Lol aye GoF here as well really sucked defending “your” keep for 3 hrs while you took all keep supplies and sat in your golem army. Now we have moved on since that night at least I have anyways. I just personally didn’t see the strategy in effectively locking down our whole borderland army defending a keep with no supplies because you had to go golem mode on a Friday night at match start.

Well the army kinda … you know … worked.

Do/did people really do this?! Seriously P1 takes like 15 to 20 minutes tops for my group to finish and we kill everything.

I’d REALLY like to see this. 3 minutes on each alpha fight, perfect laser run, all 5 security locks at the same time, and Bjarl the Rampager never having Scales of Jormag, ever.

No really…I want a video…I’ll wait.

of course you hear a lot of people complaining, they’re the only people that will say anything. the vocal minority always sounds louder than the quiet, content majority.

now i won’t pretend that there aren’t some flaws with dungeons, and that some paths are boring, but there will always, no matter what game, be people trying to figure out ways to do the most stuff with the least effort, and once those methods become widely known, other people won’t want to be left behind and will follow suit.

I don’t think there is a vocal minority disliking the dungeons in this game. I’d say it’s far more like a majority. PvE players have not appeared to be at all happy with how the group content has turned out for this game.

Dungeons are just one massive glaring sloppy issue in a mess of unfulfilled pre-launch promises. Sure, I can’t see the chat on every server, but I can see chat on mine plus the posts here and other forums.

People simply aren’t happy.

Hell, go look in the video guides thread at the top of this forum – some of the videos have user uploaded comments on youtube about how they don’t even like the dungeons in this game. These are contributing members to this community, telling would-be new players, or even players looking to get into dungeons that they simply aren’t fun.

It speaks volumes for just how bad the dungeons actually are.

Path of least resistance, this will always happen, doesn’t matter how interesting the fight is, people will always avoid it if it is possible to avoid while obtaining maximum reward.

As far as I see it, there are only two viable options:

1. Give an incentive to clear trash (via unique skin drops or increased rewards).
2. Force the trash to be fought (via leashing mechanic or some gating mechanism).

As long as you can get away with not doing something while still being rewarded, people will always skip whatever they can. Interest/fun is often times not a factor.

Path of least resistance applies to all games, but never in the scope that it applies to this one. Never are you punished to such a degree of either boredom or frustration as you are in this game when you are forced to fight a pack of mobs. The aggro system is busted, damage tuning is utterly out of control from room to room, dungeon to dungeon. Wipe mechanics are seemingly put in to just kill the player and not create a sense of challenge, and by that I mean systems put in place that cause a player to be chain CC’d and AoE focused to death without any way for the player to react.

I’ve wiped for weeks in other MMOs while our guilds learn fight mechanics and deal with player positioning, boss positioning, tank cooldowns, healer cooldowns, etc… Rarely was it ever to a degree that people stopped having fun.

This game however, wow – there is such a huge disconnect between what Anet finds fun and what the bulk of the GW2 playerbase finds fun – I’m basing this off of chat in game, lack of people willing to run specific paths, and the pretty heavy and consistent stream of complaints on this forum.

None of the dungeons in this game are fun. There are only a couple of boss fights that are even remotely interesting.

Every trash pull in the game is done with the intent on finding a way to avoid that trash pull in future visits.

I have never seen a MMO community go to such great lengths to avoid mechanics in PvE content like I do in this one.

People sitting for 20 minutes in CoE path 1 waiting for all the trash to despawn.
People spending 30 minutes jumping through sections of the map to avoid a 10 minute underwater fight because the fighting is just too irritating in HotW paths 2 and 3.
People going to great lengths to avoid actually doing content in CoF path 2 and working night and day to find ways to exploit an encounter or cheese a mechanic because the way it is designed is so poor that people have no interest in participating in it.
People chaining speed buffs to burst through areas in TA explorable because stopping to fight the mobs is just too annoying.
People wiggling their way onto rock ledges to jump over gates/walls in CM explorable to avoid fighting some of the bandit pulls because they’re so stupid to deal with.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve been in a full and complete “as designed” dungeon run in weeks. Every group has a modified way to circumvent a particular scenario. It’s a testament to how hideously designed a great deal of these dungeons are when people actively look for ways to get around your mechanics to such an extent that if a path doesn’t have enough of them they simply won’t run it.

