Don’t tell them to show respect when they were the ones organizing everything, paying for food, etc. I don’t know what was said or not said in map chat, but I don’t see the problem with guild and voice comm taking priority when it comes to something like this.

I wanted to join them for a serious attempt and got on TS as soon as I logged into GW2. I’m not even a BG native or [Att] member. I’m just some random person from a world that gave up on the type of content I enjoy. If I could figure out where I needed to be in order to participate in a serious attempt, why couldn’t the 50 people that were left behind on BG?

Everyone did great, but I’d like to say thanks to [Att] for organizing everything and leading us to victory! Being there for a win after all those attempts felt awesome even if I got straight up trash from the chest.

(That first time feeling only happens once. Just putting that out there, Anet. *coughs*)

I don’t think anyone “exploited” this bug on purpose considering it was unknown to everyone before this and Anet has been present for a lot of wurm raids. Not to mention nobody even knows how wurm aggro even works at this point.

I’m wondering how long this bug has been around because I’ll be really upset if that kill was only from a bug. It would be a real shame is all the firsts were because of this bug from what I hear all the kills have at least one wurm head escaping.

Tonight there were 3 kills with plenty of time to spare. Two of those were back to back by the same group of people. That doesn’t sound like an accident to me.

Listen, I enjoy seeing people gush whenever I whip out my mini during a fractal or whatever, but I think this is a good idea. It gives the collectors that were unable to attend the events a chance to get their hands on them. Spending $50 on 4000 gems, the mini, and a backpack isn’t a horrible deal in my opinion.

Another from Yak’s Bend here and I’m having the same problem. For whatever it’s worth, same results when guesting to other worlds.

Idling in game isn’t against the rules and it would be silly if it was. Stepping away from the keyboard and having a program (bot, macro, etc.) perform actions or play the game for you is a different story. The people who claim they were banned or suspended because of inactivity probably weren’t telling everything. I doubt the reason that popped up said it was due to inactivity.

What you’re talking about is a false positive and Anet is usually pretty good about correcting their mistake… assuming it really was a false positive. A lot of people lie or omit details when making “I got banned and didn’t do anything wrong!” posts. We should take most of the stuff people say with a grain of salt when it comes to bans and suspensions.

There’s a difference between getting banned while idle and getting banned for idling. I think that’s what the person I responded to could have been mixing up.

Were those 40 still in your possession when you deposited the 9 new ones or did you sell a few of them? The achievement won’t advance unless you still have all of them. On the upside, you can skip one of the exotics because you only need 54 and the risen priest of balthazar counts.

I find it hard to believe Anet would suspend people for an hour or two and then give them the heroic edition rewards after they lifted it. Is there any proof? Sounds more like someone is trolling.

It crashed two people, me and the person I whispered. And this person was in a party with a ANet employee at the time, and that person then told them about it. But I got the same punishment as the people who were using it to troll Teq, LA, sPvP and manipulate WvW.

Did you already have a mark on your account for something? Trying to wrap my head around how someone else got 72 hours and you got 2 weeks after sending a whisper to a friend.

This is what was said by someone from Anet (Chris Cleary) a few minutes ago:

“Using this is a good way to get your account banned, I will be watching.
“Testing” this is not going to be a valid excuse to get your account unbanned."

I’m not linking to the source since I think it still contains the code right now. :/

Edit: STOP TESTING IT!!! They know about it and there is a fix on the way! Do NOT “test” the code if you value your account.

Seems like someone got hold of mr sparkles codes before arena net gave them out and is now selling them on ebay. Which is why they are coming up already in use, they have been sold off..

One person reported having a used code. That person was me and the issue was resolved yesterday. Please don’t make it sound as if hundreds of people had used codes since it doesn’t appear to be the truth at all. I agree that there are 500 reasons why someone might be tempted to take a code, but that’s not the only plausible explanation. Try to have an open mind.

Many people reported having codes that weren’t working. I believe they got the same generic error I did. Anet is aware of the problem and they are looking into it. Support has been manually applying the codes for people who send tickets.

There are a ton of codes for sale on Ebay because a ton of codes were given out at the anniversary bash.

Yay! Gaile got around to posting! Wouldn’t removing the region blocks be the easiest way to fix that issue or is there a specific reason why NA and EU need their own codes?

Another little update about my situation…
Nubcake and Mr. Sparkles were finally united last night! She looks like the minipet when standing next to him and I love it!

