It would be more than great if you allowed lucky owners of the best shield in game – Guild Defender – to disable guild emblems on it if they wanted to. I just dont like red quaggan on this awesome, shiny piece of equipment I am very proud of
Agreed. Whole t3 human heavy armor needs some improvements.
Starting from tabard as you mention. Both background and pattern should be dyed separately, and both should dye in the very same way, so you can make the tabard plain <any color> So far its only possible if you dye it green. Thats how I wear it.

Furthermore They could improve leg armor. Those plates protecting ur thighs should stick to your legs (as it was in concept art), and not to the sides as it is now. Also they could try to straighten textures on the legs are they are a bit distorted
Furthermore boots (feet to be precise) could be bit bigger, as right know they are bit too small
P.S.
How to post pictures?
The only legendaries I like are probably the shield, greatswords, rifle and staff.
As stated in the title,
It would be awesome to have jetpacks as cosmetic back pieces. it would be even cooler if it allowed you to fly instead of walk for a limited time (slightly above earth, so its not abused in jumping puzzle for example). Of course it shouldnt give any speed boost.
Something tells me people would gladly pay money for something like this.
Logic says:
Overflow problems appeared only few days ago. not directly after guesting has been introduced.
What’s the conclusion then? It’s not about guesting. Anet has probably decreased map capacity to get rid of lags.I am pretty certain this is the case; however, they should do some more testing on the capacity. I rarely get lag on events like shadow behemoth and fire elemental but ALWAYS get lag on the dragon events. However, I still get booted into the overflow for shadow behemoth and fire elemental which makes me assume that the map capacity for all areas are probably the same. They should adjust the map capacity according to that specific map’s player capacity and not the average capacity.
They should also learn how to solve problems and not choose the easy way all the time. The world events weren’t lagging at all before the patch. They had to mess something up.I hope they figure it out and revert the changes, because landing on overflow all the time is just annoying. Having to reserve a spot way ahead of event is ridiculous.
Logic says:

My dear Anet.
wth is with all those overflows? Did you decrease maximum number of players on every map just to get rid of lags?
Whenever i do a world boss event there are suspiciously few people around compared to what was before.
It kitten es me off. Just logged in, wanted to get the behemoth event done and I can’t get to my home server :S I’m seriously upset.
If it turns out to be yet another “genius” idea of yours then I’ll be even more upset.
Recantly whenever u mess with something it only gets worse :S
If it’s because of guesting, then it needs adressing too. Assuming that is the case, it’s ridiculous that i can’t get to my home server because of bunch of guests. This however seems quite unlikely as there has never been so many overflow issues. It all started few days ago.
Customizable dodge animation. That’s a bloody good idea. heh. +1 to you up there.
I think you should be able to block with your shield or parry with weapon, and not just dodge.
It looks somewhat ridiculous when heavy armored warrior rolls out of the way like stupid.
Caithe is a lesbian.
That was the joke.
That is NOT a joke.
She really is lesbian.
Or at least she had a relationship with another female sylvari.
I still suspect that the pale tree sent Trahearne away to this Orr task because she finds him annoying too.
Well, he was in Orr for a long time before showing back up at the Grove, I think. If she got tired of it, it’s more along this:
“Look, you moved out and then you moved back in. You’re a grown twig now, I don’t have to house you anymore. Look, there’s that lovely Caithe person, she gets out now and then, why don’t you . . . no? Oh, well look, I don’t care where you go but you really can’t stay here any longer. I’m going to show you this vision to try to motivate you to get your leafy butt up off my couch and out there doing something.”
Caithe is a lesbian.
Before you read any further, I’d like to inform you that this thread may contain spoilers. So if you havent finished your story yet, you might want to stop reading.
Also, I would like to point out that anything stated below is just my opinion. You are welcome to disagree.
I play since very first beta weekend and I haven’t finished personal story until now.
I started it, but it was rather dull at the beginning ( I played as human, tried all 3 of the options during betas) and so I just focused on the rest of the content instead. Eventually though I decided it’s a good idea to get rid of that quest log from my screen once and for all (which is the best reward for completing the storyline).
