Well I for instance think it’s necessary that wsad keys doesn’t break kneel – thanks to this you’re able to perform a directional evade and shoot immediately, without having to kneel again.
But standing up with jump key seems reasonable
Well there are core specs that benefit core weapons (not sure if there is one for longbow)
But I still like the general idea. Say, they added an Elite Spec that would focus on longbow. To not make it to powerful, it would not add much new functionality to the class, just focus on buffing the longbow OR add new functionality to the weapon. With this spec you’d get traits that benefit that specific weapon, along with non weapon specific traits to choose from. Instead of getting a new weapon with the Elite Spec you would..
Get a different set of weapon skills! Preferably a set that changes the way you use the weapon. No, not using bow in melee..
What I’m thinking is, for example Gunslinger spec for a thief would change pistols so that instead of focusing on one target, your pistol skills now work more on aoe and have interruption skills maybe.
But this was just an instant idea, needs some thinking into
Hello, I have a simple question.
I’m from Poland but currently I’m in the UK and I’ll be staying here till December I think. Can I buy HoT here now or do I have to do some complicated account transfer thingie or something? I’d really like to pre-purchase
I’m definitely going to buy the expansion. Collectors edition, if they release one. I couldn’t get it for the original game though because of the hype that crashed the online retailer’s site for an hour and after that, all their collector editione were gone
And for all of you that worry about deleting old characters – in GW1 each expansion was adding two new professions AND two character slots for your account. So I’m pretty sure HoT will give us another character slot for that Revenant!
Well, if this hang-gliders are available in other maps, I think they will not be a “skill”. They would work kinda like the diving googles. I would like them to NOT work that way, but it seems to be the only reasonable approach, unless they are exclusive to the Heart of Maguuma area.
You selfish racist fool..
Don’t you really see it? If you wouldn’t have been treating us like this from the beginning, most of us would not be so susceptible to dragon’s influence. And now that we are trying to resist its power, now that we have to face such a burden, struggle to change our destiny.. Now you turn your back on us? After all we’ve done to help save this world? YOUR world?
Fine. But know that we’re not your enemy. And we shall keep trying to restore balance, with your help or not. Before you raise your sword, make sure it doesn’t fall on you.
The point is that it fits well in any time of turmoil. it was written for the fight against Zhaitan though. I’m pretty sure Ree has talked about writing it in an interview. I have no idea how to find it though. It’s great that the song is so re-applicable. I think she did an amazing job with it.
Well thinking of it now, I can’t really imagine her saying: “this song was written to describe future events that will lead to an expansion”
I’m not saying it was, but it could potentially have been written FOR Zhaitan fight but with having HoT in mind. I don’t think that’s how it went but it would be cool if it did :P It’s an amazing song anyway. Which makes me want to listen to it so bad now. Which always makes me want to immediately start playing GW2. Which is not the best of ideas now, since it’s half past midnight here, heh.
Well who cares, I have to listen to it now..
Ok then, that’s good to hear. Thank you very much
Ok, so I’m not sure if this is the proper section for this question, please move it if it’s not.
I think I remember hearing something (long time ago actually) about region locks. Are they still a thing? I live in Poland. The problem is, I’m moving to UK for work, for the next 4 months or so. Will I be able to log in from there? I would not like to miss the season 2 of Living World and I wanted to make sure if I don’t have to do some account magic in order for this to work.
Even though I don’t like to miss the content, I’m still glad it was there when I wasn’t playing. That’s what makes MMOs different from SP games – the world is there and it’s living, whether you play it or not.
You say it is bad to make temporary content. Well, it’s your opinion and I respect that, even though it’s far different from mine. But I think you shouldn’t just jump on ANET for having a different view. Your whole post comes down to a single thing – that in the Living Story you only see the achievements. It’s your playstyle and it’s ok. But you should respect other’s opinions and not speak for everyone, yelling at the developers that their concept is a “failure”. There are people who play for achievements, and there are people who play for the story. And the whole point of the story is that it’s dynamic, it has to proceed forward, not stand still in one spot. Yes, I’ve saidI regret that I missed some content. But it was my fault, or my life’s fault that I couldn’t play. And I can only blame myself, not the developers.
Not really. I only said that to point out that if there’s anything I regret, it’s the story I missed, not the achievement points I can’t get anymore. I regret that I COULDN’T be there for this part of LS. But I’m still glad it was temporary because if it wasn’t, the world wouldn’t feel alive to me Read my post carefully and respond to it as a whole, not just to a single sentence because that might lead to pointless semantics arguement.
“Geijitsu wa bakuhatsu da”
There are people out there who really like the concept of temporary content and can appreciate it, you know. Great things come and go, and so is the LS content, and because it’s temporary, it gives you that feel of the living world. Nothing is permanent in the real world.
Yes, Living Story has its flaws, but it’s not the idea itself that’s a failure. Think about it, how real would Tyria feel if it wasn’t changing at all? If every patch was adding permanent content? We would be fighting Scarlet million times, years after her death and that would make no sense.
As for missing the content.. Well, I was out of the country last year and I haven’t been able to play for 3 months. I missed the aetherblades patch, the jubilee, voting for Ellen, all that. And I don’t care about the achievements I don’t have. I only regret that I couldn’t experience the content and story. Because that’s what this game’s all about for me. If I wanted to just get points, I’d go play tetris.
So basically, you can’t just jump in here and “predict” the future of the game based on just ONE point of view, one opinion. Because not everyone is the type of player you are, and everyone is enjoying different things.
Well, nobody said that we’ll fight Mordremoth in the next season of the Living Story. What I think about it, is that this first season was to INTRODUCE this new dragon to the world. The next season will probably be about the consequences of waking him up or something, but we’ll probably also get a personal story content where we’ll be figuring out a way to defeat him.
As far as I know, ANet said that PS will be about fighting dragons, and LS about other dangers. With that in mind, it would make sense if we were to fight his champions/minions/whatever in the LS and the dragon himself in our PS. I think.
Living Story was not perfect, yes. Did it hold the game back? Maybe. But remember that this whole LS season was probably planned ahead, and it was more of a test thing. I can’t remember seeing something like this in other MMOs, and innovation is always a good thing, even if it’s not perfect at first.
I believe the LS will improve from this point, as the devs will be able to implement everything they’ve learned so far. In season one, with the story already planned, they were unable to make drastic changes without ruining the plot, I think.
Abigael Thorn – 7/10, I think single word names are more suitable for sylvari
Azaelis – 9/10, It sounds really good!
I think It would help with rating if we gave a bit more details about our characters.
Aithaen – male thief
I took a break from GW2 for about two months and now when I’m back, I’ve noticed that the e-mail authentication doesn’t work for me anymore. I mean, it looks like it’s disabled or something and I can simply login without authentication. I’m using dynamic IP but I have no problem with it, and I’d like it back
Also, is there a way to remove authorized networks from the list?
