Well I would like it to have modes like normal – hc – flexible. Normal being fixed amount, hc well much harder, extra abilities and fixed number and flexible where you could bring extra people with slightly adjusting content.

It would serve several types of guilds and both small and large alike.

Excellent to hear! I have been side-stepping to WoW just because I miss raiding in PvE – possibility. Also fact that Arenanet hasn’t come up with so traditional options makes me rather excited on anticipation to see what this could turn up to.

I have been rather long time missing guild activities on PVE side – I mean sure, you have guild missions but they are rather short and small part of it. Dungeons are not enough, activities cannot be joined as groups or held as guild own private events and world bosses really don’t feel like guild’s achievement since they so easily either turn or require mass-festival – so there is a dire need for guild-involving PVE content. On PvP side private arena’s are ok but they are kinda expensive to maintain so really looking forward to see this type of content to roll out.

Solution to fix the population imbalance

Well I do not like cap limits really – point of www is to have various size battles and map full of people. Maps of that size would suffer immensly if cap limit is presented too low. People don’t change servers easily (well that could be fixed with free transfers I guess but still) – There are a lot of people who have been there for their servers on ups and downs and don’t like the idea of “forced” change plus I would see it bringing forth a lot of elitistic discussions like “only the best guilds are allowed to stay in our server” etc.

I really would like to see solution for imbalance as two-fold. Combination of firstly battle-group and new maps.

First if there would be say 2 new map types going hand in hand with existing ones (BL + EB) – secondly there would be battlegroups bringing together small and large population servers, so pretty much cut amount of servers in half by pairing them up.

I would see benefits of it as follow:

  • “empty” servers would get to fight alongside with more populated ones – taking away the feeling that it is “always about the numbers”
  • New people to fight alongside with
  • New maps to experience alongside with old
  • bigger pool of people in battles making sure you get a nice head-on clashes almost always

I see www as a control, co-operation and communication thing (alongside with fun!) and that would IMO increase it a lot.

Is it possible to gather through API www events triggering near the player? I mean if you e.g. stand still in path of a dolyak then you get escort dolyak or is it protect dolyak event – is that kind of event gathering possible?

Which all languages are considered when combining people – current language servers or more?

A bit theoretical one but with feature which I understood to be such that guild could trigger major world bosses like new jungle wurm and coming of megaserver is it possible even for a large-scale guild to fully occupy one map instance?
Kinda missing feeling of guild only pve achievements.

There are plenty of great things in GW2 but always also something that pokes you to ribs always when you encounter them. Here are mine 5.

1. Upgrading materials in mystic forge

It feels really unnecessary repetition to add same materials and create superior blueprints one at a time. When you have done these in hundreds you start watching your mouse murder in your eyes.

I would improve it so that all upgrade mystic forge usages would have amount selection, similar to professions to create desired number of items – would make my experience with mystic forge so much better. Now I tend to shiver even when passing the forge.

2. Lack of things to do with guild group bigger than 5 outside wvwvw

For certain there are great large scale events like LA currently or Tequila… but even if you would bring your guild group there and play it masterfully from your part it may fail and fail all the time. That makes it feel that participating those events is totally same wheter you are solo or with guild members – ok, achievement tagging is easier but after that.

Secondly there are great mini-games in GW2 but they don’t have party option or you cannot have Private events like with pvp arenas – it would be nice to buy similar for guild to organize Private guild events.

Also can’t believe I would say this but I miss instances scaling for bigger size than 5 members – I would love to drag and co-opearate with e.g. 14 guild members.

Guild missions are in my books an excellent and innovative step to right direction but community is often built also upon huge variety of guild achievements and I feel currently that is lacking. We log in, chat, sometimes get a group to dungeons , sometimes wvwvw but other than that everyone just does what ever. It really doesn’t bring guild together to work together.

