Last week, right after the patchs I did a couple of unranked game.
I was on a troll mode so I ran Support Guard with Signet of Mercy, just for the lols.
In a Game on Forest of Nifhael, we were holding far in a 3cap, killing ppl at the home respawn after respawn in a 2vX.
So my team mate goes down(Arken), I was waiting for that the entire game just to pop Signet of Mercy to rez him. Then Arken told me, your such a troll
Good time that was..

Now, with mender it’s only 3. Druid, Scrapper and Guard.
Mender is not even a healer amulet. 560 healing power means not that much. Why using that instead of Paladin? At least you could crits and kill faster while still giving Aegis, block, regens, protection…
Guild Wars 1 : Monk… well yes, but many did dual classes Monk with Warrior to get more “hit”. We can’t dual classes in Gw2.
Since all other do, ammy are a patch, to fix or conceal the real problem. They where not able to balanced all the skills scaling with attribute properly. They do balanced based on feeling… while other company made system of simulation (
operational research —> basic math learn at the university) and analyse the data to balanced things up.tl;dr Mender is probably fine for guadian, but it’s not a proven META. The best comp stack 5 bruisers to win since [RIP] enter the scene with the bruisers comp. It was easy to build for support before, now for most of the classes it’s pointless. Build diversities just got 30% deleted (again).
@Jourdelune.
- Monk had to dual class with warrior for the stances ( bonneti etc).
Not to give em toughness, only the shield set was giving armor on stats(thats why you had 4 weapon swap).
Menders are actually:
+1050 Power
+560 Precision
+560 Vitality
+1050 Healing Powe
So I dont see where you got your 560 healing power..
It has been proven MeTa in the past Seasons and there is a support wich is Druid.
I gues you are wrong on this one..
But you are right that Bguad was taking out cause D/D ele bring much more to the table and it is still the same nowdays for Support Dh/Guard we get outshine by druid and engi.
I ran this build for a while even before the patch. Having Fragments of Faith twice is a bit redundant IMO. Here’s my variant:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNApeWn8cCdDhVdCWDB8DhlGiSe4T+nHrAigu8aYXgAA-TZxGAB2XGg8DBwQ7Pk7JAAgnAAAOh btw, the marauder build is awesome, very good for soloQ. I would go with the bruiser build when a bit more organized such as when duoing.
- The thing is w/ Frag O’faith, you have way more Sustain + brk stun. Ohh and you have a stability that you can rely on for stomps/rez or cc chain… For the support role FoF is way better.
But Id recommend to play a Marauder Scepter/focus+Sword shield. If your team already have support.

Magi amulet is not good for any classes.
No damage at all.
Remember cleric bunker guard in 2013?
It goes off meta in April 2014 because dd ele was able to support/cleanse more the group than B. Guard, with more damage.
Magi amulet is like old B.Guard. Bot enough damage in spvp means your 1v1 or 2v2 need a +1 to be viable. This means you are -1 elsewhere.
You can only achieve this with a bad two point stats with 2 really fast immortal squishies dps roamer.
Mender is a bit better for damage, but the sustain is quite low.
Not really, Ill explain my POV on Bunker Guard/DH.
- Menders:
- We apply more pressure in teamfights (cause the critchance), we are better vs condition(cause of healthpool), the healing power dsnt matter that much since theres barely a difference between those 2. Now we are weak to big burst if out of cD. (If a thief + Rev spike you)
- Magi:
- Alots of Crit chance, but no power. (good for sigils, but uber bad pressure)
Nice vitality wich makes you better vs conditions. The healing power dsnt matter much since the difference is really not that big. Same Sustain has menders rune and same weakness. Overall bring less on the table.
- Cleric:
- No crit chance but same power( less pressure in TF), We were a better fit vs Zerker build/comp. The healing power dsnt matter at all, since the difference between those 2 are way 2 small to be important. The weakness of cleric was conditions spam cause of low healthpool.
Overall the skillcap to play Support class’s ( Cause bunker is dead) is higher.
And it feels way more rewarding playing a support class this way & in Guildwars 1, Monks were super squissh. Actually as far as I remember, in everygame the healer is always squish.
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
@ Verezenem, Yes it is.
But since the update, alot of Medi/trap DH run with Sword/Shield +Scepter/Focus.
- Meh I was just saying on Bunker Dh why/when I use Scepter or Sword.
It’s kinda hard to swap to toon to make decent comp if the DH of this world don’t answer when I ask if they play bunker or dps.
I got a great player on that one, who speak french anyway.
So, I did swap my mesmer bunker to a scrapper… safer for the comp, since we had 1 bunker guard, 1 dps (that never answer) that was roaming on map so I can’t see his weapon.
Even, some bunker play sword now, go figure.
- Sword on Bunker Dh, is mostly use for mobility. You can see it more in Kylo.
- I use Scepter on Legacy, if my team has enough dps. I can time some CC+imobs on their burst.
I really wonder who is the guy that you are talking about & what is the link between him and your post. :P

