I finally got it on Iron Marches (guested on TC but ended up in overflow) after grinding all the maps over 4 days, and 3-5 invasions per day.
i made sure not to switch overflow maps and killed at least one Champion Twisted minion and closed at least one portal in each invasion meta-event. Once I had done so, I would AFromK in a safe point while I did my RL stuff (and to lessen the possibility of a disconnect) and came back to claim the final reward. i didn’t manage to kill Scarlet for Iron Marches cuz we did not finish the final wave but I still got the Invasion Canceler achievement. WPing around on the same map also did not disrupt my getting the IC achievement.
To those who are still stuck, keep tracking and keep on trying. I sincerely wish you all the best!

Why is this unstickied?! There was no bug fix, no map tracker, nadah! Help us ANet. come on
This doesn’t fix the issue for everyone. I understand the code level fix would take longer than a week to implement.
However, there are other acceptable responses:
Give people the achievement credit for free. Mistakes happen but THAT would be customer service.

Guys, looks like a fix ain’t coming
Hi guys,
After some careful investigation of these achievements, we believe there are a few technical restrictions and communication issues that are causing the problems here.
First, Molten and Pirate events do not grant achievement credit. This means that if you hop into an invasion right as scarlet spawns, or if you spend an entire invasion on pirate and/or molten events, you will not get achievement credit for that map.
Second, disconnecting during an invasion seems to have some odd effects on participation credit, especially if you end up switching maps in the process (i.e. moving to a different overflow). You should still get credit if you participate in at least one watchwork event after reconnecting, but if you disconnect, you should assume your participation credit up to that point has been lost. This is far from ideal, but it would be a code-level fix, and we wouldn’t be able to get it in before the end of the event.
Lastly, because the previous two issues are not super obvious, people may be losing track of which maps they have already gotten credit for. The meta rewards are always given as long as you’re on the map when it ends. Many players expect this to mean that they also received achievement credit (which ideally should be a reasonable assumption). However, as this is not always the case, they may mark off a map as complete, even though they did not receive achievement credit.
So in order to receive achievement credit, you need to participate and complete at least one watchwork portal event, and still be on the map when the meta ends. It doesn’t matter how far the meta gets progressed, and you don’t need to participate in any Molten/Pirate events.
Hopefully this clarifies some things for you, and many apologies for any frustration this has caused. In the future, we will try to ensure that large-scale achievements like this are more easily trackable to cut down on any potential confusion.

Seriously, all this time was spent debugging and with no promise of a fix or an achievement tracker?
Do help us over here. At least do something to help those of us who are so close (11/13 or 12/13) before the event goes away or another new content update comes along. Please please please

In another thread I saw someone post that they had seen a dev comment that you need to tag a champ Twisted for the invasion credit to work. If that’s so, it should be much more widely broadcast. ……
Show me the Dev Post or until then this is pure speculation.
Josh Davis:
Hey folks,
We’re still looking into this.
As I mentioned before, there are a few things that MIGHT be affecting your ability to complete these achievements:
Killing Molten Alliance or pirates does not count towards event credit.
Killing spawns from the Clockwork part piles does not count towards event credit.
The best bet for getting event completion is going to be taking down the Clockwork champions. They are directly tied to event completion.
Please keep providing details when you fail to receive completion.
Thank you!

The Information which parts of an achievement are done / not done would be helpful:
Please add your votes to this thread “Extended Achievement Tracker”: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Extended-Achievement-Tracker so ANet will know we want this ASAP, as well as fixing the buggy achievement

I would like to join my guildies and go to Scarlet’s instance. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening until I can figure out how to get this to advance.
You can do that without Vorpp’s achievements. My guildie did the Playhouse dungeon without doing Vorpp and Closing Ceremony. Just join a party with someone who can open the Playhouse portal
Can we have a developer comment on this? at least give us a invasion achievement map tracker so we know which ones we have yet to complete
Debugging the problem might take a while but with a map tracker we can at least focus on the maps that aren’t counted instead of a hit-and-miss approach

Please add this in the game, ANet. Obviously the game already knows which maps the players have completed towards the achievement. Letting the players themselves know is the logical next step
Here are some suggestions to deal with this issue:
1. Put a tracker in the achievement UI like you did with the kites.
As I have mentioned many times in this thread, it is quite impossible to expect a player to repeat 13 maps of 45 mins each, especially with the randomness and bugs associated with this achievement and I sincerely hope you can understand this from the players’ point of view.