There are a lot of options – scale dungeons, add Private mini-games, add guild-bound weapons and armors and possibility to grind together, make these big outdoor bosses to involve an instanced 10-20 person group part which could speed up appearing of the outdoor boss. This could be e.g. a cave where you could do small guild achievements/raids and they would add to bar and when bar is full it would trigger outdoor event – similar to anti-toxin bar used in living story. It would come ever X hours but you could cut it up to 30 minutes if there are enough succesfull small scale raids accomplished.
PVE side lacks a feeling of guild / community.

3. Guild management options or lack of them

First of all there is not option to see only those who represent guild currently. With a mix of alliance guilds you need to scroll back and forth to see who are representing currently. This could be managed with simple filtering options really. E.g. either not display those not representing or grouping all representatives on top/bottom.

Secondly is the lack of visibility of GMOTD – I really have liked the option in other games where GMOTD is displayed upon entering the game on screen shortly. 2nd option would be that on login screen you would see on background of your char the banner of your represented guild and its GMOTD if you want to do things a bit differently.

Thirdly I would like to see options for in-game event management system. This would allow guild leaders to reach better all players.

With these 3 things implemented I would find the game I would get rid of shivers when seeing mystic forge, felt guild management more easier and feel easier to involve people into guild also with PVE side guilds.

Allow me to join the party.
I guess SFR is confident since they only have to fight Vizunah twice, while Piken has to fight Vizunah 3 times.
SFR’s 2nd place is pretty much guaranteed unless they arent 1st against Augury Rock and Jade Sea.

Nah, Piken just allies with augury next week and pushes you to 2nd place and it is totally new game last week – heck, if Piken plays it’s cards correctly for next 2 weeks they can be tied #1 instead of #4 but shrugs up to them

Sfr and RS are clearly double teaming and I suspect them even to be on the same TS…
There is too much attack simultaneous with 3-4 seconds of gap so that it is not true.

Although I have to say I was amazed very often might of Piken – e.g. on this case small band of Piken drive away viz zone blob – Vizuna immeadidly noticing their might and withdrawing regardless of at least 3x the numbers

or cases of Piken and Vizuna zone blobs passing by with highest damage thrown between being /wave

Anyways, underlining definately what you say – teaming up causes high amounts of bad karma and it kinda eats away the ground from having something so great as server vs server vs server – It kind of makes things feel more like well doubleteamed. Still I am certain all three servers have learned their lesson and fight with equal rage against both other servers.

Ok, I am trolling now , sorry folks, didn’t have such a great day.

Anyways, lets have a night of fun fights.

Myrmi is hard somtimes to hit and defend your self vs to blobs/sergs or waht ever ppl like to call..no mater what server you hit the other hits you from the back when your half ppl is dead or try to come back from WP…i cant blame any of 2 servers realy..is all part of the game and all play for points..so if 1 server see the opportunity he cgap her and play his game beter to get those points..but lets face it..
But im wonder how big is the ego and how much confidencethey have on ther skils the players from SFR and RS from the moment that 2 very high servers nead to team up and work toogether -and admit that they do that-so they win a high server..so im also a bit disapoind from those 2 servers,,i was expected more
And about hacks ets all servers have ppl that use that..so beter all stop to use this for excuse on fight

First of all hacks are game-spoilers – we should do all we can to root those out and SFR community is 100% against using those, something we hope & believe all communities share since truly as you said there are always some people doing it. Still worst thing we could do is a “silent approval” of doing nothing. They are not excuse on fight.

Secondly I have to admit I was tempted to say “look who is talking” but that would be fruitless – anyways, let me assure that you have been merely trolled – I am very active on reading and discussing in SFR wvwvw community both with field players as well as commanders and leaders and I haven’t read/heard even any comments about working together with RS.

Haha, sry SFR about the Reset Night on Vizu Borderlands.
Yeah we roamed with a 70-90 man zerg, but u were at least that much, and 2 guild troops. OSC and BOOM if i recall correctly.
Just a bit sad u never had the coordination to really threaten us, like going in from different angles at the same time and stuff like that.
Good fights though, but u had to always attack my Bay, while we were in the Garrison, not cool.

Lets have a good week and lots of fun, see ya on the battlefield.

