Well, this isn’t WoW. (Thank the six.)
Actually, I feel it’s more of a challenge when you have to look for updrafts and/or places to land. So yeah, gliding is actually pretty fun.
I’m not sure if anyone already reported this but:
On revenant some skills prompt an involuntary camera turn if you’re not at the moment turning your camera yourself. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a bit sensitive right now, but for me this is in the same vein as camera shake: it makes me uncomfortable (as in, nauseous) looking at it for a longer period of time.
What I’m talking about is that some skills, especially sword skill 3, turn your camera left and right sometimes. If I remember correctly also stacking with hammer does this on skill 3 I think?
Please look into this. It’s fine that the camera follows the character when you use sword skill 3 but please don’t let it turn left and right. That’s too much for me ):
I have yet to see if locking the camera with free camera prevents this but since there still seem to be issues with login I might try that out later.
Ah yeah. I love the main theme though. That sure gave me chills when I first heard it like ’what’s going on???’ because my character select screen always takes a while to load, especially after a big patch like that, so I was intrigued about what happened to prompt that sort of music.
Tether: You chain enemies together and you have to press F1 again to pull them to you, it’s like GS 5.
Virtues: These have the same passive skill as on guardian, but the active sill changes. So in my opinion, dragon hunter gives you more options here to use your virtues. F2 let’s you jump towards other players and heal yourself and them for a greater amount than before. F3 gives you an active shield in front of you for a short time instead of only granting aegis. That’s a nice touch.
Not sure about people not wanting your ‘wells’, my best guess is that those might be light fields and no one wants that.
It was nice to see Forgal again. For a little while.
But what they did to Trahearne makes me never finish the story on any character ever again. I don’t even care for the rewards.
That part of the ending just stinks.
As for the egg:
My best guess is that Mordremoth’s death was like a chain reaction. Who knows? The jungle might be dying without Mordremoth, unless the mindless dragon’s body can survive on it’s own or act as a fertilizer.
Just think about it, Tarir was built as Glint’s legacy and the egg is part of that. Of course something would happen in that chamber. My hope for the egg is that it hatches. That’s all.
Well,
some of us are so curious about what happens in the story and we also want to avoid being spoiled at some point by accidentally clicking on something that we shouldn’t.
So.
I can’t share your mindset.
Whatever man.
I’m a very casual player. So casual that I sometimes don’t play for days.
My best guess is that this depends on how lucky you are to find a good map. I read that they’re trying to do something about that so that not so many copies of Verdant Brink are open at the same time to fix the population problem.
Also, I’d like to say that there are some events you can complete with only 2-3 players, like the escort events in ‘night and the enemy’ as well as conquering the pact rally points. You would still get a high percentage in participation.
Thank you for Canach *Contains Spoilers*

To be honest, the only DE members I really care about are Caithe and Eir, even if Caithe extends her mentorship to Trahearne at some point in your personal story if you play as a sylvari. That she didn’t explain anything hurt a little but I can understand where she’s coming from. (I must be … the only player who doesn’t care about Rytlock at all. I’m lukewarm about Zojja and I’m completely indifferent about Logan.)
I think Trahearne didn’t deserve the end he got in HoT. It doesn’t make sense to me either. You’d think that since the sword is a part of the Pale Tree that was actually able to cleanse all of Orr (!!!!!! can’t stress this enough) it would also be able to cleanse him – BUT NOT BY KILLING HIM!
Anyway, I hope Anet never gives the opportunity to transform the sword into a greatsword.
But since the topic is about Canach:
I was constantly scared when Canach wandered off alone that he would give in and turn on his allies. But he’s still around. He’s the cactus husbando. I’m glad nothing bad happens to him. Even if you take him along into the final battle he still stands strong in the end and that’s great.
(spoiler) Most unsatisfying end ever...

In all honesty, the only good thing for me about the end was the glimpse we get of Glint’s egg. That’s all.
The fight was kind of … um, yeah. I don’t know. The character model of the enemy seemed so goofy to me to be honest?
Also, a certain character’s death was completely unnecessary to me. I’m not over that and for my own good I’ll be in denial that it happened. To me, that character is alive and well somewhere. Suck it, bros.
A big thank you Anet! [Story Spoilers]

I was so disappointed with Trahearne’s death in the story. ): You know, it’s already bad about Eir because the way they did it is pretty much the fridge option – to further Braham’s story and to give him Eir’s bow despite the fact that he doesn’t use it. Any other characters than Eir and Trahearne I would’ve understood but not these two.
Not sorry but I’m hard about character deaths. Especially Trahearne’s death screws up the Pact’s chain of command structure. In the Personal story the only reason why he’s the leader is because he’s not part of any order, which was important back then. But now? Who could possibly step up? Obviously the sylvari are still immune to other dragon corruption so he would’ve been perfect for that still. I can only hope that the writers do the sensible thing and somehow manage to bring him back through some veiled sylvari lore about how memories are stored in the dream and do a rebirth sort of thing. I have this feeling that this character was sacrificed to the loud cries of the haters here. I admit it, I have no respect for people who use the weird excuse of ‘he stole my glory!! wahwah’ to justify this because to be honest: I fit weren’t for Zojja’s super laser cannon there wouldn’t be a dead Zhaitan so, yeah. Hope you kids are happy now that a nice character had to die for really no reason. Because I’m sure he could’ve been restored by the Pale Tree somehow.
Now what I found beautiful was discovering the Exalted ones and Glint’s legacy. I’m curious about what actually happens now to the egg and that’s the only bit about the ending that I liked, to be honest.
Also, Rata Novus: That was really intriguing! Although that story step bugged up for me and at some point Taimi stopped moving and I had to restart it. That was a bit of a bummer.
Aaaand of course the way Mordremoth interrupts your actions when you play a sylvari character was very interesting. I think no other elder dragon could possibly do that since so far the others only controlled minions through corruption and as a player you don’t get the chance to play a corrupted character.
Nice to know about Caithe’s REAL wyld hunt too! I just wished she had been given more time to redeem herself.
Thanks for letting Canach be alright at the end. He’s kind of ‘the cactus husband’ which is kinda important to me.
Pros: All the new features! Unfortunately I didn’t explore all yet because I’m the sort of player who plays the story first and looks at other things later. I especially enjoy the new map designs! And I LOVE Tarir!
Cons: The end of the story. You know, that made me so hateful towards whoever decided to end things like they did for a certain character that I know it’s actually unhealthy for me to feel this way. (I’m not exactly healthy in that direction.) I’m just so disappointed about that, really. And really, really sad, that you don’t actually get a choice in this matter and try a different route like you sometimes can in the storyline.
That really wrecked me. I don’t think I can play the game for a while and I’m obviously going to deny for myself that this part of the story ever happened.
Unfortunately no, but I got a similar crash that is actually more severe: my entire system crashes. The screen fades to some random color and the music also ‘freezes’. I don’t know how to explain properly, you pretty much can hear that it froze. The entire system doesn’t react at all.
I recently got a new graphics card but these problems started with the Blood and Madness patch where the game crashed my computer ONCE while in the Mad King’s Labyrinth. Afterwards it worked fine.
Then, with the new episode patch, the game crashed twice in the story part where you lay the bombs. Apparently something’s wrong with the animation there.
Afterwards, the game crashed on a different character who was simply standing in Lion’s Arch.
I don’t know what’s up with that, but it makes the game unplayable for me because I have to expect it to crash my entire computer at any given time.