@ Kuya,
With the way you want to go, I feel that Staff ( even if its clutch) bring more to the table compared to Mace/shield + X/Focus. The outgoing healing effectivenes wont be as good..
Used a modified bunker build trying to max out healing effectiveness to other allies.
On self, the dodge rolls heal for 1,8k, and aeigis heals for 1.5k. On allies, these heal for about 2k. Has 29% outgoing heal effectiveness for allies. When blocking and on shield you get a bonus 490 toughness which i feel makes some difference. I was apprehensive about taking invigorating bulwark over protective reviver but with mace/shield and fragment of faith you can quickly get 10 stacks, and the bonus to healing is very noticeable on dodging, and even more so on allies. Your wings of resolve, for example, will heal allies for about 8k and you can use shield 5 to simulate the trait. Taking test of faith and fragments of faith is preferable for interrupting stomps.
You guys try it out and let me know what you think. I would love to see guards running bunks and bruisers to see how well they synergize together.
- Great Idea for ‘’Invigorated Bulwak’’ Instand of ‘’Protective reviver’’, few things I would change is Sigils on weapon and 1 trait in Valor line. I am hype to test the Invig Bulwak tho.
-Sigils:
- Sigil of renewal instand of Leeching on both weapon. Better sustain+ works great w/outgoing heal effectiveness.
-Trait:
- ‘’Monk Focus’’ instand of ‘’Retrbutive Armor’’ : Gives you better self-sustain, condi cleanse, pressure and synergise way better with purification.
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
1. Staff & Hammer re-worked
2. Signet Buffs/Changes
3. Traits re-worked ( Zeal, Radiance and few minor/major/master)
Trap stays on, until you use the same trap or it ge trigger. I feel that it is the mechanic of traps since release.
I just dropped this build on Metabattle.
I think it’s great personally, but I want to see what you guys think. I don’t think we need JI anymore.
How do I add it to the Guardian section?
Okay, so my POV on your build;
- I wouldnt go for the trait ‘’ Focus Mastery’’ in valor line.
Since Smiter’s boon w/ purification is way better and you dont need the lower cd, neither the protection.
- I would not pick the trait ‘’Retaliatory Subconscious’’ in the virtue line. Because last time I test’ed it, it did not synergise well with the trait ‘’ hunter Fortification’’ from the DH line.
Correct me if I am wrong, but when you’ll get CC, both of your passive traits will go on Cd and the effect wont stack. Wich resolve in a Aegis loss aka a waste of a trait.
- The Rest seems fine.
Smite condi + JI + ToF is what I tried running yesterday on hambow. It’s extremely strong vs. other power builds, and can hold its own vs. hybrids but has a lot of trouble vs. a condi necro on your tail & literally any other +1. Classes like condi necro and war which can reapply condi bursts repeatedly are pretty problematic unless you run CoP.
So if you’re facing a comp with at least 1 strong condi build, I think CoP + JI + ToF is a good middle ground between damage and sustain.
- That’s seems legit hehe.
What do you think of the other builds, like the Bunker/Support ?
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Haha, I hadn’t actually thought of running hambow without smite condi. This looks like an interesting build, and on paper looks viable. You rely a lot more on bow to dps, then hammer for a killshot burst (and the burst really doesn’t rely on smite condi at all in the first place). Only problem is I doubt this build would sustain for very long in a 1v1 or 1vX unless you hit the burst reliably. Build looks like it would be a very strong +1er/mid fighter though.
Kudos for the builds!
- You can always swap CoP for Smite Condition, just forgot to mention it.
About the Healway build, Purification might be a better choice simply because receive the light is a bit clumsy to use (allies can dodge it) and you will go down if you get focused
Also since you are using Shield you might want to consider going Heavy Light since you get stability from Shield #5 and possibly stability from Protective Reviver (haven’t tested) when you knock enemies back. You also get stability if your Sanctuary knocks anyone back.
It is only 1 stack with 10s icd howeverGood point!
- I dont think that it’s a good idea. Doing that will be a big loss, since you already have enough stab( FragOfaith) and the trait “HunterFortification” synergize way better with your blocks(aegis etc).
This is what I Think will be good on Guardian/Dh for the next season.
Great

