Well, I think there were some great characters in the personal story with whom I’d rather form up a team again than with the current DE 2.0 members, like Galina and Snarl, Elli, Eilye Jeyne, Benn Tenstrikes and his parents, Agent Zrii.
I’m sad that all these characters were sidelined in favor of the biconics.
The only one I really like is Canach, but he was a temporary member of the team.
I’m not really fond of Taimi when I’m on my asura guardian, since it’s always Taimi who represents the brain of the group (though it’s more of an issue of how your race doesn’t play a part in storytelling most of the time).
I think her “character development” was pretty awkward and forced in Buried Insight:
Taimi: I’ll be staying in Rata Novus with all this delectable research—bummer!
<Character name>: Alone? Are you sure?
Taimi: Hey, would you ask Rytlock if he was sure? Canach?
Such a stupid comparison….. how can she compare herself to those 2 ……. she is crippled, she lost her golem, she is basically defenseless. Times like these when we should really treat her as what she is, a little stubborn kid.
I think we let her do what she wants way too often.
To tell you the truth, I can’t really relate to the biconics. I don’t find them intriguing or fun.
During the personal story, there were 2 times I felt that I’m part of a real team. Once in the “Estate of Decay” mission and then during the Order of Whispers story missions in Orr (Stealing Light, Conscript the Dead Ships, Ships of the Line).
I hope some day I can say the same when I’m with the biconics.
And now that we speak about the biconics, this thread reminded me of an old one written by Shriketalon titled “The Biconics cannot carry the GW franchize”, and it’s sad but what he wrote is still relevant today.

My new mix&match armor for my tempest:
Fantastic! All of the pieces look as though they were designed to go with each other.
With the golden accents I can easily see her as being an Egyptian Goddess, especially if you also wear the Golden Feather Wings or the Wings of Glory (or the Macaw Wings for a perfect Wadjet).
Thank you!
For the backpiece, I use the Light of Dwayna at the moment.
The armor skins I use:
-Leystone Cowl
-Tempest’s Loop
-Phoenix Vest
-Profane Gloves
-Triumphant Leggings
-Sorcerer’s Shoes
I’ve changed the look of my sylvari ranger:
shoulders: nightmare court collar
chest: nightshade coat
gloves: nightshade gloves
legs: firstborn leggings
boots: firstborn boots
The dyes I used:
deep glacial teal, Glint’s purview, shiver sky, enameled sky
My new look:
Glacial Eye
T3 cultural shoulders
Carapace chest
Carapace gloves
T3 cultural pants
T3 cultural shoes
Light of Dwayna backpiece
Dyes used: perseverance , shiver sky, celestial

Odeezee
I just wanted you to know you have spoken from my heart. Thank you for your post.
I tried to create a look that uses the new scarf. Here is my ele wearing the wintersday earmuffs and scarf with the aetherblade chestpiece, skirt and gloves; and the order of whispter boots. I use midnight ice and shiver sky dyes.
After the forum reorganization many threads were moved into the general discussion thread, so I decided to bump this thread up for the newcomers to see the amazing creativity of guild wars 2 players:)
I managed to craft Sunrise a while ago, so I thought I post some updated pictures of my character
Sometimes I use my mix-n-match armor, and sometimes t3 but I have plans for the new carapace set, too.
Sadly, I can’t even get past the first npc. She just keeps mumbling incoherently.
Bugged, perhaps?
I have the exact same issue T_T
Serene won’t offer dialogue options for me, so I can’t get the first book.
I have the same problem. It would be good to get some answers
+1 to Konig. The story doesn’t make sense now.
I can confirm that they removed the Greatest Fear part from the personal story. After the patch I chose Apatia’s story (“I worry that one day my duties will cause me to condemn someone to agony”) in “Light in the Darkness” but I could never experience it. After Forging the Pact you have to go and defend Fort Trinity where any reference to the greatest fear arc is removed from the cinematic dialogue with Trehaerne. I finished my personal story yesterday and while I could choose a greatest fear, the corresponding storylines were completely cut out.
That is correct they are all vague. He did not say yes it is intentional not did he say it is a bug.
I am personally suspecting it is a bug as the game files for the quest are still in the game. If it was a intentional removal players would not be able to play the story.
Okham’s Razor
Them still being in the game files is outright (indirectly) explained:
They did not alter the story placement for those characters that were already in chapter 7 or chapter 8. To quote:
If you were on the storyline pre-patch, you’ll still be on it post-patch. (Thought it might not be visible until you reach L70, since it’s in Chapter 7.)
From this very thread.
In short: you will experience no loss of the greatest fear storyline if you have reached Forging the Pact. You will experience no reordering of Orr’s plot if you have reached Temple of the Forgotten God. If you had not reach them then you will experience the change. Ergo, the files must remain in the game. This was likely done to prevent confusion (lol) over those who are in the middle of said plots – or to prevent players from missing/repeating story steps if they’re in the middle of chapter 8.
Why are you so intent on proving to me that it is not a bug and is intentional? Again the statement from Jeff stated nothing in regards to removing anything story related from the game.
Unfortunately, I also think it is intentional and not just a bug. In the battle of Fort Trinity, you have a conversation with Trehaerne at the beginning and at the end where you mention your actual “greatest fear” storyline (you know the cinematic voice acted dialogue), but these lines are now not present in the conversation, they were also cut out.
(edited by Seraphina.6859)
I’d like to see if new characters/players can get that dialogue.
I continued my personal story from the orders storyline on my lvl 80 ranger, and yes, you get that dialogue option when you talk to the Pale Tree in “Light in the Darkness”; however, you won’t see the corresponding storylines. After the “Forging the Pact” mission you have to go and defend Fort Trinity. After that, you continue with"Against the Corruption". The story of Apatia/Tonn/Syska is completely missing.
To quote myself from another thread:
I deliberately waited with my ranger’s personal story to experience the new rewards after the patch and I’ve never thought that not just the reward system of the story would change. I reached the Temple of the Forgotten God strory mission now but at this point I the story has lost all of its cohesion. Here are my observations:
1. In “Light in the Darkness” story step I choose Apatia’s story just to realize that the Apatia/Tonn/mesmer saboteur storylines are completely missing and at this point in the story I think they cut them out completely.
2. After Forging the Pact you have to defend Fort Trinity now. There is a slight change in the conversation with Trehearne, he doesn’t mention Apatia/Tonn/or the saboteur just talks about how we drew the dragon’s attention to us. Unfortunately the new dialogue part wasn’t dubbed ( I couldn’t hear neither my character nor Trehaerne speaking).
3. Right after this I was teleported to Cursed Shore to follow with the “Against the Corruption”, “Cathedral of Silence / Romke’s Final Voyage”, and “The Source of Orr” missions. After a mission you’re automatically teleported back to Fort Trinity and you can start the next mission from there (in the air ship, you don’t even have to move an inch)
4. In “The Source of Orr” story mission you see all the NPCs who were there in the pre-patch version. This doesn’t make any sense since you haven’t met many of them due to the new order of the storyline. For example, Sayeh is there and when I talked to her this is what my character said: “Twice you’ve given me aid. Once with Apatia, then at Abaddon’s Temple. I am in your debt.” Too bad that my ranger has never met with Apatia and never been to the temple of Abaddon at this point….. If you speak with Galina, you mention to her how crucial was her and Snarl’s presence in the fight against the Mouth of Zhaitan….
5. Now after the Source of Orr comes the “Temple of the Forgotten God” story step. After Trehaerne delivered his speech, he started to talk about Tonn’s death, his widow and that I shouldn’t feel burdened by his death… (it’s a good thing that I chose Apatia’s story that I couldn’t experience, not to mention that I talked about her with Sayeh in The Source of Orr story step; also with a new character you don’t even know who the hell is Tonn at this point) and he introduced me to Sayeh who doesn’t seem to know me.
I have to tell you that I really dislike the changes to the personal story so far. I can just imagine how confused will the new players be when they play through the story.

