I’ve been playing ranger the most and was interested in the new deadeye specialization as it seems fun to be sniping people. The new soulbeast seems ok but I feel like its a bit…. underwhelming…? I havn’t tested either of these myself which is why I’m asking others opinion. Never played thief before but it seems fun due to mobility of the staff specialization too. I’m just wondering is it worth it to roll a thief for deadeye/daredevil or just stick to ranger? I’m a PvX player mostly open PvE and WvW just curious how thief deals with each compared to ranger. Just for skin purposes what are some large backpacks that are fairly easy to obtain, via vendor or something. I do want the zephyr rucksack but its too expensive in TP ><. It doesn’t have to be a backpack just a back item.

Used a 80 boost on a guardian and Idk where to start lol. Is the soldier gear given to me good enough or should i swap it out for some other stat? Which brings me to the typical question of how to build. I’ll be mostly doing pve things as I hav eyet to complete HoT and living stories 2/3. Also which weapons are best for soloing vs team things lik wvw or fractal/raids? Thanks

I was planning to use my last lv 80 boost on one of these classes but I’m a bit iffy which. I trialed the classes and rev seems more interesting but I also heard the state they are in + the future elite specs are not optimized well for them. Can someone compare with some pro’s and cons? I play mostly solo PvE with occasional WvW things and in the future I’d like to do more team oriented things like Raids. I don’t do much PvP unless I want some gear exclusive to it.

In general, if you bought PoF, just create a lvl 1 ranger, boost him up, walk through the demo area and get a feel of the class, you can do the same for ele. Just make sure that you don’t commit your boost upon leaving the zone if you are undesided

I have a maxed ele and ranger already I’m just wondering which would be fun still with the specializations. I am leaning towards ele though. What is the current meta for them in terms for weapon and stats?

Hi I haven’t played HoT yet and I know PoF is coming soon, I’m wondering the state of ele and ranger atm with their current specializations and upcoming ones. Which one would be better for pve with occasional pvp? Ele I’ve always liked due to flashy spells and big aoe. ranger is simple yet strong + they get their pet. I’m not sure about tempest/druid because I have not played them yet so any explanation is great. And will PoF specializations take priority over HoT ones? Thank you

Hello All! Thanks for all the replies it is very helpful. I was also wondering what you guys thought of the HoT + PoF specializations, specifically more so for warrios/eles/rangers since those are my maxed levels. Which one’s are good and which ones are meh?

I was also considering the Rev class just because it’s new to me as well but what is the condition of them right now? I’ve heard they arent that good after some nerf that occured.

So I am a returning player but literally have forgotten everything about the game and don’t know where to start I feel a bit overwhelmed. I did use one of my lv 80 boosts on a warrior because my other main characters are ranged (ele and ranger). I want to know what I should start doing and how to gear up this warrior (ex. should i just buy berzerker pearl weapons/ zerker armor etc in trade post?). I have not played HoT yet either so any any information is greatly appreciated. I just felt like returning due to the new PoF expansion coming out.

The last time I played was before the realease of HoT. I wanted to get back into this game but it seems like there is a lot I am missing. What is Living world? Do I need to buy that AND HoT before I can do things in the PoF expansion? I just want to know what I need to play this game up to date. Thanks