- You Can swap out CoP for Smite condition + I really like this build, hammer always been fun to play and its been a while since we saw in Pvp. Theres really good plays that can be made ( like Banish+Ji stomp, Ji+Ring, SpearOJustice(pull)+ring, etc.)

- I love this build, its remind me of old time. But there is less AOE cleanses, if your team fight against a heavy condi comp theres nothing much you can do.
- [Shout DHunter](http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNApeWn8cClCh97AeDB8DhlGi6aYXgAAbCigQQe4T+nH-TZRIABdfIAgvMAAnAgZfCA4s/AA)
- You can swap ’’Retreat’’ with ‘’Hold the line’’ for better protection uptime. This build has more AOE Cleanse, but a bit less of peeling and self sustain. Good if your team is facing alot of conditions.

For the last season I did not play Dh, I played Druid, Thief and Warrior.
( Got Legendary SoloQ with avg off 75% w/l on Na and 87% on Eu.)
*****************************************************************
So for the next season, I will probably play Bunker/Support Dh.
- Cleric, Dh Bunker:

P.S. ( I know that Ele and druid bring much more work to the table, but Guardian always been and will always be my fav proffession..)
Feel free to add your toughts on the build.

remember when you had to save dodges for important things and those important things actually had CDs/high costs
- +1, gosh i miss when it was a thing to cancel an animation to force dodge, cause dodges were the thing.
I Remember:
- Free n paid tournament with Gems loterry
- When Backstab thief could hit 10k+ in pvp
- Qp Leaderboards
- Davinci’s Shout/Cleric hammer build on guardian ( scepter/shield + hammer)
- When sanctuary was use as a clutch skill
- When D/P thief w/ cruuk gameplay was born
- So much more to say Q.Q

- No, its dsnt make sense..
You are comparing a signet with passive effects that fully revive a team mate when you activate it Vs a shout that ports a down allies, no instant rez.
( and theres counterplays for SnR)This is mostly a L2p issue, watch where the druid is going, keep your cd’s up for CC and cleave.
L2p issue is when you see the druid that is about to SnR and you won’t be able to stop him. I don’t think I need to say more than that here.
However if you cannot teleport to / target the druid because he just came back/ camps khylo roof and he’s using SnR on a downed team mate who you were about to stomp, it’s a different story I believe.
- Players should always have an eye on the timer for respawn, watch the map for rotation awareness and at all time you should know or atleast have an idea wheres the 5 man of the ennemie team is rotating if you dont then it is still a L2P issue..
No offence, this is just my POV..
I never had any problem with SnR and if I watch the pro leagues, neither they do.. (seen some amazing blink stomps on Ele from EU and balls deep CC n Cleave from NA)
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Needs a 120sec + cd.
You want to give it a longer cd then most elites….yeah that makes sense..0.o
Makes perfect sense: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Mercy

