and helm, and boots can be had for under 180. And we get karma, and we get exp, and we get gold, and we get drops, for running the dungeon?

The only dungeon that is truly ‘prestigious’ in my own personal opinion is arah, due to its dungeon feeling difficulty. You compare a COF run at 30 minutes with a solid group, and that same group might take hr and a half on Arah (cursed shore dungeon).

I think it’s fine as is. And, you can craft exotic armour as well if you don’t want to do the dungeon grind, for yet even more unique sets, or buy karma vendor armour in places like Cursed Shore.

No, it doesnt “break for good” You just have a higher repair bill. It’s not uncommon to be streaking in Arah dungeon, and for a whopping 10.5 or so silver, your back in business and back at it.

Actually what you want to do is transmute it once its a legendary.
If you do it before, it’s been said on here unoficially that you wont be able to turn it into a legendary.

Some armour, weapons, sigils, and runes are drops only.

Just deleting the folder, versus doing a full uninstall within control panel could definitely leave things corrupted. Try going into control panel, and then depending on your windows version, programs and accessories, or “add remove programs” and try to properly uninstall Guildwars.

Honestly, they sold on the trading post for exactly what I spent to craft them, buying materials from the trading post. You lose a tad on listing fees/taxes, but you’ll hit 400 no question.

Not only could there be bugs, but also you might innerantly change the name on accident like my friend did, with 2 gold worth of ancient logs

I have had trouble with mail, and would strongly suggest to NEVER send items until you have done the following:

Send him a mail with only text. Let him not do the “mail to” function from right clicking an item, but instead, reply strictly to your letter. Then when you reply to his letter, drag and drop the items. I have had 100% sucess with this, and about 80/20 with the other. We have lost probably a good 5 gold between the 3-5 of us that share items (since we don’t have a guild bank yet).

I have had 2 zones out of 7-8 zones so far actually have something I need. It truly is random. The stinky part was, my friend who also was an elemental, experienced the same thing, we both consistently got swords, and heavy/medium armour rewards.
What can you do? Trade posted them up, lost my 15% tax and sellers fee, but I was able to purchase something that was pertinent to me.

How is it different? I haven’t used the Rune’s version but have used the latter hundreds of times in PvE and PVP.
You lose all weapon abilities in the elemental mist form, and if you use your heal or arcane skills it takes you out also which seems comparable?

Also, if you are poisoned, or burning, or taking some other ticking conditional damage, that proceeds, and you can even die while in mistform from conditions.

This goes for jewlery as well. It’s not bad to have a mix of say:
Saphire: Power/Healing/Toughness and
Beryl: Power/Vitality/Crit Dmg.
That gives a nice blend of power, toughness, vitality, and some crit dmg.
Also your armour signets/runes etc are all things to think about. Say Divinity runes, that give +5 to all stats (major). You could get 4 of those, and then apply Orbs of the particular benefit you want to the other 2 pieces. (Some non percentage (non magic find or crit dmg) Orbs give upwards of 48 to 3 stats, and can be applied directly to armour. )

The issue with “Boss #1 – 10 Tokens” etc, as this is how they had it, and people abused it by starting a dungeon, rushing to easy boss 1, killing him, and resetting the dungeon. They were able to farm tokens, albeit 10 at a time, with much more ease and could get say, 60 tokens an hour, when most others were spending 2-3 hours and not finishing, and walking away with 10-20.

I agree, its frustrating. But that’s in my own opinion, ok. I want it to be. I want it to take time to figure out, and to be a challenge, and not simply a time communicate and a 2 button mash.

Many other MMO’s dont gaurantee drops. Its random, and you might run a dungeon just as hard, that takes 3-4 hours to beat, and STILL get nothing, for months. Here, they in my own opinion, spoil us, by guaranteeing tokens. And on top of that, you get to choose what you want. Other places, you might farm a dungeon for a month, and get a staff you can’t use, that’s worth half of the sword you were aiming for…

tldr; We are lucky they gaurantee rewards at all, and on top of that, give us tokens and allow us to pick the reward. I think that’s huge …

Are you using random wifi spots all over, or is this an issue of a DSL company continually renewing your IP address daily?
If your on DSL, have you requested a Static IP?

