Okay, so the game seems to be freezing and locking my PC. Here attached is my error report. From what it looks like it has something to do with this new option to use Hi-Res textures?
Can anyone confirm this?
Also in my event log, windows it logging an error, "AODDriver 4.2.0. failed to start, file could not be found.
Could anyone shed light on that?
Thanks

Looking for a guild that’s more than exotic? That’s us! ;D
We have a good sized guild (50ish) that has a 1 month inactivity rule (unless told before hand) so we don’t just boost our roster with inactive players. We’re a good/helpful group of guys and gals who like playing the game and have fun with it. Love to WvW but do PvE stuff as well like dungeons/fractals/map completion/guild bounties. And as of this new April patch, have a pretty good TPvP team (surprisingly o.O) We also use Vent and FB to communicate/ coordinate events and get to know each other.
If you’re interested or want an invite, please let me know on here or in-game. ^^
I think I may have found a guild, but thank you for the response!

Hi, I have been playing since before time and am recently looking for a new guild.
I like to play PvE mostly, but would really like to play WvW with a good group of people.
I really enjoy just grouping up and exploring which doesn’t seem so popular to most people. I really would like to get into a guild that enjoys playing together.
I am in Eastern time zone and play during evenings after work, 2-3 nights a week and during the day/night on weekends.
Strange, frequent crashes happening recently

I have been getting constant crashes as well. They are random. It can be 2 minutes in game, 45 mins, or 2 hours.
Only has started happening since the patch.

I have two computers, and BOTH have started freezing and crashing since the latest GW2 update. One PC gives me a scrambled BSOD and restarts everytime.
The other PC will just straight up freeze, forcing me to manual reset. There was one instance that I was able to end the process and I was given an error report to send to Anet.
There is no way that something has happened to both my PCs. There has to be something wrong on the GW2 client end.
I’m pretty new to GW2 after playing WoW for years. Been playing for a couple of weeks now. And I have to ask if I’m doing something wrong in zones.
I am consistently lagging far behind in level by the time I 100% complete a zone. For instance, I just completed Dredgehaunt Cliffs last night, a 40-50 zone. I’ve done everything, gathering along the way and doing events, and I’m barely over 45 now. If there is a large level range in a zone, I often times run into areas of multiple enemies that are hard to get through becuase they outlevel me by a large margin. Got through some of it with a few friends, though.
So, if I’m on by myself, is the only solution to pack up and go to another zone to make up the difference rather than stay put and try to 100% complete in while I’m leveling? That kind of doesn’t make sense to me, but I don’t want to just sit around doing nothing but grinding mobs for levels either.
I honestly doubt you have experienced the zone to it’s fullest. You can easily walk into a new zone, and “complete” the map but be NO WHERE near actually completing the map. There are so many events and mini quests that occur that you may not even see at first glance.
Trust me, the idea of the game is to just let it flow. Try not to worry so much about completing hearts and all that jazz, the game really isn’t that linear.
They did this to increase the field of view of the camera. I play an Asuran, so doesn’t change me :P
I play for the same reason as you Rymer. Sometimes I will have gone 2 hours of play time and done nothing but sight see and explore. There are so many hidden features in the game that people just fly by. It’s kind of like real life. There is a saying, “Stop and smell the roses”.
Life is like an inverse pyramid. You start with everything you need, and from then on it is just a journey.
I think it is a great idea. We as players love being able to customize our avatars and any tool given to help us with that is awesome.
BUT
Clearly, you are nickel and diming us. First of all, the currency used to use this feature requires yet another transmutation type of stone.
So, it is stupid is what I am saying. All those useless transmutation stones I have.
Here is an idea. Allow us to combine transmutation stones, say 3 stones make 1 crystal, or 5 stones make 1 charge so that they are not just being wasted inventory space.
I think you are missing the fact that you can double click your old stones and convert them to the new system….
3 to 1 for stones, 1 to 1 for crystals…
Touche! Haha!
I don’t feel like I ever have to be part of a zerg. Majority of the time I play GW2 is solo or with a small group of friends.
When we play as a group in open world we just explore and whatever we stumble across becomes an epic adventure.
I personally think it is really awesome when I am off doing my own thing, then all of a sudden I see a massive battle going on. Sometimes I will watch it from a distance or sometimes I will join in.
I really think it adds to immersion quite a bit.
I took part in a “zerg train” once, going from champ to champ, which I thought was really stupid and found no fun in that, so stay away from that.
I think this system is awesome. It reminds me some what of skill hunting in GW1. I only assume that more and more traits will be released which will allow for more and more custom classes.
I like it a lot. These traits shouldn’t be easy to get, they are elite traits.
I will just say I miss the days of GW1 of all the boons and conditions. Boons and conditions need to be more a part of GW2.