- I would really like to see the system off free/paid tournament coming back to the game. If they do that, they can keep unrank like it is, keep rank but only solo/duo Q.
For the tournament they can keep the top teams leaderboard for challenger cup/pro leagues. Keep the old mechanics/system (3yrs+ ago) of the 3 maps rotation, entry fees and price pool. ( gold trim cape, pips , gold, tickets for pvp legendary rewards etc)
+1 for the post, Anet should really consider this.
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
- On your build you are still using double Sigil of Energy, I feel that Vigorious Precision + 1 Sigil of Energy is enough for your Vigor uptime..
Maybe you could swap it for Leeching or Renewal?
This type of sustain is PERFECT because it means the guard MUST work on keeping teammates living and healthy in order to gain and keep his sustain in the fight, not just build a CRAZY tanky build meant for 1v3ing after the fight is supposed to be “lost” until the teammates rez and come back. It also means you cannot leave a bunker guard to watch a point, they have a specific purpose and specific rotations that are all healthy for fun and interesting gameplay..
- +1, Have to agree w/OPN, since stacking 2 of em dsnt work and never worked, rotation/positionnement/kiting and not wasting CD’S are the key to success..
I really hope we can see Support Guard/DH coming back to the meta.
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
+1
Would really want to see Support Guard back on track..
Ehllo Frands ,
Since the recent patch, with the removal of certain amulets and the ’ Bunker Meta ’ . I would like to share 2 builds that I theory craft for Guardian Support ..
The reason why I would go for specialization DH , is that I find it provides a much more active gameplay. With new Virtues there are more clutch plays that can be done and the CD is much shorter…
Example: F1 ( spear of justice ) Can create opening for a burst .
F2 ( Wings of Resolve ) offers a bigger peels that VoR and better kiting .
F3 ( Shield of Courage ) allows to bodyblock properly ..
Here are two builds I test right now and I ’d like your POV :
( Cleric / Menders amulets are subject to change depending on the comp of the opposing team )
- Menders or Clerics :
Staff+Mace/Shield or Focus
- Menders :
In memory of Davinci
Please note that the traits can be change if you use the focus has instead of the shield, you can still use the mace in place of the scepter to the build with the hammer, the trait ‘Dulled Sense’ offer better kiting overtime vs Soaring Devastation or Piercing light, but that’s just preference.
Ohh I almost forgot I didnt choose the tree line of Virtues cause I feel it dsnt synergize that well compared to some other traits and fragment of faith ( passive traits) is just so strong.
P.S. I know the amulet are not on the website yet
Thanks for you feedbacks
Best Regards

