Update: uninstalled.

Kept trying to appreciate HoT but it’s just not fun.

Thank You ANet that You made Heart of Thorns!

After the second attempt at exploring the HP under Auric Basin after meta events, and being mercilessly forced onto another map for a second time before the final meta event, I just want to reiterate how frustrating anet has made map exploration with this expansion – literally more frustrating than back when we had to explore WvW forts for credit.

Between the lack of raid accessability, dungeons, 4 maps with gated exploration, and 45 day breaks between being able to work on the pvp legendary, it feels like FOTM is the only thing anet has right at the moment.

tl;dr: Thanks for wasting 90 minutes of my time (twice in a row) attempting to explore AB.

Raids feel inaccessable - here's a solution

I think it has less to do with how many kills, and perhaps a better gauge would be an achievement that relates to mastering the mechanics of a fight. For example, beating VG without getting teleported the entire fight or something similar

It feels this way because there is no “LFR tool” so most of the time you end up joining a group for open world content and have to convince someone that you’re qualified enough to even attempt the content. A lot of people only want to group with other experienced players with 10+ kills or whatever so the ability to find groups capable of downing the content bottlenecks considerably because experienced raiders only want to group with experienced raiders.

A good solution to this problem would be to add a LFR tool with an additional incentive options for experienced players who group with less experienced players. A bonus chest, magic find percentage, raid currency reward, or even some kind of “mentor” currency. This gives an incentive for players familiar with the raid to incorporate new players and bring them into the raiding culture rather than shut them out.

HoT confusion

I have the same opinion. This idea of “progression” is just annoying, and since there are no new dungeons or anything sometimes I log in to play and just forego anything HoT related and do fractals or something that’s actually fun

Why is necro healing so underrated?

Thank you for the responses. The original reason I asked this question is because I’ve been doing very well with healing power in conquest as well as dungeons. I recently face tanked cave troll in AC with minions and was really impressed at the sustainability necro has with a settler’s set for instance.

Since they released the new amulets, I’ve been playing around with mender’s amulet and I feel like it’s even tankier given that you can run sigil of blood on dagger! I love it.

Anyhow the healing has been working for me for a while and I was just curious why it never caught on. With minions it’s been a lot of fun at least in my experience

Revenant = ritualist + warrior

Best way to get a legendary is to stay home from work for a month and flip stuff on the TP.

That, or go to work and buy gold…

Update: Thanks to the buggy nature of the mordremoth fight, me and some friends went from phase 2 directly to phase 5 and killed him.

TIP: If you make a 180 degree turn every 2-3 seconds during the rock throwing phase, you won’t get hit. This applied to basic gliding too.

So HoT was released with 4 maps. A little disappointing, but okay. You can’t explore the maps completely without masteries, and that irked me because I like to explore 100% before continuing, but I decided to do the storyline in the meantime. But you can’t progress that without masteries either. So it’s story, farm, story, farm, story, farm…

So I’m at the mordremoth fight, and apparently it’s really hard to dodge the rocks without even more masteries… So back to the farm.

I understand “gating” certain things, but in the future could you not gate the storyline and map exploration?

2.5k x 5 targets = 12.5k, and if you don’t have to use shroud, double tapping it actually does not consume any LF

Just by using the “Life from Death” and “Speed of Shadows” traits, the necromancer can heal 5 people for an absolutely massive amount of damage every 6 seconds just by double tapping shroud. Why aren’t people using this?

Imagine if you’re playing monopoly and got sidetracked into doing something else and then your friends said “We’re not letting you play monopoly with us for 3 days.” You would think to yourself “Wow they take monopoly pretty seriously.”

I personally dont think I will continue playing again simply because the first two “flags” to my account I was totally unaware of and I don’t feel like getting arbitrarily blocked from playing every now and again because I got distracted by something

"Dishonorable" debuff is too long

Hi everyone! Been a longtime fan of GW and GW2 however I just got back into GW2 after breaking for about 6 months. I really enjoy the PvP but today I had the dishonorable debuff applied to me. I have never seen it before until now so I am assuming it’s a newer addition to the game. Earlier today I left a match early because my family was about to head to the store – one strike right? Well apparently I had two others that I was unaware of and the debuff was applied to me. Today is a thursday, so the 72 hour debuff prevents me from playing all weekend basically. It kind of killed my vibe as I was just starting to get back into the game. This kind of thing alienates players like myself who are getting into PvP and may not necessarily intend to cause grief to other players. An hour or maybe even a few hours sounds reasonable but preventing a player from accessing half of the gaming experience for such an extended period of time seems excessive to me. Anyone else have two cents on this topic?
