Karma- what to do with it?

I normally buy green gloves for R&D waypoint, 800-1000 or so karma each. Forge them for rares, sell the rares. There’s some nice karma guides on the gw2 reddit if you make a search.

Don’t know… Piken have been beaten pretty badly by JS last week, JS seem to be kinda evenly matched with SFR…
We’ll need to see next week who comes out on top.

Who says we went all out on JS? Free transfers were still in full swing. keeping a community together is more important than winning any day of the week.

Should be a fun week, both servers prefer fights over points. But it may not happen this week yet. The maths on millenium isn’t 100% accurate, at the end of last matchup it had Jade Sea staying in our tier, yet they moved up.

It’s close right now between kodash falling or staying.

queue is big coz all ppl who ever played wvw are on top servers
it’s either you have 1-5h queue in prime time or you never have any
and 133 ppl is max as I know it

Find me 133 people while a map is queue’d. Even half of that.

Yeah, have to call BS on this whole queuing bug thing. Never encountered a queue in CD, prime time or not.

The whole issue isn’t the queue, if you were literate enough to read through the thread you’d get an idea what people are saying. The fact you’ve never had a queue means of course you won’t be noticing what’s happening across many server.

Multiple servers, SOME (not all) of which already had queues have noticed a significant increase in them since the day of the update. The MAIN issue is NOT queues. It’s the decreased size of people inside wvw COMBINED with the queues that are pointing towards a change/bug with wvw.

Do you get it now? I’ll make it simpler than a paragraph just incase.

More queues, a lot less people inside wvw = legitimate concerns

Inb4 the next my servers fine so there’s no problem troll.

I’ll add that the concern isn’t the queue’s specifically. When you’re seeing larger queue’s and a LOT less people inside WvW, something is wrong somewhere. The populations inside of WvW is the main issue. The people replying we have no queue lol, you probably had no population to being with, hence why you see no change.

there are not “settled” ratings. not exactly what we are looking for .

Those ratings are from the old system, so not yet exact until millenium gets the new formula. Also, it will take a few weeks for the tiers to settle again.

Agreed… We were looking at going back to t8 again after this or maybe next week and maybe grow from there on, but now we (WSR) are looking at a first place and weeks of getting facerolled. Sure we will fight, but it’s not going to be alot of fun and we run the risk of losing players this way.

I sincerly hope that Anet has some undisclosed, alternate maths for the next matchups…

You should ease up on your point income if you don’t want to be out of your depth next week. Rolling in 600+ points, you’re just setting your own fate.

So, looks like our month long fight is drawing to a close today. Thank you to Gandara and Augury for all of the epic fights. Hope we meet again under more balanced circumstances, like the first 3 weeks in which the scores were so close.

Thanks to [LdF] and [NOM] and [WvW] for not giving up, even against overwhelming odds in the final few days. Some great fights from them.

Look forward to fighting Riverside, they were really fun to fight against last time, and our new opponent Baruch Bay.

I get at least 50 a day and got the things I needed from them a long time ago. Easy answer to this thread is people don’t wvw cos they prefer pve.

Didn’t do much wvw this week, but the little we had was really fun. Raiding with only 8 [BOON] was both amusing and challenging.

Looking forward to all servers being full force again. Gratz to Gandara. With that nightcrew I can see you climbing tiers next week. We won’t be making it easy though!

I’m someone who farmed Orr several hours every day since release. I can not provide you with concrete data, but I can share my own experience.

Until the November patch I’d farm Orr daily with full MF and food etc. I’d get approximately 30 rare items per day (6-8 hours) and this number of rares always stayed steady for the 2-3 months I farmed there.

After the patch the difference is highly substantial and literally everyone who farmed there regularly says the same. Now I am lucky to get 2-3 rare for a 6 hour period. It’s like I’m on permanent diminished returns. The difference is so great It’s not even much of a viable farm anymore.

I have well over 1000 hours played and well over half has been Orr. But since this patch I’ve found the only way to make gold effectively now is Fractals. Sometimes I;d rather farm alone, but there’s nowhere giving good return at the moment in the open pve world.

The difference every other map is barely noticeable to me. It’s highly noticable on Orr maps, especially Cursed Shore where the spawns for events are high.

The data you’re looking for is no doubt on my loot history, the difference before and after the patch is major.

Less than 18 hours after the latest patch and Cursed Shore is already unplayable on Piken Square.

