I saw this person at the bank yesterday and couldn’t even begin to understand why that would be appealing. One, maybe two at once can look okay (albeit a bit obnoxious), but why do something so ugly?
Please no more aura infusions and obnoxious particle effects in general.
And why only have those available once you’ve maxed out luck? If that were to be implemented, it would be better to let people buy that stuff even if they don’t have max luck.
The main appeal of legendary stuff is the appearance. I didn’t make Bifrost because of the stats when I could’ve gotten an ascended one for less work (and the rest of my weapons were also already ascended).
Legendary stuff in general is overrated, since it’s really not necessary, and is mainly for people who have specific cosmetic interests.
inb4 someone yells at me about how the stats on legendary gear can be changed easily as if I didn’t already know.
I only wanted the God-Slayer shortbow skin after Renegade was announced, but the pack was removed from the gem store before then. I really want it for PoF, it’s the only shortbow skin I really want.
That won’t go over well. People get really kittened off when people even mention not wanting to see people’s obnoxious hard-earned flashy items.
I went there to do the diving goggles thing for the achievement, and was fully determined to do it myself, made it maybe half away and some kind soul fell from the heavens and ported me up, and explained to me how to do the diving goggles (since it can definitely fail).
Basically what I’m saying is, get someone else to do it for you.
You say that like there’s already a glider skin for it in the game.
Well that’s because it says September, not August. September 18th, 2017 hasn’t happened yet.

I think it would be better to give us the right to choose if we want skimpy or not. And this applies to both available gender choices. Let the women cover up if they want to, and let the men show a bit more skin if they want to.
Also… less tiddy holders for heavy armour. That’s not how plate armour works. It shouldn’t separate and define the tiddies, because that not only makes 0 sense but also makes a weak point in the armour. It’s like no armour designer has ever seen two boobs in the same place in their life.
I had a good answer and then when I hit post I got a site error so uh…… find cool gear and skins to wear for PoF. And get ascended stuff if you want, raids or no.
My tiddy will be out in PoF and no one can stop me. I’m tired of heavy armour covering everything except me face. That Elonian Breastplate will be mine.
Well I mean when I’m in squads with a friend I like to run with them and stuff, but it can be super difficult to find where they are. We could still have tags that only we can see. Like I can mark my friend and only I see it. I don’t even know how commander tags even came into this.
Well to be fair, I don’t know about anyone else, but the home instance doesn’t feel very homey. It would be cool to have a house or apartment that I can put stuff in. I mean, guild halls are great and all, but not everyone can get those. So what are we supposed to do with the cool decorations we get? Maybe put them in a house/apartment?
FFXIV has houses and they can be pricey, but it’s significantly cheaper to get an apartment if you’re just one player that wants their own space. And I know I would hang out with my partner in my apartment if we were chatting between dungeons or something.
I think it would be fun, as long as it’s accessible for everyone.
I just realized actually, OP says it spikes every evening. Like around the time everyone comes home from work/school/etc.. Do people realize bandwidth isn’t infinite, and can often take a hit because other people on the same grid or whatever (possibly even the same network) are all watching Netflix at the same time?
What kind of rich prick thinks demanding the players pay more than they already do to play a game they’ve already bought is a good idea. We get it, you can afford to pay $10 for every mouse click, but not everyone can. How about you take some of that money and be generous with it instead, like buying me gem store items.
You’d think that if it was DDOS attacks it would affect everyone and potentially bring down the game for everyone… and yet….
I can’t wait for people to figure out how to AFK fish so they can periodically make 5 copper while they’re doing something else instead of playing the game.
Just… open the Hero menu and swap them? It’s really not that difficult.
I am not crazy about the colors either, but I would rather they reduce the size because it is just too wide and goes past the edges of my screen. It gets annoying having to move it everytime.
How…. how? Is your screen like 200px wide?
Guys,
The reason that this particular name is blocked is entirely different than you believe. In fact, we block names that have a space around the letter “G” because that’s the most effective way to block someone from posing as a Game Master. We learned from experience in our own and other games that some people impersonate GM’s in an attempt to scam other players. They might use GM Fred or G M Fred, or they may incorporate symbols that look like “GM” at a glance. Blocking a self-standing letter “G” allows us to better prevent that unfortunate situation.
See? It’s not those Pesky SJWs, it’s just a filter to prevent sketchy behavior. Maybe now you can all calm down.
I think they said some time around release. Like a few days before or something. It says something about it in the contest rules, I believe.
Good. Then I get to be the only Revenant in a group full of Elementalists. I hate having the same thing as other people.
Yeah let’s make it all happy and exciting looking while we chase Balthazar through Crystal Desert to foil his plans. That makes sense.
The darker colours and purples/browns/oranges have been part of it since the end of LS3 and the splash screen saying to look forward to the announcement.
HoT was green and white (for some reason), and this is what it is. Why make them similar?
No one 100% knows why it got blocked. Then say there’s no way you could know it’s racist, but you do know it’s totes ‘cause of those gosh darn troublemakin’ no good dirty rotten pig stealin’ SJWs.
Does anyone know what this says.
The whole point of elite specs is to change the way you play a profession. That includes the weapons.
Not to mention, most of the weapons and their skills are affected by their associated traits. They’re connected. It’s how it is.
I got up early for that once, and as soon as the event started, every TTS commander vanished. Didn’t even bother trying again.
It’s funny that you say that, it’s almost as if you’ve never heard of datamining. People have found things out about the game for certain that way. So I thought maybe someone datamined info about the rune as well. There’s no reason to pretend like it’s not possible.
