This kind of spam really serves no purpose other than drawing attention to yourself. If however you wanted it spammed if someone is the very first person to ever get that achievement in GW2, then I could live with that, but not every time someone achieves something.

I agree with the OP. Dailys, monthlys etc should be based on basic areas, not specialized areas such as wvw or dungeons. Make separate monthlys for those activities.

To me a dedicated player is one who plays the game as it was intended, by not using bots, cheats, buying gold or power leveling services, and by treating other players with respect. A dedicated player also sticks it out and gives ArenaNet a chance to fine tune this still new game before calling it quits if they aren’t 100% happy with the way things are going. Dedication is not based on how many hours you play, but rather on how you conduct yourself when you do.

I totally agree with your post. Every game I’ve ever played has dressed the women up like harlots. I don’t want to be viewed as cheap in a game… I want to be viewed as strong and tough, and yes sexy, and dressed appropriately for the part.

Also, have you ever noticed when you are talking to Queen Jennah in a cut scene that her triple D’s are almost falling out of her dress. Really Anet?

I group all the time, just not in official parties. If I see a group clearing an area I need, etc., I just run up and jump into the group, then leave when I am done. Nice and clean this way with no awkward breaking away from the party.

And I find that it’s much faster to level on my own than with someone else. I have my own way of doing things that is fast and efficient and I get irritated if I have to wait around for someone else.

I agree with this mainly because wvwvw isn’t really part of the map. You can’t walk to it like you can every other place on the pve map. You teleport into it and who knows where it is actually located.

Why can’t we have a main world completion, a wvwvw completion, and those who have done both get a both worlds completion achievement and reward?

Are you serious? That pet name is pretty disgusting and has no place in a game. It is also against the naming policy. (We do not permit names that: Reference sexual acts or real life violence.) I would love to see a feature to report the immature players who would do something like that.

I find this proposition amusing on many levels, but mainly because it does hit a chord with me. I personally can’t stand Logan Thackery. I find his constant doting over Queen Jennah and his cry baby attitude more than a little irritating. And the fact that he looks just like Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai only hurts his image.

I’ve never understood why some people get offended if someone else likes to play solo in a game, then tries to justify their view by saying “It’s a multiplayer game, if you want to play solo blah blah etc.” Well one thing you need to consider is that the term MMORPG stands for "Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game ". It does not stand for “Massively Multiplayer Online Group Up for Everything Game”. People should be able to play this game anyway they please, and there should be options available for different styles of play.

I really wish this were true. I love the social aspect of games, but have had a very hard time finding much social interaction here. I joined a few different guilds and it was always like a ghost town with no one talking or doing things as a group. I finally found one small guild that did chat and group up some, but one of the leaders was unbearable to be around and I had to just get out.

I would love if they changed the guild system so you could only be in one guild, instead of finding myself in a guild where I am the only one representing at the time. Until they fix this I would love to have solo dungeon options, just so I can actually experience these places.

I absolutely love the account bank! It is so nice to have all my stored items available to all of my characters, especially the crafting items in the collections. I have bought extra bank slots twice now and I have plenty of space for the things I am saving, since the items I save most are in collections and don’t use a regular bank slot.

I have to disagree with alot of these posts simply because you people have never played other mmos other then gws1. let me tell you i played and still play wow for 8 years and since wows release in 2004 its hard for other mmos to get noticed or attract gamers i mean you either get one niche of players who like pvp,raids or regular pve. Also if you want true gear grind go play wow and come back and tell me whats worse gws2 or wow’s furthermore most mmos now a days have to compete with blizzard’s success and im happy to see anet try to do that with rng gear. i mean sure its not for everyones taste and if you dont like go back to playing gws1 or cyrptic studios new mmo coming out neverwinter. i hate when others disown a game just because there trying to compete in this world of gaming wow has molded with there whole concept of end game gear most mmo’s don’t live long because wow crushes them or people are disappointed with how it turned out. You are just trolling now. I never played GW1 but have played several other mmos. Ultima Online, Asheron’s Call, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Rift, Lord of the Rings Online, and now GW2. I always had something to do in these games and I loved dungeon crawling. I think the biggest disappointment to me here are the dungeons, and if they fixed these I would be more likely to play more again.

