I didnt get the Dragon P1 sotry for free. Guess what I did? I. BOUGHT. IT.
I love every aspect of the Living World S2, everything but the battles. It’s almost like you guys designed the battles for group-play. Wait…YOU DID. Hahaha! So lame!
Look, I loved the story, and I loved the tasks. They were fun. However, the battles make the whole experience extremely lousy. Are they unbeatable? No. Are they frustratingly annoying to the point of me slamming my genitals in a door jam? Yes. Actually, I take that back…You ABSOLUTELY need a group in order to kill the dragon on the last story mission. It’s bull that the meter reduces over time.
I liked the way you designed the race story lines. Please don’t F up again with S3, please. The battles shouldn’t require 2-3 people in order to get through without dying 6 times. It’s just annoying. Even with free repairs…it’s annoying.
And before anyone says “but it was easy for me”…I play a Warrior, and we’ve seen a 30% damage nerf since april of 2014. It sucks. Our class sucks. And the boss battles suck.
A year ago I built my PC and along with it came a 1tb HDD. I thought to myself, “Now I’ll have enough space for all of my Steam games! Haha!” Now I’m sitting with 162gb of space. I have 32 games installed altogether, but there’s one game that really stand out. Yup: GW2.
GW2 takes up as much space, if not, more than the other 31 games I have installed. GW2 takes up a whopping 193gb! Wooooow! This game has too little to it in order to take up that much freakin space! And to think you guys are going to release an expansion? I might as well buy a freakin server just to store this game on when that happens!
Please learn from other MMO developers and compress your god forsaken files! Give me a break!
I’m more disappointed than whiny over the current situation. However, I’ve made the most of it. The real problem here is that people are scrambling HARD to find a warrior meta build that measures up to everything pre-April 2014, and they’re failing.
I find it funny, though, because if you dare wander out of a meta build, then everyone criticizes you. Even though warrior meta is garbage now and means nothing.
NOTICE: I’m completely open for suggestions.
What This Build Will Do For You: give you a competitive DPS edge, physical mitigation, condition mitigation, and good mobility by Warrior standards.
Open Letter.
After playing a Warrior since beta, I’d hope that my knowledge has gotten me somewhere. I don’t often check on updates, nor am I a math wizard. However, I’d like to count myself as someone who has a natural intuition. I’ve never been much for meta (a comment which might turn all of you off instantly), but I have found great success in every area of PvE with little to no gruff from other players. I started off using the Unstoppable Berserker build introduced back in 2012, but with the damage nerfs, it’s little more than a weak solo build now. This here is a variation of that build which emphasizes on axe-play, heavy weapon swapping, and a fair amount of survivability. Let’s get down to the grit of things, and make this short and simple.
GEAR.
Everything, including accessories and weapons, should be Knights. Don’t ask questions, just trust me on this. You’ll get a ton of physical mitigation, which might sound cringe-worthy, but it goes hand in hand with the rest of the build. Think of your gear as completely secondary, rather than the meat and potatos of the build. Because it really is secondary. Unless you’re not wearing exotic Knights…then you’re doing it wrong.
RUNES.
Strength on all of your gear.
SIGILS.
Strength on Axes. Strength and Force on GS, LB, Ham.
UTILITIES.
HS, FGJ, SoS, BoDis, BS.
HS: You’ll be generating so much Adren, you’d be dumb not to use this.
FGJ: Who doesn’t use this?
SoS: Mobility and condition removal.
BoDis: Increased crit for you and your team.
BS: Because if you don’t use this, you’ll get kicked from FotM 40.
You can swap BoDis with EP, or any other banner, depending on the encounter or team makeup. I’d highly suggest not straying too far from that.
“The Build”http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAnXRj8cU5ZhH2eQHagggyYBEAnPhLY6V2FbBA-TJRBABU8GAAvMAP7PAwhAAA
ROTATION.
(keeping default controls in mind)
FGJ.
