you went 8-10min without someone jumping in? I hate when I have a good fight going and someone on my or their side interrupt’s.
Hell, I would gladly accept my personal story being reset to “not completed”, if I could do a race change. I hate that everything looks like crap on my asura. Even the weapons are “sized” wrong.
Yea, I would say this is not a 900 range combo. Most of those skills require you to be within 300 or so radius (really close).
That was actually very impressive. Considering the few PUG’s I have joined always take’s several tries before overcoming that area.
I use Scepter/Focus. Just sit in Earth as suggested and spam #1 skill. With Signet of Fire, you can just kite your victim till they bleed and burn to death. In trouble? Pop skill #4 in earth and use your heal.
Seem’s like we are getting conflicting answers?
As for using two DPS sigils, not 100% sure but I think they act on the attack. So sigil’s in your main hand effect skills 1-3 and offhand 4-5.
Can anyone confirm this info? Thanks for the replies.
Say if I have TWO
Superior Sigils of Luck – Gain .6% Magic Find every time you kill a foe. (Max 25 stacks)
Do I get .12% x25 (or .6% x 50 how ever u want to look at it)? Or do I only get the .6 if I use a main skill or off hand skill etc? Same question applies to differing sigils. Say [Superior] Smoldering and Agony. Do I get the 10% bonus of each sigil at the same time, or only if I am using a skill for that weapon?
Sorry it was just confusing me a bit.
My current gear is a mix of Carrion, Cleric, and PTV Dungeon. I was going for a Condition Damage build, but ended up wanting a bit more vitality/toughness. So I added in a few pieces of Dungeon gear from Ascalon Catacombs. I have not purchased any Exotic trinkit’s yet, so still room for adjustment there. I have shared a YouTube video with my gear.
In your opinion, which stat may being lacking? Or maybe which stat do I have to much of? Wherever I can improve, I am hoping to do so with the trinkits or jewels/upgrades/sigils, etc…
YouTube 1min Gear video: http://youtu.be/13QzqvHWxig
Currently using this build, but that changes every now and again as i test different things.

I think this is the build you are speaking of.

This build. But take the 10 points out of AIR and put them in water (add some cantrips for heals with the Soothing Disruption trait). She will stay in Earth 95% of the time. Stacking bleeding damage via Earth 1 skill. This is a condition based build.
This will give her 2-3 heals without ever leaving earth, and the Condition Damage will down any PVE mob within a couple seconds.
There is a very simple Scepter/Focus condition build. Mainly focused in Earth. It involved stacking bleeding damage via Stone Shards (your skill 1 ability in earth). It’s stacks x3 every autocast.

I like this build as it’s very simple to play. It’s great for 1v1 battle’s. May be lacking a little in 2vs1 or more.
oops, sorry double post.
Save your coin. Just keep your weapon within 2-3 levels of you. You will need all the gold you can get your hands on at 80. Which does not take very long to reach.
I think you are talking about a build similar to what Yin uses. Lot’s of video’s of that build in action. Great build, IMO.
I run a condition based S/F build. Not sure PTV is what I need. Currently running Cleric + Carrion mixed.
Total repair cost + WP usage = maybe 15s. I wear light armor. When I repaired 2/6 pieces were completely in the red. Final chest rewarded me with 2 orange drop’s and 3 yellow’s. Even took 2+ hours. Twas worth it. I went from having ~4g to ~8g.
Hell, I seen naked people fighting. Fight naked and you still get a good reward at the end.

