RET is a GvG focused guild and because they field 7-10 or whatever a night, their members including the 2 and 3 in those screenshots are never allowed to run with FEAR or with a group of server mates even when they’re not raiding, or if they happened to be split from their RET group? If a single RET tag is found in any zerg regardless of reason that suddenly invalidates what they strive for and do for their official raids? If a single one of their members happen to be running back to their 5-7 or w/e man group but ends up in a ball of other SoR players on his or her way there that totally invalidates what RET is doing as a guild?
GG. Nitpicking if I ever saw any. Lord help us all if suddenly one FEAR tag shows up in the middle of a Choo raid. LOOK, LOOK, CHOO BLOBBING WITH FEAR. SEE, I SEE ONE FEAR TAG THAR.
Yea, god forbid they get caught running they’re normal guild raid with enough militia in tow to get them a 30 man zerg with FEAR hand holding them and someone posts an SS that points at inconsistencies in their BS statements for the past two nights in a row. The funniest part is outside of the one wipe they got with said zerg when FEAR was getting focused they spent most of the night running away after their zerg was getting worked over by 15 people. GG (Insert obligatory “oh noez u haz KnT here that is why we lost” as a follow up.)
Shouldn’t expect anything different from SoR after seasons that we hadn’t already seen during seasons. Dat WvW pride when losing Q.Q…. Excuses must be made!

No. We were in our own guild channel with no pugs. There was an uplevel following us that i asked to leave us alone and an untagged necro doing a great job of following despite no voice comms. If you continue hallucinating 30+ people in place of 7-9 i suggest you consult a doctor.
I had a nice chat with one of the Apex guys that night and I really dont understand why this is all such a big deal?
So the SS is a right out lie then as it was obviously photoshopped to make RET look bad? I see… makes perfect sense to me and I need a doctorz. :/
At any rate baring the poor troll attempts and your superior mathematical deductions I don’t care really as I don’t group often for this exact reason (it is a joke). I don’t feel his response was backhanded towards RET more directed at the fact FEAR gets involved in the fights when APeX engaged the zerg (forces of SoR) your group was a part of. That is why I raised defense so maybe it is a difference in your interpretation of the statement and mine as to me it seems like you are taking it as implication not at face value what it reads. Feels more like a call out on FEAR, hence my “to be fair” statement towards your guy that made the comment, in a post that I made which was fairly non-aggressive towards RET as well. Didn’t know soon as I made the response I would be accused of counting grievances by your members or that I would be taken as a part of APeX and GvG charrenges would be issued. :/
The “forces of SoR” including RET (I feel we are splitting hairs at this point so let’s call it what it was a 30+ man X zerg if you even want so we can leave your tag out of it.) and FEAR’s group were the only two forces on the map from SoR that stayed intrinsically close to each other throughout the night so there was never really a point that I saw where APeX was directly involved with either group without the other jumping in.
While what happened on the night may not be a typical situation for your guild to be a part of that is what happened. I don’t feel you are being attacking of me just presenting what the premise is of your guild typically which differs on what everyone was involved in at the time. APeX was running around 15-20, FEAR was running around 20 or so, you guys were lumped in with a 30+ zerg from SoR. Very simple numbers fairly simple context fun fights were had either way.
I wouldn’t take the minor statements that were made more than face value and let it ruin the fun that was haz’d.