BoDis.
GS: 2, 3 (for might generation and some damage)
Swap.
Axes: 2, 4, 5.
Swap.
GS: F1, 2, 3.
Swap.
Axes: 2, 4, 5.
Swap.
GS: F1, 2, 3.
And so on…
You will be doing it faster than you think. It looks simple now, but it’s really a big pain in the…ehem…You can also use your LB and Hammer for certain encounters. You’ll rarely need your Hammer, but the LB can come in handy. So definitely keep that in your last bag slot.
CONCLUSION.
This is really not a complex build by far, but it may take some time getting used to based on your experience. Remember to dodge as much as you can, swap when you don’t have an optimal skill open, and Whirlwind everything you see.
You’ll find that you’ll be getting a lot of aggro with this build, but if used properly, you’ll take little to no damage simply by dodging and using your heal at 3 bars of adren. You’ll also never be immobilized (for the most part), and put out enough DPS to get by. Because let’s face it: Warrior DPS is on the threshhold of “just getting by”.
I hope you enjoyed, and please leave your comments!

ITT: “Ritualist! Dervish! I have never played GW1!”
You’re all clueless. Go read the Wiki.
For a second, I thought your name was BigWhiteShotgun
Got one of those…
in my pants.
OOOOOOOOO!!!!
Actually, after a few looks at it, I’d say it doesn’t fit very well with the theme. Now I’m not saying the layout is bad; it’s actually amazing. However, the artistic theme to it could be tweaked to have the more painterly red, blacks, and whites that GW2 uses.
Additionally, I believe that there could be a cutback on the amount of media used in place of a few good lines of text. I think that a majority of PC gamers are pretty literate and wouldn’t mind reading, this is especially true for MMORPG players. Media should highlight the truly epic parts of the game, rather than explain details.
Otherwise, this is an awesome and pleasing concept.
An absolutely amazing redesign. There’s a few cluttery parts about it, but over all it’s very well thought out.
YOU’RE HIRED.
It’s bad. It’s just all bad.
I shouldn’t have to travel to multiple zones or sacrifice skill points in order to get new traits. That’s ridiculous. It’s already bad enough that we don’t get a trait point per level after level 11. Now you’re going to FORCE me to complete a renown heart across Tyria just to get a trait? And if I don’t want to do that, then you’re going to make me sacrifice my skill points???
So here I am all the way in eastern Tyria, and in order to get the trait I want, I have to go allllll the way out to western Tyria.
That’s bullkitten.
Grow a YHWY given beard, slip into your union suit, and put on your Viking war helm!
It’s going to be a cold one!You seriously acronym Yahweh?
Cue Monty Python ‘Jehovah’ sketch here.
Oops! That was a typo. I meant to say YHWH. It’s the proper Hewbrew to English translation of the Tetragrammaton. We just write it as “Yahweh” to make it easier to use in modern English.
Grow a YHWY given beard, slip into your union suit, and put on your Viking war helm!
It’s going to be a cold one!
The gold grind in this game is not proportionate to the rising TP inflation. However, you can’t just make gold easier to get. If that happened, then inflation would skyrocket. Not to mention the TP would be flooded with more items than even “Prism” could handle (the NSA’s super-computer). I don’t really know how ANet could fix this mess. It’s pretty much set in stone, so the only way to disrupt the balace would be to reiterate the currency or add a disruptive form of currency.
Pandaren confirmed as the next playable race…
er…
I mean Skritt.
Would be the worst development move ever.
When you roll a Necro and realize they’re only good for PvP…and you don’t PvP.
There are at least 10 races I could name that are better playable characters than Skritt. Just to name a couple; Tengu and Kodan. Skritt are definitely a step down on community standards. It’s almost akin to asking for more RNG.
So no, just no.
If you don’t think Cantha is special, then you must be against China. If you’re against China, you must not like the Chinese. If you don’t like the Chinese, then you must not like Asians. If you don’t like Asians, then you must be racist.
