i’ve been stuck at 0kb/sec for about 4 hours now. tried patching on two computers, and even tried re-installing the client. I can’t even install the client, it just gets stuck at 0kb/sec

I’m just unhappy with the fact that the skins are obtainable only through the investment of a lot of gold rather than being a chance-reward from an event, karma, or bag: Trick-or-Treat with a small chance of getting a random skin similar to the chests.

The costumes i don’t mind paying for (in gold or cash), it’s been that way for as long as i can remember in GW1.

The fact that craftable Halloween weapons cost hundreds of gold (10,000c) to make, or in the case of the farmer, a long time of farming, is ridiculous.These weapons have the value equivalent to a legendary, if not more.

In the case of gambling, this game is not supposed to be an online slot machine.

For future reference, just because you have a job, children, or tons of cash does not make you superior to anyone. Other people do not have these because they are either students, minimum wage earners, and/or retirees, which you have been or will be at one point in your life.

The going rate for gold→ gem is ~1g per 100gems. Each key is then ~1.30g. Let’s say you spend it on a reasonable amount of chests (10) and get a skin. You spent about 13g. On the TP right now, skins average around 3-5g with some being ~24-28g. More likely than not, you’ll get boosters from all of them. Not everyone is able to break even with the chests and therefore just aren’t worth getting.

Most of us ( personal speculation) want the skins to be obtainable through a reasonable amount of effort similar to that of obtaining Oppressor weapons in GW1
as opposed to paying hundreds of gold/gem/cash for a CHANCE to get an item that is a one-time-use consumable applicable to one weapon and one weapon only. And even then you might not get anything.

Some are saying “this game is not about skins/aesthetics”. Yes it is. GW1 for example, all end-game weapons have the same stats. The only differnce is rarity in skins.

My example: this whole conflict is like a car
You can do one of two things: Build it from scratch by yourself. or Throw in 100 tickets into a raffle and 99 of those tickets burn in some freak hand-picking accident.

Skill damage (visible damage) does not accurately portray that which is dealt.
For instance, if i use a skill (2-5) on a Bandit, it says it does 400 dmg and takes out a quarter of the bandit’s hp bar.

Weapon damage.
Same example, but i auto-attack. It says it does 100 dmg and takes out 2/3 of the bandit’s hp bar.

This issue is with all skills 2-5

Not sure if this has been mentioned.

“Whirling Axe” true damage is significantly lower than the numbers that pop up.

Say I use Whirling Axe on Bandit, Finisher does “400”, takes out a quarter health bar.
I auto attack for 100 and it takes out 2/3 of the hp bar.

Even then it only centers on a specific group of people (not social class – elitist/fanboy/casual). And then you rely on waiting for everyone to be on, have the time, and then be able to do the dungeon. (which becomes WoW all over again. raids)

I’m not saying CoF as a dungeon, or any dungeon for that matter is excluding casual players. But the people saying that that is the ONLY way to get it done and “do it or dont” are simply talking out of their gluteus maximus. I ran dungeons with randoms all the time, no problem in GW1 or GW2 pre-patch (not including CoF, which i had only ran for a week). The attitude of all these “oh i’m good, so you must be good” and “you gotta be hardcore” people is just a bunch of fecal matter.

Elite dungeons should not be limited to guild-only/group oriented people. Some people prefer to be on their own and not join a guild. They run with other people of the same nature, but they probably only meet them every once in a while.

Fun has a very broad definition and varies from player to player. But having events or dungeons that limit the amount of players who are able to finish them is bovine feces.

“Oh you should use VOIP, you should NOT do it with people you dont know, you have to do it ONE certain way” is not a valid argument for being able to do a dungeon.

For the casual player, all they can find is random people. It’s great to meet new people, try it some time. The dungeon should be easy (retaining challenge and difficulty) to coordinate with a group of unknown players. “This is what’s gonna happen, this is what we do, and you do this, you do this, etc”

Playing this game should not require you to be using some sort of verbal communication device nor should it be centered around 5 select people. Just because your group can do it does not mean other people can. The age range in this game is wide, though it is predominantly occupied by those 17+. You can’t expect everyone to be as skilled/into the game as you are.

As the dev said “You should have 15k-25k hp” in a downscaled 75 dungeon. That just isn’t the case with a vast majority of level 80 players. It also implies that some classes should be geared toward 1 or 2 traits and that any other traits are useless.

Having full exotic mean having the highest defense for your armor. The second benefit of exotics being increases in power, precision, vitality, etc.

@Daboris. No, but defense is bulked up. From my 80 set rare to my 80 exotic, the only difference in Defense. and Defense should be accounted for as well.

While i may have 13k hp at level 80, let’s say i have 100 defense
While someone may have 15k hp at level 80, but have 80 defense.

I would take less damage, but my health would go down at roughly the same rate
If i took more damage with my health higher.

