Guild Wars 2

First off just wanted to say thanks a lot for all the great feedback. I tried both tonight with varied success since I’m pretty rusty in general anyway I had mild success with both. I’m not a completely new mesmer, just have never thought to really try getting into it on top of never trying torch :p. I will say the extra stealth was extremely helpful and being someone who basically only played thief on and off for 2 years having extra stealth is very nice lol. So far I think I will stick with the torch for all of tommrow as I will finally have a full play session. I’m guessing I’m not quite ready for a lockdown build which seems to be the best way to play s/s. It’s not that I don’t understand all the other classes and what to look for more like I feel very slow to recognize things when comig back usually takes a few weeks to feel truly comfortable again. So in a little you will prob hear from me again asking about sword/sword lockdown lol. Again thanks for the feedback and if the spelling was butchered apologies I am on my phone.

Thinking of coming back to the game as I usually do every few months. Having been a thief main for quite awhile this time around thinking of focusing much more on my mesmer. I was wondering if shatter s/s would be viable in the meta and maybe be pointed in the direction of some solid builds. I see most are running s/t or s/f or s/p all of which I have tried in the past (mostly s/f and s/p). I’m open to either staff or g/s offhand tho i would prefer g/s off s/s main if possible. Build would be purely for roaming and spvp if possible. ( though it seems like the extra escape on torch might be to good to pass up against people who Are good at spvp)
P.s. I’ve been reading some general guides but any tips on mesmer play would be welcome as all I’ve mostly only played thief and some ele here and there. My Mesmer the least played out of my classes pvp wise.

Thinking of coming back to the game. I have 2 geared chars a mes and a thief and a third level 80 who im about to start gearing which is an ele. Im looking for mostly a roaming havoc guild as i pretty much have only mained my thief since launch. I sent an app into the website jw if that would be the only way to find a guild i would be looking for a primetime to late night NA guild. mains name is luna shadowstrider. I have alot of pvp exp.

Hello all im looking for a roaming wvw guild on yaks bend hopefully one that also does some spvp. I main thief also have a mesmer and about to have a new max level ele tonight! I xfered over here witha guild after first coming back to the game however due to internet issue was not able to stay with them. I am now looking for a new guild because i am quite lonely xD. I main thief and would like to run him for roaming/wvw however for gvgs i am open to playing mesmer or d/d ele if needed however would HIGHLY prefer to play thief. Hello all i play thief and main it have over 1000 total thief hours. I can also play mesmer decently and have been playing ele for about 3 weeks now.
I am looking for a team that needs a roamer i don’t mind playing ele or thief or even mesmer if needed. Im learning warrior however very weak at it still. Please message me here or in game for tpvp solo q or even hot join fun. I am seriously looking for a team, however id also love to find more friends to play with.

i dont find the fury uptime to be as valuable as 20 percent damage xtra for a fire air rotation to finish people off. Why is zephy so much stronger the bolt?

I was wondering what you guys thought of a d/d build with 0/2/2/4/6 ( picking up bolt to the heart and tone splinters and then standard traits. I usually play Mesmer or thief but this week I’ve started an ele for a change of pace and love it so far. I tried the standard build and felt like I couldn’t finish opponents, this build seems to hit much harder while only losing one form of condi clear, and granting me the finishing burst I love. Have only tried it in spvp mostly atm as I am still figuring out if I want an ele or warrior but will be doing some Wvw with my ele eventually. Anyways thoughts on the changes and if they kill me to much and or what gear would u change for this build. I’m running celestial strength runes and battle and energy so gold.

83 views and no replies. Ive been playing basic d/d and loving it so far looking for a build with a bit more burst if possible,maybe something that hits harder in the fire or lightning dps phases. I wouldnt mind being a little squishier either i main thief and mes as i said so im used to dying quickly if i mess up once.

Hello all I have 3 maxed out chars and I’m debating on my 4th to either be an ele or a warrior and had some questions.
1.is there any more bursty versions of d/d that are viable for Wvw/spvp
2. I’m very interested in fresh air wondering if anyone knew of any good guide videos.
3. Do u guys recommend d/d or s/f I was thinking d/d for spvp, and the more bursty fresh air for Wvw fun.
4. I’m stuck between warrior and ele what would pick, I do pretty much exclusively pvp at max level unless I’m grinding for a piece of gear

Hello Im looking to start my 4th alt character and im stuck between warrior and ele. I do wvw and spvp pretty much exclusively.(if not my mesmer can easily handle the pve conetent lols)
1. Im curious to if there is a sw/sw/GS build that would be possible. From what ive seen sword is condis and GS is power.
2. Is there any SW/SW build that doesnt use longbow back up.
3. i really really wanna use sw/sw if i roll warrior i have 2 max geared and elveled thiefs and a mesmer so im going to enjoy having a bit of tankiness , however i will be running a glass setup.
4. Is the only good roaming zerk meta axe/shield/GS right now?
5. last question would be warrior or ele what would u choose?