Now we are told this, after I read a RED comment earlier, saying they would not have time to fix the 2nd portion of the scavenger hunt…. To late for me.
LOL he said it was crap. I would love to have that. That combo of stats is awesome for condition builds. Toughness, Vitality, and Condition Damage.
Elely has one in the FOCUS. (I use a scepter/Focus, on a Earth condition based build.
Ah I forgot about eles, but meanwhile they’re forced to use Focus when they have no ability to switch weapons in a fight, which kind of cripples you if you don’t like/use Focus.
But yes, it’s there. 3/8 classes aren’t completely screwed on the first Young Kakra they see.
By extension of that, what if you aggro another one right after? Or they respawn? Or any of a hundred things happen during the cooldown? Eat 8-9,000 damage, which in some classes is half or more of their HP? How is that remotely balanced?
Also, learn to dodge. I’m not trying to come across as an ?sshole, I’m just saying that it’s a helpful tactic in this particular fight.
Yes, you can dodge…but there’s also a ton of other things that need dodging. And once again, what about extra mobs? What if you just spent your stamina dodging other attacks, or the tons of other things that Kakra can do that do way too much damage?
Yea I logged on to check the skill names if anyone once to reference them. There are actually 2 useful one’s for dealing with fast hard hitting projectile damage.
Magnetic Wave – Damage foes, cure three of your conditions, and reflect projectiles with a magnetic surge.
Obsidian Flesh – Envelop yourself in stony armor, making yourself invulnerable. (4 seconds)
Both of those are in Earth. (which I am in 95% of the time. I love stacking Stone Shards, bleed x3 skill)
Elely has one in the FOCUS. (I use a scepter/Focus, on a Earth condition based build.
U forgot. Don’t be slow.
Yep, Agree’d. Router went down last night. Leaving me unable to rejoin my party.
I guess my understanding of “Difficult” vs “Being Trolled” differ’s then yours. Yes, it took us a hour. But no part of it was difficult. We knew what we had to do. What we had to do was rather simple. But always something for the next hour till we got it, set us back. Like I said. We were being trolled for a hour ;p
Which we did. Still took way to long to finally finish it. If one out of 3 orbs get screwed, you are all screwed. Rinse and Repeat and hope for the best.
So you expected that you should be able to just blow through it?
Challenging end-game content, kitten those arena net blasphemers!
This was not challenging. DO no misunderstand me. I like the idea of it. But it almost seemed like we were being trolled ;p
Which we did. Still took way to long to finally finish it. If one out of 3 orbs get screwed, you are all screwed. Rinse and Repeat and hope for the best.
I got disconnected. No way to rejoin my party once I re-opened the game. That need fixed. **** happens ya know? Only way to get me back with my party, was if they abandoned the Fractal and regrouped in LA.
20 people in one spot and can’t see? Then I guess you need to jump to that spot. Logic at it’s best. Just follow the crowd. After two jumps, maybe 4-5 people left. If you can’t last two jumps or so to thin the crowd out, then just give up now.
Took the group I did it with awhile (maybe a hour….). It did feel like luck when we finally got it. The boss was a total cake walk compared to the swamp.
A hour to do something that should take 1-min, plus 3-min boss fight.
Very disappointing. Count me as +1 who wasted some money on WP’s.
Took me maybe 30-min to get the hang of this one. Clock Tower took much longer to master. But yep, waiting on more folks to come fight this champion.
I have one 80. My ely. Maybe ~200 hours in. It is the only class I played in GW2. I have not even tried the others. The present is not so great for us. The future is not looking great either. So if you had to try another class, which would you choose?
Condition Damage ignores all armor. Might want to take that into consideration. As well as your play style. Do you like to just stand there or move around alot? If you move alot, I would go with some condition damage. Bleed em/Burn em, etc…
I wish I could give my male asura a race and sex change. Everything to me just look’s better on female human’s. I didn’t realize this to I nearly got to 80.
Thanks for the new vid’s.
They should just disable combat in that area. Of-course if they did that, I am sure it would be exploited some how (would be a great meeting area).
OK, will give it a few more hours tonight. Hopefully I don’t end up with nothing like the last couple of nights.
Edit: Just another thought. You get 1-2 badges per bag/kill if it drop’s correct? So that means the odds of me not having one badge after 30 kills must be really rare?
(edited by TerryLong.9561)
700/2800 = ~4 kills per badge. So still alot better then my 30 kills for 0 badges. Guess I will give the puzzle a try.
I just started playing WvW so please forgive my ignorance. I have maybe 30 kills and not one badge of honor. I have seen bags laying on the ground but never once got a badge of honor. You think I would at-least have one with 30 kills?
And why for the love of god are Badges of Honor not auto loot? It’s not very fun or convenient having to hit F mid battle. When there are ton’s of players around, you won’t even see that bag.
Some sound advice there Arc. Going to have to make those changes in my rotation as alot of that sure made sense. Cheers.
For anyone wondering, the normal rotation that Yin uses is the following. If I have it wrong feel free to correct me. (OK, I might of added a skill or 2 in there ;p) Typing this up actually helped me understand why certain skills were being used. So this is for my benefit as well as yours.
Open in Air (F3): Start with Ride the Lightning (4). This get’s you to your target quickly if it does not bug out. Then use Updraft (5) to knock the target down, which also sends them flying. So be alert to where they land. Updraft also gives you the benefit of 33% speed increase for 12 seconds. (If you can sneak skill (3) Shocking Aura in there, do it. As it will stun your opponent if they attack you in the next 5 seconds and grant you Elemental Shielding.
TLDR Version: F3: 4, 5, 3
Switch to Earth (F4): (Switching to earth will cripple and damage your opponent so make sure they are in range when you switch. Use Earthquake (4) to knock your target down again. Absolutely needed if your target is moving, so you can land your next attack, Churning Earth (5). Be sure not to move when casting it or the skill is canceled and put on cool down. Cast Ring of Earth (2) and Impale (1) which also have bleeding damage. (Churning Earth, Ring of Fire and Impale all have bleeding damage; in the order of most damage) If you want to change this up a little, you can cast Churning Earth last, and switch attunements while waiting for it to pop. (example being 4, 2, 1, and then 5). Downside to that is your opponent may be up by then and mobile. It will be tough getting Churning Earth off at that point.
TLDR Version: F4: 4, 5, 2, 1 or 4, 2, 1, 5)
Switch to Fire (F1): Open with Signet of Fire (7) and then start your Fire rotation with Ring of Fire (4). Next use Drake’s Breath (2) and finish with Fire Grab (5). Careful with Drake’s Breath as the target does need to be in front of you.
TLDR Version: F1: 7, 4, 2, 5
Switch to Water (F2) if you need some healz: A good time to switch to water is when your health is around 25%. You get Final Shielding which grants you a Arcane Shield for 3 seconds.. Cleansing Wave (5), Cone of Cold (2), Frozen Burst (3), and finally Frost Aura (4). Frost Aura also gives you Elemental Shielding for 3 seconds. Of-course you also have Utility Skill number #6 (Signet of Restoration), when ever you need it.
TLDR Version: F2: 5, 2, 3, 4
Target getting away? Use Teleport (9). In trouble or want to finish a target off? Use Mist Form (8).
TLDR Spam List: F3; 4, 5, 3, F4; 4, 2, 5, F1; 7, 4, 2, 5, F2; 5, 2, 3, 4 (Rinse and Repeat)