Also, it seems like what happened to me wasn’t common at all. The supervisor handling my case said I was the only one reporting a used code from the event (so far) and how I ended up with it is still a mystery. Maybe that information will put a few minds at ease.

Nubcake and Mr. Sparkles will be be together soon! I have no idea what caused this problem, but it’s finally resolved. Good luck to anyone else out there who might be experiencing the same thing! Hopefully you will also get good news in the near future!

I submitted a ticket on Saturday and it hasn’t been resolved yet. They were very good about responding despite the fact it was a holiday weekend, but I haven’t heard anything since Monday.

They goofed and the codes are region locked. Attempting to redeem on one a NA account will give an error. Support will fix you up if you contact them.

Something tells me they didn’t print duplicate codes since I seem to be the only person that has come forward on the forums with a used code so far. People are usually pretty vocal about that sort of stuff.

Thanks! So far it’s been about 24 hours since I last updated my ticket and no response yet. I’m trying to be patient and optimistic even if they have crushed me with every single response so far. *crosses fingers and toes*

The problem with banning people based on IPs is that people from all over the world attend these events. They can’t see who is selling codes on Ebay. They don’t know someone bought a code or attended an event. What about people that were given the codes by friends and family as gifts? Should they be banned as well?

The fact people are selling the codes on Ebay for insane amounts of cash disgusts me, but I don’t think there’s much Anet can do about it besides stop distributing in-game items like this.

I can confirm that this is the case with purple (orchid) ribbons as well. The inside used to be sort of pink/purple and now they are yellowish like the other two posters described.

Support has been activating the codes for players with NA accounts. All they have to do is submit a ticket with the code I think.

I just got a response from a supervisor about my code. It was in fact activated by someone else several days before the event. That’s right! A code printed on a card that my boyfriend got Saturday was redeemed several days BEFORE the event. They are still telling me that they are sorry about being unable to assist me in the manner in which I hoped.

You would think they had a few extra codes lying around in case issues like this arise, but they are giving the impression that there aren’t any. Unbelievable. I’m actually in tears over this.

I hope karma gets whoever used my code.

I can’t really explain why I enjoy collecting minis. I just do. Friends have picked on me about it and said it’s probably a good thing that I never got into Pokemon since it probably would have been the end of me.

I actually parted with most of my series 1 minis recently so I could afford some other stuff. Those are pretty easy to reacquire later and I already have the title. The special edition ones are a different story and that’s why I’m upset about the situation with my code.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, my situation is a little more complicated since the first agent to respond to my ticket said the code had already been redeemed.

A picture of the card was sent with the ticket, but I’m totally willing to send my boyfriend to Bellevue with his pictures, swag, and super manly hot pink wristband if that’s what it takes to resolve this. :P (He’s going to kick my butt if he reads this!)

Update: A player contacted me in game to tell me people were having a similar issue when trying to use the codes from Gamescom on NA accounts. (Mine came from the event in Seattle and my account is NA.) I was in the process of bringing that up with support when they updated my ticket to let me know that my code had actually been used by someone else. Now I’m in the process of trying to get them to make things right since my code was a dud.

Hopefully this was an isolated incident!

I’m having the SAME issue with the code I received last night at the Anniversary Bash. Sucks that it’s not an isolated incident, but I do have to admit that I’m somewhat relieved that I’m not alone in experiencing this issue. :-/

EDIT – I received a response from customer service that it turns out the code I received at the Anniversary Bash was a region-locked EU code and that they will have to apply the serial code manually in order to get it onto my account. Strawberry, let customer service know that there are people at the Seattle event that got EU codes, send them the serial number that you received at the event, and tell them what account you want it applied to and they should be able to help (I found it helpful to include a link to your post indicating others are having the problem, feel free to provide them a link to my post).

I also updated my ticket when I stumbled across it to let them know that others were also getting an error when trying to redeem their codes. They still refuse to help me since they are convinced my code has already been used.

I’m noticing that I seem to be the only one getting this response, so maybe my code really was activated by someone else or support made a mistake and my ticket has a scarlet letter on it as a result? Either way, it wasn’t used by me or my boyfriend. As far as we know, the only people that had access to that particular code were the two of us and Anet staff. I can say with 100% certainty that we didn’t activate it… so who did? :/

I’ll probably try to get Gaile’s attention on Tuesday if support keeps telling me there isn’t anything they can do. Assuming they are correct about the code being activated, that means someone essentially stole my miniature. This is beyond frustrating and hearing that there isn’t anything that can be done is disheartening.