Why is the DPS check for the “push back flame legion forces” part ignorantly high? It’s a level 75 dungeon afterall, and there’s simply no way a group of players in level 75 appropriate gear could ever possibly get through this section.

I’ve attempted this place around a dozen times, it’s one of 2 explorable paths I have left for “Dungeon Master” and it’s so poorly tuned that I haven’t seen a group make it through wave 3 before being overwhelmed.

What’s the trick? Do I seriously have to start requiring people link all of their gear (something I’ve NEVER done on ANY explorable path I’ve pugged which is all but the 2 I have left)? Is this path tuned to such a degree that it requires me to be a pompous kitten to people not in full exotics? I mean, I’ve got a rep on Darkhaven with a lot of people that I’ll take anyone into a dungeon and help them through it – but this path, my God it’s just stupid.

Last match for Northern Shiverpeaks was an even match almost all the way through. Don’t know why we aren’t fighting our equals this match.
Guess the true battle is between us losing servers for now. We will beat you Ehmry Bay! 10 to 50 points at a time!

Stick with it. Darkhaven is strong over night, and historically abysmal during the day. We typically build a nice lead, and then watch it vanish until our night crew comes back.

Geyser has been practically worthless since beta. It’s so short that by the time other players notice that it’s there and start moving towards it (or stop moving, if you tried to cast it directly under them), it’s gone. The heal is also very poor.

Like Sojou said, it’s only (vaguely) useful if you manage to cast a blast finisher on it, which is just too much work (and too narrow a timing / spatial window) for too little reward.

It should either last longer, have better healing, or have some other useful effect (ex., knock back enemies radially, which would make water attunement feel a bit more dynamic).

With zero healing it (blast comboing) can fill over 50% of most player’s hit points, and it’s insanely easy for an ele to blast finish it himself. Drop eruption, swap to water and drop geyser – when eruption pops, you have combo’d.

The benefit of healing geyser is using a blast combo finisher on it. That’s something you can’t accomplish with water 1.

Lava font has 4 sec CD. When you switch attunement, you get 15 sec CD. So your DPS is greatly reduced for 11 seconds if you have 20 or more points in fire. This is because most traits are specialized and support only one attunement. And all traits for attunement swap are arcane, but arcane tree doesn’t provide any stats, so it’s almost useless for DPS build.
So attumenet swap is needed when it’s dinamic boss fight and you need buffs from attunement switch. But switch when you need high DPS for standing target is just pointless.

Or 9 seconds if you’re spec’d properly into arcane. Eruption does well over 10k damage in 6 seconds and is a blast finisher which is vastly superior to standing there derping it out in fire.

I’d switch more often, if switching back didn’t have such a long cooldown. I don’t understand why that’s there.

Spec into arcane, it lowers the CD between switching plus gives you access to party boosting traits.

Too bad they don’t have parsers or it would show that staying in fire with staff would way outperform all of your unneeded attunement swapping just for fun. If you are in a good dungeon group your biggest asset would be dps and with your “support” builds many of you probably aren’t providing much. If you aren’t good enough to stay alive in just fire then you probably need to swap attunements often to make up for your mistakes. Sure it is boring sitting in one attunement, but it is the most effective dps (for staff).
Side note: I think the lack of parsers are why so many of these people like eles. They are probably the people that were never competitive for top dps in raids, etc in other mmos. Without parsing, they are happy to be oblivious to the fact that eles are inferior to the other classes and are simply mesmerized by our pretty spell effects.