You are completely taking things out of context because you, as you stated, only run with [APEX] on occasion. Please allow me to clear some stuff up:
First, [RET] can NOT control who follows us or tags along with us. We will typically ask them to not follow us when we see others outside of guild, but if they continue to then I’m sorry, but that’s out of our control. We want even fights as much as the next guy.
Second, [RET] plays small man. We go with who or what we have on. Many times we are NOT optimized to play the OMGWTFBBQUberL337 setup meta ROFLSTOMP game. Think of us as more of a pickup squad who try and synergize best with others that are on. Under most circumstances we have 10 or less. I believe we’ve had close to 20 ONCE, and sometimes 13-15, but typically it’s 10 or less and usually in the 8 range. If we are running from your [APEX] group it’s because our 8-10 can’t compete with your setups of 15-20. APEX runs a tight group, and we know this so it behooves us to either not engage or try and get you when you’re least expecting it. If we don’t have the numbers and others do to where we can’t get a fair fight, then we’ll join up on occasion with some larger squads to even out the numbers.
Also, [RET] will play off of the zergs as support sometimes when asked. And sometimes certain other guilds, like [FEAR] just happen to be in the area and hit groups when we do. These are SMALL world maps after all compared to some other games out there.
Finally, [RET] likes to GvG because we feel it’s a better indicator of our group and players as a whole. Yes, you can do some impressive things in WvW with certain setups, but like I said before, we are more of a pickup squad usually and we’re working on trying to have set times to gather and have more optimal setups. What I’m basically saying is that if anyone wants a serious look at how we play on even/optimal terms then we should set up a GvG otherwise you’ll always have people jumping in as opportunists from each side.

I’ve only ran with APeX that one night so far so I don’t really know what typically goes on just what I saw so I posted what I saw. I haz no issues with you guys doing what you want and pretty sure I posted was fun fights for the most part.
I just didn’t understand the accusations flying at APeX of being “troll” nor the number deductions. The context I set originally was we engaged FEAR (whom fielded slightly similar numbers if not a tad more) had them just about wrapped up in camp then “X” zerg shows with most of the tags in it that stood out being “RET” and even clarified it with stating it was a hybrid zerg mix of other tags with you (my guess is militia) that made a zerg of 30+. That being said if you are running 5-10 and militia in tow does it stand you had about 30+ and the context I said was correct? I believe so and no where did I lace it with accusations of your guild being troll or “bad” at GvG yata yata. It was the account of what happened to demonstrate the disparity APeX was fighting because it wasn’t a set group that was smaller than what was fielded by APeX even with us 3 yumy hazing funz with themz.
You add both groups together then at that point you talking about odds even more so out of their favor.
I gave an unbiased context on what was witnessed since I was the last one to die in the wipe based on my spec. I am not affiliated with APeX outside of being fwendz with some of their players from sPvP landz.

If you are talking about last night when I’m guessing that SS was taken (not sure) I don’t know because I played sPvP all night so no WvWz. I haz to spend those glory boosterz up soon. If you are talking about the night before last where I was running with APeX for funz hueryix I believe was his name? Probably misspelling it. He was the one driving at least. He wasn’t pinned though, and it was just APeX and three yumy running together. Some guy from KnT was pinned running the main zerg on the map.

Schnigle <3I don’t understand, you can literally count the number of RET tags in that picture. To my best count, I can only find 3 RET tags.
To catch you up on posts previous. There was a specific fight night before last where RET whom by their accounts only was running 5-10 just them (more than 3) and FEAR who wasn’t with them were working the JQBL similar to the SS posted. Any time you would engage one of the groups (FEAR/RET) the other would show up to help the latter out (also similar/visible in the SS posted).
So if we the deduce their quantum theory of mathematics it basically goes like this:
- If you run pinned with a zerg of about 30+ and team up with another group of similar size (FEAR) to stomp out a guild that is already fielding weaker numbers than any of the two groups alone then those superior numbers can only be counted as running 5-10 because they aren’t tagged as ex: RET. All the other people present that your pin pulls is an illusion of mathematics that isn’t there and you can call someone troll as much as you want/highlight they should “bring it to GvG”.
In short, numbers are being inflated/deflated by “X” parties involved based on tag. The SS just shows that no one is clearly pinned and pulling militia with their regular group to zerg 30+ nor is FEAR coordinating with them on map at all. :X
I normally just roam with people from yumy (5 man or less), but three of us got to run group with fwendz in APeX night before last (whom brought the situation up) so just giving an outside perspective as to what was viewed.

