It’s in the Priory’s lower archives.
If your character is a member of the Durmand Priory they can get in by going to the Hero Point in the Priory and then going left to the grate covering the stairs.
Other characters can only get in during certain story missions in Season 2.
Thank you
Hmm looks like Divinity’s Reach, which doesn’t narrow it down much
Looks more like the Priory
I think you are right. I recovered some other sshots from that period from a backup. They have the UI on so I can see the minimap and in one sshot there is Ogden Stonehealer who can be found in the The Durmand Priory.
Thank you guys, I can now go visit it again!!
I took this sshot months ago as I usually do when I find a place I like. Unfortunately I forgot to write down where it was and now I can’t find it again.
It could be a place I found during the personal story but I’m not sure.
Thank you!!
Sticky keys is disabled, the keyboard is clean. I don’t use macros but it made me think that I use Autohotkey to disable Alt-Tab since I was hitting it accidentally sometimes. I’ll try to close Autohotkey and see if the problem persists, even though I remember having this problem even before I started using Autohotkey.
Another thing came to mind: sometimes when I press ‘W and D’ or ‘W and A’ to move diagonally (A and D are strafe for me, not turning) and then release the keys my character still moves to the left or to the right until I press the corresponding key again.
By the way I do play other games but I only have this problems with GW2. I play GW2 a lot more than the other games though.
Thanks for your help.
It’s not a new bug, I’ve experienced this since day 1 and I’m surprised it’s still here. In the past I didn’t give it too much importance because it was happening rarely. In the last few months though it is happening much more frequently, like 2-3 times in each pvp game.
When I press Alt + some key to use a skill and then release the Alt key, the game ignores the fact that I released the Alt key. In the past this was much harder to notice because Alt wasn’t causing the Player name to show up. Now it’s easier to see when it happens because the Player name shows up and doesn’t go away until I press Alt again to fix the problem.
If I only had 1 Salvage-o-matic and 1 set of permanent gathering tools I’d probably love to have a few shared bag slots but over the years I’ve bought salvage-o-matic for most of my characters and multiple permanent gathering tools which I wouldn’t have bought if I knew these shared bag slots where coming..
The revenge of the potatoe servers..
(pictures say more than words)
I’m not an expert but I guess PL stands for Packet Loss and your picture shows that it happens when the packets reach the ncsoft servers, right? And I guess ~33% of packets getting lost is a bit too much.
I contacted support and they responded very quickly and are trying their best to help me but we haven’t found a solution yet. The problem is that we are trying to find a software or service that somehow interferes with Gw2 but the way the ping behaves I doubt the problems are on my end. For example I noticed that I never experience this problem in the new WvWvW maps but I do experience it 95% of the time when I’m in Verdant Brink. If it was a software conflicting with Gw2 I think the ping should go crazy no matter on which map I’m playing, right?
Same here, not sure exactly when it started but it was 4-5 days ago. My ping which is usually between 70 and 80 suddently started to fluctuate between 70 and up to 900. The first time I experienced it I think I was playing a ranked match in legacy of the Foefire. I have this problem in spvp, major cities and Heart of Thorns maps. Tyria usually works and so do the WvWvW borderlands.
Everything else internet related works fine.
Everything is fine in Heart of the mists but once a game starts I get this weird lag, weird in the sense that the ping doesn’t spike (although it goes up to 120 or so which is twice the ping I normally have) but playing the game still feels like I have 500 or even higher ping, it goes from a slight delay on skills to the point that swapping weapons takes 3-4 seconds which makes the game unplayable.
I’m not downloading anything, other services that use the internet work fine and I’m the only one using this network.
I’ve been experiencing this kind of lag in pve maps too, both Tyria and HoT but only recently (a couple of days).
If I could toss a coin instead of playing a match, I’ll do that. After all, imo, it has more to do with luck than anything else. Fair games are rare in my experience, you either get to play in the good team and win relatively easy or get to play in the bad team and lose.