And another bad elementalist claiming that if you tunnel vision fire attunement you’re better. DPS isn’t everything and sitting in fire doesn’t top your charts. Blast combos > fireball spam every second of a fight.

So I have all maps completed except for Orr (Cursed Shore). I have 2 skill points and 4 POI left in Orr before I should be 100% DONE.

But it says I have 5 POI left. Yet every zone I enter says I’m 100% complete. Is there a special 1 POI zone?

Personally, I love that my content kills players and challenges them. I feel pretty kitteny though when my content beats someone into the ground and takes their lunch money. I at least want you to walk away with something more than a repair bill and some random blues, and folks here are working on that very thing.

Then perhaps you can make dungeons skillfully challenging instead of bombarding the player with cheap 1 shot tricks, terrible room management forcing us to fight the camera as well as the boss.

Just saying – you can make stuff hard and still keep it fun.

Because all the traits help only 1 attunement. So it’s worthless to switch to another attunement since you’ll get more damage staying in one.
Better just stay in fire if you have 30 points in fire since you get +20% damage from 10% trait and 2x 5% on burning. No real reason to go to earth since you will just reduce your damage by doing so.
Ironic that the class that is supposed to be all about swapping attunement is… all about not swapping.
Water without water traits doesn’t help your team. It slows the fight as you will be dealing no damage. The heal without +healing is barely noticeable.

This couldn’t be any more inaccurate. Not leaving fire while meteor storm, lava font and flame burst are on CD to hit earth and drop erruption/shockwave, then to water to cast ice spike, then back to fire is just playing your class about as poorly as you can.

Plus if you aren’t utilizing your own burst combo fields with erruption then you’re even more unprepared not only on how to play your class properly but in how to provide proper boons for your party.

You still get the dmg boosts to targets burning in any attunement.

Darkhaven spurred SoR into action, it’s as simple as that. We are currently matched up against two very well organised servers and the scoreboard is still close. Not as close as our match last week but still very close. We learned from our mistakes last match and adapted ourselves. These adaptations are keeping us from being steamrolled this week and it is thanks to Darkhaven that we learned to guard what we capture. When you guys go up against Northern Shiverpeaks or Yaks Bend next week you better be prepared. They are extremely formidable servers with a heavy defence strategy. Be prepared to place plenty of siege to defend and spend plenty of money on upgrading, there is no room for complacency in the next rank. Surprisingly there is only one reported hacking incident in our match this week which is great imo.

I’m not here to gloat or cause drama, I thoroughly enjoyed fighting your lot in our previous matches and felt It would be a friendly gesture to warn you that our match last week was like childs play compared to this week. If you want a challenge, you’re going to love it. If you prefer capping unguarded objectives or zerging small unorganised servers you’re going to be in for a shock. Me personally, I’m loving every minute in this match, the opponents just keep getting tougher and we need to adjust our strategy at every turn.

Staff has a lot of condition based damage that is insanely high. If you’re staying in fire throwing fireballs you’re doing it wrong.

Elite is Asura golem series 7 attack

Everything is around surviving, since I’m 100% PvE. I want out of stuns quickly (cleansing fire or lightning flash), I want to be able to dump several conditions instantly (cleansing fire), and I want to be able to kite backwards, then instantly get distance when mobs get close (lightning flash).

Arcane shield for when I’m channeling something and a red circle appears under me. I can pop it and just stand there for the vast majority of them.

I’ve used staff since I got my first one around level 5. It’s amazing.

I use a 30/10/0/0/30 build. The key is swapping attunements while fighting to keep everything rolling, and 30 arcane gives the shortest attunement swap while giving you access to providing boons on your party while you swap, plus the larger AoE on staffs and I took the arcane shield at 25% health.

10 air for 20% more damage to sub 25% health mobs.

30 fire for 20% CD reduction, dmg increase while fire attuned and 5% additional dmg while target is burning.

