The staff nerf was to stop burn guard in WvW, which is really popular in T1 servers. The sub par damage from staff was irrelevant since the easy 5 targets proc for Permeating Wrath was all the weapon was about, they buffed the other abilities of the staff so it would stay relevant on frontline guard.

Frontline still has a good option but now staff doesn’t have an auto attack anymore and lost anyway to create pressure in a choke point making frontline guardian purely melee. Whats different now ? After using #2-3-4-5 you have to wait 4-6 sec with a worthless weapon in your hands and wait for weapon swap to come up and use most likely hammer or gs.

Burn guard goes somewhat unchanged since they will just swap to Longbow and probably lose some dps

Honorable staff now gives less boon duration but its permanent regardless of weapon equipped or in use, am guessing its an attempt to keep staff relevant

If I must speculate, its maybe to keep the ground clear for the proper condi spec which will be coming soon and it seems it will give even more utility so burn guard could become the new norm. I would assume they would ditch the staff anyways for the axe/x + scepter/torch

Just chill and play casual for a week or two. Im pretty sure it will resolve itself in one of two ways. Either your server drop and you will face more appropriate opposition, or you are facing a stacked server, in that case they will drop like a stone the next unlinking.

With glicko being back in, one week you will stomp your opponent and next week you will get stomp by the opponent, its no secret that glicko just doesn’t work. Most likely your next “sets of opponent” will still not be appropriate to the skill level of your server. Am not going to say the “M word” in here it might get the thread deleted for that

It’s a shame too the 1up 1down was just starting to settle in, i.e keeping t1 servers in t1 and t2

How do I make the difference between players lagging and hacking ? I’ve seen some player like Necros or Warriors who are able to teleport 600 range or so in a direction, usually teleporting away from fights while cc’ed or about to go down.

Should I report them for botting ? I was told that it’s also the category for hackers. But does it even give any proof, it seems like not much could be gain from chat logs of a hacker.

People saying it brings toxicity is nothing more than an extension of the community (sPvP) which is the most toxic I have ever seen in any video game, so pretty much adding gasoline to the fire for them

Its not broken, the player pool is atrocious that’s the problem. According to what I’ve seen in gold I could imagine the pool of available player for people in legend is never and ever above a 100 and am being generous here. The longer your queues goes the worst the match will be, since the restriction goes down, after 3min in queue the restriction for multiple of the same profession in the same team is removed. I would guess a same thing could apply for skill rating, but I can’t get proof of that.

If a pug commander is flat out kicking you for playing on medium armor you must be on a t1 server and you got yourself to blame for that, otherwise don’t expect to be placed in a good party if you are on a thief

Anet doesn’t say anything about it, right now the meta is really on boon sharing and condi cleansing your team mates, engi, thief and ranger don’t provide such or can’t provide has much compared to other classes

If you have been playing the game for a long time you would know that thief and ranger were never wanted in WvW since the dawn of time

While on topic, Signet of courage is awful, even if the active is really powerful, the passive AoE is terrible and so is the 3.75sec cast time.

It’s not like Guardian is lacking a powerful elite skill since the 3 other ones are very viable, but changing signet of courage into a buff that reduce condition duration by like 15% for 5 targets(at 600 radius) and the active be 5sec resistance to 5 targets with a 2-3sec cast being able to cast on the move, would make it an option to consider in WvW or PvP, with same 180sec cd.

Anybody knows the reset timers for Bloodstone crystals, Petrified stump, Winterberry bush and Jade fragments?
I know it doesn’t reset with the normal daily reset, it seems like it’s on a 24h timer(ex:gathering at 5pm and they will respawn at 5pm the next day)
Can anybody bring light to my conclusion?