I have cable, and a 20 meg connection, and it’s not uncommong for mine to surge for a bit, but then at times, slow all the way down to near dialup speeds. I’m not sure what is wrong with the download server but it’s been happening to me for some time.

Outside of all the drop down boxes, did you select “use hi res character textures” checkbox at the bottom? There’s I believe two different check boxes for textures.

Can you get a static ip from your ( I assume) DSL company?

Experienced this as well. Went from 45-60 down to 5-10. Tried all kinds of things…thought my cpu was overheating or my gpu. Cooled them off, shut down my pc, turned off my overclocking, ensured everything was closed (software wise), and after a fresh reboot, it was dog slow. I thought maybe it was the bombs, and animations from the torches…turned off just everything and it was as other’s have called bad fps, a “powerpoint presentation”. Never had a cave experience in there or elsewhere like this before.

Hopefully this gets patched, but I would stick to taking in game screenshots and submitting bugs that way. I would avoid submitting them on the forum and explaining how it’s done.

Also, if you notice, gw2 is in its own directory, but all the DATA is somewhere else…not sure why they did it this way but it seems inefficient. Either way, I would look at both the folder gw2.exe is in, and ensure the folder security settings are mirroring other games. Also theres another folder within program data or program files, and another folder in your users directory (hidden), tied to guild wars that accesses your graphic settings and the like. You might look at all these and ensure they all have the right settings on them.

You might also right click gw2 shortcut, and set it to “run always as administrator” as it might be jumping through hoops to get the best performance…

Also check your performance setting…ensure windows itself is set to “High Performance” for the power side of things.

He mentioned rares selling for 15 on his server which regardless, I haven’t seen a rare under 20+ in weeks.

Speaking of which, my wife’s laptop is a $399 ‘cheapo’ but thanks to the i3, it can play GW on low everything and anything i can turn off, off. But, in a pinch, it works

Nearly all $300-$800 ‘pre-built’ computers regardless of when you bought it, come with an “on the motherboard” video card. These are almost never going to perform well for gaming unless its playing farmville on facebook. Laptop or desktop, this is usually an issue.

Hah…I wish those things were only ‘pickupable’ by the person that laid them down…thoughts?

The other issue could be: With non ‘undead/risen’ they are all unique creature types, with ‘risen/undead’ it seems like it lumps all of them into the same category. So rather then risen bulls, sharks, grubs, warriors, eagles’ etc all being different…my guess is it is lumping all of them into one bucket…

The only “real” way to create a bank alt is to have a second copy of the game. With that, you can then mail items to the bank alt for storage. Be aware, though, that some gear (not sure about crafting materials) may not be retrievable after being mailed to the bank alt. I created a second account for this purpose and found out that the light armor I sent to the elementalist banker for storage until my “real” elementalist levelled a bit could not be mailed back as the banker could potentially use it one day (was the right armor class, therefore useable someday).

In this case though, It would make more sense to probably just buy more character / bank slots vs spending the $60 on a seperate game. *Especially with all the “account bound” items these days. *

I have a micro…and although I saved maybe $30 at the time, I detest it…Especially when you get into gaming video cards, that take up 2 slots, and prevent you from putting anything in the 3rd…oye. I literally have room for a sound card and thats it. As for your power supply. 750 is more then ample enough. I run a 2 gig 6870 on a 550 with zero issues. 750 should be plenty unless of course, you mentioned running two, and in that case a 1000 might not be bad.

Btw I’ve always been an intel guy…but my performance with an overclocked Black Edition AMD, especially at the pricepoint, allowed me to get NEAR the cpu performance, and dump a LOT more into the GPU…again your call…I was trying to upgrade on a budget, as I also play xbox now and then. You could put the money saved towards an even higher end AMD, and get an SSD while your at it.

