Linking is a great idea but it is being poorly executed. Anet needs to decide if they really want to fix balance or just make money to the point wvw dies because of greed.
The beta linking start should never have had the top servers being linked especially BG. What was the point of linking the top server only to make it pennies to stack the server linked to BG.
Enough time has already passed in this beta to see unlinking the top server or servers needs to happen now to help the bottom servers. Anet has the inside numbers and scoring to see what is going on and does not need 3 months to act for beta server linking. This is beta and we get that!
Example: Unlink Eredon from BG and Kaineng from TC. Add to to bottom ranked servers.
Blackgate plays alone
Tarnished Coast plays alone
N Shiverpeaks, Sorrow’s Furn add Kaineng
Darkhaven, Ferguson’s add Eredon
Based on the current evolution you could even unlink the top 3 as to help the lowest 3 ranked in the current beta and help the evolution rating increase to complete and create more variety in matchups.
Even go a step further and if it means the top 6 servers don’t get linked and the bottom 6 are linked to create rating evolution balance for match ups, then so be it. Anet has to numbers to know how far they can go to help the low pop servers.
Server linking also needs to be updated at least once a month to help get the balance and evolution rating working sooner rather than later and this will only add to more variety in BALANCED match ups which most everyone wants.
Anet needs to consider locking server transfers once and for all for the good of the game. Otherwise what is the point of linking and using linking to help balance the game.
The current system only encourages guilds to game the system and stack the top servers or server of the month they choose if they want. We also have servers gaming to keep evolution rating down so they won’t move up or down by telling people not to play said week or they are having a push week so all play now.
Does Anet really want wvw as a whole to thrive or is it all about money with transfers and stacking? Sure you will have a few complain… “but I want to play with my friends”. That time has come and gone with how long the game has been out now.
What is sad is Anet originally was not going to allow transfers when game came out and then said they would open it up temporary to friends and family for a couple weeks to a month and then lock. They should have stuck with that plan and only opened up the low ranked servers to really help with balance as the game moved along and developed from the beginning. The evolution ratings gap and variety matchups would have never gotten so out of control had Anet stayed with the plan. We all know how tournaments added to the problem with open transfers.
Linking can work but Anet needs to make a choice of what is really good for the health and future of wvw and it will not make the guilds happy that like to stack servers and game the system.
And new players to the game should be steered to the bottom 3 servers whoever they are as evolution and ratings progress each week.

We all know its not that involved to shuffle the deck and make either the Silver or Bronze league the 6 Server division this time around, and yes this was meant for the NA Tourney. The more Devon seriously looks at this idea of rotating Gold, Silver and Bronze for each Season or Tourney, the more it makes sense and benefits the health of WvW overall. It is time for Anet to once again shake things up as they did in Season One and make either Silver or Bronze the 6 league division this time around. After all the moving around and stacking for position, it will once again make things more interesting. If one examines the current league variation from season one layout from top server to bottom server is the worst for Silver league and way out of line compared with Gold and Bronze variance from top server to bottom server.
As the Tourney’s and Leagues are something that will continue, the suggestion of rotating Gold, Silver, and then Bronze to be the 6 league division will keep it fresher and better balanced as players and guilds move around. The top Gold league appears it will always be stacked, but to demoralize with the disparity and the huge variance in Silver and Bronze with the current layout will just continue to make things worse for the middle and bottom servers and no question the seasons less fun. Please Mix it up Anet. Keep it interesting and fun for more than just the Gold Leagues top 6 servers with even competition.

