How many (gem-store) boxes did you had to open to get them all?
As many as the Gods and Goddesses of RNG deem necessary. :P
They’re just lazy pokemon….
Not bugged for me. Myself and 3 friends took about 10 mins after the boss fight to smash everything. The last couple of pieces are the toughest of course, but we finally did it. Final piece was a this little swingset – really hard to see and much harder to spot than trees.
From the sticky on the first page:
“Don’t worry if you miss one of the stops. Once Tixx arrives in Lion’s Arch, you can play any day’s version of the airship instance you’d like!”

For anyone wanting to play songs with the bell but don’t have notes, there’s a page on reddit just for them:

Oh wow. O_O Challenge Accepted!
Indeed. After receiving my princess wand, I forgot about Legendaries.
I’m banking about 5 more wand skins and a few of the candy cane and sling shots for future characters or current characters (once they get to 80)
From reading a majority of “complaint” threads in this forum, I think people aren’t so much “raging” at the minis as a whole. What the majority of the complaints stem from is the poor implementation of the lottery boxes (worst thing ever to come from the F2P MMO movement – shakes fist at PWI & NCSoft )
Dropping the limited edition Minis in a RNG lottery box is nothing but a blatant cash grab aimed at the innate weakness of voracious players. It’s a predatory move. And sadly, it’s working and has been working. Otherwise they wouldn’t pursue the RNG lottery box trend so intently.
Those minis should have simply been put into a mini pack like they were during the Halloween event.
We could still burn that pack if we wanted the santa quaggan, but at least we could do it in one guaranteed purchase instead of another pay-grind.

Yes, you’ll be able to access it when Tixx arrives in Lion’s Arch. It’s the same dungeon, just slightly different activities and enemies
No I’ve been buying the boxes from the gem store,Not a single mini from it though haha, should of just bought the other minis or the tonic
ugghh! I’m sorry to hear that
…reasons…
“Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man”
Frankly, I loved the jump puzzle. It’s beautiful, not as maddening as the clocktower and everyone I know was able to complete it (and some of them usually hate the jumping puzzles in this game).
So I believe it was much more INCLUSIVE and I’m happy that so many more players can complete this puzzle. Holiday events should always have this spirit of inclusion, rather than acting as divisive events in the community.
OMG!! That framerate!! How do you play like that?!?!
Thanks for sharing though
None – unless I’m helping out someone who hasn’t run it yet. Otherwise it’s not worth it.
I still have to figure out:
skins obtained by ugly gear have a duration?
No silly :P This isn’t a PWI game!
You can’t buy the Endless Tonic and the Unbreakable Bell from the Gem Store or the TP.
I just bought my endless tonic today…
Oh wow Thanks for the correction! I wrongly assumed they were account bound. Oops
Who needs a long bow while there is a slingshot?
?ok?Anet where is the giant sling skin for long bow??
Also a very valid point. Slingshot is awesome. Also the princess wand and the candycane. Best skins
Because there’s one in the Gem Shop ^_~
Will they unbind them? (RNG Gem minis)
Will they be back next year? (RNG Gem minis and Dungeon minis)
Will they make a 3 pack like the halloween ones? (RNG gem minis)
Will there be more then the 500 cogs in later parts of the events?
Will we get another chest recipe to have another try?
I doubt they’ll unbind them for economy reasons.
Only the devs know if they’ll be back next year.
Only the devs know if they’ll make a 3 pack (probably not at this point – too many have spent a lot of money on the RNG gem boxes that there would be an outrage.)
Only the devs know if there will be more cogs (but so far it seems unlikely)
I highly doubt we’ll get duplicate toy frames.
I’ve enjoyed most things about the event and plan to buy the bell and endless tonic later on.
But since the Minis are account bound I wont be able to get them currently.
I’ve bought 40g worth of boxes so far and had no luck which is a set back from getting my kudzu haha.I’ve bought the costumes and think they are great,I also bought the halloween mini packs as it wasnt a gamble.
Just my thoughts and questions other have put forth.
If you’re buying the Wintersday gift boxes from the TP, they’re not the ones you want to open to try to get minis. They drop mostly ugly trade-ins, snowflakes, skins (which are way cheaper on the TP), the tonic and the unbreakable bell.

