With the engineer class I don’t think it is all about their damage output but more with their CC and kiting. If you play your engineer well you can kite and CC someone for a really long time. Also GW2 is more of a team game when it comes to WvWvW, PvP and Tournament play. So you have to fill your role within PvP.

Also I don’t really see this as a question but more along the lines of complaining.

I don’t think it hurts crafters at all. If anything it forces you to experience more of the game. If you don’t want to explore the game just buy all of the mats on the trading post.

This could be useful but at the same time Minions for Necromancers have different utility than the minions/pets for a ranger. While I do agree they do die pretty easily but at the same time they serve a different purpose than the rangers pets.

Both classes are really difficult to kill. Guardian has more heals, but less HP than a warrior. Both classes are good and perform well in PvP. I would just flip a coin if you don’t want to get a feel for either class. :P Otherwise just make both classes and go to the Mists and try out SPvP with both and decide that way.

I have noticed many posts from new players regarding choosing a profession or which profession is the best profession and etc. Well what new players need to realize is that there isn’t really a “best” profession. What new players need to know coming into this game is that the “best” profession is the one that you enjoy playing the most. So for new players I would suggest trying out each class and then decide once you have played each one. There are flavor of the month builds and such but you can expect that with any new game because people are still figuring the game out.

With the way this game is structured I don’t think there will be a trial. Since the game is based more around PvP than PvE. So someone could just make a lvl 1 character and just do SPVP all day.

It is never too late to start. If you want to get the most out of it (ie levels) you should wait till like 60+ and then get 80 through crafting imo.

Yes it is. My friend got the monthly achievement on his Necro. I believe he got it when he hit 78. But it is possible, you just have to play careful and use your dodges correctly.

This is just people trying to bring back the trinity. It will work for some things but overall it won’t work in this game. They need to adjust to a new gameplay style.

The best profession is the one that you enjoy playing the most. You need to just try out every profession and whichever one you find the most fun playing is what you should play. Don’t go by what is best because all of the classes have things about them that are good and things about them that are not as good. You just have to learn to play the class you love. But if you want “flavor of the month” go Rifle Warrior :P

The problem isn’t that melee is overpowered or range is underpowered or vice versa. The issue with most players is the fact that each class is played very differently. If you are ranged you are going to have to learn to “kite”. If you can’t “kite” or aren’t very good at it you will die very quickly to melee classes. Also you should expect your fights as a ranged class to last a lot longer due to the fact you have to “kite”. People who are good a “kiting” are a real pain for melee players because they can’t get in close to do any damage. Really annoying and frustrating. As for this game, the classes seem fairly balanced.
