Okay so, almost all content up until the expansion and raids was super casual and easy, I loved it all but GW2 needs some harder content so I was really happy with HoT and raids since I let me do something that actually takes time and effort, there is still plenty of casual things to do in GW2.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m not an elitist player who hates casuals, do I play casually sometimes myself and I definitely think there should be more casual stuff as well but you really cant blame Anet for giving content to the hardcore players for once in almost 4 years, and don’t give that crap that Fotm is hardcore cause it really isn’t.
I’m sure Anet will push out more casual content soon enough and then you’ll have the hardcore and elitist players being loud on the forums like the casuals are being atm. I think Anet is doing a great job pushing out content for the entire playerbase that everyone can do if they want to put time into it.

As we said in the AMA, our top internal priorities have been population balance and rewards. From this thread, your top five priorities are, in order:

Yes, we will take the feedback and make stability, general skill balance, and fixing/reverting DBL our top priorities. We’re not currently working on scoring and that has to be a longer-term project.
Karl is working specifically on WvW-focused skill balance. He’s looking for the wins for WvW that don’t screw the rest of the game.
We’re investigating whether to fix or revert DBL. They’re both a lot of work. These next couple days will be your last chance to give feedback before we make a decision, so speak now or forever hold your peace.
I want to reiterate that everything we work on either ships in April or starts beta-testing on Live servers in April. We’re locking down dev work for the April release soon — next up is localization, QA, integration and regression testing — but we’ll extend the deadline for WvW skill balance.
There is one thing that doesn’t need to get wrapped up into the April release: Friday night resets. That doesn’t require a Live build. We’ll do it.

I guess I’m not a majority on this but I feel like working hard for the gold to buy the item feels more rewarding than gambling for it on Mystic forge, then again I never liked any sort of gambling and never will. And there is nothing wrong with buying it either.
And as some post mentioned earlier, farming an legendary from scratch without the help of trading doesn’t make a good player either, nor does buying one for gems, so don’t base player skills in PvP after an item you grind in PvE.
As I can see many people here are upset as I am. I am really upset because I used to have an outfit which is right now at the gem store! I feel like been stolen… I have already paid for it, what is this? I used to have an Aviation Cap and a Celebration Hat (!) and all of these are gone.
Not to mention the skins I’ve bought from the store… There are not in the wardrobe.