You can participate in all the Wintersday events. Bell choir consists of zero combat – just some dexterity. Jump puzzle is the same. The Tixx “dungeon” that is travelling to each city scales everyone up to lvl 80 and the snowball fight also scales you and gives you new skills anyway Really, as long as you’re lvl 2, you can participate in everything!
Except that the festival hat and costume are town clothes :’(
I’ve basically become addicted to this event. My partner and I keep going back for more double-fisted bell goodness!
The reward resets for each city. You get the stuffing and cogs reward the first time you run the instance in the city Tixx is currently hovering over. He sits over each city for 24 hours until he gets to Lion’s Arch.
Got one..
Shortbow skin
I think you’re talking about the regular Wintersday gift, not the rare version
Princess wand is only for female gamers? Pretty sure it’s just awesome in general
Nope. Haven’t seen one yet and neither has anyone in my guild.
Hopefully fixing the scaling of mobs from the gift boxes.
I love the doll I’m totally making it as one of my 2 I’m allowed to make.
There’s a list on the wiki
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic_Snow
I was kinda hoping for a santa-esque outfit too, but alas.
And while the Wintersday outfit is indeed beautiful, it’s still just town clothes and therefore feels like a waste I want to wear it while I battle Dragons!
Trust me, I’d love to buy it, I really would. But not while it has the town clothes restriction.
Complete it as many times as you want and you’ll receive a gift each time
I soooo wish there was another way – I’d even buy it outright because it’s so darn cute! But I’m NOT going to toss all my money away on lottery boxes for a chance at it.
Too bad Anet missed the opportunity to just let me buy it like I can buy the weapon skins and outfits.
They drop from the Wintersday gift boxes you can get from doing the choir bell event, the jump puzzle, the snowball event and from killing mobs in zones. Giant gifts also spawn (drop) around the zones. Look for the red and white mint candy icon on the map Then go smack the big box with the pretty bow, fight some skritt and open the gifts
Personally, I think they should do away with “town wear”, and make all town-clothes into item-masks.
They cover the counterpart armor component, so you can look spiffy even while fighting ghosts, risen, and dragons. Would be a much better motivator for people to buy from the gemstore too.
It would certainly make this outfit an insta-buy for me. Frankly, being able to wear anything in combat in LOTRO was wonderful. I would be overjoyed if they ditched the town clothes system.
I love the picture in the store of the two humans wearing it. It’s so cute.
It makes my female charr look like the Big Bad Wolf wearing grandma’s clothes though.
LOL Thanks for that screenshot – made my night
It really is beautiful, but I so wish I could wear it in battle. That’s the only thing that keeps me from slamming the buy button
It’s a more inclusive event – which in the spirit of the holidays, I think works just fine
It’s gorgeous, just tricky enough not to make my friends too angry (they usually hate these things) and much less of a lagfest than the Clocktower
I love it! brb, going to run it again just because I can
Middle – 584 and Top Player
Then I left to throw myself at the jump puzzle
Even though it still took me about ten tries, I really do agree that it’s easier than the wretched Clocktower
Nope. I’m not really into lottery games.
Zones are pretty empty, regardless of what the server population lists says. However, I’m sure the Wintersday event starting tomorrow will begin to (hopefull) enliven some of the zones. Sadly everyone is pretty much just camped in Lion’s Arch treadmilling the Fractals.
Well if they have’t driven some to leave the game, they’ve certainly chased people out of all the zones. The zones are sad ghost towns now that everyone is treadmilling ascended gear. :(
Honestly, this whole argument/complaint is moot if the hat makes my character bald when I put it on. (like every other hat) It’s one of the saddest things ever Her long flowing golden locks are shorn clean off whenever a hat comes near. Also if it’s just a town clothes item, then I really don’t care. It’s just a wasted skin to begin with if that’s the case.
Orr is a pretty lonely place these days shakes fist at FotM
It’s called Bag of Lies.
It should be called Bag of Cake.
The name is not a reference towards any game mechanic, but instead a reference to the Guild Wars that rocked the world of Tyria long ago and are a part of its history.
In light of the fact that Anet has made it clear it wants to encourage a community that doesn’t breed animosity through conflict (within servers), I can’t see them inplementing actual G vs G. That’s what sPvP and WvW is for
No… They WILL be adding Guild Wars. ANet just decided to sell us an unfinished product and will implement it later.
Source? And aren’t we a little grumpy today

sigh this topic again? We just had a huge thread about this and at least a couple others in the past 2 weeks. Not sure why this topic needs so much debate….but it always comes up in every MMO forum at some point or another. Gamers seems to love to debate gender vs. sexuality in RPGs. But I don’t see a female or male character and immediately thing bow-chika-bow-waow about the person at the keyboard.