One more note, if you DO go with running your other card for Physx…DEFINITELY don’t go with a micro mobo. The heat alone from having those close together would hinder performance.

I have seen them not “always” have an “orange sliced in half” over their head.
Many times its “hey you look like a buff cookie, can you be my hero?” type comments from them, and then they run back to their “please talk to me to start the awesomeness” position awaiting your action to confirm you’ll lead them to safety.

Im running the 68x series with most things on medium/high. I have a few things turned down just as I like to stay in that 60fps range even during boss battles and the like.

So your 7850 or 7770 bot will work excellent.

There are numerous threads on this, but you do so by holding alt, then trying to drag the stack. It will bring up a box where you can then type in the # you want to seperate from that stack. Then you can mail that new sized stack to a friend/party member.

Not bad, not bad. I don’t see any rares above level 65 selling for less then 20 on our server now that people area aware you can get ecto’s from them.

To help you out (Tech Person for a living, just recently made this switch)…
There are a few things to turn off, and there are a few things to run to improve performance.

Perform it all at your own risk…but this is a standard protocol performed to make the switch.

1) a)Turn off Hibernation
b) Turn off sleep mode, and set HDD power down to off.
2) Turn off paging file (control panel/system/advanced system settings/performance settings/advanced/virtual memory. Click no paging file.

3) Turn off Drive Indexing (my computer/right click drive, settings/uncheck drive indexing. (Hit ‘ignore all’ for the files it doesnt want to touch)
4) Set your pc to Hi Performance.

5) Very important. Turn off Superfetch.
(Google it, I don’t want to lookup the long regedit link, but just search for “Microsoft disable superfetch” and youll find the registry entry to change (make a backup first)

6) Enable a large system cache within registry. (Again, look this one up but if you cna’t find it, i’ll send you the reg entry)

7) Disable the ‘service’ of superfetch and disk defrag. (Control panel/admin tools/services. Double click superfetch, and change startup to disabled. And repeat for Disk Defrag)

8) Run Windows Experience Index (Control Panel/Performance Information and Tools/

The windows experience allows it to detect its an SSD and perform better.

I am now in an instance 15-25 % faster then previous. Hopefully that all helps.

I’m with Auris. You have “used” your serial account to create an account. From now on, everything is tied to your e-mail/pw/account name ‘specter.9865’. I don’t see any reason for you to try to retain it?

What server do you play on? Hop over to Stormbluff, my guildies and I are very active and would be happy to help. The other option is don’t SAY you are new, and just follow along.
If you can pay close attention, and do your traits for survivability so your staying alive vs being someone downed all the time, you should be able to tag along just fine. We have ran several dungeons with guys and they were only a nuisance when they were not paying attention and getting themselves killed, and thus us killed…

Also, don’t be afraid to just say (once your inside), hey this is my first run on this ‘xyz’ route. I should be fine, but if there’s anything I need to know, feel free to throw it out there.

Every single dungeon piece, has 2-3 combinations at least, so there are some options there.
But even some legendary items have undesirable stats to me, so I assume it was intended, thus the transmutation stones.

There are a large # of us East and West Coast USA players on Stormbluff Isle.

If you go into Options, it has a button to the effect of “Auto Select Target”. If you turn that off, even if you press the attack buttons, your shot will hit the ground and not target.

I can confirm, this is the ‘measly’ experience you get at those levels. And also can confirm, that many events trigger, off environment interaction. Asking why the people are sick (green skulls above their heads) in queensdale for example, triggers the “water is polluted”.
All of the escort quests are usually npcs in town, and if no one talks to them, nothing gets started…and since that ‘escort’ quest doesn’t start, you never run into the one after since they didn’t get their supplies from the cart, that says patrol the perimeter of the keep, etc etc.

I experienced even very early, bouncing between overflows and such, that at times events were heavy and frequent, and other times slim to none and some I started myself, only to have to bail on as no one was around.
