I hope this is the place to put beta feedback. If it’s not, someone direct me to the right place plz
. Either way, here I go.
Day-Night cycle: I really enjoy the day cycle, it feels like we’re breaking our way into the jungle. My only fear is that it will be repetitive and boring to break into the jungle the same way with the same dialogue every day.
In regards to the night cycle, I find it really boring. I didn’t feel like the minions were holding us down and assaulting us. When it went to night, it just felt like we switched to different zergy dynamic events. The AI just charged us, nothing clever. It was just don’t let them into the blue ring. There was no real incentive to defend the outposts like there is in the Silverwastes. My hopes are this is just because it’s the beta. We have no access to rewards or things like that. Basically, night was a zerg-like situation on all sides and our only goal was to burn down the enemy. I want it to feel dangerous, scary, and I want to have the feeling that if we don’t stick together and defend these outposts we’re going to die horribly. If we venture out(ie to get a soldier, scavenge, scout, etc.), it will be a challenge. What would really be cool if at night, when we scout out, the minions won’t be our only enemy. We would have to fear the jungle too. Maybe paths would be blocked off dynamically, plants eat people if you get too close, floors fall out below us ( I can only dream).
Revenant: Okay. Now I have spent the beta playing a condi revenant with a mace/axe and the Shiro/Malyk champions. Running that, it just felt boring. It didn’t think I held any weight on the battlefield. And by weight, I mean knockbacks, knockdowns, etc. I didn’t feel like I had any crowd control or the ability to do anything but spit out damage. Also, I was never able to use all the utilities I had available in a fight. With the resources available, I could only use one, sometimes two of my utilities. There was always a couple I left out of a fight because I didn’t have any resources to use it. Maybe this is the way it’s suppose to be, I just don’t like it.The only time I didn’t feel that I was invisible was when I switched to hammer. I really enjoyed hammer.
Gliding: Great. I love the way it feels, and I was always really excited to use it.
Maps: So much detail. I also really felt I was able to interact with the environment and had the urge to explore more it. This wasn’t in the sense of just walking around to sight-see, but actually glide through nooks and crannies, tear down walls, climb, jump etc. You guys nailed it.

Will the Tower of Nightmares achievements still be available after the 12th?
Yeah that was one of the sources I was referring to,but I feel you shouldn’t have to go somewhere besides the game to actually understand what is going on and to be engaged. Also I never said I wanted it a specific way, those were just ideas, and in depth cut scenes would be cool too.
When I first started playing this game, frankly, I thought the Personal Story and the story of this game were terrible, and preached that this game did not have any lore. HOWEVER, I came to realize that I was wrong, this game had tons of lore, it was just hidden within the first game and it was hard to find. That is the problem, I had to go to the lands of the wikis to learn the connections of the story and the Living Story. That being said, this is with the assumption that many GW2 players did not play the original. So to help make future Living Stories make more sense, an easy way to access lore should be implemented. Some ideas could be a lore page on the website, but what would be really cool is a huge library in game with the history of Tyria in the Durmand Priory, Divinity’s Reach, The Order of Whispers, etc., just somewhere where it would belong.
Haha, i too have that same pride in CD as you do in DB and I may have been too quick to judge when I said “destroying”. Obviously though, the merging of FA and IOJ has had a really positive effect. So it should work if two other servers pulled the same thing. For the past month CD has been up against FA and from what I remember FA was in 3rd place every single week, so that just goes to show how merging the wvw guilds in their servers helped.
In light of the recent match up, specifically CDvsDBvsFA, there has been a huge increase in population of Fort Aspenwood. According to my sources, it is from a huge merge between FA and IOJ. Also, with the new paid transfers coming in soon, I am here with a last effort and proposition. I am asking if maybe we could merge the guilds of another server with Crystal Desert, specifically Dragonbrand. In the current match up, FA is destroying us and the two of us are in the similar place, scorewise. I do realize that maybe some of DB might be working with FA this week, but just think. If the WvW guilds of DB( or any other server
, maybe even multiple low population servers) merge with Crystal Desert, we could be like FA this week and we wouldn’t have to settle for a promised 2nd place. Of course, I am not a representative of CD, or am I the entire body of CD, so what I say is not the message of everyone or the"leaders of our community". Therefore, please do not trash CD or anything likewise if you disaprove of this thread. However, I am not a “pug”. I am very active in WvW and belong to a prominent WvW guild on our server, so I’m not unaware of the situation in WvW. It would be great if I could get some response on this thread from prominent people from DB or other servers and we could set this thing in motion. Again, just a proposition that hopefully will work:D