Staff is a terrible weapon for soloing; everything it has is very slow and most of what it has are ground-target AOEs that are awful for soloing mobs with.

Staff is not good for playing solo

Um, just no. Staff leveling is very simple and powerful, I leveled from 5 (or whatever ultra low level I got my first staff) all the way to 80 using nothing but that weapon.

Solo mobs or packs, they all die in seconds.

Single mob:
Start in earth – cast eruption since it doesn’t pull the mob until it pops, you can then cast shockwave.
Swap to fire – drop lava font, cast flame burst, then fireball.
Mob will be dead before it can get to you.

More than one mob (less than 5):
Start in earth – cast eruption.
Swap to water cast frozen ground
Swap to fire cast lava font, flame burst then fireball.

More than 5:
Start in earth – cast eruption
Swap to water cast frozen ground
Swap to fire cast meteor shower, lava font, flame burst, fireball.

Everything is dead. Nothing about leveling staff is hard or terrible, unless you find attunement swapping to be complicated (which most elementalists do).

I know people use this line alot for trolling purposes, but I’m being serious – you’re not doing anything wrong, it’s the class that’s broken. :p
Elementalists cannot glass cannon at their current state – simply because we get no “cannon”, regardless of spec. You either go with an even spread (I use 10,10,10,10,30, in pve) or a full tanky/heal build.

Apart from that, check the usual suspects –
Updated gear?
Using all your skills at the right moment?
Biting more than you can chew?
Using staff in solo pve – just don’t…
etc…

I’m using 30/10/0/0/30 as a staff. Going full carrion gear. I don’t die. There’s nothing wrong with staff elementalists when you learn attunement swapping and understand the concept of dodging.

Questions to Anet:

To what extent, or involvement is required on behalf of the community to help bring an end to botters, or at the very least impact their game in such a way that most of them go elsewhere? If I’m the only person that reports them, does it get looked at? Do reports only get exposure after “x” number of incidents?

The reason I ask these questions is it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get players to come to a spot to report botters. People simply aren’t interested, or believe that their report will do nothing.

Now, Anet has done nothing to cause the community to feel in such a way that I’m aware of, but lets face it, there are other MMOs where the feeling is the same, and I believe players just carry that thought process from one game to another.

I’ve reported groups of bots just traveling in a pack, teleporting around an area blasting away at every mob as it spawns. I’ve come back through the area days later, and they’re still there – with the same stupid names that are just the mashing of keys on a keyboard until one takes.

These bugged skill quests are getting old. If it’s people using pushback methods to try and beat them and having it result in a glitch, then they kittening things need an internal reset. Having to wait for server resets/patches has gotten old.

@OP: Fortunately for you EVERY other MMO on the market has a trinity system. Enjoy the myriad other games out there for you with that system. You have a TON to choose from.

Thank you! This is pretty much what it comes down to. If you miss the holy trinity, well every other MMO on the market has the holy trinity. But in those MMOs your experience is limited by the holy trinity too. No healer or tank -> can’t do dungeon.

So you basically you have two choices, either forget everything you have ever learnt. Go back to basics, read tips and tricks from people who have mastered GW 2 dungeon, watch youtube video guides etc, etc and try again. Otherwise, go play an MMO that does has the trinity.

I don’t miss the trinity – some silly moderator decided to change the name of my thread because they didn’t agree with its original wording and opted to instead change the focus of the thread to what they wanted to convey.

Basically, ignore the title, read the body of work inside and you’ll understand what I’m displeased about.

The moral is, don’t get downed

The truth is, it’s impossible when mobs/bosses train 1 person the entire course of a fight. NOBODY has enough defensive and healing abilities to sustain minutes of constant attacking before they run out of endurance, get hooked on glitchy terrain, have their camera spazz out because it touched a wall, or simply have a boss chasing them that has mechanics built into the fight that cause you to take damage regardless.