Just built this PC, brand new.
Hi, I have the same issue. I get a BSOD though it is scrambled. (Screen is blue and looks like the lines of texts are skewed and unreadable). Then PC auto restarts. Only happens with GW2.
There is no error report for me to capture.
You must be in Asuran Guilds!
Cough*Paragon*Cough.
Horizontal progression is a fairly simple accomplishment in the minds of an RPG community
Give the players the control to customize! In any form! More things to make players unique, and allow their guilds to stand out and promote their guilds emblems! We want to be proud of our guilds and our accomplishments!
I’m talking more flags, banners, emotes, armor and weapon skins, all the good fluffs!
Player controlled instances, ei, player housing, player shops, guild shops, guild castles, guild merchants.
An easy one, musical instruments (see Lord of the Rings online). I would spend hours in a tavern playing music with friends and guild mates.
The thing I like about player and guild house, player and guild shops is it gives and endless amount of reason for players to use their crafting skills. Like it never plateaus. People can constantly be crafting new materials, objects, decorations, furniture, etc.
Utilize your space guys. For real. I go back to all the main cities, all the areas that were created and they are all empty in areas except for the bank and TP areas.
Host more events and utilize all that space. It is a huuuuuuge game with such a beautiful world and it isn’t being taken advantage of!
Hmm, I didn’t know that, cool! They should be available through karma merchants and regular drops too though.
The ingredients listed there to make one seem pretty tough to get, it shouldn’t be so tough for an archer to get a quiver.
Easy as said! Quiver models and animations! It can’t be too difficult for you guys at Anet to create some flashy quivers for us bow users to sport! It looks much better than pulling invisible arrows out of your back
Hey, I have lots of gems that I need to spend! Give me something to spend them on
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, as I am sure it has been but could not find anything in the search!
Really, this makes a huge difference for bow users…the small details can go a long way!
Thanks for the offers both of you, though I would like to keep Anvil Rock as my home server. Deadknight, I didn’t see which server you are located?
Hi! I am a 24 yrs old, so you could consider me a mature gamer. I have been playing since launch, off and on. Recently starting playing a lot more and have been enjoying the wealth of updates!
I enjoy all aspects of the game, PvE, PvP, WvW, RP, blah blah etc etc. I like it all. I consider myself a casual player that has hardcore spurts. I do enjoy to RP and know quite a bit of GW lore as I played a shameful amount of GW1 before heading into GW2!
not to say that I’m ashamed!
I’m currently on Anvil Rock and have my own small guild that has one other active member and we are both looking for some guild action! I have a level 80 Sylvari thief, 71 Charr warrior, and a few low levels.
Anway, please, if there is any guilds wanting to let me in as a casual-hardcore player please message me! Also, the other active member in my current guild (my cousin) would also like to be part.
Thanks!
I agree that any class using a bow should be able to equip a quiver, if not to include extra stats, for the cosmetic purpose itself. Pulling arrows out of your kitten is getting old, it’s like playing a game that lets you drive vehicles in first person, and you look down and can’t see your arms..just a floating steering wheel/handle bars. Developers, quit being fking lazy. Simple cosmetic things and animations like this make big differences, especially in rpgs where the game revolves around our characters and us staring at our characters, screen spinning and drooling at our armor and what not :P
There was a big discussion on this BWE2 and some in BWE1 even less in BWE3. I think that due to it is available in the trading post now most people do not mind that it is character unlocked. Thus why It has not changed. There are a few people that would still like it account bound.
Also if they do make them account bound they will have to pull them from the trading post to keep there value. Meaning that everyone will be forced to get all dyes to get the dye they want. Yes it is technically possible for them to be account unlocked and still in the trading post. But may not be the best for the economy.
Personally as they are available in the trading post I am having more fun with them that way.
It creates more of a market for them this way. Kind of like guild wars 1, the more demand for a dye in game, the more the merchants sold for as well.
This way people can create their owns dyes and make a sub profession of it. Personally I think it would be cool if it was more like GW1 where as the dye was consumed on use and if you wanted to dye again you had to buy more. Also, to add to this, it would be sweet if we could mix colours to create our own colours like in GW1.
Yeah exactly, all they would need to do is create quiver models, they wouldn’t even need animations for it, though they could get crafty with some animations.
With the way the weapon systems work. there really isn’t a reason to add new professions. From here on they can pretty much create new professions just by adding new weapons.
For example already, playing a gaurdian with a staff is pretty much a different profession than playing gaurdian with a hammer or sword and torch.
In time I bet we will see things like name change, character change, race change, maybe prof change on the gem store.
GW1 even had “make overs” you could buy from the store.
This is actually one of the things that bothers me the most in a lot of mmo’s. It isn’t hard for a quiver to be added to the game, and that fact that there has been so much attention to detail in general it REALLY surprised me that Anet never added this before launch. For 1, while you play the game you are starring at your characters back…..so as a bow wielder, I am left constantly sighing as my big bad norn pulls arrows out of his braids.
So, yes, please, for the love of the game, add some quivers, and also, add the arrow as well….this is something that should have been put into the game before launch, classic rookie mistake here. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a minor detail, but it’s these minor details that add up creating a superior game.
I agree, small things like this go a long way and add a lot of immersion.