1. Who here, still come to forums but play the game much less? I do find that I check the forums a lot more as I play less.

2. When did you start playing less? I started playing less after I almost completed the world on my thief. (I’m at 95% and am slowly getting the rest in wvw.)

3. Why / What caused the decline in time spent? I find I play less because I don’t have anything to do. I have spent most of my game time guildless because I join a guild then no one ever says anything, or does anything as a group. I blame that on the way the guild system is set up and found I was the only one representing half the time, thus the ghost town feel. I hate the dungeons. I have always loved dungeons in other games, and would spend a lot of time running them, but the dungeons here are so difficult that it takes away any chance of having fun. I just don’t think it’s a good time when you are dying to the first trash mobs repeatedly in the level 30 instance. It really turns me off to even try another dungeon. I do enjoy wvw but I don’t want to spend my entire game time doing that. So I need a reason to keep playing my character after I hit 80, and I’m not finding it.

I would love to have a dungeon finder. I am currently not in a guild, and the ones I tried I ended up leaving because no one ever said a word. So that didn’t help me find dungeon groups. I don’t really care if there is minimal conversation in a pug, either. In fact I prefer it that way because it makes the run go a lot faster. And I don’t really want to spend my game time standing around for an hour trying to find a group.

Bvhjdbvkjf.1987, I don’t moan when I have a headache, but if I did it would be from the physical pain of the headache, not mental stress, so I don’t really understand your reasoning here. Regardless, we mostly agree that casting a spell isn’t physical stress, so grunting when I heal myself is what is silly here. These grunts are nothing more than noise pollution that I am really getting tired of hearing when I play.

Also, I didn’t ask them to eliminate it. I asked them to to make it more proportionate to the activity that is being done at the time, as stated in my original post.

Even if magic is strenuous, grunting is a sound that indicates you are under great physical stress. Magic isn’t physical.

I can see why a tennis player would grunt because they are putting some force behind their swing. But all I’m doing is waving my scepter gently in the air! The grunts have gotten pretty annoying now.

I find it odd that my Mesmer grunts with almost every spell she casts. I can understand if I grunt when I am lifting or tossing a boulder, or some other physically demanding activity. But just waving my scepter around shouldn’t be strenuous enough to make me grunt like I am giving birth. Even my heal does this! Can you please tone down the grunting to make it more proportionate to the activity that is being done at the time?

I agree with this suggestion 100%! It is very frustrating having to filter through two armor types you can’t use to find the one you can. Also please consider letting us preview items for sale too.

Shadowlancer.7102 I am not sure why you keep arguing against this. Adding “harassment” or “inappropriate behavior” along with a box to explain the behavior would go a long way to reducing the “jerks” who ARE harassing others. Whether we believe a certain activity is harassment or not isn’t really a factor here because it will be up to ArenaNet to make that determination after they review the report. I also believe that if we do deal with the “jerks” that we have no means to deal with now, it will be a great deterrent for them to stop their behavior in the future, and make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

I do agree, however, that the block feature should block everything, including taking your name off the offending party’s friends list.

I have had 2 people from another server, who I have never met, add me to their friends list at the urging of one of their friends for the sole purpose of trying to irritate me. The reason they did this was because I had switched servers and messaged my followers from the old server as a courtesy to let them know I had moved. For some reason this guy decided he would keep me on his friends list to “irritate me” (his words), but didn’t stop there and got his 2 of his friends to add me too. I would like to report these guys but there is no way for me to do this in game with the way things are currently set up. If there was a harassment choice I could get this taken care of, but since the current system goes on chat logs only I am in risk of being suspended myself trying to report the real perpetrators.

I would also love to see a harassment choice to the reporting system, along with a box to add a comment about what the harassing behaviour was. The way the system is now (based on chat logs only) doesn’t allow for reporting behaviours that may not show in a chat log. I would also like it to remove your name from someone’s friends list if you block them, and keep them from adding you again as long as they are blocked. This will keep them from still being able to keep track of you.