/liberallogic.
I’m pretty sure ANet isn’t going to break any molds on this one, though. Usually when a developer makes changes to a game, it’s very rare they’ll go back to an old system that worked better and say “sorry, we goofed up”. Usually they’ll stick with the new system and try to fix it until the point it’s a horrible, confusing mess.
It’s not a matter of “if you don’t like it, don’t play it”. It’s a matter of “I like them throwing me in an RNG skinner box, and if you don’t like the changes they’re making because of their lack of direction, then leave MY game”.
Humans are selfish creatures and will always take the easy way out, which ultimately makes things harder on themselves. I actually find it sad that there are so many WoW converts who worship the game design here, when in fact, it’s only getting worse. I myself came from WoW back in 2011, but this game has seen the loss of many original lead designers, and thus ANet has no idea where to take this game ATM.
People need to embrace what works, but also be open to ideas that just MIGHT work. Rather than embracing every $#!tty feature that comes along and tell everyone else to “deal with it. it’s great”.
The new dailies are very restrictive. They are based on whether or not you have an 80, a character who has explored a certain area, or if you’re into PvP/WvWvW. Dailies used to (and should) reflect what your current character played is capable of doing IMMEDIATELY.
Please revert back to the old system and stop changing things that already work fine. Also, don’t increase rewards for a ridiculous, revamped, system as an excuse to implement a skinner box. I pay for gems, as do many others. Take your money and make the game better, not more time-sinky.
Please revert back to the old character progression and dailies. I don’t really need to say much more, but I’ll go into some small, bulleted, detail.
- No sense of power or freedom.
- Very slow and unrewarding.
- FINALLY getting traits at about the same level AC unlocks? No thanks.
- Level gated weapon skill unlocks? You can’t be serious.
- Dailies restrict you based on where you have explored, rather than on what your character is capable of doing immediately.
I could gripe about each point in depth, but I know you guys can elaborate in your own minds, without my help. To a new player, this may not seem like much of a problem, but to someone who has leveled a character substantially and decides to reroll. Or, in my case; has played since beta. This problematic. I’m not seeing through rose colored glasses. I’m simply stating the obvious.
Onto another point. I know that this new character progression yields its own reward. Now, we don’t have to pay for trait tomes, and the level up rewards are somewhat “better”. However, anyone in their sane mind would rather pay a gold for the level 60 trait set, rather than wait until level 80 just to use their last trait point.
It’s just not worth feeling like your character is a POS waiting for his daddy to give him permission to use whatnot, rather than earning it on his own in small increments.
Just no. The Bell Choir is still hard. I’ve gone as far as doing everything you said before you even suggested it, and it was still ridiculously hard. There’s just no reason for it.
inb4 “it’s easy”
inb4 “you don’t have to do it”
inb4 “go back to WoW”
I’ll make this brief,
The only thing I’ve found enjoyable about this event is the snowball fights, and I don’t even do PvP! I found the jumping puzzle to be less puzzling and I found the bell choir to be more difficult than playing “Through the Fire and Flames” on Guitar Hero. And surviving the toys? Have fun with that; it’s a joke of a dungeon. Might as well have put Scarlet back in Lions Arch.
My point here is that seasonal events should be a moment for players to refresh, loosen up, and take a nice break from all the heavy grinding they do on a daily basis. Not for them to sit hour upon hour trying to perfect something in a trial-and-error way. That’s ridiculous.
ANet, seriously take a moment and FOR ONCE make your leisure content…leisurely. Otherwise your Wintersday will continue to be confined to a winters day for people like me; one day. Thats it. A day.
Good day.
The Guardian is in a really good place right now.
Can you not
Irony is a peculiar thing, huh?
Haters gonna hate. I’ve done 100% of the content with that build and it works like a charm. But you guys can go ahead and whine about how broke the class is while flailing around in full berzerk. The sad thing is none of you have even tried anything else, so have fun being bad you cheeky scrubs. 2mlg4u.