Honestly I’m getting tired of spending hours every day doing my best to win and still losing because the game decided so.
I see no point in playing with this system.
Thanks a lot, Donari!!
Guys I have a question. I know that the dye kit is account bound but I was wondering once you choose the dye, is it still account bound?
I can’t decide if I want to go for a dye I don’t have or for one of the expansive ones and then sell it. The tooltip says the kit is account bound but when I mouse over the dyes in the preview it doesn’t say account bound, it just says consumable like any other normal dye. I’m confused
Do you really think that if these skills weren’t intended to be used like that Anet wouldn’t have ‘fixed’ them already since the game has been out for almost 2 years now?
Like others said..
- they are skills on a relatively long cooldown
- they can be countered
- it counts like you are not on the point while you are invulnerable so you also risk losing the point
- it doesn’t work againts ele, thief and mesmer since they can move away
- other classes have their own tricks to stomp and if they are done correctly they can be even harder to stop than elixir S and mistform
- there aren’t as many ele and engi in pvp as you say. I would say engi is among the less played classes and half of those if not more don’t even use elixir S. I see a lot more warriors and necros than engis and eles.
I honestly doubt ppl play engis and eles because of their ‘superior’ stomp capabilities.
Hello, I submitted my ticket on April 28th, I got a mail that confirmed my request was receive and about half an hour later another email saying my ticket was getting tranferred to a member of the Guild Wars 2 Game Support Team for further assistance. Since then I received no update at all. I’d like to know if you are still working on my ticket or if it got lost.
Especially now that many new things are being added to the gem store it would be great to know if I’m gonna get back those gems or if I have to buy new ones since the new outfits only last for a week in the store.
Ticket number is 577020
Thank you.
You seem not to understand the concept of “macro”. It’s not faster than we could human possibly doing it, it’s more regular and reliable. It’s absolutely impossible to detect as it does exactly the same thing a “high skilled” player could do with the press of only 1 key for a combo.
It’s that regularity that makes macros detectable. A skilled player can surely press keys fast but no human can consistently press a series of keys in exactly the same order everytime and with the exact same delay between one key and the other.
Let’s say you are a skilled player and you press 5 buttons in 1 second and let’s call these keys A B C D E. One time you will hit A at 0.0 seconds, B at 0.3, C at 0.4, D at 0.8 and E at 1.0 and it will change everytime you redo it. If instead you run a macro it will look like A at 0.0, B at 0.25, C at 0.50, D at 0.75 and E at 1.0
I hope it makes sense
I don’t like this change.
1) In a level 1-15 zone I’m having some problems killing the mobs with my level 22 thief. I still manage to kill them by using rally at my advantage but sometimes I die.
2) If there is a well geared level 80 there it is way worse than before because before, even if you was low level you could still do an aoe and tag the mobs while now you have to decide which mobs you want to tag and if you are lucky you get credit for 2 or 3 while a high level character can tag and kill them all still pretty fast.
Imho, farming this things is now slower, harder and even more boring than it was before. I was doing it for the achi and to sell the dragon coffers to make the money for the wings since 100k candies is so insane that when I first saw it I thought it was a bug and they were going to fix it.
Yeah the build is pretty common, I was curious about the gear you use with it
Thanks.
GZ!! Looks really cool. I see you are also using the same skin I’m using for the leggings, did I inspire you? ;p
Can you share your build?
In spvp I wear the orrian. In pve and wvw unfortunately I can’t have it since I really dislike dungeons, so some weeks ago I decided to give the t3 a try and I’m very happy I did. I can’t stop taking sshots of my little asura now since she looks so cool!!
I use only the helm and the chest, I don’t like the legs. Boots and Gloves I think they are not worth the money. Here are some sshots, I hope they will help you decide.
For me, it is totally worth the money and loosing your air but I guess it depends on the asura you have and ofc your taste.