So, what was wrong about it?
1. Boring, poorly written characters.
Thats a general rule. The only exception I can think of is probably warmaster Forgal Kernsson. But he dies after few short missions and instead gets “replaced” by one of the most boring characters in any game I’ve played: Trahearne.
There were few more character’s that had their moments, but they would quickly disappear from the story completely (Countess Anise for example).
On top of that there are also character’s like priestess of grenth (not sure if she had any specific name) who make sure you do not get too immersed.
2. Too much ridiculous pathos.
In quite a few missions (especially on Orr) some of the character’s would sacrifice themselves to save others. The only thing is you don’t care about them. The only thing that distinguishes them from other npcs is name. But that’s it. They never even say anything significant. There was one character from Queensdale who joined the campagin in Orr. He laid down his life to protect some female npc (you could assume he loved her) who then acted as if she was happy that he died (and started talking about his dog). It’s just ridiculous.
3. useless rewards.
I can’t think of any decent reward (except for pact weapon at the very end and maybe also for claymore and human t3 racial weapons, providing you like those skins).
At the very end you also get 3 rare boxes. I was hopinh they contain some exotics perhaps, or rares at least. Nope. Got some useless greens not for my profession.
4. Poorly designed missions
Main objectives of the missions had similar scheme: go there, and kill few waves of weak enemies, lsiten to boring dialogue and you are done. I wouldn’t mind if those missions were at least challenging, like in Guild Wars 1.
5. Worst of all end game bosses: Zhaitan
The whole arah mission is one big let down.
Ground combat wasn’t too bad, but once you got on the airship, lamefest begins.
The only thing that saves the whole mission is music.
It’s ridiculous when you have to wait for like 2 minutes before new wave of enemies (or a dragon) tries to stop you.
You’d think that it can’t get any worse.
And here comes Zhaitan! At first he just flies around and pose no threat whatsoever. You don’t even get to shoot his tail off! And when you finally get to finish him off, he sits on some tower, alone and defensless. And you spam attack over and over again, until his hp bar reaches 0. Even risen quaggans are more dangerous!
All of that comes as a surprise, since story told in the dungeons is pretty good (except for mentioned Arah).
What are your impression on the storyline?
(edited by Smelly Bookah.6957)
Please make miniatures from Orrian jewelery boxes non-account bound. I just got mini priest of balthazar and i dont like it, but it’s account bound so there is no way of exchanging or selling it.
It is ridiculous how many account bound stuff there is in game. it’s an mmo! Pretty much everything should be tradeable. Obsidian shards too.
Id much appreciate if there were non-glowing versions of ascalonian weapons available from Ascalonian Catacombs. I like the longbow for example, however I hate that it glows in the night. Same goes for other weapons. I just don’t like such gimmicks.
Thats why it would be awesome if you introduced non glowing weapons for those who don’t like such effects. That way everyone would be happy
There is no such thing as player or account specific random loot rolls/odds. It’s the same for everyone, only magic find can alter your chances.
Thanks for the comment. It helps diffuse the conspiracy theorists. It is correct to say that there is no account specific information that is used as a seed in the random number generator?
That’s the only way that I could see any difference in drops for accounts.
That is correct yes, there is absolutely no account or character specific data used in loot rolls what so ever, can debunk that theory. The only thing you can do to alter a specific characters chances is magic find which is a stat visible on your character from gear/food, for loot drops specifically.
That being said, we’re trying to offset some of that random chance by implementing systems like our new laurel system (and other additions down the road) to help give players more opportunities to earn specific rewards as well over time. This gives the capacity for those exciting “jackpot” moments of getting a big reward, while also helping provide a more clear long term timeline when you can earn the same reward for those who don’t hit the moment-to-moment jackpot since for those who are extremely unlucky, it can be very frustrating.
Still, some people seem to be cursed by fate :P
For example I was playing Guild Wars 1 for well over 4 years, I got 50/50 in HoM, GWAMM and yet I never really dropped anything valuable. I’ve only looted like 3 or 4 black dyes and 0 runes of superior vigor
Agreed. It’s funny because guild wars 1 was hell of alot more social. Yet it was instanced. I’ve made plenty of good friends in gw1 and here my friend list is empty.