I received 2 infractions over 8 days ago and felt both were completely unjustified. I sent emails about each to forums@arena.net but have yet to receive a response. How can I find out if these infractions have been removed? Also, is there a place we can actually look at on our accounts and see how many infractions we have at any given time? Thanks!

The response time for your ticket isn’t going to be instantaneous in light of how many tickets they receive. If those who were legitimately suspended stopped submitting tickets falsely declaring their innocence then the wait for those who really are innocent would probably be much shorter.

In other games I have noticed that if someone deletes a character, transfers to another server, etc., their name shows up as “Unknown User” or something similar in the guild logs. But here it shows your account name as well as your character name, and these names don’t change if you just change servers. So it sounds like this person may have deleted the entire account. Isn’t there a way ArenaNet can look at the logs and determine who “Unknown User” was?

If you read the Terms of Agreement you will see that they have the right to make changes at their discretion.

Also, there is no way the developers could look at every single account and coordinate this change to coincide with everyone’s server transfer cooldown. Especially when so many users are changing servers on a daily basis.

I think being able to transfer once a week is very generous. Add to that the fact that the transfer is instant and doesn’t cost anything and I don’t know why anyone would complain about this! Most other games charge you to do transfers and have a much longer waiting period.

The cooldown for server transfers is one week instead if 24 hours now.

If I am at home and using our wifi I can log onto the forums quite fine on my smartphone. But if I try to log in anywhere else, using the 4g instead of my home wifi it makes me authenticate. The problem is even if I go to the website emailed to me and approve it, it still doesn’t work. I would like to be able to log in and read the forums on my phone sometimes when I am not at home. Is there anyway for me to set this up? If I used the authenticator app instead would that work? Thanks!

This thread is the first one I ever posted on these forums, so no I didn’t offend people here. And I have blocked everyone I don’t know who is a follower. But why should I have to? If I can block them, why can’t I just remove them from having access? Why should total strangers get to know everything I am doing while I’m in game? Also, I am not sure blocking someone does keep them from still seeing when I am online, what character I am on, etc. because I can see when everyone I have blocked is online etc.

I thought I was doing these people a courtesy letting them know I had left the server where they had added me as a friend. I certainly didn’t expect the rudeness I encountered with this one person in particular, and I shouldn’t have to put up with it.

It would be nice to know when the last day and time is so I can get all the achievements completed before it’s over. I can’t seem to find this information posted anywhere. Thanks.

The thing is… I don’t know a single one of these people and have never spoken to any of them. The whole thing is just creepy.

I am sorry but I don’t take being stalked as a compliment. I guess the concept of privacy is lost on you.

Bottom line, I don’t like being stalked by people I don’t know, especially if they aren’t even on the same server any more! I should have a right to say “No, I do not wish for you to know everything about my account, how many characters I have, what their names are, and when and where I am playing.” Even Facebook with all it’s ridiculousness gives you the ability to keep people you don’t know from friending you.

As I mentioned in my original post, I do not even know who these people are so we obviously aren’t carrying on a friendship. And the fact that one of these people replied “who the h*** are you” when I informed him I had switched servers, and now refuses to remove me from his “friends” list because he wants to “continue to irritate” me speaks volumes about how easy this current system is to abuse. Now others are adding me, people I have never even seen, and I am sure they were put up to it by him. You really think this is ok?

I totally agree with this idea. But I would go so far as to suggest that you also do away with Story Mode. The longer the game is active the lower your chance of finding a group who want to do a prerequisite dungeon mode.

I have followers from when I was on a different server, and to be honest I don’t even know who any of them are. So this afternoon I sent them all emails telling them that I had switched servers and they could remove me from their friends list. Only one person replied and now he is basically harassing me. He told me he will never remove me now just so it will irritate me. This happened a few minutes ago and already I have more followers showing up, and I don’t know who any of them are. I suspect he is behind this.

I think it would be reasonable to require permission of the player for anyone to be able to keep them on their friends list and basically be able to stalk everything they do on every character they have. Please consider this.

EDIT: I would like to alter to my suggestion to say that if you block someone it should automatically remove your name from their friends list, and they should no longer have information regarding your account. This is the only way to truly block another player.