Maybe “Players can only take 33% of maximum health as damage per sec from condition damage” So a player would die in 2-3 sec from condi stacking, compared to right now with more like a 1-2 sec time gap to cleanse your 67 stacks of bleed, am just throwing ideas around

Removal of downed state is never going to happen, Anet would never make such a drastic change between game modes, they barely want to change skills between PvP and PvE so I doubt they would remove downed state in WvW. Even if it proved effective they wouldn’t, since they don’t want the feel of the game to change in between game modes

With player population at all times low, I would guess it must be even easier now

GS has the best DPS in all the class(Mesmer, Guardian and Warrior(maybe not Rangers)) The weapon was intended to work like this, doing lots of damage, and Hammer is not good enough #5 is extremly useless in PVE and kinda meh in WvW/spvp because people can just dodge out of it.

Nothing is going to change to spirit weapons, the AI is just way too dumb. Anyway who cares because we are the all around class in the game.

We are like superman we do everything but we have one weakness : Kriptonite (ranged weapon)

I wanted to know if gold from monsters stacks for example :
-Omnomberry Bar +40%
-Superior Rune of the Scavenger +15%
-the new glided infusion that will give +20%
So, do I get 75% more gold from monsters or does it takes the highest value ? like the 40% of my Omnomberry bar ?

Only useful skill is Snow leopard for wvw, you can escape anything with #4 and #5 and is the only transformation who can move while attacking with #1

Snow Leopard is the only Racial skill that lets you go invisible ( pretty sure )

Knight + (anything) to be honest, but most likely with some vitality so you can reach a 14 000 – 16 000 Hp.

A more specific question : Can I do Dungeons or Fractals of the Mists Daylies on multiple characters ?

This thread needs more attention, has been 3 months since Anet answer something. Am not a coder or anything but I I think that making an option to disable it shouldn’t be that difficult.

Btw, the AoE stuff that puts you up in the air, is highly frustrating because you mostly die instantly and I find it really hard to dodge since it activates 1-2sec after appearing.

One player vs 10 shark would easily die to them, ANet think shark should be a support not a player killing machine, I guess.

Main class I would say : Mesmer, Guardian and maybe Warrior or Thief
The one I see the least : Elementalist, Engineer

Only reason why people don’t do wvw is plain obvious, you don’t get enough money out of it, loot are pretty terrible, puzzle jump are meh and the money form event is just a joke, barely a sliver sometimes

Close some server so we will get better population on the main server, lets say the truth, its not lunch anymore and we are probably losing player and player numbers will get ticker and ticker every month.

Flat out obvious, FA lost because of night hours, 3-4 hours ago we had a way better control of everything. I put my bet on TC this week, they have so much player at night its just ridiculous, pretty sure they still have a queue time at 1AM.

It should be account bound, Legendary should represent the player not the character, am working on a juggernaut and I wish I could give to my warrior or guardian.

Anyone said that Guardian get kited a lot ? I think they do. And warrior have a better ranged weapon I would say. ( played both profession )

I have to say that the #5 is actually really useless in PvE as well.

I can recommend something, try every weapons even if you already try them, when you get level 80 certain weapon might be better because you have access to build and such, like hammer winch is kinda underrated

I have tried the hammer in spvp and turn out kinda wired, Instead of taking hammer you should just take the signet of power, winch is the same idea of knock down but with a 900 or 1200 range i think

Even if Anet said theres no Trinity in the game, tank is actually viable and effective in dungeon, mostly in dungeon.

For wvw Staff Is better then specter in my opinion, staff is kinda fine, you pretty much spam 3 and 4 but its better then nothing

No race really support guardian to be honest. But the back story fit well with the Norn because they protect spirit and guardian protect stuff.

So yeah the most underpowered class in the game is the most popular and YOU notice that 70% of the commander are warrior ? Warrior is freaking versatile you can do everything : Venerability, Bleed, Cripple, Knock Down, Stun, 3 stack of constant of might to everyone around, AoE knock back. You have lots of weapons choice compare to ele or engineer with like 3-4 choice, You have 2 good viable range weapon (guardian ranged weapons are a joke not yours) you are the tank class in the game with 20k base hp level 80. The only thing you need is a short partial invincibility, oh wait you already have one.