You have loads of options that were intended to encourage socialization, but it actually works in a completely different way. In traditional mmo people would at least notice you (it would probably lead to them being kitten off) and here they don’t pay attention to you since there are no such problems as resource or mob stealing.
Even instances do not bring people together. You find a team, finish the run and everyone leaves. It’s just sad.
I am afraid things are not going to get any better.
I bought GW2 because I am, or rather was a Guild Wars 1 player.
To be perfectly honest, I had high hopes for this game, especially after they said it will be guild wars 1 with open world. I expected to see greatly improved mechanics from gw1. But did they manage to deliver? Umm, nopes, not really. I might say I am slightly disappointed with the game. By no means it can be called bad, it’s actually very good, especially compared to other titles on the market. But the thing is it misses alot of features from GW1, features that made the previous game so great and enjoyable. And if those features are there, then they are simply nerfed. Like guesting for example. In gw1 you could play with everyone around the globe, and here you are stuck with european or US playerbase.
Moreover, the game seems less social than it’s predecessor. it’s funny since gw2 has many solutions that should make it perfect for player interactions. What happened though is that everyone pretty much treats you like a bot.
My friend’s list in GW1 was full (and i really made so good friends) and here it’s pretty much empty.
Anyways, enough of complaining. The game is good, but I strongly hope it will get better with future expansions and that Guild Wars 1 players eventually get what they expected.
I was wondering if there is any way to get t3 racial weapons (or different weapon with same skin) rather than buy them for karma?
I wanted to get myself a seraph rifle, however 63k karma is bit to steep.
I like color scheme more than on golden rifle though.
If anyone knows a way to get those weapons other than through weapon vendor, than I would be very grateful if you could share it with me.
I am not a PvP kinda guy, but I love exploring WvWvW. It’s the best part of exploratio when you have to sneak around map, trying to avoid enemy players. I just love it.
You guys who want it to be excluded from 100% should probably be more patient. It’s easy to explore wvwvw. At least borderlands, since every single week your server gets different home map. You just have to wait for rotation.
I strongly suggest to remove dungeon reward restrictions.
You should get full reward for every single path completed, regardless how many times you repeat it during the same day. Just because you do certain path the second time, it does not become any easier than it was for the first time.
With fractals around it’s very hard to find a team of players for regular dungeons. And if that wasn’t enough, you also need to find people who hasn’t finished the path you want to do. That is just ridiculous.
If you don’t want people to grind the dungeons for some reason, then at least make it so you can get full reward three times a day, regardless of which path you finish. That way it won’t be so much of a pain to find a party (however punishing people for playing as much as they want is a failed design to begin with).
Please do not bring up gw2 lfg site, that argument is invalid. Game should be designed in such a way that you are not forced to use 3rd parties sites in order to be able to play.
Patience my young padawan.
ANet hasn’t fully implemented the system yet. Don’t worry, there will be multiple ways. Just give them more time. They needed 5 months to implement guesting. So I guess with ascended stuff it might take them like a light year
I’ve already posted a topic on whole transmutation system, however it seems like people aren’t very interested in this kind of stuff.
As of now I can say transmutation system is terrible as it punishes you for transmuting stuff (since there is no sense of progression and you only loose cash and items).
This is how transmutation system could look like:
You have cosmetic armor slot (just like town clothing now). You use transmutation stones to copy the appearance of an item into such cosmetic slot. This does not destroy the item, appearance of which you copy. There should be several panels for cosmetic armor, allowing you to have multiple outfits you can switch between. Cosmetic armor could be overwritten. That way Anet could still make monies on transmutation stones. I would even start to buy them from the item shop!
Guesting with it’s restrictions is terrible. I hate the fact that you can’t guest on servers that use different data centers. You should try to figure out a way to allow it.
Also guesting on just 2 servers per 24 hours is pathetic. You could try to figure some other way to prevent potential exploits.
