It’s fine. I spent yesterday and today farming coffers. I got a ticket. They are supposed to be rare and reward you for taking part in the event.
When you get one, you wont be complaining at all. They are very nice.
Anyone as of today have a server with Balth temple uncontested?
Here is my elementalist.
I am most likely going to change the top half to the CoE vest.
It is currently a mixture of CoE, AC, and HoTW dungeon armour. I think it looks amazing. Very magey, but also very regal.
Using Illumination and Burgandy dyes.
So, I notice the common D/D build revolves around a 0/10/0/30/30 build.
I have messed around with a 0/20/0/30/20 build for Bolt to the heart, but found I missed the extra healing and survivability from dodge rolling in water.
I currently have 2 superior runes of the monk
2 Super runes of water
and 2 major runes of water on my armour.
I still find myself kind of squishy.
So, my question is, aside from the boon duration, wouldn’t it be more beneficial in this instance so stack jewels? You get more power, more toughness, and more vitality.
Even swapping out 2 of the major runes would give you a noticeable difference in toughness and power.
What about a full set with jewels? It’s cheap and the stat bonuses are quite large.
Anyone else running this and have thoughts?
Fire Grab you need to directly facing the target. If they are to the side or behind you, it’s going to whiff.
Setups that I use to ensure it landing is: F3, F5 (Grab), F4 Switch to earth, E3 (Fire Aura), E4 (quake + might stack), 2 or 5 depending on if I am in a group. (E5 gives the opponent too much time to breathe).
Firegrab immediately after F3 is pretty much a guaranteed hit.
Is there a “lock target” button along with a “drop target” button?
Forgive me if I sound like a complete noob, but I have started to take wvw more seriously and need some help or advice.
Using d/d is fun and all, but the auto targetting system ruins any escape plans with RTL. If I turn it off, I have a hard time keeping track of enemies and find myself whiffing combo opportunities due to losing a target. Escaping becomes a breeze tho.
What are you using to ensure the best attack and escape methods possible?
Could someone educate me on the usefullness of the fall trait? The only thing I could see it being useful for is dropping down from keeps.
Other than that, the ele doesn’t have any skills that instigate fall damage…how will it be effective?
The problem is, if they nerf the "Build’ then we really don’t have any solid builds.
Signet Builds have permanent swiftness if combined with aura builds. This gives you the freedom to trait 30 Earth, 20 water, 10 arcane and 10 lightning if you want an aura build, or put the traits from arcane elsewhere if you want to improve damage or crit.
It will definitely help the non 80 ele’s.
If you are considering the 10% as their perma swiftness, 10% swiftness does not grant you the ability to run away freely.

Hmm, if there is a significent buff to signet of air, it will make sig builds all the more viable. Constant run speed = me being happy.
While I think some of the traits are currently lackluster, I think the biggest change would be moving some from their current tier and lowering them. It hurts too much to do an aura build with offensive properties when you need to invest 20 points into fire to get a third aura. It should be a tier 1 trait.
Use this thread to predict the next big ele patch. Here are my predictions.
~ Bunker builds are going to get nerfed by way of somehow altering the boons effectiveness.
~ Fire and Air trait lines will have some changes done to them in order to make them more viable/easier to synergize with other traits. (Hopefully Fire Aura gets moved to tier 1)
~Sceptor skills will get a buff in casting time.
~Staff skills will get a buff in casting time.
~ Evasive arcana’s properties will be tweaked ever so slightly so allow one more blast finisher.
~ Windborn Speed will be fixed
~ Magnetic Grasp will be fixed.
~Some sort of buff to the Focus skills will be applied.
These are just some things off the top of my head. What are your thoughts on what the next set of buff/nerfs will be?
I was going to rework my armour last night, but then figured I would be wise to wait for the changes.
I got it done on Yaks this morning. Suspicious location was on top of the bridge to the right, ghost chick ran, fire went everywhere..etc.

That is definitely the most satisfied I have ever felt after accomplishing a digital task in a LONG LONG time. WOO!