Hello Friands,
It’s certainly amusing that the most iconic guardian – Logan Thackeray – uses a sword and shield combo. He may be the only guardian on any given map who does.
- I use Sword/Shield on 1 Map only, Wich is Battle of Khylo…
Shield #5 is completely countered by a team with Stability. If the Knockback effect misses due to blinds, blocks, or stability then #5 is worthless.
- Dont try to land cc if you see they have stab on, even if there is stability you can use the detonation has a peel( 1.5k ish) or to reflect incoming projectile but must be clutch cause you cant rely on the reflect much..
Focus Mastery trait offers twice the Protect up time than Shield #4 does… kind of sad really.
- Yes, but your protection aint AOE, it is more of a selfish play..
Who ever uses the Shield in competitive PvP is, sadly, under performing himself.
If they remove the immobile channel effect on Shield #5, then the offhand would have some merit to it as it would finally be on par with other offhand weapons (other focus weapons) in the game.
I would even consider using it, given certain situations.
- Not really, depending of the map and comp you will face, shield can shine more than focus + It has more clutch plays..
Dont get me wrong, I do miss the fix they did on the Draw Weap SoA ( When you still had the reflection up)
Overall you should use it to kittener comps and build.
Anyway heres my POV,
I think shield still need a small buff, im not talking about giving it more blocs.
What i think will be balance and a good n nice fix is :
- Shield of Judgment : Create a shielding wave in front of you that damages foes, gives Protection and Aegis or Resistance to yourself and up to five allies.
- Shield of Absorption : Create a dome around you that pushes foes back and absorbs projectiles. Detonate the dome to heal nearby allies and it is a Blast Finisher.
I feel that if Anet make these changes, it will add more synergie to the table.
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Thanks for the input!
Considering i’ll be kiting more than actually staying in place, I hardly ever get the full duration of Swiftness with staff in clutch scenarios.
- Np, you Quoted me before I had time to finish edit haha.
No matter what, you will always be kiting as much with one or the other..
The thing is, do you rather have more Protection or ‘’ an easy acces’’ to Swiftness..
( Protection > Aegis Heal )
I felt Leech offered two things the build is, dmg and sustains.
Smoldering would be good if I had higher F1 burn procs but I wouldn’t trade Energy sigils for a higher PF duration. Dodges are way too important and the aoe heals are a nice additive.
- I would never trade Energy for any other sigil..
You can always get Intelligence (for vigor proc) to replace Leeching, but the thing I wonder is if Smoldering (need to test) scales well with PF and VoJ.
Leeching is a safe 970 Lifesteal on everyweap swap tho..
- What about Geomancy or Doom would they be a good add on for pressure?
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Bunker Burn Variant - heavily revised
This is basically a Settlers vs Cleric threads.
Thought?
Ey Sayen, Ive look at your build and theres few changes I would made to it..
- I would take out Retreat for Hold The Line, cause you want to offer that protection to your team. No need of retreat if its for swiftness, you can use your staff and stack it..
Protection > Aegis Heal.
- I would prolly swap out Leeching Sigil for maybe Smoldering, Renewal or Life.
Not sure yet for the Smoldering (if theres a huge difference on the burning duration) or Life( if the healing power scale is worth it)
- No Shelter, cause you want to use Rf I felt you could grab more peels and theres no passif trait that procs burning on block..
Shelter does negate a huge burst, so it will be by preference or to kittener comp.
Here is a build I would use if I would be playing a Settler Support Guard:
- Settler Support Guard - Sublime POV
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
It’s just you OP. This meta is much better than the meta of bunkers/shoutbow poking each other on point. People actually die in this meta 1v2. The fast pace gameplay (and Vigor need) bring risk to random dodge and reward good timing.
- +1 , this balance actually rewards ppl with good positionement, punish mistake (like ppl who overextend), force more team plays, etc.
I really dont mind mesmer burst I think it is good that way..
I think that what needs to be rework is the ICD between Mantra (when its channeled), only because it is hard to see coming cause of the instant cast and easy access cause of the low ICD ..
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
@sublime we are better but so are the other classes, if aint playing with an organized team the bunker guard wont do any help, gw2 pvp happens to fast.
In my case if i aint with a high damage class i will get reqt for sure.
- Hi Aeolus, any support role been played without a team is quite boring and wont bring much work to the table.
In a perfect scenario your shouldnt be stuck in 1v1s or 1v2 cause any other class could do a better work than you and you could be need somewhere else.
And no pvp isnt that balanced how some say.
- I was talking about a Balance Team Comp( 2 dps(mesmer +thief), Guardian, Ele + w.e) I didnt say that the PvP state was a perfect balance (There is way 2 many broken things) but it is way better than it used to..
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Ey Tesla,
I have to agree with you on ‘’Strenght of the Fallen’’ that might have to be rework to adapt to Conquest pvp mode.. (poison dsnt really affect you if you get rez tho)
But Purity is still part of the trait wich makes it the only viable option to chose if you want to play with a Shield..
If you don’t play using a focus in a bunker build you already have a great loss in competitive..
- This is not true, you should know that you have to twerk your build depending of the Map or comp you will be facing..
Sometime the CC, Prot and peel from the shield can gives more compared to the focus.
But it is very situationnal…
You have tunnel vision cause you die in pvp .. get over dying .. don’t request nerfing of the class to make up for your bad playstyle :/
- I doubt that it is a L2P issue, you obviously dont know Tesla and like I said It is not well designed for the PvP Conquest Mode(Cause of bleed tostagger respawns) theres no nerf been ask just a fix.
But I understand the good between the lines….
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Hi Frands,
Some of you might now me, some others dont…
I used to play competitive a long time ago back when Bunker Guardian was a thing..
Just before getting started on the topic I want to say 1 thing, is theres no more ‘’Bunker Guard’’ only on low tier you will see a Guardian been play has ’’bunker’’, in Higher Tier they considered has support you have to rotate and push team fights for your team instand of just sit on the Node and be stuck in unfair matchup.
The Huge power creeps and not having Cele Engi or heavy Condition application Favor us, we are strong and brave if our rotation are made properly wich means forcing TeamFights and Push 3v3s etc.
As long has we stay in the direction, the support of guardian is in a very good state. Regardless, you will always see some comp made to kittener that ‘’Balance Comp’’ like there always been in every game.