I guess that means I’m boned since support still seems convinced that my code has already been activated. I want to know who activates a code and then throws the card back into the pile to be distributed at an event. That’s pretty low. :/

I sent a picture of the card with mine and you see where that got me. I even asked them to check both of our accounts to verify that the code wasn’t redeemed by either of us. None of that seemed to make a difference.

The fact it’s a holiday weekend means we probably won’t be able to get Gaile’s attention until Tuesday.

mr sparkles codes are being sold on ebay for a lot and im guessing someone got access to the codes before Anet gave them out and is using them to sell on ebay.

I would be lying if said that wasn’t one of the first things that came to mind since I saw one sell for $700 the other day and a couple for around $500 last night. That would be a pretty scummy thing to do and I hope that’s not what actually happened.

It seems more likely that there’s a problem with their code redemption system. I’m hoping that’s what it is so there might be a happy ending for me and everyone else struggling with their codes right now. This would also allow me to hang onto the last shreds of faith in humanity I have left.

Did any of you get a response from support? I’m curious about what others are being told.

The listed forum post is in regards to not being able to apply the code to an account. In the event that the code is not used and a player is having trouble with redeeming the code we can certainly help. This is complete bullcrap! My code wasn’t acquired from some shady source and I’m 100% sure it was NOT used since it came from a bag handed out at the event yesterday. I was the only person to attempt using it and I got the same exact error everyone in this thread got. Now they are telling me they won’t help me. WTF man? This is leaving a really sour taste in my mouth.

I’m an honest person and someone very close to me, who attended the event from start to finish, was how I acquired my code. I had no plans to sell the kitten thing even though I could definitely use the money. I just wanted it for my collection and that’s why he gave me the code instead of using it himself.

I feel like the unluckiest person on the planet right now.

Uhhhh… It takes more than a month to craft a full set of celestial armor and weapons. People actually crafted this set just for the MF? Seriously? Explorer took far less time to craft and rares were even easier if MF was the only stat you cared about. I think my brain just melted.

The only issue for me is that they are removing something from this set rather than replacing it with something else. Boon duration or something else like that would have been great.

I find it a bit sad that nobody from Anet has bothered to chime in. You would think the amount of money someone actually paid for that mini would get some sort of response out of them.

You need to have all of them in your possession to get the achievement.

There are actually 5 exotics in the first set… oakheart, jack-a-lop, undead chicken, orrian wraith, and krait witch. I believe the risen priest of balthazar is also needed, but he comes from the jewelry boxes sold by karma vendors in orr.

Hmmm…when I tested it, it worked on myself but I didn’t test it with wounded allies near me. However, the heal amount is ridiculously low even with healing power. I had ~1.45k healing power and the sigil healed me for a whopping 529 health.

Is it safe to assume you weren’t using an elementalist to test this? There have been several reports of this sigil not working at all with elemental attuenments and that appears to be what the OP is talking about. Every other “on weapon swap” sigil works fine.

You think 529 is unimpressive? We’re healing for 0.

You’re definitely not the first person to report this and the other threads didn’t get responses from Anet either. Some of us are on the fence about purchasing the recipe or sigil because we want it for our eles and don’t know if it’s working as intended or a bug. Hopefully it’s a bug they plan to fix.

I know it’s frustrating and you probably don’t feel like you should have to do this, but try guesting. Every world isn’t as bad as what you’re describing. I consider that similar to changing channels in other MMOs when the areas were too crowded to accomplish anything.

I’ve been having this problem off and on over the past few months and even contacted support about it a while back. They didn’t mention if anything was out of the ordinary after I sent all the files they requested. The problem seemed to clear up for a short period of time before it came back with a vengeance about 2 months ago. Maybe it was longer than 2 months… it’s hard to remember. It’s been going on for a while.

I recently reformatted, reinstalled the game, changed every setting imaginable, etc. The only thing that seems to solve the problem is to NOT play the game. I spent the past week or so taking a break from GW2 because getting disconnected constantly wasn’t fun.

I have played several other games online during my little vacation and my internet has been perfectly stable. I’m 99.9% sure that it will start dropping again if I decide to do something besides my dailies. It would be nice to be able to do fractals again without my internet randomly dropping every time a boss is about to die. That got old real fast!

Suddenlink is my ISP and they can’t find a problem either.

It’s only unstable while playing GW2! What the deuce??