You should also see by precision warrior build that requires full knights gear. Never die and do top damage.
- Pigeon-holed into mostly support roles. I LOVE melee support paladin style roles and guardian certainly doesn’t fail at support. Unfortunately, GW2’s design favours support the least, to put it lightly. The guardian’s strongest role is the least needed and often mocked by others.
Guardians are supposed to be a support profession. Anyone who uses them for zerk are mentally kittened.
- Zeal is still really bad. It attempts to promote cross-trait synergy but it tries way too hard to the point that it can’t stand on its own.
If you put a majority of your points (or any, for that matter) in Zeal, then please reroll. You suck.
- Zeal seems to focus way too much on spirit weapons. Spirit weapons are also still rubbish so there’s a bunch of wasted traits AND skills.
Please reroll as Warrior. No one loves you.
- ANYTHING to do with condition damage is completely wasted on guardians. Until we get reliable sources of damaging conditions outside of burning.
Conditions are crap, I agree. Go reroll a warrior if you want melee DPS.
- Ironically, there’s a little too much emphasis on damaging conditions in regard to some zeal and radiance traits. Wasted.
Reroll warrior to make things better, you whiny $#^.
- I don’t see how a primarily front-line melee class still has no cripples and barely any other way of slowing foes. Warriors, heck, ANY other class can easily keep pretty much anyone in the intended range of their weapon for a decent amount of time. Conversely, they will all, always run circles around a guardian, regardless of how many teleports people claim we have.
Guardians have an insane amount of survivability if you build one right. If you’re getting rekd in PvP because you wanted to suck on the DPS nipple. Then reroll a warrior.
- Everything that was ever wrong with 1h sword is still there. Sword 2 may as well heal foes. I can talk for pages on my issues with sword. The only other sword skills in the game that don’t have a cripple or leap finisher belong to thief but at least they get immobilise, two teleports and condition removal instead.
Swords are for plebs.
- Almost zero combo finishers outside of GS and hammer.
L2Play.
- Only one ranged option, scepter. Which has no projectile finishers, unreliable pseudo-aoe that looks like a symbol but isn’t and an all too brief immobilise.
L2Staff.
- No stuns. At all.
L2Guardian.
- No dazes outside of Tome of Courage.
L2Guardian.
- Zeal again.
Reroll Warrior.
- Shield skills need love, still. Arguably the most iconic guardian weapon but barely used by any.
L2Tank/Heal build.
- Zero passive increased move speed traits/skills.
L2Retreat.
- Only three sources of swiftness across the entire profession.
L2Retreat.
- Almost no variety in the types of combo fields.
L2Guardian.
- Compared to the other professions, I find guardians traits to be far too stand alone. By that, I mean that outside of radiance 1, 3 , VI, Zeal I, the various the symbol traits and EM + AH, it’s hard to make a build where a lot of the traits play off of each other in meaningful ways. Unlike what I’ve seen on other professions.
L2Guardian.
Meta sux. Go look for a better build. Meta is for plebs and Mezmer/Warrior wannabes. They can all die in a fire.
The point isn’t to tank, I’m not trying to “pull aggro”. However, it isn’t very uncommon that I don’t. Within a 10 second range I’m healing myself for around 9k impassive, and about 6k to my team passive. I know I can push for higher numbers, but I need better gear for that. So don’t get off by saying the heals are “weak”.
Everyone’s idea of “meta” is “how much DPS can I obtain without becoming too much of a glass cannon?” The problem with meta builds is everyone who uses them uses them incorrectly, and therefore die over and over again. You can call this build a sort of equalizer. Plus, meta can suck it and so can hammer builds. I’ve ran a hammer build, the hammer is garbage. At least for now.
I do everything this build instructs. Hell, I even lie to people and tell them that I’m running a DPS build, but still go all the way through dungeons. On occasion I have people ask where the heals are coming from, then I’m all like, “oh yeah, I forgot to say I do reverse DPS on your health bars.”