Ah I see. It comes up Rampager’s in the video, even though it’s Cleric. That’s what was confusing me. Thanks.
I understand transmuting for a new look. But the stats are different. Which is whats throwing me off.
I am trying to plan ahead for the armor. I can’t seem to figure out how to craft Winged level 80 gear with the stats you show in the video?
Searching around, all I see is level 67 Wing’ed gear, not 80. What am I doing wrong?
Example: If I search for Rampager’s Exalted Mantle (without the Wing’ed), yes that is level 80. But does not match the stats in your video’s.
http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/7729-rampagers-exalted-mantle
Rampager’s Exalted Mantle
Defense: 73
+24 Power
+34 Precision
+24 Condition Damage
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=D5OvTpSoAq0#t=70s
Rampager’s Wing’ed Mantle (basic stats from your video)
Defense: 73
+24 Power
+34 Healing Power
+24 Toughness
I have not even tried Wv3 or PvP yet. Just PvE for me (I am level 70). It looks like alot of fun (using your build). I might have to give it a try once I hit 80, and get enough coin for the gear.
That is not a glitch. Thats just lag.
Care sharing how much you spent on keys?
Yes, part of my enjoyment once I finally reached the top for the first time, was watching myself fail, others fail, them cursing the tower, me cursing to myself, wanting to break my spacebar button, etc… All that made it so much more rewarding.
And just think. Would it have been as fun, if the social aspect was somewhat stripped away? Many people want it as a solo instance.
