You’re moving into WvW without reaching above level 22 and you think your gear and level are the big barriers to being competitive? Level to 80 in WvW, in that time you will learn the basics of the arena, become familair with your server guilds, commanders and coverage times and accumulate enough badges to be well on your way to having a full set.
Already it’s easier to obtain some skins and stats via WvW than it is in normal PvE, I don’t want more incentives to abandon PvE for PvP arenas. WvW uses PvE gear, you shouldn’t be earning PvE gear in PvP.
Expecting them to treat WvW the same as sPvP shows how little you understand the purpose of WvW. I can’t buy sPvP gear with PvE currency, it shouldn’t be the other way around.
You are acting as if there even are any reasons to do sPvP over PvE. If it’s about “showing off armor” which is supposedly the endgame for GW2 you can’t even do that. You can’t walk around in your armor earned in sPvP in a big city or something. Also, you can’t transmute it onto PvE gear. The only “showing off” you can do as a sPvPer is to those 5 people in Heart of the Mists.
They need to integrate the different game modes more so people actually interact with each other rather than keeping it completely separate. I’m sure it’s doable without giving any unequal advantage to someone (For example requiring a certain rank before you can wear your armor in PvE world, and having PvP and PvE sets separate) That way you only get people that have put in the amount of time that it takes to get exotics anyways to walk around in PvP armor
If that is the case, then you certainly understand that PvE players want their PvE skins to be usable in sPvP…right? Okay good!
PvE players get to use all their skins in sPvP, and sPvP players get to use all their skins in PvE after a certain rank. Sounds like a glorious plan!
Yes, I think that’s a good plan. Would allow a person to progress whichever way he/she wants to.
What about a city in a new area with a new “personal storyline” that runs through it?
They really need to have a forum feature that automatically closes threads that are more than a couple weeks old and have no current activity.
There are lots of threads on this topic, you don’t need to resurrect a dead one.
Actually our posts got merged into this topic by a mod.
Completely agree.
Hah no. Rangers still repeatedly get their butts kicked by thieves, mesmers, engineers, and to a lesser degree elementalists.
Just because you’ve lost to them doesn’t mean everyone is doing so
Had this just now, our instance starter went offline and didn’t come online anymore. We waited for him until we reached the next boss where we did need a 5th player. Proceeded to kick him only for all of us to get kicked out, at the last boss.
Great system you got there, Anet

Seriously stop removing content all the time, it’s driving me crazy and making me not want to play anymore. I want to play at my own pace. Hell even now, I’ve played since release and I haven’t even finished personal story or done all the dungeons yet.
STOP FORCING ME TO DO STUFF AT YOUR PACE
I would have rather wanted some buffs for the player itself, not the pet.
i assume, you guys should fix the class itself first… but as you said… you know what happens when you assume…
How about someone reminds you how broken traits, pets, spirits, signet cooldowns and dungeon rangers are?
Yes, this is TOTALLY what the ranger needs.
Not fixing their horrid trait lines, not improving pet AI, not making utility skills actually bring some UTILITY in a team, no, what rangers really need is a fix for the rainbow freaking jellyfish texture.
RANGERS ARE SAVED

But that’s hard and they haven’t had time to really work on the ranger class just since beta but what ever.
Seriously fix the kitten class first.
Enough with the immature, off topic, negative comments. You are not helping.
This change probably takes one designer and one artist, which takes zero resources away from the balance team, so relax.
That’s not the point. Everyone is just really on edge because rangers are actively being denied from invites to groups because they are rangers. We are universally portrayed as being the worst class in the game at the moment. Of course people are going to act in an angry way if something useless like this gets posted instead of our REAL issues being addressed.
We don’t care. Just give us a dps increase and the ability to play without a pet so we are actually a viable profession in a dungeon.
Please call it “Ranger.”
I know they are similar in many ways, it just irks me somehow.
Most people got used to ‘hunter’ after playing WoW for a few years.
Anyways, I came back recently as well and noticed a distinct lack of rangers. Started a dungeon and immediately noticed why. My pet dies in 2 hits on every boss so is completely useless and therefore a big chunk of my dps is missing. Spirits get 1-hit killed by even the most simplest of trash mobs, and my dps is not really something to write home about.
Rerolled guardian myself, what class will you reroll too?
PS: Not being able to play without your pet is really annoying, just give us a dps boost if we play without our pet or something.
So after how many weeks will this get removed?
What’s personally ticking me off is the HUGE difference between the sell price and the buy price for gems.
Average price to buy 100 gems: 2g 89s
Average price you get for 100 gems: 2g 14sWhere does that 75s go? Is it transaction costs? That means an almost 26% procent difference. That’s 12, yes, 12!!!!! TIMES AS MUCH AS ON THE ACTUAL FREAKING REAL LIFE STOCK MARKET.
It’s ridiculous. I know they want to make a profit by taking gold out of the economy. Personally I think it’s discouraging people from buying gems with real money and selling it for gold as well. Especially since they know they’re only going to get 75% of the actual value.
The bold part is quite important here.
Of course they want to discourage people from selling the gems for gold, since they want as many as possible to buy the gems with real money.
That’s why I think that giving a fair price in gold for the gems would in fact promote the buying of gems. Why? Because people won’t feel completely ripped off if they want some extra gold and want to take the shortcut of buying gems and selling them for gold.

Line of Warding:
Tried using this on a platform in the jumping puzzle in WvW on the edge so that when enemies jumped on it they would get knocked off by it. What happened was that the enemy instead got knocked on his back whilst half floating in the air/being on the platform, two times in a row. Obviously the slight knockback should have knocked him off the platform. Please fix this.
It’s a nice shortcut but honestly I still don’t bother with Rapids since it’s faster to just run W1Z2 once more than it is to do this one
I ran into this problem in world 2, rapids. I tried many things like changing my angle of attack by adjusting my position and where I was aiming, in addition to purposefully jumping into the crocodile so he would snap at me.
However, he remained unresponsive so I had to give up since it was the only way to progress.
In encountered this in Rapids as well, did several playthroughs of it but only encountered it once. For me it was the first crocodile in the segment where you have to jump from crococodile to crocodiles and turtles. I got him to finally “work” again by getting hit on purpose by him 2-3 times.

Why are people complaining if it would be permanent? Do you hate permanent new content and instead only want the temporary stuff we’re getting?
Like I said, putting pressure on players to quickly finish things before it’s gone is also what makes me want to play LESS. If they’re communicating to me that I quickly have to do a certain kind of content I am inclined to think “Ok, no way I have the time or want to do that” and just go play a game that I can play at my own pace. It’s too bad, really.
But since this board is only related to the SAB I really hope they keep it ingame permanently, and kudos for the team that made this (and hopefully they will be allowed to make other minigames in the future)
Personally, although people might hate me for saying this, I think they should implement phasing just like Blizzard did. It’s the ideal solution for supplying temporary content that can only be done once whilst combining it with the fact that new players can do it also.
Thirding this, I actually came back to GW2 after a break of around 6 months because I saw some fun content that was not solely grinding. ANet needs to make more permanent FUN content rather than making it temporary and only putting out grindy permanent content. Especially for people that don’t follow the GW2 news on a daily basis it’s easy to miss out on stuff if it’s only around for a couple of days or weeks.
Forcing players that have taken a break to ‘come back before the content is gone!’ is completely opposite to the idea behind the business model of GW2 that is aimed at allowing people to pick up the game and play whenever THEY want.

Do/did the jumping puzzles get removed?
I was on a business trip for the past 2 weeks so I was without GW2 that entire time.