Ey Guys,
(sorry for my english)
Im taking the time to let you know about an exploit with the Revenant.
The exploit is that you can have perma Resistance without any cost of your Energy or CD.
- All you have to do is Draw Weap on Pain Absorption and repeat it, you will be able to stack 20s of resistance and perma hold it..
I found the exploit when i was roaming in WvW on a Zerker Hammer Jallis/Malyx Rev and I got into a 1v2 Vs condi thief and Condi PU Mesmer.
There was so many condition(I had perma imob,17 stack of confusion, bleed poison burning etc) that the 1st time i got Ereckted.
On my way back of the respawn, I was using Draw Weap all skill and I realised that using draw weap on Pain Absorption was giving you Resistance (cause of a trait that give resistence to your demon stances) without any CD or NRJ cost + it was spamable..
Ive stack 20s of resistance (cant stack more), found the condi thief and mesmer and I beat em 1v2 on manny occasion ( cause they were hunting me).
Sorry i have no picture or videos to prove the exploit
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
Ey heres my point of view when I tested it, I have a kind of similar state on the theorycraft..
(sorry for my english)
+1. Marauder Hammer backliner, jalis/mallyx
This one definitely packs the highest single attack damage numbers but is essentially the worst build/weapon for pvp.
This build/weapon is more or less designed to stay at range and freecast on enemy players with auto attacks and skill 2, for a burst you dive in with skill 3 and on impact you switch legend for the explosion above 50% energy.
This works okayish if the enemy team lets you freecast.
The damage is mediocre and the weapon is slow and clunky.
- I have the same results has you do for your test on Marauder Hammer, Dwarf/Malyx.
Except i went for Hydromancy Sigil on weap swap for another proc after the leap.
Positionnment is everything and even tho if you free cast your pressure is not that big cause of it been so slow/predictable.
As soon as the enemy starts to come at you, be it thief or whatever comes your way, it’s over. you don’t have any survivability nor disengages. hammer 5 is way too slow and the animation way too big to serve as a disengage and even then you have no gap closers or swiftness if you don’t land your hammer 5 into your lightning field first which will definitely take too long for a disengage.
Kiting is practically nonexistent here, something that is essential on everything that is ranged.
- In 1v1’s
Thief: I actually had no hard time, if you use malix properly and in a way that you force him to play on Range (SB), adding the right cc at the right time and using your Malix leap when he used Shadow Refuge etc.
D/D Ele, Remove his boon+ chill em at right time and have a good positionnement.
Warrior/Necro 80% in their favor
Mesmer/Guard was impossible for me to kill
Engi were 50/50 didnt fought many of them tho
Cleric staff Ventari/Jalis support
With monk runes and some ventari traits you can get close to 50% outgoing healing which is nice and allowes you to heal allies for 3k+ at the cost of 25% energy.
the problem here is that you yourself are not tanky at all and if they focus you it’s over in an instant. you can maybe stay alive in a 1v1 but of more than 1 players focus you it won’t end well for you.The main problem for this is, you are constantly using your energy for allies to support them so most of the time you won’t be sitting at 100%. if the enemy lands a big burst on you you can heal yourself for maybe 4-5k at best and then your energy is depleted leaving you with nothing. you lack a real heal like for example shelter from guardian which is awesome to negate damage and heal yourself. if you get cced you don’t have a stunbreak in ventari so you need to switch to jalis, a stance that won’t support allies really that much.
What you do in this stance is more or less heal you with your healing skill, kite a bit if possible and block stuff for 2s.If you’re not dead by then you try to get back into ventari to repeat the whole process. usually you are dead though because your only defensive skill is a 2s block on 10s cooldown, no cc appart from the tablet explosion which even has a casting time so you can’t even move it to you while it explodes.
- Pretty much what I have in final, felt like good support but no self substaiN.
Marauder Staff Jalis/Mallyx+
This build is the build i had the most success with during the 3 days of testing. now don’t misunderstand me, it’s still very weak but at least it has potential.
I used the marauder amulet with staff and pack runes, energy hydromancy sigil on the weapon.Retribution 2-3-2
Corruption 1-2-2
Invocation 3-1-1This build actually lets me deal burst damage with staff 5 and weaponswap. i can more or less oneshot the light armor golem every 20 seconds.
After the burst there is almost no damage except from the auto attack that crits for 1k and is dangerous because as mentioned many times, revenant is very squishy.
- I felt the same about Staff, higher burst compared to hammer ( w/the legend swap for procs etc).
But overall i was more confortable playing it with the hammer compared to the Staff on the Rauder version, but i guess that just my preference and playstyle.
Glad this is still a Beta Test on the class because theres alot of things that need to be adjust like Casttime of a majority of skill, Exploit on resistance, etc..