Either way, you cannot avoid everything, all the time, especially when you’re being trained.

But thanks for the education in boss aggro and tendancies from your point of view in the game – even though it’s not real world accurate, it’s great that it’s the way you see it. Definitely helps mask some of the AI flaws and broken fight mechanics.

There are 8 dungeons. 8 Story mode runs, and 25 exp mode paths over 8 dungeons. I am a pure melee character specced about 40% defense and 60% offense between gear/traits/utilities. I have successfully completed, multiple times, every story mode and 21 exp paths at this point. I ALWAYS melee. Never range.

So to say you’re FORCED to range dungeons is a huge lie. If you understand fields, spec yourself correctly with the proper tools/traits, you can melee with extreme effectiveness.

As far as complaints about “no trinity”…. seriously? 1000 other MMORPGs out there that have the trinity combat model. Why are you upset that GW2 isn’t another 1 in the crowd? If you don’t like it, go play one of the other MMORPGs that are trinity based. Don’t want to? Then learn to play GW2. All dungeons are extremely doable once you learn how to play.

All melee huh? Video links, cause every melee I’ve spoken to in the game has been forced to go ranged for many boss fights.

I always thought it was weird in trinity style games when the boss just sits on one player even though it’s disadvantageous for him/her/it. I come from playing many DnD campaigns as a dungeon master. Many monsters have a tactic, whether it be, kill the mage, kill the closet target, kill the most annoying player to the mob. Varying the intelligence of the creature fighting the party. I’ve recognized some similarities in this game.

In D&D campaigns, a reasonable dungeon master is not going to have one person tunneled to death because the mechanics of that ruleset won’t allow it.

In games with the trinity system, mobs are allowed to tunnel a tank because the system allows for it. The game is designed for this type of combat structure, and as a result the fights can be better balanced.

As a developer you KNOW the tank is going to be dealing with damage from X, Y and Z. At that point you know the tank will be doing A, B and C to survive (getting healed is one of those metrics). As a developer you can then chose to make the rest of the encounter engaging for everyone else, in a balanced, fair, and enjoyable fashion.

You can then have tanks deal with aggro drops, debuffs, streaming adds, 1 shot mechanics, timing cooldowns and mob positioning.

You also have healers dealing with proper resource management, cycling cooldowns during high damage phases, healing multiple targets and possibly DPSing some if the fight allows.

At the same time, you have DPS dealing with resource management, taking as little damage as possible so healers aren’t over-taxed, switching targets, dealing with debuffs, moving to various locations based on fight mechanics, etc…

I’ve had encounters where me and another guardian can switch aggro and the other pulls out of the fight to heal because he targeted the closest target. I’ve had encounters were it will switch to people ressurecting another. I’ve had a boss stick to one ranged character a whole fight. I’ve had different skills a boss did target different people.

The majority of our fights have mobs or the boss pick someone and tunnel them for 90% of the fight, if not the entire fight. Occasionally we’ll have a run where the boss swaps targets, but it’s rare.

This happened to us last night. It was annoying, but at the same time refreshing and only for the last 10% or so. Didn’t last long but we had some laughs over it.

But it works as advertised…you are twisting your own post. You don’t have a trinity cos u don’t need it. And you basically are saying that when your group wipes your pve experience is miserable…that means you need to shape up and learn what you did wrong in order not to die.

No I didn’t. I said when bosses/mobs fixate on someone the entire course of a fight, forcing that individual to have to run around and be rendered useless except for trying to heal and run – it’s no longer fun or enjoyable.

Whether I’m doing the running or standing there casting while someone else is running from broken AI mechanics, it’s not what was advertised. Mobs were supposed to be more random. They weren’t supposed to randomly glitch out and pick 1 person and tunnel them, and if that person happens to die, they pick a new target until that person returns to the fight, then they fixate right back on them. It’s not fun.