At least try the build before popping a kitten over what’s meta and not.
No one goes down in my groups. This build is beast.
I have not seen this specific build posted yet, or at least in a long time.
I still use this very in-depth, intense build and it still seems very viable. What do you guys think? Use the menu in the beginning of the video if you don’t want to be burdened by 50 minutes of pure awesome.
I still don’t understand the prestige behind crafting a Legendary. They all look like garbage and are a complete waste of time. There are vendor weapons that look ten times better.
Dear ArenaNet,
Thank you for making such a wonderful and quite polished game, in spite of it only being two years old. Keep up the good work, and never stop ignoring self-absorbed $%@#$#&% like Malfice.
Love,
Forumite #8526475902
For the forums being out as long as they have, I would expect them to have moved software a long time ago. The infrastructure hasn’t changed one bit, though. As it stands, these forums are just serving ANet as a tool for communication with users, but it’s not really a personal medium for user-to-user interactions.
I think personalization tools are needed for this to be an ideal forum experience. But hey, at least it’s better than gw2guru. The mod squad over there is god awful.
I remember going to GameStop to pick up my copy on the 24th, I think it was. Good times. I made a shirt that said “I pre-ordered GW2 for the early access, and all GameStop gave me was this POS shirt. Thanks, Obama”. And I never did get into that early access.
When I come to these forums and I scroll through a thread, it seems mighty impersonal. It’s hard to get into a discussion when you can’t put a face on the person you’re talking to, or hardcore trolling. It’s amazing how a simple picture can get people to be so close to each other.
I would suggest that ANet allow us to pick a photo of one of our characters to be the avatar of our forum profile. And if at all possible, create account profiles for other forumites to look at. That would be grand.
Also, here’s to you guys fixing this sites limitations.
/knocks back a cold one.
Yikes, you guys act like we’re dealing with VALVe, Activision, or EA up in this #%$&*. From my experience, ArenaNet is the best at communicating content, updates, and/or changes aside from Blizzard.
Go submit a ticket to VALVe on a game issue and have fun waiting two weeks for them to get back to you. Seriously…go do it. Like…now.
When I heard that Mists of Pandaria was going to be the next World of Warcraft expansion, I lit up in a fit of rage. It was the worst thing I could have ever imagined happening to a game that I had been playing for a solid eight years. In response, I searched for a new MMO to get addicted to; a new strain to the drug that people call Fantasy MMORPG.
I went through a lot of games: Rift, Perfect World, D&D online, and Aion are just a few to name. Then I saw the GW2 manifesto trailer, and that’s when things changed. I went out and got GW1 and all expansions, played it religiously, just so I could get some HoM points. The beta came out, and I played that too.
I can still remember making my human guardian and walking through DR for the first time. That’s when I knew…when I absolutely knew…that GW2 was going to be a niche game to take many WoW fans away silently. It has.
In WoW I had a character that was very near and dear to me, his name was Modaeus Aurison. I did a lot of RP with him and built a lot of relationships. I’m so glad to have him here on this game. I love to RP with him still, but as a Paragon of Dwayna, rather than the Holy Light.
This game saved me from game misery, and is only getting better as time moves on. God bless the developers of this game.
Well, I’d love to have the world badge light up after exploring the world no matter who 100%‘s what. Now if it’s required to explore the world 100% with an individual character in order to get a legendary, then make it so, but don’t hinder the other rewards in the game because of it. On top of it all, getting a legendary is so difficult; most people don’t have one, or never will have one.
If this game was Age of Conan, I’d suggest it. Then again, this game has a lot of loading screens.
Dear ArenaNet,
While you’re at it making gold, badges, kharma, and everything else account bound….Why don’t you make world exploration, PvP and WvW progression, and dyes account bound too!?
Sincerely,
Your loyal fans who dump tons of moolah on gems.
