Ascended weapons look so dang plain we spend so much time making them they should at least stand out among a group. Im sure a particle effect according to the color on them shouldn’t be to hard to add.

I’m glad you posted this here. Now I can go more in-depth about what is fundamentally wrong with this build. I’m more of a PvP/WvW player so I’m just going to talk about that. I’ll let foofad, Brutaly, or Guanglai Kangyi talk about PvE if they wish.

So right off the bat first thing wrong is you have no sustained at all. In the current meta guards have to have this. This is achieved with either AH, MF, or a x/x/x/30/30 build or something similar to that.

Next, very few to no condition removers. You have purity and purging flames. Again the meta is extremely based on condition atm. Necros, spirits rangers, and engies. This plus the fact that you have no sustain. You’re dead weight.

This build doesn’t bring anything to the table at all. No to very little support, and your damage is going to be subpar. Burning builds have been discussed so many times on this board. When it comes down to it direct damage>burning when it comes to Guards.

So you can’t bunker
You can’t support
You can’t even burst anyone with this damage set up.

Overall you’re dead weight and I wouldn’t want you on my team. I know this probably sounds harsh, but this build is subpar. If you’re serious about a condition build you should probably read through this thread.

Thank you for posting this I had no clue Condition build were so complicated I found this one: Table 5: Sample Builds
Full DPS build autoattack damage (sword): 3299 DPS
Sample Build #1: Trogdor the Booninator
Single target autoattack DPS: 2239
+80% General Boon duration, 100% Might duration for double Empower time
+Permeating Wrath and Whirling Wrath synergy for lots of AoE burns
+Above average damage; not quite top tier, but still respectable
+Higher mitigation than at first glance; Judgement worth ~280 Toughness
+Greatsword Power now includes Zealous Blade; 1050 HP return on 5 target WW
-No Burning duration beyond Zeal, no double passive Justice
Gameplay notes:
Swap weapons on cooldown, fire off Empower every single chance you get. This build has insane Might stacking. The additional Might improves your condition damage as well, causing respectable AOE burning damage when buffed up. Vulnerable to higher Condition damage characters with burning taking priority. Empower and Greatsword Power help supplement your survivability as well with heals.

What do you think of it, and is there anything I could improve on it, I mostly pve but occasionally pvp.

+1 I agree about the terrible skins, but do you have proof you crafted it for all we know it could just be a drop from a chest?

I have over 2k hours on guardian and been in the top 50 for tpvp many of times. So I like to think I know what I’m talking about when it comes to Guards. Just by looking at your build and stats I can to tell it’s inefficient and subpar. If you don’t believe me post it in the Guard section, and see the comments you get about it.

you don’t need all that, I only have 250 hours on my guard and even I can see:
> trait for faster torch skills recharge
no torch equipped
> meditations recharge faster
no meditations
> runes only useful for torment
only access to torment is over healing skills, which only #6 counts unless they’ve changed it – also, he can only heal every 30 seconds (he could’ve improved signets, gone for the signet heal every 32 seconds with nearly double the healing).

Hate to be a debbie downer, but condition builds for guardian are subpar. You linking your stats and build further proves my point.

Nice job on the sword though.

No one has ever seen this build in action I made it from scratch so how would you possibly know that it is “subpar” I wreck in pvp and never die in pve while still having a great dps!

Still they’re small. Your image that contains 3 screenshots is 683 by 1151 pixels and that means everything is unreadable. An image containing 3 screenshots should be 1920 by 3240 (if you have a 1080p screen).

Had a friend who made the zerker greatsword about 2 hours before u. He linked it to me and it was time stamped, but I didn’t think to take a picture.

He’s gotta have some sort of proof plus I made it 4 hours ago. Also its possible he got it as a drop from fractals.

I forgot to screen shot the weaponsmith dialog since ive been up for 3 days straight I did however scroll up and screen shot the mats I posted in the chat, I didn’t know I was being interrogated, im SURE someone from Anet can verify the authenticity of my claim. Also im running a guardian condition burn build also I love the skin <3. Also I purchased all mats that were buy-able except for the ones for the vision crystal. Also I don’t think anyone can link the mats to craft it

What i was asking is: there is a method to craft more than 1 ecto refine per day?
from what i saw 3 are needed for the inscription and more or less 5-6 are needed for the blade+hilt … so it’s something like 9daily ecto refinement.
How did you manage to do them in 3 days ?
Are blade+hilt sellables?

That’s without buying stuff off the AH. While several of the mats are time-gated and account bound, the material you make out of them isn’t bound, from what I understand.

Also, the timegate (if you don’t buy, but craft them on your own) is not 2 weeks, but rather 5 to 8 days depending on the weapon type.

Now, while those are farmable, if you play normally, getting the mats for a vision crystal can take you 2 weeks – or likely more.

The hardest part for me was farming World events since I always manage to get to a event to late giving me 5 dragonite ore, although doing Cof 35 or so times was pretty exhausting to lol

We have been needing account bound items for a long time this is the first of many so you better get used to it

im worried because I dont want to loose out on rares and exotics from the loot table

I have 700 boxes saved and im waiting till after the patch to open them so I can get tier 6 items and for salvaging the greens and blues for essence of luck is this a good idea or well they be nerfed?

Having weapon dyes on everything but legendary’s should be a no brainer lol

These were some of my favorite features in Gw1 please bring them back

Lets not forget guys GW1 also had the option to dye weapons so you could change those gem colors to whatever you wanted!

+1 After making a guardian norm I found out that if I make my character fat weapons and shoulder become huge making them look so much more appealing. I cant imagine that adding a appearance changer would be hard to implement. It seems all parts of the community agree this should be added and close to the top on priority. It would be great to have some more news from Arenanet on this feature!