If you enjoy the game then play it and get better at it don’t waste time on silly posts. If you don’t enjoy the game find a new one that you do enjoy and don’t waste time on these posts…The problem is that you have to adapt to the game…..the game does not have to adapt to you.

Without having ever seen you in a dungeon, I can promise you, I would run circles around you and whatever group you have around you. Don’t come into my thread when I’m discussing specific mechanics that aren’t working properly and try to tell me to get better, or adapt.

Work hard to have a deathless run and feel its reward. Much more satisfying than any loot.

We have tons of deathless runs through all varieties of explorable paths – that doesn’t change the fact that when bosses/mobs fixate on someone instead of bouncing around keeping everyone on their toes, it takes all the fun out of the encounters.

Wow, there is so much fail in this post, mainly from the OP and others.

You do realize that to succeed in these dungeons, you will NEED to unlearn what you learned in other MMOs. Yes, we would like something familiar, but this is not WoW, this is not Rift, this is not SW:TOR.

I myself fell into the same rut when I first started dungeons, but now I can pass them all with ease, whether with my normal guild group, or with pugs.

You know what is awesome about these dungeons now? You have to use brain power to pass them now =). No more standing still mostly. You have to constantly be moving, and every fight requires planning, skill, and tactics.

OP, tell me a boss or bosses your failing at, and I will tell you how to pass them with no deaths =)

I haven’t failed at a single dungeon run. EVER. Nowhere in my post did I ever say I couldn’t kill a boss, or couldn’t complete a dungeon.

You are doing the typical internet routine of:
“I’m going to skim-read this post, see that you’re not happy about something and instantly assume you suck and can’t kill something even though you never said it.”

Re-read my post carefully and notice how I used the words “fun” and “enjoyment”. You won’t see anything about “too hard” or “can’t kill something”.

You obviously don’t know how to play your class or to spec your char. You think the fact that there’s no dedicated tank means that noone has to tank, ever. You think that there’s no dedicated healer means noone has to look out for others, ever. You’re wrong on both accounts.

I notice a trend that whichever server currently has the points lead draws the ire of everyone else: hacks, nightcapping, zergs, population imbalance etc.

This is the same SoR that was in 2nd and 3rd place last match, and 2nd most of this current one. The WvW queues aren’t any longer than they were last week. Good luck to everyone through Friday reset.

It has nothing to do with you guys winning. It was a great match up last week. It has everything to do with the numerous reports of people flying over tower walls, teleporting in, etc… It’s also incredibly odd that the MOMENT these things started to happen it went from being another close WvW matchup to what was posted above, 100% map coverage. People quit going in, not because we were losing, but because it’s pointless to try and defend anything when people are flying over capping your towers, or when people are teleporting around.

It’s not your whole server obviously, but it only takes 5 or so people like that to completely ruin the fun for everyone (except the people on the winning side apparently).

This, by the way is what happens when you guys decide to give up just because you’re losing against Sanctum of Rall.

When we got our kitten together, we became a steamroller. Darkhaven and Sorrow’s Furnace became a new road for us to pave over.

And then we painted it blue.

Actually, the main reason (at least on DH) that people are no longer going in is the rampant talk of SoR players flying, logging while downed, using the teleport bug, etc…

Let me give you one friendly advice OP. Just as i and many others did, quit and find the game u like.

GW2 won’t change no matter how many posts you or any one else make. There will always ppl that rly like the game as it is who will disagree and nothing will change.

GW2 is pvp based game with PVE content that sux for most of guys that likes traditionaly PVE in other MMOs.

Learn to read. I didn’t say I hated the game, I even specifically said when the PvE section works as advertised it’s very fun. When I falls apart (the majority of the time) it’s a miserable experience.

So, basically you are describing the role of a tank in most other MMOs here. Okay, they usually don’t run around, but otherwise it’s quite exactly what they try to do, they deal with a mob that “decides” to focus and try to stay alive.

