Hey!
Very lately, since I started not representing guilds perhaps, I’ve been not getting boss guild decorations / trophies from some or maybe all raid chests after a boss kill. In a weeks time I know I haven’t gotten them from Matthias Gabrel and Mursaat Overseer (CM) kills with my norn female berserker and from Gorseval while playing with my female human tempest. There’s probably lot more of this happening that I don’t notice.
I leeched a gorse kill last Sunday without getting to the boss area myself. Maybe that has something to do with it? Other than that I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary that could help reproduce the bug other than the not representing guilds thing. I’ll update the post next week when I kill more bosses with both representing and not representing guilds. Thanks!

The OP was talking about autorunning. When did this become about autowalking?
The screenshot OP linked is of autowalking. Though I concede that autorunning is a problem.
Your “evidence” doesn’t show the snowflake, so it’s no evidence, but I guess that was the intend.
Thanks for holding us up for about half an hour to an hour.
I doubt they respawn in 1.5 seconds what it takes my camera regain it’s view.
Snowflakes are all on a timer. Very easy to see if you just used a stopwatch.
The reappearance of snowflakes after melting is on a timer but not when they start to melt each time.
^ Autowalking does not destroy the snowflakes. I’ve seen 0 evidence to point otherwise.
Snowflake appears and starts disappearing the moment the autorunner drops off the platfrom.
I’m talking about autorunning with the walk toggle on. I believe running causes the character to drop nearer the snowflake than walking.
Autowalking from the quaggan platform DOES NOT DESTROY the snowflakes. The reason it seems so is because everyone jumps on the platform all the time when it spawns (like in the picture). That said that was me being plain afk.
I found here because I saw your /say message and wanted to let you know that it’s indeed not harmful but couldn’t due to you having me on your block list which is totally understandable. I strongly dislike perceived griefers too. (EDIT: However painting Mystic Builds as some kind of griefer guild is kind of low whether by purpose or accident. SALT didn’t make me do it, I did. SALT is a well respected large modest guild with zero tolerance for toxicity.)
So is there a reason for afking in winter wonderland? Yes. Some people enjoy speedrunning the jumping puzzle. However getting to a low/none population speedrun instance takes many hours. That’s why some of us resort to afking in the regular instances. I’m not after gold so I didn’t end up doing the jp. Practicing speedrunning techniques is harder on a high population map so that’s another reason to afk and not do the puzzle.
Another, well known, afk spot is in the gingerbread man path where one can autorun without triggering the presents. I don’t know about the 2nd path since path 3 is my favourite and I was really happy to get to know this afk method couple days ago that has minimal setup time so that if I decide to jump a few rounds in P3 I can get right into it.
So yeah, by writing this I just wanted to offer some insight to some of you from this aspect of this jp. Happy Speedrunning and merry Wintersday.

Or add the nornish armors that are in concept art.

What is the reason behind not enabling cast bars?
This is interesting and I would hope for an official answer. The ones I can think of straight away are for not playing the UI but the game and it’s more realistic that way too. Makes playing require more skill (debatable of course).
Some may say it isn’t needed as you can attempt to learn every classes animations and you should know what is coming. Well even if you know animations there is so much going on on the screen that it becomes incredibly difficult to keep an eye on every skill, especially if multiple opponents are on screen.
But you don’t see everyones cast bars on the screens either unless you tab like crazy and that’s only bringing bars almost on par with observing animations.
I then spotted a rifle warrior aiming at me, but had no idea how long he had been stood there. Was he just starting to wind up his shot or was he a second away.
Learning killshot’s animation doesn’t hurt even if cast bars are put in.
Guild Wars spoiled me. I didn’t truly learn many animations because they had cast bars. I didn’t look peoples cast bars either to know what foes were or are going to be doing.
If I recall correctly this style is a design decision so only if it doesn’t work or is in other ways a bad thing they should “fix” this problem by adding bars or something.
The asura have the Eternal Alchemy, which is to me, similar to people who speak of ‘destiny’ or ‘a divine plan’.
To me it seems a lot like a ToE, theory of everything.
Why is there religion in video games?
Because realism. That, and having gods is a norm in the fantasy genre. We could do without realism but it would seem odd. I can’t imagine GW without religions.
- Inside the shortcut worm you can dodge when you touch the ground for a speed boost(?)
- There’s 2 convenient digspots before and right after the shortcut worm (landing area & on the water front of the leaf one jumps)
This way the pet system would improve but at the same time some of us are longing for a way to play without pets. I don’t see rangers being fixed petwise (compared to gw1 ranger) before that too is possible. I don’t want to take advantage of animals irl or ingame.
Still it’s depressing they don’t (do they?) fix clipping issues. In virtual worlds looking good is the most important thing.
A redditor calculated the horizontal FOV to actually be approximately 65 degrees. Here is the thread http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/118t3a/fov_is_anets_math_bugged/
I am getting headaches almost every day. No other game has ever done this to me. Dear Jon Peters, you might be wrong this time.
Trading post made life easy. I admit that. The thing is that WTS spam wasn’t a bad thing but restricting working options is. Trading became a gold sink too? The whole game seems like a gold sink. If p2p trading makes comeback the game will be more social by increasing communication between players.
I would like this to happen too. I was surprised the feature wasn’t in. Not having the system means all non lvl 80 exotic accessory skins are obsolete. How many skins there are, clearly over 100? All wasted. Transmuting accessories is essential for RP and aesthetic purposes. The current system feels not RP-ish enough for a AAA RP game and limits the personal attachment to your PC.
Imo pathfinding isn’t needed as long as the system has other important features in it like persistence to move towards the target even though the character’s course has been changed or the ability to stop when it seems like the character isn’t progressing towards the target anymore and of course nothing should happen when you click to a spot that is outside of the map or inaccessible (they would have to map those areas). It’s lazy to expect the character to know how to go where one wants (pathfinding) with one click when WASDers usually have to spam and hold 3 buttons to do anything.
Simple pathfinding is great but when it becomes a navigator automating your play, no thanks.
My local gamestop already has those so I think it’s not a problem for game stores to get them.
Beta had limited access. We weren’t allowed to go to orr. Skillpoints / DEs weren’t then bugged because there weren’t this many players etc. I think you need to reword your post.
Nurvus, yes, that’s what this thread is about.
The amount of sets imo doesn’t matter. Why not make it 4 like GW1 had. One/two for combat swapping and four for out of combat swapping.
Another solution to OP is to dodge jump when needed although it fails often.
Buy it later when you have gold and transmute it to your gear then if you are happy with the looks. A quick way to make money is selling materials to Trading Post. I made several gold pieces that way.
I think I got it by finishing a sPvP game or rotation.
Probably because some animal rights activist says it promotes real life animal fighting or something.
Nah. Mini-pets are toys. Pets on the other hand..
I think we will have our polymock battles.
All I see is bashing the idea without any reasoning. Why wouldn’t it work? Why would you be not able to do all the things you can do with wasd with mouse.
The ANet mod said no multiboxing when the context was botting. Also nothing’s set in stone unless it’s said by Gaile Gray or other high authority ANet person. Gaile Gray gave the green light for multiboxing for GW1 if it gave no advantages.
It was in GW1 and hopefully because of that will be on GW2 too. There are older topics asking this same improvement. We don’t need duplicates.
I too would like to see this come true.
I would be very interested in seeing someone kite efficiently with point to click.
There should be some GW1 GvG matches in youtube for you to look at. I don’t know which matches and players but I’m pretty sure there are some.
Also the top-tier GW1 PvP forum suggests it. Ie the elitists. The elitists are right. We hate it but they are.
Edit: Lol. Your name apparently gets censored.