Penitent event is bugged on building fort progress, because of this Blix won’t spawn, which means Shelter event is also bugged, which means Fia and Jofast are also bugged and non existant. Arah chain is bugged halfway through also.

That’s most of Arah bugged to hell and it hasn;t even been 24 hours since patch.

I’ll be back after next maintenance/patch, this is getting ridiculous.

Fixed a bug that caused Warmaster Jofast and her caravan to not advance properly through Cursed Shore. <—— pointess if the events chained to it still bug frequently.

I gotta say I disagree with this. I understand the issue with other players characters making it more difficult, visually. I encountered this as well. But there is actually a social aspect to this (people talking between rounds). I don’t know what the best solution would be, but I don’t want this to become another solo pursuit. This game promotes playing solo enough, already.

Simple solution. Give us the option. Make it an instance that is both solo and group. This could be done by placing the “group” into the instance so if that “group” is only you then you go solo. If others want to do it with a group then they pug for it. They can invite random people join them and do it as a group. Both win though I have to say it is quite clear from all the complaints everywhere in game and out of game all across the web that there are way more who are ticked off because of it being a group thing than those who are fine with it being a group thing.

Easily said but the puzzle isn’t here long, what you’re asking for takes a lot longer to code and test.

Don’t know why people complain of other people, you lose 80% of them on the first ten jumps. Camera doesn’t bug out if you avoid certain places, like the little ledge at the cog at the beginning.

For all those that don’t like it, can’t do it etc. Their is more halloween content for you to actually enjoy if this is to frustrating. Stop trying to spoil the one challenge I’ve seen in this game. Do you all want everything like the Zhaitan fight or something? Handed to you by spaming 2 with no effort?

The ACTUAL DEVELOPER of this puzzle, Josh Foreman, put a comment on youtube saying that he only expected 5% of the players to be able to make this. So this is your “friendly” approach to players without high-end computers, anet? To casual players?

No kidding. They deliberately and happily alienated 95% of their entire player base only 2 months after game launch, in a Holiday event which everyone always looks forward to no less! WTF? This certainly does NOT bode well concerning their attitude towards their players in the future.

I’ve said this on another thread but I’ll say it here too. It is my opinion that they seem to have it in their minds to milk the players for a couple years for real life money while investing as little as possible themselves….just enough to keep us around a while but only until we start dwindling away after about two years. I do not seriously think they have a long term goal in mind for this game. This is a cash cow for quick and relatively easy income and profit. I am open to changing this view if given enough evidence to the contrary but things like the ever present and unfixed camera issues, the fast-food like holiday content with no real planning on their part for the issues which would be very easy to gauge simply based on a little homework in what works and doesn’t in every MMO out there for these types of Holiday events, the nerf it rather than fix it when it comes to clipping issues, etc. If this holiday event is going to be indicative of the future…yeeeaaah, I won’t be around long nor will I sink very much of my real life money into the game.

There’s plenty of more halloween content for those 95%, and It’s a lot less than 95%.

Go do something in the game that you enjoy. Can you really not accept that everything in the game isn’t catered towards you? Just because you can’t do it, or didn;t enjoy it, doesn’t mean it’s bad design at all. A lot of us found it to be our most fun experience in gw2.

I COMPLETLY agree with original poster. I have “God Walking Amongst mere mortals” of GW1, 100% of GW2, all the other jumping puzzles, and this is beyond difficult. This is plain sadistic.

Guild wars is not a platform game because it doesn’t have a precise jumping system NOR a polished camera. The other puzzles were fine because you had time to correct your camera and make them. This is way to fast for people with below average computers or with physical disabilities. I would like to play this puzzle with an analog gamepad and automated camera, not having to control at once camera with the mouse and strafe and foward with the keyboard when my standard keyboard can’t process more than 2 strokes at once.

Either the speed of the goo should be slower or the plataforming easier. I guess than a “lock camera” option would be nice too, but that’s nonexistent.

This puzzle predates the mmo-manifesto and all the spirit and hype gw2 was built. From my guild only two people were able to make it. Both guys with high-end computers. For me, after 8h continuously trying, this is exasperating.

To be worse, there are a lot of other issues already comented by other people: The Norns and Chars blocking the view (I had to make one eventualy, because otherwise anything I did was futile), the stupid cutscene at the start and the repetitive and annoying “tic toc” npc on each round.

My highly below average computer did just fine. I don’t see how an optional jumping puzzle in a random game should have to cater to all physical disabilities. That’s just absurd if you REALLY have a think on it.

