The active healing is fine, but the passive healing is broken. (Ignore the 89 heal, its from my food)
My Virtue of Resolve says it heals for 300+ but its only healing for 201 HP. Please fix this asap
Why cant we double click right mouse button to lock it in? I hate having to hold right mouse button down to rotate the camera, cause sometimes I unclick it by accident and I lose my target.
So since downed state will never get removed, here are my thoughts on what needs to change about it.
1. You should not be able to use any skills in downed state, only the number 4 heal ability, nothing else.
2. Remove the short invulnerability when you go down.
3. have 50% less HP in downed state. Or have a maximum of 500 defense in downed state, no matter what your traits are or what gear you have.Edit: This is from a World vs World perspective not PvE or Spvp
Ok, by you don’t like the mechanics you mean you don’t like when you go down cause you only want to be able to heal yourself, or are you supper annoyed about when you get people down, while in their down state they can be hard to kill because of their gear and thus are able to get you down and you rather just be able to focus on the mass of other players (WvW) that may be around when down so you don’t have to focus on the extra little damage they are doing to you while down?
I ask because in the second part i would agree (not that i down players often, im not exceptionally good at any sort of PvP including WvW and i don’t hate the mechanic cause its saved me) because i feel like crap when i down them and then they down me and we have a downed fight and i lose. But most of that is because i wont rush up and finish so its my fault.
Now i’m not getting on you or anything but simply saying I DONT LIKE THE MECHANIC doesn’t really help someone like me (who doesn’t mind the system) understand the flaws you see in it…All you really said was players shouldn’t be able to deal damage while down, what the player has on shouldn’t apply to him/her while down, players should have less Vitality while down or have toughness limited while down. And you justified it with…JUST CAUSE…
Soooo that all being said with what i inferred; 1: you don’t want to do anything else except heal yourself while downed, my solution…only use the 4 key when you go down. 2: Other players down you while they are down and you cant stand it, my solution…finish them, or heal yourself before you finish them, or just leave them on the ground and continue with whatever you want to do.
As for the invul. I’m guessing that was put in place because before one of the patches while you were falling down into the down state damage was still being dealt to you and you would die by the end of the animation ( in best cases have a few secs to spare) which was superbly more annoying than…this.
I want the downed state changed ( I actually want it removed, but that will never happen) for one reason only. When fighting in a 2v1 or 3v1, I down someone then I have to keep focusing my fire on them even though they should already be dead. Which leaves me open for attack If I choose to stomp them, so that already hard to do 3v1 is just impossible now. If downed state was not there I could just kill him move on to the next guy, but no Anet favors zergs so fighting in uneven fights is near impossible cause of downed state.
It just gives the side with greater numbers an even better chance. Which means you don’t have to have any skill in this game to kill someone, aslong as you have more people, you will ALWAYS win. Downed state is basically a crutch for bad players (Which is 90% of the MMO population now a days) I miss the days when a skilled player, such as myself could take on groups of players and walk away. That will never happen in this game it seems like.
Don’t get me wrong I love this game, I play every day, but seeing downed state in this game just means one thing only. Players don’t want to take the time to learn to play, instead they have to have this crutch in the game for them because they suck at pvping.
Before you say “well downed state adds more challenge to the game omg learnz to play nub” No it does not, it promotes running in larger groups, Yes I can still win a 2v1 or 3v1 against bad players, but when you have good players with more people on one side it becomes very,very unbalanced. Example: I’m with my buddy roaming, we come up to a group of 4 guys. We down 1 guy “alright lets finish him off” nope! hes back up, “Ok guess we will try to kill him again” Not gonna happen today sorry. If downed state was removed me and my buddy would have a fair chance at fighting this larger group because we have the skill to do so.
Yes we have skills to block them from rezzing, but since they outnumber us it’s most likely not gonna happen. This may sound like more of a zerg problem which it is, because of downed state.
Why should I have to suffer for other players lack of skill?
The skills in downed state have no balance at all. I would atleast like to see every one have the same skills.

No. It is obvious i don’t like the mechanics of downed state, you must not be able to read, by me stating all these changes, one would find out that I disagree with the current mechanics. Also why should I find a new MMO cause I disagree with one tiny flaw in a game I like? Please think before you post such a stupid response. I’m not whining about it I’m simply suggesting some changes that I think should be made.

Well if downed state wont be removed. It needs to be reworked you should only be able to heal in downed state after 5 seconds. No dodges, no attacks, no nothing but a heal (number 4 ability)

Why is downed state still in World vs World? Its just there to give the team with greater numbers an even better chance at winning a fight.. Please get rid of Downed state in World vs World. It makes winning a 2v1 or 3v1 impossible to win, same goes with larger scale battles. I really see no point in downed state in WvW. We have been asking you guys to remove it from the start of the game, but yet its still in here, Why is that Anet? Do you not listen to your players and what THEY want?