NO
Raising level cap would probably create alot of mess. I’d much rather see progression expressed in items, skills and achievements (however not necessarily in stats). Also I hate content gating. I am Guild Wars 1 player and I got used to the idea that once you hit certain level, the whole world is open for you, however certain areas are harder than others. I think ANet should stick to it as it would certainly make Guild Wars 2 stand out even more. Adding few more levels isn’t very satisfying for hardcore players, since they usually get them in no time. On the other hand we have people who don’t fancy leveling (like myself) and for them it’s just a dull chore they have to do in order to enjoy what they like. Moreover it makes lower level zones empty since people get the feeling that they have beaten that part of the content and now the only viable maps are the newly added ones. That could not be the case with Guild Wars 2, however downscaling doesn’t work very well. Also, what’s the point of leveling up if you are downscaled anyways? It misses the point if you ask me. I know those 60 more levels (compared to GW1) has been added to satisfy most of mmo players, who are used to leveling up, however now it’s the time to reconsider that policy in my humble opinion.
(edited by Smelly Bookah.6957)
It’s been 5 months since the game has been released.
New expansion is proably just around the corner and so I think it’s a good idea to let ANet know what we want and what we don’t want to see in it.
So here is the question I would like to ask:
WOULD YOU LIKE LEVEL CAP TO BE RAISED (with the new expansion of course)? Or would you prefer it to stay as it is right now?
Please answer YES or NO (preferably in caps) and if you want to add justification (which is highly desired)
just make sure to leave 1 line space in between (to make it as clear as possible).
If anyone know if it’s possible to add a poll on those forums, I’d be much grateful for such information.
(edited by Smelly Bookah.6957)
Speak for yourself
You don’t have to level fast if you don’t want to. Also this game isn;t really about levels. In Guild Wars 1 max lvl you could achieve was 20 and noone really complained. I actually liked it alot since after achieving it the whole world was rpetty much open for you.
I agree some of the elite skills have pretty big cooldowns, but its mostly the race elites, which are supposed to be worse then class elites by design.
and this game has some of the shortest CDs for a MMO. WoW had 30 minute cooldowns and I heard FF11 had 2 hour cooldowns.
And in Guild Wars 1 I had a build where 7 out of 8 skills had cooldown times below 8 seconds each. Only the 8th one had 30 second cooldown, but that was an elite skill and it was a buff, that could be repeatedly renewed if your strength attribute (that would govern the buff time) was high enough. So your argument isn’t a very good one if you ask me.
What you have to keep in mind is the fact that in Guild Wars you have only 10 skills a your disposal (not counting weapon swap, etc). And the combat is supposed to be active. In wow skills might have long cds since you have loads of other ones.
Ok so ive been playing this game for a while now and the thing that bothers me the most personally is the cooldowns. Out of all the MMOs ive played this game has the longest cooldowns ive ever seen.
Its kinda ridiculous that i waited so long from guild wars to play a norn and transform into a bear to not only find the cooldown is 240 seconds. but the skill itself only last for 30 seconds which isent even enough time to read the skill descriptions. Im not saying decrease all the cooldowns. but atleast decrease the elite skills enough to make them usable.
Also i have to mention, theifs stealth is only 3 seconds…..dude you might as well remove it from the game cause thats not even enough time to move 10 feet from the giant enemy thats kitten you. “Most Useless Stealth in gaming history”
I like to add a positive to every critisism so; the steal skill is just amazing and unique, i love it.
keep up the good work.
With thief it’s a bit controversial story. I find their stealth annoying. In WvWvW one of the thieves I’ve been fighting would disappear all the time. That was downright frustrating. As for elite skills I don;t like them at all. i prefered the way they worked in Guild Wars 1, where some of them weren’t necessarily the most powerful, however they were useful. Also players should not be forced to use elite skill. I think the last slot should be made yet another utility, where you could optionally put an elite skill if you so desired.
@Salem ANet stated that (at least part of) the point behind the new setup for dailies was to get the player who is (lets say farming Orr) out and about to different areas of the game. In that case, yes, it’s easier to complete some of these in different areas, so that goal would be a success.