Guardian Support role got removed out of the Meta , simply because of Celestial comps, wich force a 3points strategy with 2v2/1v1 etc..
Theres is not much of Teamfights to push and yes in that case of scenario Guardian Support Lacks in Output pressure (no damage) compared to Shoutbow..
Arken, kinda said why Shoutbow Overcome Guard in this meta..
Shoutbow pretty much completely replaced Bunker Guardian. Their overall conditional cleanses exceed that of a Guardian while also maintaining much higher sustainability, mobility and having above-average dmg output.
Just as Vizard stated, offensive bunkers tend to be favored since they have almost as much mitigation while maintaining significant dmg.
But if you face a 3 Zerker comps, your support Guardian should shine in that scenario because the Zerker Comps are pushing Team Fights and play on 2 points strategy more often and have more dps than celestial comp..
The guardian will not only be better because theres more team fights, but simply cause The support of ’’Bunker’’ Guard gives Protection,Stab, good peels and condi cleanse.
It has Good CC depending of what build you play..
The only thing that is a pain, is the mobility and fair matchups..
- Wich mean you dont want to be stuck in 1v1’s (even if its your point) cause any other class could win the duels and you could be usefull somewhere else.
You need to have a great analyse of Mini Map, Rotation, Positionnement and kiting. The reason why is because you have to force rotation with your Guardian, but good Rotation.. (That means pushing Teamfights or +1 any fight that would need your support)

@Saiyen, not so agree with you we can discuss more in private if you want..
Not to break-off from the build discussion too much, it does make more sense to have it in Zeal since all the minors revolve around symbols.
- +1
@Sublime, I use Hydro/Rage on my hammer and it works amazingly. I stated this earlier and I still believe it makes little-to-no sense to replace chill with slow(especially when moved to virtues and it doesn’t affect movement speed).
@ Arken, I do use Intel+Rage on Hammer and yes it does good work.
For the slow thing, I am not a fan of it either (mostly curiosity) , I am just not quite sure of the overall effects how it will be adapt into the game..
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
I still sit quiet for Sigils (we dont know what changes may come)
It is true for resolve, but you will miss the acces to protection cause of the passive traits line..(Im more of a TeamFighter, so this suits me better)
- Could always replace resolve with slow, but the thing is we have no clue how ’’Slow’’ will be effective…
And Im not sure if you should rely on hammer for the Symbol Proc..
- The channeling is long and can be easy interupted (even tho you can dodge between channeling). Maybe with ‘’Sigil of Rage’’ on hammer you will be able to proc it more often…
But in my opinion it is still very situationnal.
I feel the same way about testing….
Edit: Yes (Writ of Persistence), should be move zeal Master. I dont know why Anet did not change it already..

Arken, I only have 1 thing to say is that I would go for Virtues instand of Zeals, I feel the Dmg cap is already high and you miss a bit of substain…
So here is my Hambow:

Hi fellows Guardian,
You shouldnt be worried about the specialisation taking away our support role.
You actually get a buff (you can trait 0-0-6-6-6)..
Its a bit 2 soon about the theorycraft in game mechanics, we have seen that LB can be played offensive and defencive.. (Cause of CC, Refelct projectiles)..
The reflects was great but why knockback? remove the knockback and use like the stun or knockdown. This is more in line with PVE but PvP wise were they probably were thinking was the knockback was good for point holding nope it is not. It sucks because the CD is to long..
I am sorry, but if you think the Knockback is ‘’only good for point holding’’. You probably miss understood how you should apply your CC to support your team mate..
There is a lot that shield can offer in a support role. (protection, peels, aoe cc )
The only thing now is that Focus gets protection…
But overall, for the DragonHunter, I feel it will be aimed more towards condi builds and dps spec..
Hi,
Well I have take a look at the traits you are using, you should use 6 in virtues to get the stability on VoCourage..
Also, you have to learn how to use your blind/blocks properly to negate his Damage or combo burst/pull etc..
- DD ele is a very bad matchup, unless you want to stale a fight..
- With Gs, theres 50/50 chance to kill shoutbow in 1v1’s situation.
With Medi Hammer its Not a good match up to 1v1 shoutbow unless you want to stale the fight.. - Vs Cele Engi(of same skill lvl) its really 50/50, learn to not waste your dodge and blinds, dont get bait out of positionnement..
Remember that Engi has passive every 15s that makes em imune to condition, you do not want to waste your imobs in it*
I guess thats it.
Cheers
Im agreed with PawPaw (+1),
I do not do PVE/Crafting etc
All i do when I play this game is PvP mostly and I end up with stacks of Matts that i do not need, kitten tons of chest from rewards.
Only reason i open them is for a chance of an Ascended Box.
+1 for this post.
I Play some Hearthstone/Diablo3/ Sc2 while waiting for Qs.
(Thx to blizzard for 30s-2min-5min Q)
(I have 10min Average Qs in Guildwars2)