Read the patch notes, it clearly tells you to go to the Black lion armor trader in any major city for the town clothes unlocks.
So I just hopped on my guardian for the first time in a long time to notice that I was able to use 2 of the same ring (Healing signet (Infused)). From what I know these are supposed to be unique equipped and this shouldn’t be possible.
However I have not been reading updates of late so I’m just wondering now, is this infact a bug / mistake on Anets part or is this something that has been added recently?
Both rings give stats also.
What I think is that the new fractal update with the +15 infusions and all those things allow this.
@Razor – did you manage to resolve your issue. Its kinda stupid that this game and only this game is having this kind of problem.
Been having this problem too for more than a few months and I just gave up. Just thought of trying again after I got my whole system replaced and its the same stupid problem.
Yes and no, Yes as in I know what the problem is and how to solve it and no cause I haven’t gotten around to fixing it.
Basically what’s causing it is the router I have, specifically Netgear EVG-2000 and I know also that Netgear 6300 something also has this problem but can solve it with deactivating the SPI firewall + dos protection and port scan
However my router can’t do that as I have no access to WAN setup so I have to buy a new router.
The firewall was disabled by enabling the Default DMZ server since my router does not allow me to disable dos protection (Which it does not have) or the SPI firewall manually and I was in contact with Netgear support and my ISP to ask if any of them could disable it but they said only my ISP could do so cause of special firmware with the router that came with my ISP switch and they told me I could only change it via Default DMZ setting which was classified as over support and I wasn’t allowed to get more help from them.
I have the Netgear EVG-2000 model if that helps you. And no I do unfortunately not have any test routers that I believe will work with my current internet, I do have my old one but I’m not sure if that one is compatible with my new ISP. And with that router I never had this problem and it was a Cisco router not sure which model.
And to answer the earlier question, I did try connecting to the modem rather than modem to router to my PC and that did seem to work actually but is no possible solution since I have siblings and others who use the internet daily as well.
I did disable the entire security system for my router yes, which unfortunately didn’t fix it I did disable my Avast as well which didn’t fix it either. I do have the turbo feature from factory settings on my CPU setting I believe.
I’ll get to sending the new support ticket tomorrow as it’s too late and I’m heading off really soon.
I had a support ticket yes, I do not know if it still exists since I hit the “This answered my question” after I thought it got fixed.
And It’s not really crashing, It just goes black with the music looping and cursor, I can also press f11 for example to get the menu up for graphical options but nothing happens when I do anything. And I’m not 100% sure where to find the crash reports if there are any. But I’m willing to check if there are anything there.
Ashley, did you look at the wrong person? Cause at the moment I have 67GB free on my SSD which I dont store games on and I have 1,72TB on my storage HDD, I have also been talking to the GW2 support about all possible fixes until I thought it was solved but only made me able to play for more than 10 minutes.
Edit: More specifically thought the router settings fixed it.
I doubt very strongly it’s the drivers fault, I’ve had this problem since April and it’s nothing GPU related and not drivers either as I’ve downloaded a load of different drivers ever since.
You aren’t alone on this, it seems to be a network issue though. I might be wrong on this but back in April I got a new ISP and new router and I started getting black screens like once a day which didn’t really bother me at first but not long ago (1 month ago ish) I started getting them like every 10 minutes and sat with ANET support testing everything they told me to which kept the game running for a few hours more than before but still black screening. Right now I black screen every 1-2 hour(s).
But sadly I don’t think they prioritize this issue as some other people has issues that makes the game completely unplayable like BSOD caused by the game / fps issues with high end specs / constant crashing.
We can just hope for the best and see if ANET can fix the issue as it seems all of the things they want us to try doesn’t work or atleast doesn’t fix the problem fully.
I had the same problem since saturday last week, however I talked with Tech support from Anet, netgear and my ISP, and eventually what seemed to fix my issue was either of the following:
-reinstall of avast as it was an older version apparently
-disabling a few autostartup programs i MSconfig I had running like adobe updaters and akami netsession interface which I had no idea it was still there after uninstall.
-enabling default DMZ server on my netgear router.
I can’t fully say if it worked or not as I’ve had gaming sessions over 9 hours before saturday last week before black screens but so far I’ve successfully played a good 6 hours at max without any black screen.
I know that the tradepost has this anti spam selling probably to stop bots or something but I sold —-—>1<—— item and it wouldn’t tell me it had been sold and so I closed the TP and opened it again and tried to sell 3 powerful bloods and it just wont let me.
“Error attempting to sell” over and over I tried relogging and waiting but I just keep getting the same message…
I asked in Lion’s Arch as well and I’m not the only one either.
I also noticed if you have a banner on cooldown and you add endure pain to your action bar it goes on the same cooldown as the banner is on without even using it.
Yes, I did check how much karma I had at the end, I used 10 liquid karma jugs with 60% boost and I had just recently bought orrian boxes so I had 1k something before I used them and after I had somewhere around 46k
I was running with the zerg and then they ran behind the tower and abused up on the wall, that was when I ran back there and took the screenshots you can see in my first post.
Shortly after they talked in chat about how only 3-4 people know how to do it which I screenshotted as well. I’m 100% sure they are bugging. And there was no one in the tower from our side until they all just teleported onto the wall.
And that very same mesmer joined my party later for Arah story and was being rude and then my friend told him we reported him and he decided to mention that he has been suspended 10 times before. So I’m quite sure he is a rule breaker.
In the first picture it might seem like the wall is broken from a distance but I went there to be sure that It was infact not and that is where they entered.
Okay so I just joined WvW and I followed our commander and we got to Bluelake tower on the SFR border and it was reinforced ect but then a mesmer in the zerg teleported onto the tower somehow and made a portal on the tower I didn’t follow of course since I hate people abusing these things ruining WvW for the rest.
Then they started talking about it in chat about how 3-4 people knows it so I’m certain they were abusing bugs, I also now wonder how you can report these people as they are ruining WvW by abusing these bugs since you can’t report them ingame for bug abusing. And I did get a screenshot of the names in the chat when they talked about abusing things I will not however post that picture in this thread. In the second picture you can see people in the tower on the minimap.
In the first picture you can clearly see that the tower is reinforced and there is no way they could have broken it down in less than a min with that tiny force.
I’m fairly sure it’s a bug as I decided to check all the patch notes from 26th of feb and forward; and it said nothing about it.
I also used karma boosts for the karma items I got back from the orrian boxes and it worked fine, after that there has been no nerfs in any of the patches.
Okay so my friend just tested a thing for me, he used a drop of liquid karma with the guild banner boost and it worked, but when he used food that gives 5% more karma it did not, so my theory is that the food prevented the karma banner and my booster from actually working.
I apologize if I missed some random update removing this, either way so I just did my monthly tasks and got my 10 liquid karma jugs and used my booster + saffron food and banner for a total of 60% more karma gain. However, I did still only get 4500 karma for each jug which is the normal amount you should get.
So my question is if they did some sneaky update where they removed karma boosting for the karma items or is it a bug?
It counters everything there except for the fearing, I know that it has blocked fear before. It shouldn’t stop you midway through your dagger storm since you have stability active which is supposed to ignore the effect of fear.
So I just was WvWing a bit when they called for help at a supplycamp so I ran there and decided to dagger storm into a few people, dagger storm grants stability which supposedly counters fear, well it didn’t halfway through a necro put down one of the AoEs with his staff going right through the stability/dagger storm.
Is this a bug or did they change something? Cause it clearly says that is counters fear.
I think you guys at ANET should add a Pink Bicycle helmet skin to the gemstore.
I mean it might seem silly but in all honestly how cool wouldn’t it look? I’d buy it at least. Imagine a massive brute Norn warrior running around with a pink Bicycle helmet. Enough said.
Okay so I just found out that there are new Beta drivers for Nvidia 306.02 and I have only tested it for 3 minutes but I went back to Black Citadel and the choppy gameplay and framerate drop seem to have been fixed, I will continue testing a bit.
So I’ve been playing since headstart launch and I’ve had no problems whatsoever with frame rate or such, but today it felt choppy and I decided to just keep exploring and when I got to Black Citadel in the middle area I just get a sudden fps drop down to 15. This has not been a problem before as I’ve been there plenty of times.
I’m running a GTX EVGA 670 with the 304.79 Beta drivers, Intel Core I5 3.3Ghz 8GB Ram ect ect. I’m usually running at 60 fps if not more in the cities but now I’m down at 30-40 and dropped to 15 once so far.
I’m a lvl 80 warrior who also build pure dps. To begin with, the traits I maxed out strength, Discipline and 10 points in arms and you want to get gear with only power, precision and crit damage. The trait slots will be all up to you really.
I’m also using a greatsword with the Signet of Rage elite, signet of might and for great justice and I’d recommend endure pain as you will easily go down if not any points in vitality and defence.
And the weapon is up to you what you feel most comfortable with, I personally like and think the greatsword is best as you can constantly pump out damage with 100 blades and Whirldwind attack and then you can also switch to a axe to use the burst skill instead of the greatsword burst. You can go with hammer also but I’d recommend the greatsword if you want to deal a lot and fast damage.
