Are things like the bomb, the rabbit, and Mossman completely random? I run on a vanilla DPS guard who often happens to be the tankiest in the group, and I’ve felt like I get targeted by those things the most, which only adds to the disgust as I’m often already face-tanking whatever with low endurance.

It’s almost offensive really. They expect us to care just because they tell us to in their kittenty fanfiction. It just shows how disconnected the writers are from the average audience who just don’t give a kitten about their fantasy world like they do.

And this cringy character isn’t the first time, either. As someone who was on a hiatus during season 1, I still have trouble giving a kitten about any of those new characters that got thrown at my face since. Why should I feel anything about any of those annoying kittens I haven’t even connected to. They just don’t learn or don’t care.

I had huge issue with this until I mega-cheesed it on my heal/tank guard. I just specced it for retal + dodge heal, facing against the thing and basically tabbed out. The guard one spawns with GS and pathetic dmg, so it just spun on my ass and killed itself really quickly with no need to CC or anything.

As far as the story, I ran out of kittens to give since the start of S2 (S1 I didn’t even get to play) simply because their characters are like straight out of cringy fan-fictions written by middle-school nerds:

- their obsession to ram kitten infatuation down our throats over and over like it’s something special and holy
- annoying and cringy blabbermouth Taimi
- emotionally incoherent emo wreck Braham
- dull and always tired/pissed-sounding wallflower Rox
- Canach, an utterly failed attempt at cool and witty
- Rytlok who’s always kittening and mourning and sighing

etc. etc. etc. This gets painful fast. I’m only playing the story bit just for shinies and to see Zojja again someday.

GS necro "AFK farm" in Bitterfrost?

Soggy Biscuit.9372

I’ve been berry farming for the past few days, and almost each time, I saw different necros with full pets out, GS4 auto-cast on parked at the spot shown in the attached image, farming little spiders and occasional trolls.

So I guess my main questions are: Is this kind of farming considered okay? If not, why is this skill and others that are similar even allowed to auto-cast? Their only use that I’ve seen is AFK farming like this.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I’m just another of those who bothered by too much emphasis on this pair that they don’t give a flying kitten about, but I just see it as a rocky patch being exaggerated so they can dramatically make up and shove their lovey dovey kitten down our throats again, even though one of them may end up dying in the process. I hope they will.

"Don't Knock Yourself Out" achievement tips?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Soggy Biscuit.9372

Soggy Biscuit.9372

In case you guys can’t remember it, it’s the one in the charr area catacomb where you have to dodge all the knock-backs as you fight some statue.

Now, I’ve read and watched all the well-known (but outdated) guides and their comment sections, and in my 45 tries (and I quote, fourty-five) I’ve tried:

  • all the “safe spots” that seem to have since been fixed, as the kittening balls spawn right on top of me
  • standing behind the statue or at the right hand corner of the entrance or the rubble pile to the left of the entrance
  • dodging the balls, kiting, CCing them as I ran with -66% kittening move speed
I’m too tired and kittened to remember what else I did. Anyway at some point the game will say, “kitten you” and just drop rubble or a fear ward or a floating ball right on the destination of my second dodge roll or something.

I’ve used a staff reaper for mobility and ranged DPS/CC/minions but if there’s any other, more recommended class/build for this specific kittening achievement, I’d love to hear it too. I’m going to take some weeks’ break from this kittening crap but I intend to give it one last try once my wrist recovers from all the clicking because of the initial dialogue of some stupid cats. Thanks very much in advance.

A painfully long-kitten boss fight the entirety of which you need to redo every time you wipe because of one of a few dozen crappy kitten random bugs. Other than that and annoying major NPCs, I don’t have a lot of complaints.

I’ve been noticing this as well, but in my case, they usually sit atop Koda Braziers, safely auto-spamming short-CD AoEs like necro GS 4 with pets out to tag everything during defense events. I don’t see how this could be considered different from botting, and I count on Anet’s appropriate and prompt action as always.

Hear ya, it took me an hour or two and frankly I don’t even want to look in this JP’s general direction anymore. I know there are tons of people who find this kinda thing challenging and fun and that’s completely fine. But I have a little bit of issue when they gate universally needed things like MPs for those who simply suck huge kitten at action-ey stuff like platformers and shooters.

Soggy Biscuit.9372

I’ve successfully done this daily twice in the past, but today I have no luck making any progress with it. To save time for both of us, I’ll just bullet-point my observation:

-I’ll ground-target a skritt and throw a snowball at them, targeted, but it will fly right through them. As this happens, I can see the snowball icon flicker under their health bar, but it doesn’t count towards completion
- Tried in multiple locations, hostile and friendly targets, including those out of a gift box
- Sticky ground targeting thing disabled
- Tried re-logging after many hours. Nope

Thanks for your attention. Saw an year-old thread on the same issue, but I thought I shouldn’t necro.