I mean, these are just dailies. It’s not like it’s a required thing in any way. I’ve been playing since it came out, and I’ve probably done less than 100 dailies. I’m not any worse for wear because of it. Beyond that, they seem to have made ALL the required things actually take less required actions of that sort to do it then they did before (at least that’s how it felt to me). Having to dodge 15 attacks to finish that and farm 4 or 5 trees to be finished with that? Feels much less intrusive than kill 15 different type of animals IMO.
Don’t get me wrong however, I’m anxiously awaiting till I only have to do 3 of the 5 or 6 things listed, because I’m a lazy person.
You are right, you don;t have to finish them, however now that they give karma and laurels I wouldn’t look on it this way.
I am not sure what the hell you were thinking ANet, but with these new requirements, you are forced to dodge (the reward should be the dodge itself, not a daily cookiee), and you are forced to watch people die around you so you can revive them.
I don’t play a lot with other people, and the few I do play with simply don’t die that often (not even against champions).
Why was this changed in the first place? It was tricky to get the right kill variety and events, and usually took 2 hours unless you were intent on completing it fast. Now, for me, and players like me, it’s essentially impossible.
Why are daily achievements suddenly dependant on other players? I don’t want to be forced to revive others for my gain, and as a cc-focused engineer, I often don’t even HAVE to dodge, or I use the dodge to gain range, which doesn’t result in an “Evade!” popup.
Seriously. Why?
Go to low lvl zone, lure bunch of mobs and start dodging. It’s that simple. As for revives, go to queensdale, to the swamp. There are durmand priory scholars wandering around, which constantly get killed by mobs.
At first when i saw new dailies I was like: WTF?!
But then I noticed it’s not very hard to complete them.
The real problem are monthly. Some of the requirements are too steep (like the one wth jumping puzzle). I just remade my main toon and cannot finish monthly cause of that, since so far I am only lvl 25.
No and once again no to all of the suggestions put forward by OP.
Unless you allow people who play on only 1 character to complete dailies multiple times every single day. That however would be ridiculous, wouldn’t it?
One thing I would like to support is to make Laurels account bound.
Generally there are waaaaayyy too many soulbound items in the game. That number should be reduced significantly if you ask me.
You should work on event upscaling, since right now mobs just get massacred if there are quite a few players around. Sometimes it’s just hard to even hit a mob, because they go down in matter of seconds. Due to that events end in a minute or so. It’s not fun when someone kindly tells you that an event just started if it is pretty much over when you finally manage to arrive.
I’d like to suggest to add some veterans perhaps, or enlarge attacking groups, increase their hp or something.
Also level downscaling doesn’t work very well. When you go to low lvl zones there is literary no challenge at all, unless you encounter some champion level mobs. That’s why I think you should work on that too. And if you do that, don;t forget to improve loot to preserve the balance between difficulty and income. Make all zones viable for farmers, not only Orr, which I personally hate.
ArenaNet announced weeks ahead of time that with the new guesting feature, you should immediatly look for a home server BEFORE the change to prevent this. Now if they are in europe and American servers, thats not Anet’s fault, that is between you and your friends not communicating to stay on the same region when playing this game. Sorry but I like the new guesting system, it still lets you play with others but prevents the loyalty dissapointment we get from WvW (people joining the winning team because they’d rather not help their own server win).
With WvWvW it’s fine. it was supposed to be like that even before the game even came out. Guesting was supposed to be about PvE only.
Having said that, let’s move to another issue you mentioned.
Can you imagine that one of his friends might be from USA and the other from Europe? That’s why they play in different regions. It’s ANet’s fault that they won;t be able to play together anymore.
Stay away from my belvoed warriors!
As for balance issues with this class, I think they should increase longbow range from 900 to 1200 and rewrite one of the traits that does it (since its kinda waste of a trait. That 300 range isn’t worth it, yet in some situations it could be useful).
I would really like to see some sort of weapon skin along the lines of a slim rapier or even a light cavalry saber. Something to pair with a small build characters. I’m using the Krytan sword right now. Even its just a bit too large. But its the best I can find…unless I’m missing something?