Thank you for being persistent in finding answers, Dahkeus. I’ve tried the link you’ve produced, but it lead me straight back to the trial forums. Additionally, the only recent topics I’ve seen date back to the 10th. Perhaps my account can’t see the most recent topics as well.
You guys sound very organized, active, and fun. I’ve been searching for a guild since the launch of this game, but with no luck. Most guilds fall apart or become completely inactive. A recent one I was in kicked me for telling the leader to be nicer when requesting people to rep the guild (me, in the case). I had poured tons of guild commendations into that guild and got kicked for asking the leader to be nice. >:|
I’ve read over your posts, your forum guidelines, I’ve made a forum profile under the name “Rethmar”, and I’m very interested in creating a trial application. At this point I’m not allowed to create topics. Yes, I’ve verified my email.
Here’s a summary of my characters in-game in case you want to shoot me a message, or you can contact me via your site or this forum profile.
Name: Rethmar Stokestrike
Profession: Warrior
Level: 80
Style: PvE
Name: Modaeus Aurison
Profession: Guardian
Level: 34
Style: RP
I’m looking forward to being part of the community….if accepted.
I’ve been playing this game since day one (not that it’s relevant to the topic), and one thing really bugs me: making money and acquiring gear is limited to a few options. What are those option?
- Run CoF P1 over and over again for a single piece of gold.
- Manipulate the broken economy in this game (the TP).
- Grind dungeons for many hours in order to get a single piece of cosmetic gear.
What do all of these things have in common? They’re all mostly boring after the first few times. At least they are for me, I don’t know about you guys.
;Addressing the problem:
NOTHING IN THE OPEN WORLD REWARDS YOUR EFFORTS.
Remember doing all those events? Yeah, they give nice exp, but the Kharma and coin rewards are garbage. They simply suck. I love doing events, they’re fun, and there’s so many of them out there to do, but they just don’t feel rewarding enough to do regularly. So why bother doing them when they don’t give you a decent reward for your efforts? After I hit 80, I stopped doing them because I needed gold in order to progress!
You might say “then craft everything” or “grind the open world for your items”, but if you did say that then I’d call you a liar. Because not a single person here has never thought “forget this! I’ll just get the gold and buy it on the TP”, after all, that’s what it’s there for. For some people without the time, their only chance at higher end items is gems, or grinding CoF. That’s not fun.
So what was all this nonsense about “no grind philosophy” again? Oh that’s right, ANet will just put the blame on the players by telling us we made the TP the way it is, and that everything is working as intended. Yup, it sure as heck is!
Solving the problem:
^- Put cosmetic dungeon skins and legendary items in the gem store.
- Increase open world rewards.
- Decrease RNG.
^^- Disallow players the capability to use all crafting skills and gather all components and implement a player to player trading function.
- Balance dungeon rewards.
- Make Kharma a more relevant currency (allow us to buy dungeon rewards with it!).
- Create a set conversion value between gold and gems.
^This will massively curb tycoons on the TP from ramming the rest of the player base in the bum. Come on ANet, it’s getting ridiculous, help us out here. THIS IS YOUR GAME TO CONTROL. Not ours.
^^This will improve the overall economy and value of crafting components. It will also get players to interact with each other outside of the TP.
You are entitled to your opinion too.
Your opinion is wrong.
Yes, I am entitled to my opinion, and you’re entitled to your opinion also. However, your entitlement doesn’t make you any less mentally disillusioned.
If your opinion bordered fact in any shape or form, then ANet wouldn’t have even considered pulling Asura out of thin air, but instead would have used a pre-created race instead. That race being…Skritt. However, they didn’t because using the Skritt as a playable race would have felt awkward. Not to mention their lore isn’t every well in tune with what ANet has planned. A personal story involving Skritt would have more to do with collecting “shinies” (much like WoW) rather than actually being interested in saving Tyria.