The plot thickens…
Since some of the performance improvements, a large amount of effects in the game have become completely invisible. This issue was introduced at the start of the Queens Pavilion update.
In the dredge Fractal, the lava buckets do not animate, and the molten steel effect is invisible.
In Sorrow’s Embrace story mode, the lava buckets at the Iron Forgeman also do not animate, and the molten steel is invisible. (So players will just start burning, without a visible source)
In the Aetherblade jumping puzzle (not-do-secret) in Gendarren Fields, all the steam and fire effects from the traps, are invisible. This means players are knocked back and set on fire by things they cannot see.

I’ll like to add that the rolling balls of fiery death in CoF P1 was invisible to 80% of my Pug party earlier today (including me). The weird thing was i can clearly see the rolling balls of fiery death in the Volcanic/Grawl fractal!
And what is it with the 2 new cutscenes added for the start and end portions of the rolling balls of fiery death section of the Volcanic fractal? Was it even necessary?

Can we as players petition ANet to implement this ASAP? Fixing the buggy achievement is just as important but i’m sure as kitten not gonna devote 13*45 mins of my life to figuring out which map i’m missing
I can empathize with having a busy life and not always being able to fit my gaming schedule in between work, home life, and social commitments. Your comments are not lost on us.
We’re exploring some ideas for the future, including a system that would allow certain bits of Living World content to be accessed independent of the release. Plans and designs have not been solidified yet, so I want to temper your expectations. But if you have any opinions on the matter feel free to let us know. We’re already looking at ways to leave some LW content behind to evolve Tyria and improve the game. This would be one element of it, should we decide to build such a feature.

TOTALLY THIS! Let us players know which maps we’ve already covered. I’m sure the data is already ingame, since it is tracking how many invasion maps we’ve completed. This is making a simple achievement needlessly grindy
Mount Maelstrom twice in a row…
^this. And please give us a way to track which maps are considered complete for the Invasion Canceler achievement. That way there’s no second guessing why we failed that map, both on our part and for ANet’s debugging purposes.
On a side note, let’s not rush out new content for the sake of freshness. Take your time to test it. We’ll appreciate it much more. But thank you ANet for listening to us

Meta achievement: Queen’s Jubilee Completionist – 50 pts
Complete 16 achievements from either this category or Jubilee dallies (they are listed under daily but will have a different icon from the normal daily achievements).
Completing the achievement below will not grant you enough to finish the meta so you will need to do Jubilee dallies.

Pyro’s thoughts on his Immortal Mesmer build:
Having played extensively since the big patch, I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that this build is no longer viable. The retaliation trait was the very basis of this build. With that trait effectively gone, this build no longer has any offense available to it, and simply becomes a difficult to kill Mesmer that you can completely ignore.
I will be adding this note to the beginning of the build. Many of the tips and tricks I have in the guide are still helpful and valid, so I’ll be leaving it up, but until Anet fixes the retaliation trait into a form that isn’t worthless, this build will unfortunately remain unplayable.
Mc Donald, you remind me of Pennywise the Clown…
Simply awesome Reisinger! You have a bright career in video game music scoring!
To the HoD in NSP Hill last night… I will not accuse anyone right now because my screenshot are not good enough but I suspect zoom hacker. I will be actively looking for you.
Honestly, I’ve seen a lot of “strangeness” to use a polite term this week. HoD appearing within SM inner before the gates went down. A HoD mesmer walking through the walls of SM. A NSP blinking across the field when cornered…4 times within 2 seconds..faster than abilities can recharge. Another NSP disappearing when downed. Etc.
It’s a shame that people feel that they have to cheat to win. (And yes, I’m sure that we have some on our server as well)
Exploiting on HoD will not be tolerated. Please do provide clear screenshots so we can deal with the issue.
Could we have the GW2Buildcraft link for your build as shown in your pictures?
It’s a clustering illusion.
The clustering illusion refers to the tendency to erroneously perceive small samples from random distributions to have significant “streaks” or “clusters”, caused by a human tendency to underpredict the amount of variability likely to appear in a small sample of random or semi-random data due to chance.

To all our honourable ET and FC opponents, my guild members and I are appalled by all this boasting. I do apologise on behalf of HoD. We tend to forget that we’ve just recently fallen to Tier 8 and that should be humbling enough. I myself have met many wonderful opponents in my solo roaming and I do respect you all. Once again, our sincere apologies