I have ALOT of Wvw experience as far as gvg, and raids go I have also spent countless hours running solo roaming ops, 5 man team ops, and 10-15 man small scale Zerg busting. I am also a rank 30 something in spvp as I’ve started to dabble in that quite a bit. I’m not against a hardcore or softcover guild but I would like to be surrounded by people constantly trying to get better as that’s what I’m always trying to do.
So to sum things up:
1. Looking for pvp focused guild, revolving around Wvw, small scale havoc and gvg group play.
2. Some casual pve ( again mostly for monies)
3. Skilled players always looking to improve

Recently joined this group is the friendliest mmo guild I’ve ever been a part of. On top of that they really know there stuff weather it be top tier fractal running all the way down to the gw2 lore. Great group come hang out with us!

Hello all I’m luna and I need a new home. I’ve been on jq since the week the game came out. I did take a long break away from game as I got extremely bored. Now being back for a month I am hating not only the Zerg heavy mentality on jq but generally not being able to find any hardcore roamers. I roam in the day randomly and at least 2-4 hours late night. I also do spvp and some pve (mostly dungeons for da $$). I’m just trying to find a guild that focus on roaming whether that be helping solo roamers,small group havoc causing, or even zerg busting. Interested in low and mid tier servers pm on here or in game please!

ty for the info…runes of eagle due an extra 5 percent when the target is blow 50 percent health. It has nothing to do with ur max health… thats rune of the scholar i believe which gives u 10 percent xtra over 90 percent health. I just found in spvp when i ran them after the initial burst people just melted to mirror images dodge roll daze shatter 23 stacks vulnerability sword 2. Runes of divinity are what im using on my thief but there so kittening expensive. i love the remove boon on shatter for spvp so imay look into that. Do you have any personal experience with scholar or divinity runes by chance.

hey guys im looking for a wvw roaming build here my gear is full zerker. Im goin to use mainhand S/F and off hand GS or Staff pretty much w/e im feeling at the time. Ive spent a good amount of time on my mes lately and i want an extremely high damage build. I find survivng on the mesmer is easy due to all the shatters. Im thinking of running a 30/20/0/0/20 build taking the following traits.
Domination: rending shatter(IV) and mental torment (1), then either GS training or empowered illusions…. focusing mainly on i zerker skill 2 and dodge followed by a mind wrack for my opener. I cant decide which trait would be better here.(PLEASE HELP)
Dueling: standard Blade training, Deceptive evasion
Illusions: illusionary invigoration, precise wrack

I know many are a big fan of the extra self shatter personally… i am not i find that a stronger opening/aoe mass damage with the GS helps when outnumbered/roaming in pvp. I am also open to suggestions of how i should tweak the build when i am using the staff vs GS as i am honestly a fan of both. As i said i am not to worried with survivability my skills are for that but i want to bring people down hard and fast.
P.S. if anyone has suggestions on runes id also be open to them i am debating between eagle,scholar,and air atm.

Yishis first time i watched one of of your vids i was lvling my baby lil asura thief. I based my build and gear off urs even, except i went a lil glassier with the gear xD.Your videos are awesome man u truly showed me how to wvw roam, and because of you i have gotten many compliments on my roaming skills. I not only wanted to say thank you, but to encourage anyone who hates on your videos to do the same thing and show us them doing it. Its not easy to fight amongst zergs or defend a keep against a zerg and still take 15 plus or w/e u did in that “keep defense video”. The changes to stealth will suck but true d/d thieves will still be here. I dont need perma stealth to kill you,if u cant live through that short of a debuff to get your next CnD off….reroll. sorry for ranting basically just wanted to say keep up the good work with the videos they are awesome.

Hey whats up seph here thinkin bout comin back to GW2 i played for a brief amount of time but could never commit because i had obligations in SWTOR being in a top 5 pvp guild on the west coast harbringer server. I have ALOT of mmo exp BC wow, and swtor also, with 3 years exp between the 2, most recent game was league of legends which i ended up being very good at however the player base really turned me off to the game. So thats my short sweet comp gaming history im a nub when it comes to this game i wont lie i have a lvl 37 thief and a baby ele and mesmer so far. Im lookin for a guild who is big on WVW and willing to help me understand the mechanics of this game better. I also see obsid that u said u need late night gamers…. look no further i always play late at night (till 4-6 am) at least 3 nights a week even when school is in being that my schedule normally allows for it. Hopefully looking for a new home here so if u guys are still recruting let me know. Have most voice chats and im willing to download any thx for reading and let me know!
