So now it’s down to Rev and Guardian…. Decisions….Decisions =(
Hey guys just wanna get the community feedback on which one of these 3 classes would you suggest for general PVE, Solo play and dungeons. what I’m looking for is being able to dish out great damage, have survivability and have a good fun gameplay.
Hello guys,
I just came back to the game after a long break and wanna start preparing for the expansion but can’t decide on which class I should choose to main, I narrowed it down to Guardian, Warrior and Ranger. My focus is mostly PVE and Dungeons, Raid.
Please help me out figure out which path I should take.
Hey guys, in your opinion which one of these 2 classes would be better for all-round toon to be used in general PVE and Dungeons as well as solo play? I’ll be focused mostly in Damage also.
Ok im a bit confused here, with the update that rolled out today regarding Personal Story chapters, I had the impression that I can go back and replay any of my personal story chapters again but it seems im not able to, did I read it correctly or am i missing something?
“As another addition with the level-up guide, we’re updating the personal story steps using our new Story Journal so they come in story chunks that unlock all at once per chapter. When a story chapter is unlocked as a level-up reward, you’ll be able to play straight through the entire chapter from start to finish and not have any awkward starts and stops that throw off the storyline. In this way, story chapters become another big moment to look forward to earning and unlocking as your character levels up.”
Here’s my Elementalist. Took a while to get her colours right.
Please enjoy.
Is that Human or Norn?
I’m still torn between the Guardian and Warrior. can folks who played them both extensively comment on their fun factor and general experience with both classes in PVE environment please
Bumping for reply!
Ok this is a bit off topic but I’m so torn between my Guardian and Warrior and even tho I played both till about 30ish I just can not decide whichone to focus on, I absolutely Love the animation of Guardian with GS and their whole blueish theme but I hate the fact their base health is so Low and I keep hearing that in endgame PVE and dungeons if you don’t play Guardian to their absolute full potential you gonna keep on dying and that’s not what I want and I know im not gonna be the best player around. on the other hand I like the durability that Warrior brings to the table while being able to do high damage but I hate their GS and Sword animation since my goal in this game is to get a Legendary GS. help me out here guys. If you were in my shoes what would you do?
Good morning guys, I’ve been playing GW2 since beta and strictly PVE, but few times in the past I tried playing WvW and I just felt LOST in full sense, I mean I was running around like a idiot for an hour clue less despite watching YouTube videos and trying to figure out what I should do. I see a lot of WvW threads and it’s taken very seriously so:
1- can you guys please explain the point of WvW especially for my newly created toon or should I just wait till I’m 80 and dive into it then
2- what’s the point of Roaming in WvW and what is your objective as a Roamer compared to I don’t know regular WvW???
3- while leveling again should I stick to PVE only or mix it with WvW??
hey guys, after a long break im back and just can’t make up my mind between Warrior and Guardian. both seem fun both fit my playstyle but I can’t invest the time to level and gear both due to real life and university. which one would be a safer/better and more fun in endgame PVE and Dungeons.? any help is appreciated.
Despite the fact that Guardian has lower health, can they build to be durable and also do decent damage in Dungeons and Open world PVE??
But in your experience would you say Guardian’s GS is all around better or Warrior’s GS? also same question applies to Sword and Shield as this is the main combination i’ll be using for my character.
Hey guys I just came back to the game after a break and wanna make a new character, for some reason I can not decide between Warrior and Guardian. I’ll be using Greatsword most of the time and after playing each Guardian’s GS feels smoother/more fun but on warrior i get to Dual Wield axes/swords, etc.. I can Have a rifle and Long bow but then when I switch to guardian I feel the Sword and shield feels really flashy and fun, the it comes to Health. on Warrior I have a more health. now I’ve been switching back and forth between these 2 classes and reading several topics in regards to both and still can’t decide which one to Main and stick with cuz i really don’t have time to put in alts. my main focus is PVE and maybe sometimes pvp on the side.
For some reason even with Healing Signet equipped my Warrior seems more squishy than my Guardian.
I decided to leave Ranger out for now, which now struck me into another dilemma, now I can’t decide between Guardian and Warrior which I wanna play both as melee, front of the line combat. again this is mostly PVE.
If you had to choose one as your main, whichone would u choose?
Still waiting on more opinion from folks who have both classes at high levels
Hey guys I need some help choosing a class and for the life of me I can’t decide and I feel I’m just wasting time here. I love Ranger, since I was a kid I loved archers and bows in general. I also like Warriors and played both classes to around 25 ish and still can’t decide. My main goal is PVE and I might do some WvW later on.
Iam talking about PvP and WvW.
pve is braindead enough as it is.
Why do you keep saying Iam in every post? it’s either I am or I’m…
I decided to go with Warrior, can you guys please help link me a good build for both Greatsword/rifle and axe/axe/longbow for leveling, also what gear and stats im looking to have while leveling and some tips to have maximum Survivability against 3-4 mobs is much appreciated.
Knights with cleric gear? Yuuuuck.