Therefore my opinion is far superior to yours because it follows the general logic of what ANet is actually doing rather than following a make-believe thought of what I think ANet should be doing, or what I expect them to do in the future.
The fact that you think that Skritt holds 90% more place in the story-line that ANet has developed for every race BUT the Skritt is evidence alone that you’re 100% batcrap insane or just stupid.
Because skritt are what the asura should have been.
Nobody likes the asura, hell even asura don’t like other asura.
The mad king even makes jokes about the asura having no friends, I honestly don’t think he’s mad.
The skritt rallying to kill dragons makes more sense than any other race.
The Pact should be 90% skritt and the other 10% being a miscellaneous mix of other races, not including asura because skritt hate those malformed rodents.
Well, I’ll indulge your trolling attempts only to make you sound like a complete fool. I’m bored and would rather reply to your rhetoric than watch Gangman Style parodies on YouTube. Here it goes…
First off, nothing you’ve said holds any water, let alone a majority opinion position. No one is going to agree with you at all in your entire point. Perhaps in some points, but not collectively. Collectively you sound like a kid who’s more interested in expressing how advanced his mental condition is rather than intellectualizing with or upon the topic at hand.
Secondly, ascetically Skritt are no where near as pleasing to the eyes as the Asura are. I hate the way Asura look, and even I can come to that logic. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. However, comparing Skritt to Asura is like comparing Nikki Manaj’s “Bass” “song” to Mozart’s Requiem.
Third and lastly, just because you have an opinion doesn’t make you right. People often say that opinions can’t be wrong, but most often opinions are wrong. In this case, no one here would possibly agree with you on a large scale, and therefore you should give up.
TL;DR: your opinion sucks. Go away.
Yes, titles should be cosmetic only. There’s absolutely no need to have a stat bonus for using a title. There’s plenty of appropriate ways of giving players boosts in both PvE and PvP other than through achievement based gains.
The reward of getting a title is to know that others will ogle over it because they know that you did something difficult to obtain it. The problem is that no one can ogle over it if it’s not very visible when it should be.
Not everything has to have a stat benefit. If your logic was used in its’ entirety, then players would get stat bonuses for completing their personal story, naming their characters, 100% world exploration, and so on.
Much like every video game out there; completion isn’t about material gratification. It’s about personal gratification that you’d like other people to see. Otherwise…what’s the point of gaming at all.
I rest my case.
There are plenty of better races out there to suggest. Skritt are not one of them. A few good ones to name:
-Tengu
-Kodan
-Hylek (the frog ones, not the dolphin ones)
Why anyone would want to play a race of rats when we already have a playable race of rats (Asura) is beyond me.
Additionally, they need to put the name of each undiscovered zone over each zone when a player is fully zoomed out while in the map UI. There’s no reason at all why (at the very least) the name of every zone should be a mystery. It makes navigating extremely difficult. ESPECIALLY when you want to go to a specific zone you’ve never been to before.
I’ve accumulated quite a few titles in this game, titles I’ve worked hard for. However, I don’t use a single one of them. The only reason I have them is to boost my accumulative amount of achievements. That’s pretty much it.
I’d love to use some of my titles, but it’s not like anyone is going to see them, so why bother using them at all? The problem here is that a player’s title doesn’t show above their name at all. The only way to tell if another player has a title is only when you click on their name. Even then, their title is a small, gray, and overall unnoticeable group of letters below their name.
Why have players work very hard for something, only to make what they worked hard for mean absolutely nothing? I’ve noticed you guys (ANet) have done this in many ways throughout the game. Additionally I’ve noticed you guys have developed some parts of the game to (seemingly) troll the living daylights out of your customers. That’s another issue , though, best saved for another thread. And trust me, I have plenty of SS’s and scenario stories validating this claim.
In most other MMOs, titles are meant to “ooo and ahh” other players. They’re meant to be astonishingly visible. Above all; everyone who passes a player with a title should be able to notice it immediately.