Definately YES – I totally love the mini-games but hate it that I cannot do those with guild mates/friends/ally guilds. Need similar system to PvP rooms to organize them or similar instances as home instances are for guilds to host those. Something to do and develop with influence perhaps? like with guild missions.

great! Gotta love Southsun Survival but yet again implementing a activity which can be soloed – as such it is good and fine but it seems that guilds and groups of friends are yet again neglected in the field of activities. I have loved all the activities so far in the game and been really really REALLY disappointed that you cannot have guild only or invite only versions of them – being in a guild is all about doing things together and activities would be an excellent thing for building up guild spirit, have fun and compete but now you have to rely on luck to get guildies alongside in battle. So when, oh when you can have private/invite only activities?

It’s surprising to see that some players still not get the point about WvW. GvG should never happen in WvW at best it is tolerated with some condition (empty map, no queue, off peak hours).

Organizing GvG outside the EB JP is just contributing to spread bad mood everywhere.

You should better spend your energy spamming ANet to really implement a GvG.

Even though it is true that WvWvW is won by having more points by opposing servers and that you get points by capping targets and killing dolyaks I hardly believe that Anet had in mind that player communities should not evolve new ways of taking advantage of vast areas we are provided in forms of BLs and EB. There are lots of competitive groups/guilds out there which aim to improve their skill/play against others so I would say battles are a strong part of WvWvW even though they do not provide any points for overall score. Still, majority of us wish to compete against players instead of doors. I find this GvG as a marvelous mark of players evolving setup that Anet has provided. Fighting in even numbers is fun, more challenging – gives more space for skill to shine which is not the case when you fight against 1:5 odds with only weapon skills coming out …barely.
I consider therefore GvG as a fun addition & change for normal mayhen of wvwvw – it gives variety, not hinders to gameplay and I see it as an excellent thing. I would love to see more even smaller scale ones – 5v5, 10v10 what ever size vs what ever size.
About comment regaring off-hours, empty maps and no ques – yeah right – this is again “night-capping” discussion and all the stuff that hit the fan again. So people should skip school, work or remain at play and sleep only few hours so that they would be allowed to play gvg? right…
I cannot turn your head naturally any more than you can mine but I doubt mmorpgs might not be correct place if you do not like that players evolve new ways to use game environment and have fun there.
Still I definately agree with you that Anet should implement separate arena-like GvG place in the game.

It would be interesting to hear upon your opinions about how you see commanders now and in the future -regarding options they have for leading in the battlefield.
I recall also reading that there are “new siege” being considered / planned – anything about types you can reveal or what kind of aspect that you consider missing or too weak that they would add/support?
Would be also interesting to hear grounds you chose to make 3 clones of borderlands, why not variation? Also anything you can reveal upon forthcoming map changes / additions?
Are you happy with PVE Aspect of wvwvw or any changes you would like to see on it/ planned for it?
Orb stands still hang around there, any plans to remove them / have some usage for them?
Do you have any plans for people doing scouting – it is imperative work but it is immensly hard to get people to agree to do it since it pays no rewards – anything you are going to address or is it even purpose to just give it a boring feeling, well most likely not since I see it against your philosophy.
Do you have any plans to support commander co-operation via map interface? Like building battle plans via more persistent route arrows/target markers etc?
Are there any guild related wvwvw improvements in the horizon? (well and bit off topic, guild improvements overall, how to manage them, etc etc)
Do you have any plans to make it possible to alter/change environment in the wvwvw maps – like use supply to build earth wall with pikes in the field, growing forests you could cut through and so on?
Is there anything in store coming for Karma in wvwvw or is it just something we all pile up in millions without any proper use? E.g. would you be able to transfer it to laurels/gems/etc.?

Thank you for the BSF guild from JS from ad-hoc GvG request last night. I Am certain neither groups had anything optimal regarding setup and it was actually at least our first gvg but was fun watching it alongside with VSS guild from VZ (thank you for not interrupting).