Why are we all still arguing over numbers in T1. Here’s what I do when trying to count an enemy group, take the number you think you saw, lets say 40, then subtract a dozen, that’s probably closer to the real number of people in said group.
Hence why I said around 30+ and I didn’t jump to the conclusion of 40 initially. I’m fairly survivable and I know what I sawz though and it wasn’t 5-10 by any stretch of the imaginationz…

To be fair while it may be a slight troll/call out this was kind of what was happening last night. A lot of yumy is associated with APeX on fwendly terms because they are nice individuals and good at what they do. They haz people from the sPvP community we’ve known for a long time so that helps too.
That being the case me and two other guildies ran with APeX last night on TS and this was one of the typical scenarios we encountered (probably the only time I was with them that we actually wiped as most of the night played out very well in our favor). There was a specific fight on Southwest camp in JQBL where FEAR stacked up waiting for us (the numbers were about even FEAR maybe had a few more) where we ran in and pretty much demolished them and pushed the remainder into the camp NPCs. Right as I’m by the commander stacking for an empower so we can finish the job a massive zerg train out of spawn runs us over and it was well over 30 people while not all of them were RET there were a lot of RET tags mixed in (more than the others).
From that point on most of the night where we ran into FEAR or RET hybrid zerg the other group was right along with it (generally arriving just in the nick of time to save the other group ironically). That was the only time I was with them where we wiped though and the majority of fights were fun even where we were farming JQ out of their towers further North.
I think he is just making the statement of APeX ran about 15 or less last night with 3 extras from our guild and that number never went over 20. Both of your groups were 20+ for the most part (20 was what you had at the very least per group) so 1v1 it was good till the numbers swung widely into your favor when the 2nd group showed up. That kind of a disparity can be frustrating to fight through, but composure was kept and for the most part I enjoyed the fights.
Just my take. I normally don’t zerg or run with a group I just roam, but did appreciate APeX letting us tag along. Wuz funz and lots o’ bagz to be haz’d! <3

you want even son step into the GvG scene.
I was being generous with the numbers to be unbiased towards you technically speaking. If you want the legitimate amount you filtered on your group from your own spawn into the southwest camp as an estimate it was probably closer to 40. Our commander was respawned by the time I was downed and the train you had following you finally hit its tail end. I was also 20k+ HP with full Lifeforce and VP traited. What you hit us with was not anywhere close 5-10 people and even stating 30+ is being generous. You may have had 5-10 people from your guild, but there was a lot of others with you thus the hybrid zerg statement (again was trying to be unbiased).
Pretty sure you can ask KnT outside of our spawn tower when you had catas up if it was 5-10. when they finally backed our group up on the overlook. Pretty sure they’d disagree by a large margin the numbers you are stating. If KnT hadn’t been there pretty safe to say you would have been 3-4 to our every 1 person we had between to 2 groups standing side by side. :/
I was also being generous with our numbers as even with us three playing with APeX I don’t believe we had over 15 on the TS channel at any given point.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter to me because I roam just merely pointing out the facts. The GvG crack at me seems a bit out of place since outside of last night I run 5 man deep at the most if not solo, but if you would like I can arrange a 5v5 scrim with some buddies in sPvP if you wan.

