You can actually knock people down from walls in WvW,with #5….however it is really hard to do, requires positioning and a lot of luck.

I would like sigils working for our grenades, but engineer is still a very strong profession.
If you want a “sniper kit” or “rifle from a warrior” or “weapon swapping”. You are playing your profession wrong, or you’re bad.
I do think OP is onto a bug that I’ve noticed occasionally.
Sometimes I notice that it revives instantly, when in reality, you never enter downed with 80% or higher HP, so it shouldn’t be doing that.
I doubt the instant revives are intended, but the longer ones are.

i dont know,running around and pooping out bombs is working great for me, only tough challange was 1vs1 with a thief in condition damage,i would get 20k of bleeding damage to the end of the battle….
I just double tap 1,or 2…i double tap every skillshot now..
This is actually interesting.
You have to decide where you want to be with your build, but you are on the right way. I thouth of a “con-damage” grenadier myself but never tested it.
Personally i am rolling with “power/precision/crit. damage” gear. And it is really effective with grenade kit + rifle.
Oh and 5% of one stat bonuses,are pretty weak,i think you can spend those skillpoints for something else.
as for gear :
Condition damage, Crits,Power → Rampagers gear. And i would reccomend you getting “30% chance on crit = burn” if you’ll go there.
Con. dmg, power, vitality → Carrion gear. This would focus on bleeds more,but i think in that case pistol + pistol might be better.
For raw power and crazy bursts,take berserker gear.
Utility skills:
6.I use Med kit(with permaswiftness ofcourse)
7.Elixir U (If its a smoke-screen you can use it with your rocket jump,to stealth) or Slick shoes.
8.Elixir S (really helps with burst-like builds like every thief and hundered blades warriors) or Utility goggles(10 stacks of vuln. even more crazy burst)
And Supply crate.as it is the best elite skill you can have (controll,med-kits,net turret,regeneration….so good)

There is no point in this thread, it is not helpful in any way. Just seems like a guy ran around in wvw for a couple of hours in the right build.
And bear in mind those “2-3” guys could be any level from 1 to 80. Even after that,there are people who are simply not that good.
However engineer is really powerful when played properly, i think of writing a guide on my grenadier build, however i dont think ill post in on this forum, probably will go on reddit.
Oh,and Elixir S trait is pretty powerful.
Necromancers are in a worse condition (Get it?) than us.

you do not need a rifle,how about static shot? glue shot? With a shield you can block\knock them back\daze\stun.
How does that limit you in any way?

Bomb kit -big ol bomb

We have kits,that is the way to play engineer…use your kits. Using both weapon and kits is the most effective feature of engineers, as they have no swap cooldown time (1 second,that is enough)and can do really nasty combos. But yeah, shure…it is easier to make multiple topic on the matter “engineers are underpowered” than to learn at what your class excells.
For somebody trying to level up,try using condition damage gear,and do something like:
Glue shot,Blowtorch
switch to flamethrower,
air blast, flame blast
(do not remember proper skill names,as i used this combo when i was leveling).
Pistols = condition damage,a lil bit of control.
RIfle = utility,control,raw damage.
Kits…kits is where you shine, use your weapon in combinations with certain kits.
Oh and about thieves,as rifle-grenadier in bers. gear,i can say that those Heartseeker spammers are pretty hillarious. Overcharged shot or net shot+grenade barrage…dead thief.
Charging warrior with a greatsword? Net shot,and you laugh in his face while he is charging in 1 place.
um, turrets are still alive when youre downed…
Same here,it is really useful for speedy kits (perma-swiftness),and it heals me for 4.920 from toolbelt skill,while also having a cooldown of 18s with my build (10 points in tools). med-kits are amazing for fight preparation,or escape route (3k heal and -1 condition).
Well warrior is better in long range combat,but he does not have any controll,apart from rifle butt. But that is just the thing…Warriors are a different class…and considering a sniper kit,or changing rifle abilities is like that time every boy played with action figures My spiderman can fly,use heat vision,and have Wolverine claws. Only thing engineer lacking is something like a weapon bonus(and sigils) on kits.
I rarely loose a fight with my build.
I love grenades,especially barrage coupled with some traits…and a rifle. And grenades are pretty good in pvp Not at long range ofcourse,but some people actually DODGE them at 1500 range,then go for you…without any dodges left. blunderbuss Woops net shot woops 5-10k grenade barrage aaaand knockdooown…
No,they are not. The only thing bad about engineers is weapons and sigils,not working on kits.
oh and btw…i dont think an underpowered class can deal 10k(if properly executed) burst damage while also controlling you…
Forget about rne of the eagle,thay are way overpriced,i used 4 runes of the ranger on mine,and 2 runes of….Ogre i think,Ranger has the same bonuses as eagle apart from the last one.
2 ogre runes give me +2% crit damage and 20% fury duration(wich i really love) but you can always fill those 2 slots with something like “Superior rune of Divinity” (10 to all stats and +2% crit damage per rune)

I think a good skill to have for the engineer would be some sort of charge shot: you hold down the skill button and the longer you hold it, the more damage it does. Would be a good replacement for one of the two blunderbuss-esque skills we have. Would definetly help with keeping our distance.
Honestly….if this goes on,the next thing will be “i want thiefs pistol whip on my engie”…
Guys,try different playstyle…or roll a warrior.

Charr! As most medium armors look terrible on us…but hey! Atleast you do not have to search for good looking pants and boots,they look almost the same! Oh,and helmets are a no-no since they hurt your horns.

Well then…how about rolling a Rifle warrior?
Engineer rifle skills are perfect, everything is in there for a good reason. “But warriors have range,and damage” Well we have bleed, net shot, knockback and a 600 range leap.
If you want raw damage from your auto-attacks, you chose your class poorly. Now im not saying that rifle engineers are not viable,they are. But they bring a lot more to the table than damage.
Try using your skills and kits,in combos to rifle(we have no swap cooldown). Engineers are op,you just have to play and build them right.