I know that I am slightly repeating myself – not blaming for people having players on different playing times but you can check out e.g. during the week VZ strong hours http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/9/ – they are from early morning till afternoon when it is very very quiet at least in SFR overall. shrugs so they have a good coverage.
Gotta love bags last night on JS map <3 – at least you guys are stubborn, hour after hour of masses rushing forward getting wiped but in the end naturally you will get it. I guess all are happy? we get lots of victories in battle and you get keeps & towers…. eventually.

Is there already an overlay to GW2 window which would give map specific status? That would be absolutely great. So you could on your playing screen see camp CDs etc…

I know that dual-monitor people do not have an issue but us poor 1 monitor ones could really benefit from overlay on GW2 window

Understandable worry but it doesn’t really require you to speak up in TS also you can mute all else than commander since it makes things easier.
I give you an example – I was tagging on in EB on one morning – I had 3 people in TS with me – those 3 I used for distractions, manning siege while I scouted with others and so on – easy and simple thing to do with people on TS. Others I tried to guide with chat which resulted in me being most of time restricted from chat since I flooded it with chat.
It goes ok if you just move around and leave people to do what they consider best but there are benefits, especially in heat of combat to be able to give commands while fighting – when to collapse for healing burst, or portal so on and so on.
I wouldn’t call it elitism, people just aim to improve and be able to give instructions easier, be more efficient – people have a tendency to want to improve and learn
Oh and with comments that women get – I wouldn’t be too harsh with them – there are some still around 13 year or what is the age limit for playing this game. They still might giggle as sissy girls when hearing a woman voice but they’ll learn slowly – perhaps starting from bees and flowers but they’ll get to there – shortly: mute is your friend here again.

Certainly there is a role for all, those who follow commanders and who don’t but even there things are easier if you are able to use voice chat – to tell enemy movement – tell which camps you are flipping and so on…

First of all hi to all – nice to be here at T2. First and foremost most pleasant change for myself was that there are actually people who fight even against odds – not only run away unless having vastly superior force <3

Secondly would like to thank small group (5-6?) Kodash we had an excellent match-up on monday morning/day at champions camp. We had a party mixed from Frozen Dawn (FD) and Unseelie Court (HOVI) and had 20 minutes of almost constant battle upon the camp. We won but it was very very close call on all the matches. Even got interrupted by group of 15 JS At some point but certainly were able to suprise them while they focused on you.

Shame i missed your tags but hopefully you notice this one. Same /salute here which we shared also in-game after the matches.

Also very fun matches all around so far – gotta love it. We might be starting up a bit slow after mega-blob hibernation but we’ll get there so watch your backs

It is nice to see so many people eagerly queing for wvwvw experience – what is not so nice to encounter after being in a que for an hour a player staying extended amount of time at starting areas and own keeps doing a single thing – autocasting a heal ability on every 20 or so seconds. This keeps you permanently inside the wvwvw since you are “active” – I would remove that possibility and extend slightly amount of time prior people are thrown away – ability to have breaks is needed but I think we now have people just autocasting for half and hour or more just to avoid queing again – feels a bit silly when there are immense amount of people in que to get to play.

Hi,

Any update on mini-games? Order of implementation, teaser of things to come? Any estimated schedule for next game to be implemented? Any comments upon possibility to join as a party? E.g. by adding the as guild missions even or something, party-join is really important!.

mmm, what about zergs? There are zergs and always will be? should system be like that if you have more than 10 players near you you don’t get exp, influnence rank-xp?
You are free to go to sPVP there are no zergs, equal sized teams. Then one is free to complain there that you are always 3v1 or something.

Massive zergs just make people avoid them, go to keeps and keep shooting them with siege – doesn’t progress much of their rank, eh?
This doesn’t promote zerging really at all – Massive zergs do not get much of kills really since people avoid them or then they get wiped by suprise and even when you kill someone most of the poor lads you run aren’t even tagged by you before they die

Yes, I admit, I made a mistake – I chose tag for a small class, smallest asura there is and boy, once you enter bigger battle no amount of blue tagging or target focusing will keep me in sight of my guildies/people following me. Secondly making my enginee most usefull in the field it takes me to use Acid bomb to get AoE heals / retaliations out, tossing me always out of the “ball”.