SBI continues to complain then servers do end up 2v1ing them for the lols.
While this is a troll technically it is probably an accurate statement. I was on SBI for a short while and still have a ton of friends from SBI that are still there. (Even guested there yesterday to show them my new adorablez Mesmer.) Hence why I still pop in from time to time to check ye ole SBI match thread.
When they got the new guilds people seemed to be saying a lot more when they were wrecking the other lower tier servers and moving back up. Then around week 6 I believe of seasons when they got a taste of their first 2v1 the talking turned from happy “we own you” statements to “it is 2v1, it is unfair and I’m mad about it”. My friends that are at SBI were actually fairly disappointed in the WvWerz for the server as a whole based around the majorities forum statements during that week and they should rightfully be upset because it definitely does reflect negatively on SBI as a server.
Tip: 2v1 happens all the time in WvW especially in Tier 1 when server politics have a huge roll (or have had I should say because SoR isn’t stirring up the pot as much recently) to play in getting them setup just to see who is going to hold that top spot. The sooner you realize this is going to happen (whether you like it or not) and develop a solid way to cope is the sooner your server moves into tier 2 (or who knows maybe even tier 1 some day). Complaining about it on the forum when you are down gets you no where (thus SoR’s placing this past season since they complained more than anyone else). If SBI wants to get back to where they were (and where I’d like them to be cuz I miss my fwendz) they need to drop the talky talk and do more walky walk.
Increases in coverage alone don’t get you to the top how your guilds play (activity counts) and how well you cope with adversity does (in addition to the coverage :P). I hope you guys come to the realization soon because I’d like to play vs SBI and vs people whom from your server are some of the nicest people I have gotten to play with.
To Maglowestrankofgoldseason1 and Yak’s Bend: do be aware not everyone on SBI gets up in arms about 2v1 and most of them are fairly disappointed in the negativity displayed here over it.

So… our night coverage equalled a T2 server’s coverage the past couple days… No queue on EBG (had outmanned buff between 5-7am PST on EBG…), 1 float team for 4 maps.
Dat PvE content is too OP. Really fun though.
It isn’t just PvEz it is PvPz too. I’d have to admit I didn’t set foot on WvW last night with all the new rewards in PvP. I haven’t had any reward in PvP since last year that was worth anything. Now with all the glory I’ve saved up I was able to level my Mesmer from 1-80 in less than 5 minutes, and spent the next hour or so working the TP to fully gear it.
I also got a wittle flower dress for my Necro in PvP cuz TA is r80 gear and I only r50+…
Fun stuff to finally make use of all the glory, and finally getting silver/gold payouts just by playing PvPz! IT IS A WINTERSDAY MIRACLE!

The biggest thing I’ve been seeing right nao in the PvP community is everyone who haz enough glory is rerolling Asura and buying the TA (nightmare) armor set cuz cute. :P

I’m pretty hard to miss cuz I’m glowy/sparkly!

heh. As been noted in my “congratulations BG” post back in week5, I admitted to talking smack all in good fun. However, considering some of you guys take this video game far too seriously and still consider it a JOB, I can understand why it would still effect your feelings some.
Every post you have made even the congratulations seemed more like it had underlying shots towards the BG server/community. I read most of them as “QQ my server lost now here is my bitter response of congrats with sarcastic undertones/excuses because I’m having to eat all of my words from talking smack at the start of the season.” I think I read it right, but if not sorry I haz trouble seeing sometimes…
Contrary to popular belief we like our “JOBS” on BG very much.

By buying guilds, would you mean Jade Quarry paying ATM to stay on JQ?
Or buying MERC who were already on another tier 1 server?
Or buying 3 EU guilds for leagues?
Jade Quarry has no moral footing to stand on. They had the easiest draw, they spent 20,000 gold buying guilds before the season, and they still failed.
Jade Quarry has the coverage to match Blackgate. In the easy matchups, their maps were queued throughout the day, but they chose not to show up when it mattered.
Perhaps next season, Jade Quarry’s gold would be better spent on buying some server pride….
JQ did not have to do anything to keep ATM because ATM was never leaving in the first place.
JQ did not buy MERC, we had approached them at one point in an attempt to get more than 30 people on between 12pm cst and 5 am cst and nothing came of it. Weeks later, things were rekindled and while some gold was given to help get them over, MERC paid for themselves to transfer.

Caed already knows we’d be happy to work something out and this is something we’ve discussed with him in the past. In-short, he isn’t huge into WvW roaming and is definitely more a structured pvp player (he does it quite well!), but again, doesn’t mean anything is off the table. Like Veretta mentioned, have to consider competition as well, but the issue there too is it’s not like we play the same servers week over week, let alone JQ anymore. Nonetheless we get the opportunity to pvp with Caed (duels mainly in his private server) and we stream this occassionally and I would bet that with the development/implementation of actual deathmatch/arena’s in pvp, you will see a ton more RIOT participating/streaming this content (we quite dislike conquest). Cheers.

