So just to be clear. If I pre-purchase Gw2:HoT now, I’ll get a character slot since I purchased the game on release three years ago?
Instead of making slotted weapons soul bound, make them account bound. It would be nice to be able to share slotted weapons with the other characters on your account.
The increase in gem price should of decreased the price of character slots. It’s unfair to pay $30 for three slots when people were able to pay $15 for three.
You know how much work it is to implent 42 skins pr new eapon…

I don’t think anet is giving all classes all the weapons just for logic. Elementalists don’t use a greatsword because greatswords are heavy and would weigh them down for the finesse they require.
I thought they are giving us all the weapons for variety. But really, what skills could a Warrior get for magic weapons? Shout skills? And based on what you just said where’s the logic for Mesmers using a greatsword then?
I didn’t mean for them to just get a new skins; I was talking about each class getting a weapon (with new skills of course) that makes sense for that class based on how they play now. I don’t see a warrior using a staff without it being turned into another weapon. And they have their banners for magic-like skills.
Plus it’s not just giving a weapon a new skin, they also have to come up with skills for the weapons. 60 new skills, 5 for each class, and then 3 for each attunement for an elementalist, and then they have to do that for each weapon.
I’m sure at some point in the future we will get new weapons but it will take time because they have to release a lot of the new weapons at the same time so that some classes dont feel shafted.

Only if they’re included as part of mounted combat.
I thought it might be interesting to have some sort of unlock mini-task for each class to complete, so they can unlock a weapon that is typically used by other classes. And maybe certain classes could get a different version of the more unusual weapons for their respective class.
So for example:
In place of the Staff, Scepter, and Focus:
Warrior gets a Halberd, Flail (1h, can be dual wield), and Cetus (1h, can be dual wield)..etc
Thief gets a Double Bladed staff, Kamas (1h, can be dual wield), Claws (1h, can be dual wield)…etc
Ranger gets a melee staff…. etc
… etc etc lol
I’d love to see the monks comeback as shaolin styled monks. With a really cool fighting mechanic added.

I vote for wrist mounted mini-crossbows in place of pistols for rangers and a crossbow in place of a rifle. Otherwise add those two weapons as well as the rifle and pistols. And i’d like to see more agility based moves. Maybe being able to kick off an enemy for a quick stun while being able to shoot off shots at them.
Never mind I was looking in the Eye of the North instance lol. It was the wrong one.
The Quartz Crystal Formation doesn’t show up in my home instance after I used Gift of Quartz.
I think option 1 would be best. I agree that combat needs a boost, but I think Anet is not going to be too quick to add new skills/weapons until they have a very good handle on balance. But then again, if that is the case, we will probably never have new combat related content lol.

I have my dev kit coming in in about a week or two, so I can’t wait try it out with gw2. I might try it with vorpx or just use tridef in sbs mode alongside this SbS overlay program someone created.

It’s working with 10.6.8 for some reason. Thanks anyway guys!
My client was running fine about a week ago, but today when I updated the client it crashed. At first it crashed and gave an error message that was sent to anet, but now it doesn’t show the error message. I was on OSX 10.6.6 before, and updated to OSX 10.6.8 to see if it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. I’m assuming I don’t have to go and purchase Lion and update to 10.8.X to get this to work. Which is also with the assumption that the error isn’t on my end; especially since the game worked a week ago.
So sadly i have a horrible feeling we will be very bored till late January, maybe even the very last week of January, and this “2 huge patches” was a lie.
Then play a different game in the mean time.
Not like you gotta play off your subscription.
Sadly there are no other mmos worth playing now or anytime soon.
Why limit yourself to mmos? There are so great stories to be discovered single player
I personally can’t justify spending $40-$60 on the 12-20 hours that most sp games are these days, better things to buy.
You should check out skyrim if you haven’t already. Well worth the price.
So nothing about new skills and weapons? No ways of improving current skills further or anything? They are working on item progression… they should work on skill progression too.
Yes! Please add the OP’s suggestions as an option! I’ve been asking for something like this since the game first went into beta!
It only last 30 seconds, so you might of just saved yourself some skill points there lol. Especially since it also takes 4 minutes to recharge!
Conditions are definitely not working properly since for example, the vulnerability condition given by Opening Strike (for the player and pet) and Hunter’s Shot don’t always stack properly, regardless of how you apply them.
