Why are people so against making it easier for other people to see things? I guess ‘cause it’s easy for you it must be easier for everyone else, huh?
Also the Halloween JP wasn’t technically moving. It was just an illusion. If you went too slow, you’d die. Similar to the Wintersday one. Weird, isn’kitten
Its more enjoyable seeing the other characters and it does add to the challenge of the event. They already nerfed the present field, how much easier should they make it?
I noticed the presents appear all at once now rather than a few at a time. It also seems they last a little longer before they pop.
Anyone notice any other changes in the JP this year?
I totally disagree, having others in the instance makes it much more fun.
“Class Reviews – Should I Trust Them?”
.. only if they are written by Harvey Dent
I love the seasonal events, and, what makes them enjoyable is that they are fairly rare and not available all the time. I focus most of my time on the event when it is running.
The effort should be in expanding existing events like Wintersday & Halloween, and have maybe one other seasonal event. Any more than 3 seasonal events and you really start to water down the whole concept.
I love the Halloween & Wintersday events!
Several of the adventure points are “Gliding Puzzles”. I love jumping puzzles in this game, and these are a fun alternative as well.
I also used the trick where you run ahead at the end and jump on the small platform to the right instead of waiting on the closer platform on the left.
So there is no question it’s impossible to score any higher than this.
Makes me wonder if 21 is possible …
At the end, you can save around 3-5 seconds by jumping directly into the presents rather then jumping back onto the trail after waiting for the boulder to move past. Its a tricky jump that might be a little tough to hit 21 times in a row though.
Merry Christmas !
I couldn’t disagree more … I like wintersday primarily because of the jumping puzzle. It is actually quite consistent, and only rarely do you see any glitches.
I can’t say I’ve seen this bug, but if the field is full of presents then I’d normally just jump immediately anyway which may make it harder to notice.
I noticed someone running straight through the rolling boulders (snowballs?) yesterday without being knocked off the ledge. They weren’t jumping or dodging, just straight up running into and through the boulders.
One thing that is not mentioned enough is that you should zoom out to max (or close to max).
This has the visual effect of slowing everything down and thus making it easier with less hectic visual noise to deal with.
I notice that it will automatically zoom in a bit sometimes when entering the puzzle and occasionally when being ported back to the start.
The real problem is when you equip one two-handed weapon (e.g. staff) that un-equip’s two single handed weapons (e.g. daggers). I always have to search my inventory for the second dagger.
I’d prefer a “reserved spot” for certain items that I equip/un-equip.
For example, I’ll occasionally equip dagger vs sword vs pistol and it would be great if they always went to a specific location in my inventory when I un-equip them.
i swear they’re pulling the longest running troll gag in history,
they’re not really clueless monkeys, its all a twisted test to see how long before we snap.
No, that would be AoC (Age of Conan), but if they keep this up they’ll be in the running for sure.
I have to agree, these changes are simply wrong.
If you must nerf the visuals for PvP then why not have two sets, one for PvP (minimal), and one for PvE/WvW (normal).
I see a lot of hate on the forum, but as a casual player, I am enjoying most of the HoT content.
The only issue I have is that many of the Adventures (e.g. shooting gallery, etc.) are unavailable for too long a time.
Just wondering if there are any jump puzzles in the new HoT content.
I don’t have a problem with people getting the basic achievement for completing the jumping puzzles by any means necessary, but I do think there should also be something extra available for people who do it without any help (such as teleporting). Just look at the new jumping puzzle in Lions Arch, its much more of a challenge with no teleport.
Even just a new title would be something.
I may be in the minority but I play the game casually and mostly for the jumping puzzles. Its great that you added one more in Lions Arch.
Couple of suggestions:
1) Add a jumping puzzle to the options for doing the Daily
2) Add another level of achievement that you get if you do a jumping puzzle without using teleportation of any kind. (i.e. the moment someone uses teleportation after entering the zone they could no longer get the achievement).
I absolutely loved the Wintersday content, primarily the Winter Wonderland jumping puzzle and the Bell Choir. I haven’t logged in this much in a long time.
The fact that they are challenging is why I like them, please resist any urge to nerf them in the future!