I would also love to see some normal greatswords. Most of them out there are ridiculously big. The best I could find so far was ebonblade. i wish there were more of such swords in game.
I would hate to see race restrictions though. I think that each major city should have a housing district, where you could buy yourself a neat little house. Without any restrictions. As a human for example you should be able to settle in Rata Sum if you wish so.
Player housing however would require alot of work. Not sure if ANet can handle it any time soon.
I wish it could be implemented though, and that it could be as good as player housing in Star Wars Galaxies (where every single item in the game had a 3d model and you coul drop it anywhere on the ground in your house. That was truly epic).
Your idea is good, and I would like to see it in game. They could make some major tavern. In every single town. However there should also be some incentive for players to go there. Personally Im rather disappointed with current state of the game. Before launch I was rpetty excited seeing all those fancy concept arts with taverns, etc. Also bar brawl was promising. Now I am not even sure if its implemented into the game. Some npcs shout about it in Divinity’s Reach, but I couldn’t find much more, really.
(edited by Smelly Bookah.6957)
Im for removing this stat from the game completely. There is food that increases MF. And it doesn’t affect other people.
I don’t want to run the dungs with people who are leeching. If they want loot, they can go and farm t on their own. I don’t like when my time is wasted by other people.
Umm I played Guild Wars when it started up to about 2 years ago, I understand how guesting worked in that game, please do not assume I have not. Also just cause you don’t understand or like it doesn’t mean it is not in there for a good reason. Also take into consideration there is a lot of difference between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, pretty much the only similarity is land marks and Game title.
Who knows once things kick off they may change the restrictions as time goes, I would rather have heavy restrictions and avoid major problems then lose restrictions and a lot of problems. Also note that when things start off whimsical and get tougher people complain, when they start of rough and get easier more people are happy, even though people ( like your self ) still complain.
Ye? Then you obviously have little idea how this game has been advertised to Guild Wars 1 players. Go watch ANet manifesto if you want to find out. Read their blog.
Little criticism is never bad. We had to wait 5 long months for guesting feature which has been announced long before launch, and this is what we get. It shouldn’t be this way. All in all this is Guild Wars and some of the key elements should be preserved.
At first we had inconvenience of not having this feature at all and now that it’s introduced it has some ridiculous restrictions. It’s just pathetic if you ask me. I know for certain there are better ways to prevent potential exploits.
Also please stop posting useless comments (not the one I quote, but the next one).
achtung, achtung.
anet officially stated that this feature, along with some other improvements (e.g. enhanced filters) will be introduced soon. probably in february update. you don’t have to post your thoughts here, as the problem already received anet’s attention.
(edited by Moderator)
I know you want to make light, medium and heavy armor each feel unique but come on, you could give us something more then kitten/kitten items or some overdoing it, spikes and skulls wanna be kitten gear…
Overdoing you say? Well I have a feeling ANet has a tendency for overdoing stuff recantly. It applies to many, many things in GW2: armors, weapons, and other pieces of equipment.
Also some of the characters look t least tacky. Take Mad King Thorn for example. He looks terrible and flashy like a christmas tree. Seriously, in Guild Wars 1 he was looking ALOT better.
ANET please be more reasonable while designing stuff.. Thanks in advance.
I found Ascalonian ruins to be quite dull. I was expecting something bigger, more majestic. Unfortunately ANet failed to deliver.
Anyways, your idea is great.
The whole world in general could use some more fancy features as in many places it’s just dead.
been trying to find some decent guild for a pretty long time with very miserable effect. Many guilds had gazzilions of members yet barely anyone was representing them.
Multiple guilds seems like failed idea to me.
I understand why ANet decided to include it, but it apparently doesn’t work all that well. It just creates ghost guilds. I’d gladly see this feature removed once and for all.
I am well aware that there are quite a few concerns with guesting, and that is why Anet decided to put so severe limitations. But I am pretty sure the problem could be solved in different manner too. It would jsut require some more work.