Oh ok, I got it now.. You are referring to the Halloween skins, right? Yeah they are really cool and they cost a lot now
I don’t think you can make pvp gear look like pve gear. I think it works only with those skins you can apply on gear. Now you can choose to either apply them on pve gear or turn the skin into a pvp item (no need to apply it on an item in this case.)
I hope it makes sense otherwise we can wait for someone with better english to explain it xD
“January 28th – February 4th Is Temple of the Silent Storm Week "
“- At the end of this period, the Temple of the Silent Storm map will be added to the tournament rotation.”
I’m afraid Naito is right..
In that case Valley is the regular weapon and Forest is the crit. Usually the crit for Orbs is the same you get as regular with Crystals and the crit with Crystals is the regular with Slivers.

As others, including myself, have suggested in other posts, it would be a great thing if they lowered the cost to join paid tournaments. This would certainly allow more teams to participate in paids which means they would also start more often.
I use my glory to buy gold chests and hope to find dyes.. sad, I know.. but at some point you just have nothing to do with the glory you get and the more you progress the more this becomes clear.
I actually think retaliation is too strong, expecially against some classes that can attack very fast. As far as I know it also reflects the damage even if you block the attacks. Also, a guardian can have easy access to retaliation and exactly when he needs it.
Necro can, potentially, have a great retaliation uptime. I say potentially because I don’t think ppl wants to spend 30 points in Soul Reaping only to take Near to Death and couple it with Spiteful Spirit.
I agree with Jumper, if they would change retal like that it would become overall more usefull and in certain occasions less deadly. It would become, let’s say more balanced.
I was falling asleep after a couple minutes but I kept watching until the end.
The fights are not bad but the reverse action is too much and it is sooo slow.. The entire video felt like some sort of introduction to the actual video. Sorry but overall I didn’t like it.
If they buff compassion then you would need atomic bombs to kill bunker elementalists xD
You can preview all the gear from the pvp bank in Heart of the mists.
To get the gear you want you can either open chests (you get them when you level up, you can buy them with glory and win them in tournaments) or craft it. To get the mats for crafting you need to salvage pvp gear. Depending on the mats you will use to craft you will get a certain piece of gear. For a list of recipes you can check this guide:

I suggest you to add in the title if it is for [EU] or [NA].
I will always love DAoC. I played it regularly (and by regurarly I mean many many hours a day since back then I could afford to do so.. good times xD) for about 7 years, then another couple years every now and then and still now sometimes I get invited by friends to play on private servers, a friend of mine even opened one recently.
Does my username bring good memories? xD
@Powerr – Cool, I didn’t know you are an ex DAoC player!! I think you recognize me since I have the same name on twitch.tv and I often watch your stream
Ohhh I’ll tell you guys a funny story.. When WoW came out I was playing DAoC but I tried it anyway.. It was hard for me to kill mobs in the noob area, sometimes I had to run or die and you know why? I was so used to DAoC that I wasn’t trying to cast spells when the mobs were hitting me.. instead I was trying kite – cast – kite and so on.. I laughed a lot when I realized I was able to cast while being hit haha xD
But anyway, I think in it’s way GW2 pvp is good. They should change the requisites to participate in tournaments tho, right now I think it is too easy to join frees and too hard to join paids.
If for best class you mean those that are better at getting points the answer is the ones with good mobility. Guardian can do good dps while having also good mobility. Necromancer is good, when I used to do hotjoins with my necro I was ending top score and by far but for this purpose I think Scepter/dagger is better than DD and I would change one of the utilities to Spectral walk to move fast between bases since capping bases is what will give you most of the points in many cases. It’s not fun at all but if the purpose is to farm glory, running from base to base + aoe damage is the best.
So pick a class that does good aoe damage and has good access to swiftness and/or other abilities to move fast.
PS: This is ofc for hotjoins. If you go for free tournaments please don’t do that.

I still have hope but it’s fading quickly. I completely agree with you.
I don’t think duels are important tbh.. Also, there is a way to duel if you want to, just join an empty room with the guys you want to duel.