If it is capped at 250 achievement points, the how come I am no longer getting points after 141. Each time I complete 200 salvages, it stays at 141 and is no longer giving the +2 points. Did the cap change? And if so, why is it keeping my number stuck at 141 times I’ve have done the Agent of Entropy? Please explain why some of us are not getting the 250 times that others seem to have already achieved. This is not fair for sure if something changed. If this is a bug, I would like to know too. Thank you all. GW2 has a Great bunch of people playing this game. Amazed at all the help and offers in game.
If combo killer has been deleted from the daily, then why is it still showing up in daily? And why does Daily Kill Variety not tabulate as things are killed? How are we suppose to get our daily done? Very frustrating….
I still find it hard to believe anybody would buy at these prices when you could buy potatos for 40 to 42 copper each for last few days and weeks. I’m pretty sure some made a fortune off what took place. Wish it had been me but it thought it was just was not right after selling potatoes for 40 copper only minutes before this happened.
I sent bug reports shortly after it happened with picture. Also of the testing I did. Something had to be wrong as no orders were being filled for almost 2 hours and then everything either got bought up or just plain disappeared. I still say the wierd part is how there then started to be listing after listing in the 70 silver range pop up almost instant after it happened. Those 70 silver string of listings were up about 5 to 10 minutes and then those vanished as well.
Very sad to see the amount of minipulation going on with the market in this game if what is happening with Potato’s is not some kind if bug that Anet needs to be aware of. Potato’s have been steady for weeks and months and all of sudden, the entire market is bought up and then relisted in the 70 silver range. Not five minutes after a big list of sales in the 70 silver range, they are gone with now a listing at 50 silver and more trickling in realizing the big gap in buy sell profit margin. So we went from 40 copper to 70 silver in seconds. Slowly watching it come down but the more interesting part is the fact that orders I had in to be filled have not been filled for over 2 hours while this happened. Now more orders are being put in because there is such a huge gap but still not sure any are being filled?

After being tired of horrible frame rates, I set out and purchased a new vidio card (GTX 560 TI) only to now to keep getting dumped from the game to my desktop with a nice little box that says to send report to anet. I have updated to latest drivers, tweaked per the instructions on your forum, tried the latest beta, also tried 306.23, 306.63, 306.41 verson drivers and have lowered everything to lowest settings possible. My older card has horrible frame rates but at least it didn’t dump me to desktop. I had been running the (Gforce 8800 GTS) before this new purchase.
I would consider upgrading a whole computer system, but everything I read is frame rates are horrible on newer systems as well with your game. Very sad considering how long I have been a GW1 fan and trying to be a GW2 fan. Where is the fix? When is the fix? Am I left with taking vidio card back and just giving up on this Guildwars 2 game? Please help….

P.S. I ended up doing this by myself with no help and made sure I died a couple of times defending the gate. It worked this time.
update… I Was finally able to finish this part of personal story. Not sure if the reason I could not advance was because I had somebody with me helping with story and that person was a level 80 that already had finished this story all the way to end game. Not to mention, we were always able to kill everything together and never died nor did the npc’s have much of a chance to destroy or do whatever they might have needed to do. What I did this time was let all the cut scenes in beginning finish playing along with ever other one that finally came up, and made sure to die a couple times while actually defending the gate where the story would hang up, and finally the part that was getting stuck advanced to the next cut scene and was able to finally work through the rest of Battle of Fort Trinity. Not sure why this is bugged with another person who has completed 100 percent of map and finished his own personal story that included this Fort Trinity. However, I’m finally done with this after wasting many hours and frustration with the bug. Thank you for listening and still believe there is some kind of bug with another person helping or something not completing because we kill everything too fast.
I have been trying to continue my personal story for weeks and hoping this would be fixed by now. We get through the first cut scene to point we are to defend the gate and get 2 to 3 waves of enemy npc’s and kill them all and then we stand around waiting for something to happen. We ran all over the map thinking maybe a npc got stuck. Have tried this over and over and even let the npc’s kill everything including the arrow carts and still the story will not advance. Is this ever going to be fixed so we can get our rewards for finishing our personal story? Please please resolve this problem.
Also of note, I have been on main server and not able to get on overflow as there have been a few comments it works on overflow server. No way to know or verify if this is true or not.
It has been several days and it would be much appreciated if you would fix the Skill Challenge: Defeat Klakka the Brainy Pirate as it still is not working. It lights up when you get to the area but nothing is working. It has been this way for the last 3 days and it is the last thing I need to finish this map. Thank You for the Great Game!