As a Guild Wars 1 player I am most disappointed with the way guesting is going to work. Kaimick and few others might not see my point, because they are used to other mmos, pretty much none of which had things like guesting.
Still, I don;t know why ANet chooses to take easy paths in many aspects. I don;t agree with it. Guesting will become available after 5 months since they game launched (even though it was announced long before release) and they come up with something like this? Then for heavens sake, why did we have to wait 5 long months for this??!!
Well using Guesting to get Map completion in WvWvW is something that they did not want. There is an interview with the developers about this. The restrictions are in place for a good reason and even though you may not agree with it, others have no issues with it.
yes, I agree, but guesting always was about pve only. I never even mentioned WvWvW. it would be stupid if you could represent servers other than your home.
The thing is there shouldnt be so harsh restrictions in pve. It doesn’t affect the balance in any possible way. Being able to visit 2 servers per 24 hours is kind of out of place. I wonder what were the arguments for that. If thats only because people could farm materials this way (as it would reset nodes) then they could try harder to come up with something more reasonable that would prevent it.
I would like to see the Dervish back in the game.
First of all though, I expect ANET to add more skills.
As for rest of the content you can sleep safely. They know what to do They probably don;t even read all thsoe long threads. They are masters at this trade at last.
Dwarves will not be a playable race, somewhere Arena Net has stated this already. You will see more of the Dwarves when we fight the Destroyer elder dragon but that is the extent of the dwraves.
Personally it will be great to not see Dwraves as a playable race in a game for once. Also as a assumptive guess Elonia will be opened before Cantha, seeing as there is way more about Elonia in the game currently then there is about Cantha.
Elona*
As for dwarves, there is a good lore reason for them not being a playable race. To find out more though, I encourage you to try out Guild Wars 1.
I think that is the point guesting is mainly driven to allow people to play with friends that can not join their server’s due to it being full. Personally I would never guest on a server I didn’t know anyone on that would be silly.
Also may just be me but if you want someone to take your post or thread seriously you may want to use proper English. Plox is not a replacement for any word let alone please. Just saying being professional and respectable in your suggestions ( meaning proper word usage ) goes a long ways.
hah, I love your remarks
Anyways, playing on a server where you don’t know anyone isn’t stupid. It may happen that you need to explore something and on your server there is pretty much nobody around there. Or perhaps you are playing late in the night for some reason and feel lonely since other people are asleep at that time (however this would probably require being able to guest on other region servers).
As of now, guesting is way too restrictive in my opinion and it shouldn’t be this way. I seriously don’t see much point why Anet decided to go this way. I bet there are other ways to prevent potential exploits other than setting ridiculous restrictions. And don’t forget the game came out on 28th of August 2012. That was quite a few months ago. Anet had time to polish the whole system. Actually I was even expecting it to be available from the launch.
I can only guess that this implementation of guesting can only help someone who wants to run around the countryside with people in other servers, as those are often not full so you couldn’t count on switching to the same person’s overflow. Also for things like temple of balthazar…
Exactly. At least those were my expectations. Being able to guest only on 2 servers per 24 hours is just useless unless you really have friend on other server and you know for sure they are gonna be playing there.
I was eagerly anticipating guesting. It’s not out yet but it already sucks in my humble opinion. As a Guild wars 1 player I expected guesting to be somewhat similar to district switching, except it would work everywhere, and not just in the towns.
How could you apply so many restrictions? I think server switching should be pretty much unlimited. 2 servers per 24 hours is definitely not enough. I know there are quite a few concers regarding crafting materials for example, but how about you try to figure out some different way to prevent abusing guesting, huh? Im sure it’s possible.
I also don’t like the fact that you cannot guest on American servers if your home server is European one and vice versa. This however can be understood, as data centers are quite big obstacles. You could work on it though and try to figure out something to change that. I really hope it happens later on in the future.
Guild Wars 1 was so awesome because you could play with all of the players around the world. I’ve met so many cool people online. Guesting in GW2 is a huge let-down. Again. It isn’t bad, just like everything else about the game, but I feel like GW1 was alot more superior in many aspects. In this one too.