Currently the ladder is a ‘beta’ season. We are testing numbers, but this is not the feature complete design. This means things are missing that will be included later.
Wait what?
If the ladder is not feature complete… that means we’re alpha testing this PvP stuff?
this isn’t even a beta test yet (regardless of what you guys try to name it.)
Sad We all got Juke buying a game that wasnt complete/finish even after 3years ,
We are still in a BETA TESTING SOME PVP MODE..
This game state was better at Release with the Free Tournament/Paid tournament.
(that included Gem reward,Qp points on a ladder system, etc.)
To be honest id rather have no leaderboard with no rewards, compared to what we have here.
We cant even know anymore if ‘’Glory shinning piece/llama’’ was from a Tournament or farm.
When I Solo Roam in EB,
I like to run Full Zerker Medi (All or nothing).
I do push 1v1, 1v2 and sometime 1v3..
Ey guys,
So yes the ’’shield’’ in PvE is terribad, nothing to bring on the table.
**But in Pvp, if we look at a support role, the Shield brings on the Table many peels and clutch plays, that the focus wont bring for your team..
If you look at it that way, the #5 of shield offer a knockback that is very hard to dodge and almost instant, wich can interrupts an ennemie opening, easy to ensure decaps(conquest mode) + offer 1.5k heal aprox in aoe to your team.
What is sad is the ‘’bug Correction’’ that anet did on the projectiles absorption, when you could cancel it and still keep the reflection*..
The #4, offer protection for an average of 5seconds/25cd, protection is 1 of the best boon in the game. You dont care about the damage, so maybe yes It can still get a small buff on the effect like weakness if cast towards ennemies..
But it dsnt need Aegis, I feel if aegis is been add, and you play with the traits aegis heals, it is going to be way 2 stronk..
But thats only my point of view
cheers

Great player, Gl curie
“-Warriors, has a signet that gives massive healing despite having such high defense, no need to think about using it… it uses itself.”
working nicely as intended. it was too weak previously, but it is fine now.
note, if someone cannot deal enough damage to a healing signet warrior, then they do not deserve to defeat the warrior.
Worst troll ever.. Rofl saying that if you cant ouplay passive, you dont deserve to beat this class.. I mean theres some class has bunker who dont even cleave enough to out damaged that passive.. I am sorry if i am rude, but it is pathetic to think that way…

I love the facs that new players come to try tpvp, but i mean really when i watch those picture i see there is a major issue with MMR or the game is just dead..
If I were a new to the game, I wouldnt enjoy getting trolled by people who play with devs, lets say its far from been sportsmanship, and it is hard for me to see new players fit and adapt..
(edited by Sublime Le Peasant.1932)
It is a boring process in pve anyway..
It is call body block, every1 can do it in-game.
Good point you bring up here
THis thing ur suggesting would just ruin teamplay.
I approve jose, those achievement farmers will exploit that system and ruin gameplay..
Id like this… Except ill never get one :’(
Solo Q is hugely based on luck, and youre just so dependant on your team…
Id go as far as saying, winning requires more luck than personal skill.
I would personally love if they made a mode where you just duel 1v1s or something. It can controbute to legendary achievements aswell, but not enough. You still have to get revives and map specific stuff in conquest. With a duel mode, those of us who are good at combat and just unlucky/bad at conquest will finally get some “recognition”, maybe a seperate leaderboard that rates your ability in 1vs1 combat, instead of luck.
Again, Im not saying they should, im saying I would love it
I already spend 50% of my time in Spvp doing the 1vs1 custom arenas :/.
Sadly for you 1v1 mean nothing about skill due to the current lowskill cap on class due to high passive efects..
And so far that GuildWars existed there was no mode of 1v1 ever made.. So dont hop on that
Immob stacking is bad in everyway of the game Pvp or Pve..
Have you ever done arah p4 recently at melandrue boss? Its just ridiculous in both sides of game.