Isn’t this part of the forums supposed to be players helping players? I don’t feel very helped right now, I just feel talked down to. Even if you don’t know and don’t think it’s possible to know, you really don’t need to criticize my interest in having a build planned before PoF is out.
For a more actually helpful answer, the best way depends on the person. Everyone has preferences when it comes to what they’re willing to do. I like to do world bosses and just sell mats that I get from the gear rewards. My pal likes to farm map rewards like charged lodestones and sells them. Daily achievements are good because you get 2 gold every time. It’s not fast, but it’s reliable.
You just gotta find what works for you and keep doing it. I know that’s probably not the answer you were hoping for, but unfortunately there’s no surefire fast way.
Okay that’s great but I didn’t ask for advice on when to start doing things. What I did want to know was what the rune does, if anyone knows about it yet. That way I can decide if I should wait for it or not.
The wiki mentions its existence, but there’s no page for it and thus no info. I’ve been struggling to find good runes for the build I want in PoF, and since I’ll be using Renegade anyway, I thought maybe it would be good.
Does anyone know what bonuses it gives?
There’s lots of things in the game I’d love to have, but none are as mysterious as the Plush Ram Backpack Set. Since I came to know its existence, I’ve never seen it in the gem store. And I certainly can’t afford to buy hundreds of BLCs to get it through a wardrobe unlock.
So if someone has it or happens to get it, I’d really like it. It’s so cute. :0
I’m on NA, by the way.
I mean if you have the gold and want the legendary weapon, then yeah. I had to buy a lot of mats for when I made mine (including the precursor, since I still have never gotten one as a drop), but it was cheaper because I was willing to do all the other stuff. If you don’t care about saving money and just really want it, then go for it.
I don’t think ANet is going to change it just so all the zerker babies can have fun again. Adjust, get left behind, or just play the kitten game.
It makes me laugh that people think ANet intentionally makes things a certain way to upset them.
Just go with the meta, as the pro players say.
Just…. play how you want…………..
Here’s a wild idea — just go into WvW and try it out. You can still use the skills, and there’s random mobs that hang around that you can hit. Have none of you actually played WvW and just assumed?
Yes, many of us have tried WvW and have spent enough time in there to know what’s what. That doesn’t mean that is how we spend 95% of our hours in-game. How fun would it be for us who do NOT like it to go in and try the new builds only be dead in 20 seconds? Try the training dummies? Yeah, that is loads of fun. A good way to spend the weekend, right?
And, how fair would that be to the new specs themselves. We seldom participate in this form of play so how would we judge the fun factor or viability for each of them?
All we are asking is why the spec beta is not going to be available for the other large portion of the population. I remember trying the Revenant out in Frostgorge and other areas of Tyria. If that isn’t possible, why not just let us use the demo area to try them out?
After my weekend of trying to play as much as I could while not rapter riding, I was really looking forward to trying the specializations.
From an unbiased perspective, since the great majority of players in this game are pve based primary players, this makes the above point very fair and relevant.
Sure, but let me reiterate. There’s PvE mobs in WvW. There’s random monsters in some areas that you can fight and try out your skills. You claim to know WvW, so I would assume you’d know that. You don’t need to fight other players in there to try the skills, so I’m really not sure why you think that’s what I said.
I don’t even play WvW (except for when I was working on my legendary) or PvP, but I’m not crying about having to go in there to try them. Get over it or just wait for the expansion to be available.
Yes please. I hate runs and sigils I get from salvaging gear, I never intend to use them, and they sell for nothing.
Still, it’s pretty hard to not have enough money for general gold sinks. Those things are like waypoints, trading post fees, salvage kits, etc.
If you can’t even afford those, you’re clearly doing something wrong. Do the daily achievements or something. Quite trying to cling to every copper like the game is stealing it from you or something.

People act like gold sinks are going to make them go broke, as if they don’t do WB trains and SW etc. etc. and have gold come out of their rear. Oh no 3 silver or something, how will I afford it.
Yes please. My character had a baby smooth face for the duration his hair was pink. Once I changed it to Cool Brown (or whatever it’s called) I added the five o’clock shadow and it was like ahhh.
I assume this is an armour problem, since I haven’t noticed it before recently.
On my human male herald, the Foefire Wraps freak out and stretch and squish the right wrist while doing the /talk emote.
I spent a lot of times in dungeons running a support Guardian and doing so much with my left hand in such a short span of time that one of my fingernails started to hurt. Between buffing everyone and keeping them and myself alive, I was pretty busy.
Otherwise, I think everything is pretty equal with regards to how reactive and frantic they can be. It can really depend on what builds you use.
I’m aware that people refuse to actually do anything besides stand in a group and press 1. That’s how it actually completely failed earlier today.
Which is why I think having 2 of 11 achievements (when 10 are required to be completed) that are so heavily dependent on a well organized map is stupid. It’s a total bottleneck and the only thing stopping me from getting the backpiece. But “just get a group together” is way more difficult than people think it is for the average player. Doing the Verdant Brink meta was easier than this.
Anyway, @Durrik, it did not work. I joined the fight from far away with no involvement whatsoever in the last little bit without it flying off, but still didn’t get it. A good idea, though.
This is absolutely true advice for the solo player. However, if you do anything group oriented, meta matters. Your idiosyncrasies will only compromise group efficiency and effectiveness—and the group will notice.
What’s it like playing to have 0 fun? I don’t know what that’s like because I don’t let other people dictate what gear I use. And I haven’t had any problems doing group content with the gear/build I use.
Do you mean…. transferable?