Only this game doesn’t have trinity roles, so there is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A TANK. The mobs are supposed to cycle aggro, not fixate on a single random person for the entire fight like the majority of them do.

There are no melee professions in GW2, each char can use a ranged weapon and should do so if you are facing certain mobs or bosses. Most of the time you can use melee weapons, you just have to be specced and equipped accordingly. And no, a glass cannon build is not really helpful, you should have a bunch of toughness and use some defensive utility skills

Ahh, the cop out excuse. Of course there are no pure melee classes, but there are classes with a strong melee ability. The fact that the majority of the boss encounters in the game make people play ranged is a turn off. Sorry you don’t understand.

Just split up and wait until the mob is facing you, if he does, he’s also targeting you. Works fine for me all the time.

Or have a target of target. You can’t split up in every room/scenario. I know it works fine for you in internet land – but in the real game, it doesn’t work.

How exactly is “sit there going through your rotation while someone else runs the entire fight” different from “sit there going through your rotation while someone else tanks the entire fight”?
And if you are the target dummy, just think of yourself as the main tank.

I don’t want to be a kittening tank for the entire length of a fight? Do you kittening understand that? The entire point of this thread is to complain about the LACK OF VARIETY in targets that almost every boss/mobs has during the course of an encounter.

Anet’s claims prior to release was there would be no tanks, no healers, no DPS. You’d be everything. You can’t be everything when the boss/mobs fixate on you the moment you pull until they die.

I’ve seen fanboys defend stuff before … but wow, this almost takes top honors for defending something with absolutely no understanding of the mechanics at hand.

Yeah, I used to have this problem, until I started running with competent people. I’m an ele, a staff ele at that, arguably the squishiest class in the game. Yet still I take aggro more than anyone except our guardian, and I survive. Why? I block pulls, I evade, I cripple and slow and immobilize, and my allies do the same. Gives me tons of time to channel up my heavy hitters. If you’re running like a chicken, you’re either in an overtuned area, or you’re doing something wrong.

Block, evade, cripple, slow and immobilze Subject Alpha for the entire course of a fight. You can’t do it. When mobs don’t switch targets, the game breaks down, everything stops working. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you aren’t awesome.

Yeah because having a trinity means you have to think.

Much more to think about in GW2, unless you are running with a group full of warriors.

I don’t agree with this. The only difference that I’ve seen after extensive play in various story/explorable dungeons is someone almost always gets picked to be the only aggro target and they run the whole fight.

Otherwise, it’s still move out of red circles and DPS boss/adds.

Before launch, the whole talk about watching over yourself, dodging attacks, etc… It sounded amazing.

In practice though, it’s a miserable experience at times. Too many bosses/mobs get fixated on a single person for seemingly the ENTIRE encounter rendering them useless because all they can do is run away and try to live.

There’s nothing enjoyable about filling that role. Much like there’s a lack of enjoyment for basically EVERY melee character I’ve come across on this game because so few boss fights have mechanics that melee can deal with.

On top of that, you have no way of knowing if a ranged mob/boss is going to attack you because there is no “target of target” feature.

Maybe I’m burned out, maybe I’m just irritated after a 1 hour run of doing nothing but being the target dummy for every encounter in the place – but it’s just not fun anymore. On the rare occasions where mobs cycle targets, it’s fun, but more often than not you either run for your life the whole time, or sit there going through your rotation while someone else runs the entire fight.

Why would I be mad? I’m in WvW for vistas/POI – not to win. It’s good when we get a new matchup, it allows me to get new map coverage.

That’s the same glitch I saw an SoR invader do. Hope you report him like they did your guy.

Where in my post did I say I had screenshots? It’s all good anyway, they’ve been submitted. It won’t matter though – since you guys will move on to another matchup now. Congrats on the dominating 48 hour swing after what looked like a promising week of balanced fighting.