Go and do something else then? Plenty of other events which might be more to your liking. Not everything has to tweaked to your satisfaction.

I don’t understand why the discussion has shifted to disabled gamers. Obviously the notion that the difficulty should be lowered to cater to disabled gamers is ridiculous – where do you stop? Do you then cater it to toddlers? Do you start catering it to gamers with greater degrees of disability? Say you make it so people with a slight disability can complete it. Oh, here’s a gamer with an even more debilitating condition, and since you lowered the difficulty for the previous group of gamers you have to do it again! Eventually all games will be at the level where infant monkeys rolling their faces on a keyboard can beat it.

This is not a problem of discrimination but the fact that you CAN’T design content without having a TARGET AUDIENCE. This particular piece of content was DESIGNED to be difficult and requiring a certain degree of dexterity and coordination. By design, not the entire playing population will be able to complete it. Bringing in disability as an argument to attempt to lower the difficulty of something DESIGNED to be difficult is…silly. It was never MEANT to be able to be done by everyone.

Obviously you are only reading the parts of the discussion you want to read and missing the whole offered solution where EVERYONE is made happy by offering difficulty levels, either grouped or solo, timed or not timed, in an instanced puzzle zone for holiday puzzles along with a sliding scale of rewards to go with the level of difficulty. See? Simple. EVERYONE is happy. Unless certain people can ONLY be happy if they get to puff out their chests and say “I did it and YOU can’t! Neener neener neener!”?

Then people would complain they’re not getting as good of rewards as the people doing the highest difficulty.

I think we can agree the biggest issue here is time. I don’t think we need 20 different versions, I think people would rather get it done in their own time, rather adding another layer of frustration by it being temporary.

Also, be realistic. They can’t patch in massive changes like making it solo, changing loot tables etc within 2 days. That’s a lot of coding and testing.

I’m all for this being available longer so completionists are able to stack up there achievement. But a nerf on the ONE thing I’ve found a challenge so far? No, sorry.

Do people not like a challenge anymore?

No, in fact it doesnt. There are special institutions for people with disabilities. All of the world realizes that disabled people have less possibilities but you think otherwise. In fact if you think that a person with trisomy 21 is not inferior to a normal person it says a lot about you. 99% of people that bought the game shouldn’t suffer because of 1%.

yes in fact it does, because you are the guy who doesn’t want a video game jumping puzzle to be easier because a person with a disability isn’t as good as you at it.

I have a friend with arachnophobia, shall we remove the spiders from the halloween content aswell? Or make them look less spider-like?

Yeah It’s a bug. If it happens again come out and go back in, you’ll probably be in a different overflow and it will work. That’s probably why it worked for you after.

Why do you assume It’s casuals who aren’t able to do the puzzle? The casuals in my party did it faster than me. Why are you so mad at it? Is it the only thing to do ingame? Do you want all content to be like the Zhaitan fight? Pressing 2 until you die of boredom.

No-one is forcing you to do the puzzle. Some of you are so mad at it, maybe STOP AND LEAVE? Their is a hundred other things to do.

People are aware it is optional, but a lot of them would also like to leave feedback to WHY they dislike in hopes it either gets fixed, or at least gives Anet ideas what people like and did not like about something.

Further notice most of the complaints are about the camera, the issue of other people blocking view for jumps. and the timing window because of the mist, not about the puzzle itself.

Please stop assuming everyone with issues about something just want it nerfed to oblivion so there’s no accomplishment in doing it.

It was easy enough to find a less populated overflow. Yes the camera can be improved upon, but it wasn’t a huge issue…

I can relate to some of your issues and we all know bugs are frustrating, but I feel like most people who post “fix this, fix that” have no idea at all how coding works.

You can do as much testing as you want before a game launches and have everything as close to perfect as you possibly can, but when your game launches and you have 1 million people hammering on the door of your code, things change. Scaling is everything. It’s only been a month after a launch of a huge MMO, things can take months to fix, problems that would of never of been in betas.

I hate bots and I agree we need faster bans. But also, you ban them, they’re right back. There will always be bots, and more of them because of the games huge population.

As far as endgame content, it was no secret there was a lack of. Why are you surprised? Are you expecting content such as WoW, even though It’s 7 years older and a lot of patches ahead?

I feel like all the people who bring up these problems have NEVER played an MMO at launch. I’ve played many in far worse condition upon launch, with far far less content.

Do people gravitate to successful WvWvW server?