Guardian here, too. I feel that this profession has a solid place in the game, plus I really like the theme of this profession and it’s utility skills.

I changed my guardian’s look :
Chest: t3 cultural
Shoulders: t3 cultural
Gloves: Aetherblade
Pants: Arah
Boots: t3 cultural
Dyes: midnight ice and shiver sky
For weapon skins I use:
Staff, scepter, focus: Ley Line skins
GS: Cobalt
Hammer, sword: Glyphic

I updated the look of my warrior to match the new ambrite weapons:
Same here
… however i have only 1 of them
It looks nice
I was lucky with the fossils (probably because at first I wasn’t really interested in these weapons…) I hope you’ll get more fossils, too
I really loved Destiny’s Edge 2.0 and the story in this release apart from some minor flaws
The affection between Kasmeer and Jory was shown well (not over the top in your face, at the wrong moments), we spent the time fairly evenly with each member and Taimi was awsome again. I think the story is getting more and more intersting (something that I couldn’t tell about season 1) and that last cutscene fulfilled one of my wishes. One could argue that Belinda’s death happened too soon since we weren’t emotionally invested in her yet, but surprisingly I felt that scene very touching as opposed to several character deaths in the personal story. I also really like the new story journal format of the living story.
The face of your sylvari is so beautiful Sera!
As Aguri has pointed out, certain angles are just not really good for the asura. If something is bugging you about the face you use, I suggest you try out a different face because no matter what we say if you are not content with your choice you’ll be always unhappy with her. I’m afraid the problems you presented with the pictures won’t go away with just a little slider adjusting.
Finally, my guardian:
1) my mix-n-match armor
2) Citadel of Flame dungeon armor set (I use the shoulders and gloves)
3) t2 asuran cultural heavy armor set (use only the boots)
4) Arah dungeon armor set (the chestpiece and legplates are used)
Here is another comparison picture of my elementalist.
1) my mix-n-match armor
2) t3 human cultural light armor ( I used the shoulders only)
3) Zodiac armor set (gloves and boots are used in my set)
4) Twilight Arbor dungeon set (chestpiece is used)
5) Arah dungeon armor set (leggings is used)
I would like some side-by-side comparison of a full set of x armor and the mix-match version. Some of these while looking awesome, look like they are part of a set anyway(maybe you’re that good at matching).
For your request here are the armor sets I used pieces from: from left to right 1) my mix-n-match armor, 2) Aetherblade heavy armor set, 3.) Arah dungeon armor set, 4) t3 human cultural heavy armor set, 5) Order of Whispers armor set, 6) Barbaric armor set.

My little guardian:
Wow, i’m sure I saw this char (based on the name of your upload files) standing in Rata Sum a couple of days ago and I couldn’t stop staring, I even took a screenie because I felt so inspired hehe
Looks amazing! May I ask what dyes you used here?
Illumination (lighter gold) and Redemption (darker gold) for the gold parts and Burgundy dye. On the scarf I use Blood dye. That’s all:) Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t check this part of the forum. And I’m glad you like it:)

Thank you for the nice compliment Iris
I mean no disrispect to the artist, but the loading screen of Dry Top is just too abstract, thus showing us too little about the zone we’re venturing in.

Awesome pictures Celestina! Asuran animations are the best.