Fix ranger downed ability 3 “lick wounds” 98% of the time it never works the pet just sits on top of you.
Is there now Carrion ascended gear? Also is there carrion gear you can buy in Orr with karma?
I think we are just getting nerfs which makes zero sense. Since we only have 2 good builds. Now it will just be one decent build
I made a long post but something went wrong, the short version.
Buff not nerf and give us a lot more builds, instead of one and two.
Split PvP from PvE, it worked for GW it will work for GW2.
I never played GW, but yes this is exactly what needs to happen.

Anet never did nerfs that weren’t really needed (ok save some knee-jerk nerfs like Dancing Dagger and Brawn), but I agree that “those 3 classes” need a buff.

I’m glad so many people agree with this post. I even remember back when the first nerfs where incoming anet said. “We do not want to nerf every single class all the time” (something along those lines) Yet here they are, including nerfs with every single patch that comes out..Please take this post into thought. We want nerfs to stop, everysingle MMO does this and look where it gets them.. Make change Arena net.
If they separated PvE and PvP completely, balancing would be a whole lot better. They would be able to focus on one side at a time without worrying about messing up the other side.
Anet don’t you understand balance? Stop nerfing classes, but start BUFFING all other classes to match the OP ones. Add more builds for all classes. At the moment each class only has 2-3 viable builds. If you keep nerfing classes pvp will die (pvp already has a little bit because of this) So please think about what you are doing stop listening to people crying for nerfs. When the answer is to buff all classes, be different than other MMO’s don’t follow the nerf train.

The pvp forge short bow (AC shortbow) does not glow in the mists unless you Unequip it then equip. It also does not even glow in matches.
Edit: It also stops glowing when you shoot it, same with longbow. Idk if this is meant to happen but i think they should constantly glow.

I pvp everyday for a considerable amount of time. I also do PvE, just made a ranger. Gonna get 100% world on him, but I spend 70% of my time doing pvp. Anyways send me a mesg in game if you want to know more.
Basically just PvP or do the dungeons that you like.
Oh I did not know it had to wait in Queue, I thought it would just cancel everything there doing to use the skill…Thanks for the info
It feels like stomping with quickness is bugged, for sylvari atleast. Everytime I use quickness to stomp someone it goes through the animation fast which is fine, but when he actually slams the flag into them it takes a full second for them to die. I’ve had moments where I go to stomp someone and finish the whole animation and then i get feared or knocked down by there downed ability cause it never kills them till 1-1.5 seconds have passed.
They just need to take downed state out of spvp and WvW its just an annoyance it makes a 2v1 impossible to win if they actually rez each other.
Every single time I hit F2 for my pets ability it never even activates so I have to spam it then it goes on a one second cool down, then hit it again and still doesn’t work then I’m dead.

Does anyone even bother to group with pugs? everytime I do we get stomped as soon as the match begins. seems like they take two points as soon as the match starts and then they wait outside our spawn. To do tournaments do you HAVE to have a preset group of good pvpers or what?
Thief just mash one button over and over and you win.
Do PvP till you figure out it is the worst pvp out of any mmo you have ever played…

You’re missing the point, the lack of skills that each class has. There is dodge rolling and some classes have combos they can do, but I’m talking about the lack of skills this game has. It is no fun playing a heavy PvP focused game when you only have 10 weapon ability’s at your disposal and half of them don’t do much damg or are just there to close the gap between you and your enemy.
I don’t acknowledge anything other than what I quoted in your OP nor do I have the want or desire to get whatever it is.
The problem is One Pump Chump classes are competing with Extremely complicated classes, and that is the root cause of every other issue.
I Apologize for misreading your older post, Your right on the “One Pump Chump” Take thief or warrior for example many people just spam heart seeker or back stab with thief. For warrior just bull charge frenzy and 100B. There is nothing more to that class than just that. You can build differently, but you still gonna end up using the same ability’s again.

I hate the downed state also and think it needs to go, it ruins 1v2 or even 2v2 when you have to take that extra time to stomp a player you already defeated. On top of that skills are lacking.
Spending 450 hours and you still don’t understand PVP, proof that time spent is not the same as talent. Also, fighting guardians in WvW? That’s your example, really?
If you’re spamming 2 abilities in tournaments, you will never do well. Timing and good use of all weaponsets/abilities comboing along with your teammates is what PVP is all about.
I Just used guardian example cause its the most ridiculous one. Even when I fight rangers or warriors it just ends up a stalemate unless I’m fighting an under geared player. As for tournaments its still using the same skills over and over and over. Take my Ranger for example I use longbow/GS I hit 3 on longbow use 2 then 4 when he gets close then switch to GS use 3 use 4 use 2 use 5 and repeat till hes dead (Which takes along time in gw2 since all classes can do everything) yes there are utility but most of them are buffs and don’t add much more to the combat. It just feels lacking compared to other MMO’s