Many skirts in GW2 have also pants in them which means they offer more protection than only pants. My 2c there you go.
Why? So you have a healer in your group —> things take 15% longer to die and people will die anyway because the monsters spike you down in a second or two anyway.
Lion’s Arch is the easiest to go to. Ofc it’s the most visited. If ANet removes to capital city waypoint fee we’d start seeing more traffic for example in rata sum which has nicer npc locations than what LA has.
Picking loots distracts your personal story experience and the personal connection to the npcs in it suffers because you are just picking loot instead of helping them. Idk about pve but pve personal story needs this.
ANet is already making this feature and you can see it in beta video(s). It’ll come I’m sure.
If implemented the speed boon should only last the amount it takes to get to the first objective since it would be too beneficial to have swiftness in combat.
I now have a build that can get me perma swiftness and I think thats the way to go. Through your own build.
Marconius, I think the g recruitment forum we have now is good in making sure we don’t look only our server’s guilds. I don’t mind having to use the search function there to search for the server’s name if I want to. I’d like to keep it (alongside server specific forums if they’re made. Idk if that is silly.)
Sorry if this is old info in this thread. Afaik there’s no rp servers because every server is rp just like in guild wars 1. Also iirc they’ve said english IS the language of the servers that don’t specify a language.
On topic: I would find it disturbing if people raged over guild advertising. However I’m glad I haven’t seen that yet.
What if “We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2” talks about this grind: " — the game is this boring grind to get to the fun stuff."
We really can’t know IMO. There’s this possibility they did not say that there would be no grind at all.
Why not. It doesn’t hurt anyone. Graphics toggle would be nice too.
The current situation is unacceptable and caters only super casuals who don’t really care about their true performance. I’m seriously disappointed if it stays like this. Can’t be good for the possible e-sports scene either.
Another great addition to the TP would be an assignable home page (landing page when O is pressed). It would reduce traffic and save time for players who don’t use the gem store much.
Multiboxing is bannable so it’s not a reason to leave something out. GW1 had follow and it was fantastic. When you catched up the person you were following you stopped and you had then manually refollow.
Inspect won’t add elitism if it only shows item names(, levels and rarity).
FP view is coming when it’s bug free.
Multiply Issormirs health value by 5 and the fight would be epic. Last time I did it I only attacked 25 % of the fights duration to make the fight fun for all and not last only 10 seconds.

I had some irl reasons I made 4 norn like being from the north and being tall and hating humans. Ingame reasons include their anarchism and being big which makes their armor and weapons big which means they’re easier to look. I’m a visual person so that’s important to me.
Idk about the racial skills. They are mostly boring.
I think the image restriction is to prevent people spamming their nsfw kitten and meme pictures.
Don’t you think it’s good?
For the same reason 1 can’t win 10. The line is somewhere (I don’t know where) when the opposing team has too much firepower and health to be taken down. There is skills in the game that you can use to disrupt ressing so I’d say it IS possible to win 2 v 5. Some dots on the layers and knockback for the ressers for example. You are right that it should be possible to win 2 v 5 with the right players but are there even that good groups in the game yet that can do it? And how would we know? First you have to prove that you can’t win 2v5 if you want to argue that it should be possible.
It just looks that way. Remember that you are controlling your character like in WoW. The animation makes you think otherwise but you are. I like realism in animations and so do many others however maybe they can fine tune this a little. Idk. I’m fine with it and totally used to it by now.
Guild Halls + GvG and scrimmages. Let’s hope.
I’m surprised none ever whined about this in the 7 years of GW1. It’s the GW way I guess.
On topic: and if some fields would be empty they would jus not show. I think this is a good idea.
Compare the cost to commander book. Plenty of people have those already. Come on. It’s tier THREE. The final tier. One of the best looking armor sets in vanilla GW2. I’m happy the price isn’t any higher.