I agree on the other things.
As others already told you, the character you use in spvp is the same you use in pve and wvw. Believe me, I’m one of those who loves his characters and if I had to play a random characters instead of my own I wouldn’t be playing spvp.
You say you dislike pve, but then you say you also dislike spvp which gives you the possibility to completely avoid the pve since you can do spvp from level 1.. I don’t get it.
I hate pve on every game. If, in order to do spvp, I had to farm gear in pve I wouldn’t be playing gw2.
I don’t think the order of the ingredients matters. I think the problem is that if you read the guide on guildwars2gurus.com you can get a little bit confused because it says:
Arcane Sliver = “Bone” theme (Shaman/Tusked/Antler/Fanged Sword/Macabre Pistol), Ivory (shortbow), Fiery Gladius Sword
What you can craft with tiger tokens is exactly what you have been crafting.
The “real” Bone staff (the one with this name) has not been discovered yet in spvp. As far as I know no one has it yet, which means it is probably rank 60+.
If I get it right, you want tournament tickets to be easier to craft and I agree with you on this. But, why swapping 8 orbs with 25 powder when they are both really easy to get? On my account I think I have like 1.5k powder but I’m pretty sure I also have (I can’t log in to check atm) more than 500 orbs so for me (and I think on average ppl are in the same situation) changing 8 orbs to 25 powder wouldn’t change much, it would be almost the same as it is now. What should be changed are the crystals and slivers, these are way way harder to get than orbs and powder. For example, while I have 1.5k powder and 500 orbs I only have like 60-70 slivers and about the same amount of crystals.

They are cute and I like small characters in general.
In pvp they are harder to target since they are small, also their animations are harder to see for the enemy making it a bit easier to land some skills. One that comes to mind right now is the guardian knockback on hammer.
I already knew about it and yeah I think it is unfinished too. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!!!!
At this point I’m starting to think you are trolling, sorry.
1) I never saw a DD ele killing someone in 4 seconds, especially if they also have to keep the enemy perma CC’ed.
2) Since we are taking ele as an example: No, chaining 3 CCs is not easy, unless ofc they are hitting dummies in Heart of the Mists. Also, many DD eles, especially in hotjoins and frees often open always with the same move which makes them very predictable and easy to counter.
Ok, I’ll give a serious answer now. I have been playing since day 1, I play every day, usually many hours a day and I only do spvp, mostly free tournaments, some paids if I’m lucky enough to find a good party. In 4 months I never felt like being perma CC’ed. I also watch many top players streams and I never see someone perma CC’ed unless enemies focus on one target and correctly time their CCs which I think it’s fine since it takes effort from more than one player and even in this case it’s not like they can CC you forever. I played Dark age of camelot for many years and the pvp was great. It had immunities to CC, like if you was rooted then you couldn’t be rooted again for some time but the CCs on DAoC were way way longer than they are on GW2 so that immunity made sense. On GW2 CCs are relatively short and I really don’t see the necessity to put immunities to them.
It’s true some classes have easier access to stability but again, I think it’s normal. You usally invest in stability if you need it to properly fill your role, which usually is holding a point. A player who invests in stability, probably misses something else that some others have, it’s a matter of what and how you play, imo.
I see a bit of confusions: stuns and roots are not the same and I don’t think you can stunbreak out of roots. I think the annoying roots you are referring to are the ranger elite.. those are really annoying but they are an elite, they are meant to be powerfull like other elites are.
I’m not going to talk about p/p thief because I don’t like thieves and I don’t know well how the class works. Also, I don’t see many p/p thieves.
A coincidence just happened, while writing this I’m watching a guy streaming, a good player in a good team and he just complimented with his team mates for the nice chain CC. So yeah, chaining CC is possible but it’s nothing like being perma CC’ed forever and players have to cooperate to achieve it. Also, you are not alone, you can and should get help from your team mates who can give stability, buffs, auras, CC the enemies, peel you and support you in many ways.