Full DPS all the way. Warrior damage in PvE is OP considering our health pool and heavy armour, we can mince up the targets before needing to heal/taking any hits.Dungeons are slightly different and advise you to stay out of AC until you’re level 80 and clad in exotics. I know it’s silly but even some parties of all 80’s have difficulty with this dungeon..
EDIT: Sorry I thought you meant explorable, I have no idea if Story Mode was altered but I don’t believe it was, just take at least one person who has finished it before and you should be okay (I’m about to log on for that matter if you’re interested.)
Just yea… Never put Healing Power or Condition Damage on a Warrior.
Warrior is useless in most guild bountys because the mobs NEVER STAND STILL.
I beg to differ for this guild bounty comment. Because I’m usually the one to survive and revive others during guild bounty event. As a warrior, you have a wide range of weapons at your disposal and you need to use this to your advantage. For guild bounty, or dungeons like fractals, just switch to rifle/bow and you can do great damage at range.
I know as a Warrior I can just go rifle/bow and dps from distance but is it possible and doable to melee dps in dungeons since thats what i like best?
So from what I gathered so far, for PVE, Dungeons, damage + Survivability, Warrior is a good choice, correct?
Can you please do me a favor and guide me on gear/strategies on Warrior, currently im around level 37 or so and when there are 3-4 mobs surrounding me, im pretty much dead meat. even my buddie who is a lvl 70 warrior having the same issue as me, he put on full knight and cleric gear but his damage is so low. if he put on full zerker gear he dies pretty quick with 3-4 mobs, and problem is you can only dodge 2 times and have to wait for the bar to fill up and most of the time i die before then.
Also in AC story mode I almost die instantly if I ever go melee, I dont have my guardian high enough to take him there but i have a feeling it will be the same situation.
everytime i get smashed in dungeon i feel that maybe i made a mistake and should have gone with guardian but as soon as i play guardian i miss all the cool weapons and abilities my warrior has, not to mention i always played Warrior class in all my games.
1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
Guardian is a good meat shield, warrior can be a good meat shield but is not exactly as good, in the end however your survivability depends more on your ability to dodge rather than armor or anything else.
2. Good Damage
Warriors are versatile and have some of the highest if not the highest damage int he game if spec correctly. Even with a tank build HB should be going above the 12k on low cool down, if spec and geared for damage this can go up to 40k+ damage. Warriors adapt well to multiple targets from range and melee while gurdians are good or decent damage dealers but as a defensive class don’t really shine as much, they are really great support though. Based on my experience as both they tend to be boring as hell after a while though, too simple imo.
3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
I done fractals and dungeons with both classes along with ranger and thief. Warriors all the way, I spec for dps with survivability and a spash of control, since I carry every weapon available to me in my bags “Exotics” I can adapt to any fight by switching weapons and a few traits. Thus making my warrior far more versatile.
4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.
Both do good in WvW, I prefer warrior over all for WvW as I do more Zerg control and have an easier time 1 v 1 vs most classes, on the other side my guardian is great for badge farming with my elite skills, spam 1 + click with dps book and you will see the bags covering the floor. Warrior however adapts well to defense with long bow, control with hammer + off mace, survival with shield and traveling with horn + sword so on it goes.

Hey guys, I have both Warrior and Guardian and like both of them but for the life of me can’t decide which one to go with as my main, here are my basic needs if helps advise me on which would be better for me:
1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
2. Good Damage
3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.
I’m leaning toward Warrior but more input is appriciated
Hey guys, I have this dilemma between Warrior and Ranger and can’t decide between them for the life of me. What I want is diversity, survivability, great damage and I’m mostly concerned in PVE and Dungeons. Please share your experience and help with this, I thank you in advance.
For some reason even tho Im wearing Knight’s Armor and have full defense build, I still get squashed when in AC ( Story Mode ) or even when questing and there are more than 3 mobs on me. this is another reason I’m burned out on Warrior.
Good morning GW2 community
I currently have a Warrior at 69 and a Guardian at 22, for some reason I completely got tired and bored of my Warrior around 60s and started the Guardian, even tho some say Guardian do less damage and are mostly support toon, I much prefer Guardian’s GS over Warrior’s GS, but then when it comes to ranged attack I see the Guardian Lacking, so now I’m in a dilemma, I can’t choose a toon as my main to stick to it and leve it to max.
what’s your opinion/suggestion on this?
Hi GW Community, I’ve been playing as a Warrior for my main character and now im lvl 65 and like the class so far but I have a lot of problem surviving 3-4 regular mobs at my lvl when questing, im using a shout build i’ve found from the forums and using a GS with Long Bow, along with Gladiator armor which is power/crit, im not sure if its due to my gear or something else but my health quickly drains and shouts barely do any healing at all.
As a former WOW player for past 5 years I can honestly say Mad King Thorn has much much more interesting character and lore and to me he is just so much cooler.
I just wanted to Thank you Anet for such an amazing game and best Holiday experience I had in all the MMOs I have played to this day. I personally will be a long time supporter of Guild Wars 2 for as long as the game is around.
Yes it’s bugged, Anet, please fix this as it’s the lat one I need.