That’s what I figured, but they should at least fix it. It seems kind of stupid to just leave it like that. Anet can’t just be like “Oh, they’ll figure it out.”.
So a guildy was asking me for some tips on how to play a necromancer in wvw. After explaining the buff of it I decided to add that signet of the locust is good to help keep up with those zergs in wvw. Later, that guildy said something along the lines of “Hey Signet of the Locust says it increases your speed by 25%, but when I mouse-over the passive, it only says 10%.”. I looked at this myself and it’s true. If this is just because of some aspect of wvw I don’t know about or some condition or some other force affecting it, and it’s not a coding bug, please correct me, but as far as I know, Signet of the Locust is a lie!

I can see a few problems with this idea, but if you look at the big picture the pros outweigh the cons. It would be great if there was an “underflow” server. Right now I am working on world completion and I have noticed that in the zones there is no chat, no dynamic events going on, and only see one person throughout my time and that character is usually AFK…..also, when I go to do things like Arah or something, I can never get in because no one will do the dynamic event. The only events I see people doing is dragons and that is not enough. I don’t think this is how Anet pictured their revolutionary dynamic events. I know that’s not how I pictured them.
I have actually stopped using necro minions altogether. It’s not even because they’re broken, just other things are more beneficial than the minions.
Stack the longest possible chill you can then epidemic for real hilarity.
This is genius….so is the fear thing. I’m still using the epidemic combo(in wvw) I mentioned earlier, but this seems like the ultimate troll and I’ll have to try it!
Thanks guys, maybe I was a little too quick to judge. I have only been doing this for a couple of days and I guess it’s just the concept that seems great, but when you get to the numbers it doesn’t add up.
I have been playing Necromancer since launch and I’ve tried all sorts of different combinations. So far I have developed a pvp build and a pve build, but I haven’t focused too much on a wvw build. Which is strange since I mainly do wvw. A couple days ago some guy gave me this idea for a move combo. If you use signet of spite, then blood is power, and finish it with epidemic……you have at least 7 conditions on every player of the enemy zerg. Of course you need a condition build to do this and it doesn’t work too well outside of wvw, but so far it has worked great for me.
Now that I look back upon it, I change my mind. They don’t need an action bar, just some greater AI, so they don’t attack random things and get you killed.
Necromancer Minions, especially Flesh Golems, seem very inadequate in my opinion. The AI of the minions is very poor in which they will randomly stand there and do nothing during combat, and when out of combat, will randomly attack an npc, usually multiple ones. All I am asking is that I think some small unobtrusive action bar needs to be added containing commands that control the aggressiveness of the minions and etc.
I don’t know if it’s already been said or not, but maybe have different time zones divided across Tyria, so it’s half and half
On the world Crystal Desert the part of the Lost Shores Event Where NPC, Subdirector Noll, is meant to be, is bugged and no one can continue the event. Please fix this.
I am looking for a World vs World guild on Crystal Desert. I am level 71 right now, but as soon as I get to 80 doing wvw as much as I can. I am a Necromancer
I feel that there is a lot of problems with the minions…..I mean my flesh golem’s AI makes me feel like I have a pet rock, but even more stupid.
That sounds awesome….. o.O. I never saw it, but if what you say is true they better bring it back.
I realize how frustating that sounds, but I was able to complete this skill challenge. I don’t know how I did it. Actually I came upon the event as it was in process so therefore, I have no idea how it started, so maybe it glitched, but in a good way lol.
Also, these stupid glitches are all over the place….it seems that half of Blazeridge Steppes is glitched. It really needs to be fixed.
Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys do when it comes to finishing zones 100%. I myself just started doing that, but every zone I come close to completing is glitched in some way and renders me incapable of “completing” the area. ( btw Anet fix this). I’m asking you guys what is the gain you get from 100% and why, personally, you finish the zones 100%. thanks for the input.

I’ve been reading up on the forums and found some topics on the necromancer and what the best builds and weapons are for them. I’ve been using a dagger and focus combo with a power focused build, which personally I’ve found to work great and deal quick damage( I’ve tried out every weapon and still find the dagger pretty sufficient even though necromancers really focus on condition damage), but I’ve been seeing a lot of things that are saying the dagger isn’t that great and now I’m unsure of what the best thing to use is. So I am asking of you for your input and what you think or know is the best way to go on a necromancer. Thanks.
The only minion I use is the flesh golem and I don’t have a problem with it not attacking enemies, just the opposite, in fact. My minion always aggroes npcs at the most inconvenient times. o.O