It would be nice, but I don’t expect for them to care enough anymore. My favorite part is joining the map with this crap going on with the huge “0 – 600” at the top of the screen.

I’ve seen a handful of characters doing this on certain spots every time I logged on. They were all on their rangers, spamming heal on every CD while their AoE pets would take care of trash mobs that would spawn on top of them.

Reported with their names and screenshots, and I no longer see them, ever. I like to think Anet was kind enough to take action very quickly and banned their kitten.

Wouldn’t that be nice, so that you don’t have to swap through 4, 5, 6 characters just to find that one god kitten item you can’t remember which one had? I’ve been very slowly grinding ascended everything, but often lose track of which character does or doesn’t have what, especially the accessories from the new maps.

Sorry, but evoking the response, “Why is he acting like this, and why am I letting him act like this, this is frustrating and annoying,” is not the same thing as evoking an emotional reaction and being disliked.

My response as a filthy casual was, “Why is this kid that I don’t even know or care about acting like this, and why am I even wasting time watching this crap, this is frustrating and annoying”. Yes, not playing the LS is a choice, and I should have gone with it.

I wouldn’t mind that if that means 1) we can have more interesting replacements and 2) we will be seeing less of in-your-face PDA (nothing against lesbians, but the writer/s seem to have some lingering fetish over them, or is it to cater some fan demographics?).

I missed the first LW story so there’s that, but honestly, to me, none of the major characters has been interesting enough to care one bit.

in Living World

Posted by: Soggy Biscuit.9372

Soggy Biscuit.9372

Yeah, I wonder the same every time I see those NPCs, mainly because I missed the very first LS due to a long hiatus. I don’t care enough to wiki either, so I don’t know why those weird-looking people are following me around, calling me boss, or flirting 24/7 in front of me calling each other doll or love. So there’s just no getting myself into this whole thing. I just tab out whenever some dialogue starts.

I think the damage you speak of has already been done to some, certainly to me. I never cared much for the story to begin with, but this particular bit completely put me off this character to the point I’d rather not drag myself through the rest of this LS unless this annoying kitten brat is going to join his mama in the end.

Soggy Biscuit.9372

Mine are very minor, but:

- Long duration of CCs and how they keep you in combat. I can get stunned, tab out, read some emails, tab back, and I’m probably still stunned.

- I worry that by the time I bring my alts to HoT maps, they will be even emptier than they already are. Hopefully Anet is open to downgrading HP champs to elites or vets.

- That mesmer signet that keeps giving you buffs. I like to keep dialogue volume high, but I couldn’t stand Jennifer Hale going “This rose has thooorns, and here they are” every few seconds. I couldn’t be assed turning volume up and down either, and so I ended up deleting my female mes.

Hi Flesh Wound and all who kindly responded to me,

Many thanks for your messages. Actually, I got to log on a few hours after my last post to find out the last player I mentioned either logged out or got booted out (it was during US peak hours) never to be seen back up since. I appreciate Anet’s prompt handling of the issue, especially considering the amount of reports they must be getting each day.

Well, gladly to see — every single one of those that I reported look to be getting banned, they aren’t logging in anymore.

That’s kind of encouraging, even though there seem to be an inexhaustible amount of them.

Yesterday I saw too many of them on my low-level toon, so I decided to sit at their apparently common path and report as many as I could after tagging them as friends. Saw maybe 8 or 9 in 15 minutes, only caught 3. Screenshotting can be hard if your PC/connection is crap like mine, as they may disappear before your game lags right as you press that Prt Sc key.

I just spent three (3) hours doing just “Dusturbance in Brisban Wildlands” and “Fallen Hopes” from LS2 and its incredibly annoying jumping puzzle in the Prospect Valley for “Zephyr’s Ascent” and “Zephyr’s Descent,” only to find out I didn’t get any of the achievements I clearly should have gotten. I stood at the top of that highest platform, I didn’t let any of the workers die, I destroyed all the Asura devices, I killed the big golem with smaller ones. I got nothing.

I wouldn’t have wasted so much of my valuable time doing those and a jumping puzzle I kittening hate to death, had I known the whole thing is buggy as crap to begin with.

Please do look into this. I’m stuck in terms of mastery points and I need some, any, of the LS2 episodes to work.

Things you should know before buying HoT

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Soggy Biscuit.9372

Soggy Biscuit.9372

After seeing all the negative feedback, I recently bought it readying myself to be angry and disappointed. So far the only complaints I have are:

1. Newbies/casuals like myself can easily get lost in many ways. Constant going back and forth between the game and Wiki/YT isn’t my definition of fun.
2. The new professions or whatever they are called tend to suck a huge one.
3. The maps are kitten to complete due to all the jumpy-puzzly nature.
4. World boss fights are brain-numbingly boring and long.

With just those subjective cons, I don’t feel like I lost out. The story, well, I never really paid attention to it, but the PC voice actors are amazing for sure.