I was In a fight today in WvW 2 guardians, the fight lasted for literally 10min then we both gave up cause we have no way of dealing fast damg and keeping dps on each other.
You’re basically saying that Aion was fast paced, but neglect to recall the Cleric/Templar combination that dominated and survived the most insane damage that both Assassins and Rangers could dish out? Yeah, they were the Guardian/Guardian combination in the Aion universe. Similarly, the bunker builds we have in GW2 represent the duelist gladiator, tanking chanter, and so forth. Nothing about Aion was fast paced except fights between cannon-classes (i.e. Ranger and Assassin), and you know, that is exactly the same as Thief/Warrior cannons here. Almost every MMO I know has these options, and the real problem is that bunkers are far more effective at sPVP/tPVP, not the game pace itself.
PvP in Aion was fast paced yes there was not as much balance, but at least you have variety and a ton of skills at your disposal. right now in gw2 it feels so slow. I mean you even get a 50% speed reduction when you enter combat, to me that just seems unnecessary. All I’m asking for is more skills to use and a change in pace.
This is why the need underflow servers
Whilst I’m not expecting Devil May Cry or Dragons Nest, I think the combat needs to be a bit more active for some classes.
D/D Elementalist is a good ideal to strive towards. Attacking, defending, supporting with that class is very active and has a lot of variation because you can activate your combo & abilities in a different order or timing.
My other class, Warrior, has many moments where my optimal/only available action is to let my character autoattack.
One solution to this is to give AutoAttacks more complexity. For example, if I am strafing to the side before the 3rd attack, then it modifies the 3rd attack into a new string of attacks – slower but more damaging in the end.
If I am walking backwards during my autoattacks, I do less damage but I will parry and counter attacks from the front.
If I am walking forwards, my 3rd attack will be a damaging lunge that rushes me through my opponent.etc, etc.
So I’m fine with leaving most of the bar as situational skills, but the pure-damage autoattack should be much more active, complex and give more choice.
There should at least be chain skills, say I use Leap of faith after that it should give me a chain to where I’m able to do some sort of knockdown or something then maby even have that chain off into something else. Instead of just one boring skill with sub par damg.
That 20 minute fight you had, I would have killed for that opportunity.

Even for other classes like ranger or warrior you just spam one good skill over and over again till they die. Seriously how is this considered real pvp? I tried so hard to like this game, but damn the pvp is seriously lacking and boring. You would think for a game that is heavy on PvP there would be more skills and more depth to the combat.
Edit: I have about 600 hours into the game. Played since beta So don’t tell me how to play my class or say your just a noob. About 450 of those hours where spent pvping

Open world and 1v1 don´t mix.
Those who want small scale will run in smallgroups and those who want large scale run with zergs. Those who want solo action will generaly be squished between.That being said, gw2 isn´t a game for openworld pvp anyhow. Wvw focuses more on siege warfare, with some roaming elements here and there.
You might want to consider seeking another game(df:uw is a strong cadidate) if open world pvp is your thing, but you won´t find your 1v1 heaven anywhere i dare say.
I’ve played a few games with nice roaming PvP. It is completely possible, but a matter of will arenanet be willing to implant a feature like this into the game?
if you’re quitting because you don’t agree with 1 small part of the game, i don’t think there’s any mmo out there that you’ll find ‘better’. you’ll be quitting due to the trinity, the bad graphics, the grind, the bad armor styles, the lack of variety, too much variety, too few classes, too many classes, the music, the sound, the colors, the art style, the story, too many players, too few players, too much grind, too little grind, fights that are too easy, fights that are too hard, boring fight sequences, gimmicky fight sequences, too little teamwork, too much reliance on teamwork, the economy.
it seems you should just make your own mmo absolutely tailor made for your needs.

This is one of the many reasons why I’m quitting this game, it is by no means fun to kill your enemy only to have them downed when your trying to fight 2-3 players. It makes it almost impossible to win a 2v1 or its just down right annoying trying to stomp someone when you have other people beating on you. I really don’t get why downed state is in PvP its just one of the many annoyances in this game. Imho it ruins PvP for me all I think about when I’m about to kill someone in PvP is “OHH can’t wait till they go in downed state so i can get 90% in the stomp animation to have them Blink away or to have them cancel my animation, sooo FUN”
Every other mmo’s PvP is just fine and the players actually die when you “kill” them, but here, nope. Sorry you gotta spend an extra 10-20 seconds to stomp this player after you have already defeated them.
EDIT: Stop with the posts that say “oh your quiting cause of one thing, how childish” NO I am quitting due to a majority of things. Says right there in the first sentence people.

Does anyone else miss real Open world PvP? The pvp on a huge map with players roaming every where not just huge zergs.. In WvW you can occasionally find that rare 1v1 or 1v2 encounter, but before you can even kill them off they run away to a keep or a zerg shows up. I want to be able to Roam free on a huge map with out fear of zergs or anything like that. I play on JQ so maby its just my server and the ones we fight?
If that is the reason, does anyone know a server where it is not like this? ( and before you say go to spvp noob, stfu and don’t even say anything cause I’m looking for pvp on a OPEN huge map)
It is nice sometimes, but other times its just..dead and I see no one around to help me with a DE or w/e it is I’m doing. Would be great if they put a certain cap to how many can be in the map without events being a “zerg.” I just want to see more players around to help with DE that’s all.