I would further claim that people tie commanders to guilds, not so much on a char but still…
100 gold is a huge amount of money for casual player focusing mostly on wvwvw and using money on upgrades etc.
So my suggestion would be that monthly you would have option to reset commander tag and choose to other char.

Great to read that blog, can’t wait to get rid of culling. Don’t get me wrong due to following, can’t wait to get rid of it but how does this affect on skill lag.
Lately in wvwvw we have had massive battles which tend to get you a horrible horrible skill lag – my fingers sore from clicking hundreds of times just to get few skills out – will this help on that as well or is it a different issue? I’ll be more than happy to reduce enemies to mere nameplates if I can use my skills in combat :p. So any comments on that?

Good luck for all servers – have fun – remember to take screenies, share movies, praise the good and lol the oddies, throw a gvg challenges and keep on fighting.

RIP had a blast last night on DESO BL – jumping between Bay and Hills, mostly fighting in and hear hills, several ninja caps, mesmers portaling people from all sides inside and so on – Glad to fight you guys there. There were some massive blobs in the move yesterday, makes skill lag horrible but as an overall experience very fun evening

Why the fuzz? Well as stated many times topics never change – I doubt that there is anything that could keep VS from T1 atleast for longer time. Not even if other 2 ally unless there is considerable shift in coverage – I am in awe truly how the hell they are able to have so good overall coverage for the day. It will keep them in the T1 and keep them dominating – has been so from the beginning and will remain so – they are unparaller to that both in EU & US servers.
Second to that VS has amount of good guilds and good focus/communication on essentials – which is getting the points. It builds the result – not open field battles or nothing else – as fun as they might be. there is rather common thing that there are 3 VS groups roaming in map – one for camps and 2 attacking opposite sides of the map -something you don’t see so often other servers to execute.
Thirdly they got common language – it makes e.g. using one common TS so much easier along with communication. EU is in that sense different to US servers, I would assume english is there a common first-spoken language but in EU – well I take SFR as an example since I play there – when you go to TS on a non-language server (french/german) you got dozens of different language speaking countries presented. It eases up communication for sure.
Have been little wondering why german-speaking don’t have a such super-server as french – dunno whether french have any help from countries like Canada where french is spoken quite a lot compared to germany being rather focused geographically in EU. Could be or could be that not.

With mentioned strenghts VS is here to stay. Naturally it feels good and cheerful whenever we are able to push them low on score – it never comes easy, we all boast like drunken norn at the party how enemies were countless and us so few (not counting the fact always that due to culling managing rules at the moment enemies are drawn first and allies later creating quite efficiently picture that enemies ALWAYS outnumber allies which I would claim is not necessarely always the case).

But I would assume we all (well ok, ok, most of us..) play it since it is fun to play – it is challenging and having 3 sides is a blast.
This is always amusing to read but since it hasn’t changed in 6 months and even though I do like RP spirit – reading same outbursts over and over again kinda kills the will to read these threads from all but those who enjoy repeating same thesis all the time.

How about listing on match-ups best guilds you seen on your own and opposing servers and why, having more screenshots from big clashes, videos, organizing those very interesting GvG matches (hell, why not even cup with bunch of guilds from each server) and so on…

At least I am getting thirsty for something else (aye, might be that the endless popcorn needed for reading this thread has caused but still…)

Oh and thanks for Deso from interesting night on SFR map and hills last night – I am not so much fan of a wall fights but had to say you were very good at choking the stairs and had a lot of laughs when counting the number of AoE fields on the ground.
Shame I didn’t remember to take screenies and pick up guild names, one group was at least something like GT…

Will try to remember next time.

It is not actually the night-capping that gives edge to anyone – there are pretty much battle ongoing till very early morning but then, you can check the trend from last few days starting from 8 in the morning what happens to green line