While what you’re pointing out is true, you have to remember that some classes (individuals for the most part) set up their traits/armor to fit what type of character they play. I.e. Tank guardian, Damage guardian, Healing ele, Damage ele etc.

Video does prove it up to a point. However, take into account your HP threshold. Not everyone has ~15k hp at level 75. I’m an 80 guardian with 30/20/10/10 full exotics and i only have 13k at 80, 11k at 75

100% Map Completion is a good way. at level 80, i started clearing every zone, racked up a couple g’s, the rewards i also sold for a good 3g-6 g

I have 1400 tokens. I have not spent a single one. I was not even aware there was armor until someone mentioned it two days ago. Right now in my bank i STILL have 1400 tokens and i have no intention of spending any of it.

I have 1400 tokens. I didn’t buy a single piece of Flame Legion gear/rune. I have a full exotic set with full superior runes and a exotic weapon. I never did this for the tokens…

Well. Let’s assess the situation.
1. Dungeon difficulty has been “increased”
2. People are saying it is near impossible (I agree, It is difficult for the casual player and dungeon is still filled with bugs/response issues)
3. Dev posts Response.
4. Players respond to Dev Post

and a loop cycle ensues.

“It’s bad!, drop the patch”
“It’s good! keep the patch”

The thing I, and I think a lot of players on the forum, see is that all the Developer (of the CoF dungeon) did was put a big “Sit down, shut up, and play what I made for you”. At least, that’s what I took away from the Post.

Communication and compromise is the key to success. However we are lacking both.
Those that voice their opinion, and rightfully at that, have been silenced. And those who say “Yay, the developers did something right” get to shut an argument down. We argue that “hey, something isn’t right”, and all we get is “silence fool!”

By now, it’s almost 24 hours since the patch. We do not have an official post or response to the huge uproar that happened today. Granted, ANet has their own “priorities”, but losing a lot of players doesn’t seem to be one of them. I personally would like to see just what they were thinking when implementing the dungeon patch. And i don’t mean just the dev who toyed/made the dungeon, I mean the people who tested and responded to this patch before it was released.

Having 1 single post hidden within a large thread which voices ONE dev opinion is not very convincing, In fact i find it highly unprofessional and irresponsible. We expect a proper response along the lines of "Well we did this because _ . However, we are still __ " not "We did this because ___-, Be quiet, and ignore this update"

Nobody likes to hear “I did this, it was easy for you, now i’ll tweak it so only a small percentage of people can finish the dungeon without dying 982 times.”

I have been reading this thread since about half hour after it was posted. I have seen NOTHING on the forum/facebook/wiki about how the devs are going to reason with the players, and i think that is what a lot of people arekitten off about.

There will always be “the easiest dungeon” in any mmo/game but that does not mean it should be “the least impossible dungeon”. I have done all the dungeons (before the patch), and I must say there are more important things to worry about. I like many others have also run CoF over and over for gear/money/tokens and Magg just had too many bugs.

Applying a patch that makes the dungeon more difficult or has a different goal (i.e. Kaboomium lava jumping) without covering the fact that it has bugs and Magg glitches out half the time is unacceptable to a lot of players.

The Dev’s claims of what they implemented, aside from the increase in time and needing all 5 players to cross the lava, are not even close to the truth. The average player does NOT have 15-25k hp. NOT EVEN CLOSE. I’m an 80 guardian with 30,20,10,10 and i only have 11.3k hp when downscaled to 75 (at 80, i have 13k with full exotic set, accesories, runes)

You should realize something is wrong with the logic when you make claims and 90+% of the players say it isn’t true.

I for one have lost interest in CoF since it is frustrating (yes i have run it since the patch) due to the new “updates”. All I do is run around in LA or just hunt a few Risen in Orr.

It has given me an opportunity to level up my other characters but that really isn’t a reason why the patch should be kept.

We would like to see some real evidence of what has been going on vs. what you will do to fix/change it.

In some games, such as League of Legends and a few select MMO’s, they have “Spotlights” where they would show what was coming up and why/how it was implemented.
More than just having “tada! update!”, a heads up would be nice, or rather a group discussion (forum) to say “hey, here’s what’s going on, what do you think of it” and we’d probably take kinder to things like this.

No one likes to be surprised by something that would infuriate them.
If devs are making claims, we expect to see proof/evidence of what you believe to be true rather than just finding out or knowing that it obviously isn’t.

I could go on forever, but I’d rather leave it to other people to fill in

i have 100%map completion, all paths done, 100% explorer achievements, i do wvw on the side, i have 3 mastered crafting and finished 3 storylines.

I’m a level 80 guardian. Full exotic armor, full runes, accesories. At 80 i only have 13k
Sidekicked to 75, i only have 11k.

You’d only have 15-25 if you had ridiculous gear or if you maxed out vitality/health which some people don’t due to their playstyle and what suits their class.