So…about this awesome roaming guild I keep hearing about from BG – Riot. I haven’t seen them much. At most, I saw one guy running with the pugs. Do they still roam? If yes, around what time and with how many? This is Mag second time facing BG, probably the last for this season so maybe they will come out and play.

We’re there, holiday + some mobo issues has personally kept my play down a bit though. I was in the EB puzzle last night though wearing my [HUGS] and [DUEL] tag accordingly. We often (varies person to person) shed the [RIOT] tag to avoid being overly-focused

Mag has a really strong NA with a moderately good EU with no SEA\OCX.
SoS has a really strong SEA\OCX with a non existent EU with okay NA.
Such a shame that FA tanked from T2 on purpose since both SoS/MAG don’t really belong in T2 but I am enjoying myself when we do have equal numbers with the T1 servers since the fights are pretty good.
I somewhat disagree with this. The jury is still somewhat out for me on the subject of Maguuma, but they actually fought to get here compared to FA/SBI that could have easily been here so I’d rather fighters be in T2 than the quiters. To that ends Maguuma belongs in T2.
From an SoS perspective I really like how that server has been coming along lately. It wasn’t as dominate/competitive as it has been in the past, but with guilds like Agg, EP, and CNB it has really made the NA stronger. It isn’t stronger really by a PPT perspective, but the strength is highly present in open field combat and I’d be willing to say GvG wise it is probably top class (this is all assuming guilds like Agg stay). If I was going to join a T2 server ATM it would probably be SoS because I like how it has shaped up (I don’t plan on leaving my home though on BG unless something drastic happens). I think out of the servers current in Silver, and out of current T2 with the exception of TC (TC has shown they are the most dominate in T2 and deserving of a shot at T1), SoS belongs there more than any of them and could potentially slip into T1 one day if population goes in their favor.
The little guys of T2 need love too, and shouldn’t be discounted for their hard work/efforts.

It is probably my fault. I’ve never really agreed with “PvP” being used so loosely in WvW when I don’t consider it a legitimate form of PvP (if some of you do I’m sorry to offend). I also feel using it detracts from the sPvP community because the game is becoming synonymous with WvW being the main form of PvP and that just isn’t true. That consensus being made is part of the problem and leads to the sPvP community becoming ignored/alienated largely as a whole (it haz been for some time nao).
The WvW community hasn’t really been faced yet with any “real” downers until now. It for the most part is just server ups/downs. It for the most part has largely been catered to by comparison with sPvP. When you have your entire reward system taken away, and the only teams being one or so super pug conglomerates of PvP regulars THEN I’d probably start being a bit concerned over the state/welfare of your gamemode. :/

But I’m with Smokee though, I really can’t wait for seasons to be over. I feel the season stuff did more harm to the pvp community then actually helping it. Lot of players that normally pvp 24/7 have just not been keen to go in, which really says enough.
I don’t see WvW being the same as PvP (because I’ve mostly only sPvP’ed from launch to middle of this year). Albeit it is based around PvP gameplay/aspects, but when you add the objectives and other modifiers it isn’t really the same. I also don’t believe the WvW community is the same as the PvP community, and I’m pretty sure all whom have been playing since paid queues that are in the actual community for sPvP would agree.
I can’t really speak on behalf of the sPvP community, but I know our guild (mostly r50+ if not r60+ sPvP players) on BG whilst we aren’t happy with the queues it isn’t something we are really going to complain about because it isn’t really going to solve anything. We just solo que or team que in sPvP (might be a solid recommendation
I guess you can at least look at the bright side that the new Fractals launch today, and that will give the PvEerz something to hold their interest for a bit so we can get in quicker? :P
