The thing that basically never got a content update was PvE. Or at least not in the sense of having a new map with new events & tasks. Ok we did get Southsun Cove, but that’s kind of a small map that I think many were never too happy with for several reasons. Besides it only has events and not very interesting ones at that. Most events in PvE whatsoever aren’t exactly worth going after. I always thought the most interesting to see would be new maps that includes tasks & events that you don’t need zergs to complete. There’s so many places in the world map that I would’ve expected to see new maps come out at. But maybe this sort of (real content) is reserved for any future expansions?
I just think it’s suspicious that we don’t have peer to peer trading where you both place items and agree to the transaction. Of course you can still be scammed this way but not that easily.. Anyway suspicious we don’t have that alongside the trading post. Because the trading post happens to tax 15% of all spendings. It seems like it was deliberately created to be a gold sink and peer to peer trading would allow for less gold to sink in the TP.
I thought it was actually more than in pve. which is kind of odd.
I suggest there to be just one type of tool. It is completely unnecessary to have different tools right now. The only reason I can think of is to have a bigger money sink for higher tier tools :/
The way it is now is just unnecessary. I end up being stuck with all types of tools because I don’t want to delete them. But I can’t use the copper/iron etc in the higher level areas. They’re not even account bound either so I can’t pass them to a lower level character of mine. It’s not like you can craft tools with materials or anything either. So why have seperate tools? Just make 1 tool – Pickaxe – Hatchet – Sickle. that’s it. And you can just make higher level nodes require a higher level to gather but with the same tool..
5,000 kills with some of these is a bit excessive, maybe even inane, but that’s not really a problem. There are some achievements that aren’t meant to be grinded away, just kept as a running total or passive long-term goal. As a fellow completionist, seeing that progess bar so low makes a part of me a little bit sad… but that doesn’t mean that it should be nerfed down or even actively grinded in the first place!
If there were any rewards for these achievements, it would be different – but completing them gives you no advantage, no title, no status, no cosmetics – nothing. That’s not to say that it’s not important, but there’s really no need to conciously try and complete the achievement.
Hey you get achievement points. And people who are completionists (there’s plenty) like to get it. But this one requires you to go out of your way to even have ONE kill added to it. I don’t think anyone is gonna max it in a lifetime if they aren’t trying to hunt it.
With all due respect I think arenanet just slapped these achievements on there without much thought. Just 5k for every weapon. And I think it deserves slightly more attention.
Is this just a personal thing, that you feel compelled to skill it up even when you don’t enjoy it
It’s not that. It’s just that I have 8 characters. And I wanna give each 1 crafting skill.
Friends list does show the profession of someone online. Mouse over their name to see it.
I agree with both being able to block guild invites and being able to report a guild. Some guilds have seriously inappropriate names and why should you report inappropriate player name but not guild names?
You don’t seem to understand my post. I’m talking about removing the discipline entirely, not replacing it.
I believe that this achievements are a long time goal and they’re not intended to be “hunted”. You’ll get them without even trying to just by following a certain playstyle.
They’re more like a way to acknowledge the time you’ve been playing with a certain weapon than something you should try to hard to get… In my opinion.
Untrue. Most of these “weapons” will hardly even get you kills at all. they honestly shouldn’t have been in the achievements at all. Like for example take the torch on ranger also inflicts burning. if the enemy dies from burning it doesnt count as a torch kill. Also all of these off hand items have long cooldowns so its really annoying. You COULD hunt critters with them and get it like that but like I said.. long cooldowns still make that annoying. You need to make the actual killing blow with the off hand skill (specific weapon) and it can’t be condition damage..
this seems totally imbalanced. Why do you need 5000 kills with torch warhorn shield and focus to complete them? It takes forever to get kills with these “weapons”. It should be more something like 100 or something if you wanna be sensible :/
I’m sure everyone that hunts achievements would agree with me here. these shouldn’t be treated the same as the other weapon master achievements.

I think we should be able to drop crafting disciplines and go back from 2 to 1 or 1 to 0. So that can we remove them if we don’t want 2 or 1 crafting disciplines on a specific character. Otherwise it just sits there in the guild roster being level 0. This is kind of a minor thing but shouldn’t cost too much work implementing right?
Ok well I guess they’ll fix it sooner or later.
This should be fixed by ANet, but here’s an explanation and a work-around.
Explanation: The glitch is probably caused by the change to a 9-mail limit from the original 10 (this was done to help reduce strain on the mail/authentication systems). The hint still reflects the original limit (10), even though the in-box is limited to 9 player-sent mail items.
Work-around:
- Clear out your inbox. (You can keep the system messages, but it is easier if you delete those, too.)
- Have a friend copy your account name so that they can spam your inbox without any delays.
- Have the friend send you 10 emails.
- Start deleting emails and have the friend start spamming, i.e. as rapidly as they can press “compose”, paste your name, and click send. This might take 10+ more emails.
- At some point, the hint should get marked “done.” This usually happened at about the +8 or +10 mark (i.e. 18 or 20 total emails).
This worked for two different guildies, but I haven’t tried it recently. Some of the steps might be overkill, but they are so easy that I think it’s worth going through the extra effort.
Good luck and please post if it doesn’t work or you can make this easier.
See if you read my post carefully you would’ve known that this isn’t the problem anymore. I simply had someone send me 10 mails and I have all the hints unlocked. It’s just the achievement now that’s broken. I have ALL 83 HINTS UNLOCKED but my achievement says 81 out of 82… :|
That’s not a bug. There’s a different achievement now. arenanet hasn’t disclosed what but everyone presumes it has to do with halloween.
Actually I just counted them all twice. And there’s actually 83 hints in the hints window total. And I have all of them. But the achievement says 81 out of 82.
This may be a minor bug, but it’s a bug and I figured nobody may know about it yet. I got all the 82 hints in the game but the achievement is stuck at 81/82 hints completed. Now a while ago I tried to get my mail box full with 10 mails and I didn’t get the hint telling you it’s full. That seemed to be broken. Yesterday it worked and I got the hint. Now I have a check at every hint category in the hints window, but the achievement isn’t working.
I think it should be account wide, so you can gather karma with multiple characters for 1 character (for example for a legendary weapon). This would prevent people from having to grind karma with 1 character (Which Arenanet doesn’t seem to want to have players doing) and would make getting karma more fun as you get to play with different characters more.
Why is it people who have never joined a guild, only been invited are considered "kicked" or "left"

I think this is quite a flaw. I don’t think someone who has only been invited to my guild should be considered “kicked” if I cancel the invite. Or if they decline that they “left” they were never in the guild. I think this should be fixed to avoid confusion. Either don’t show a message at all, or make it more accurate. As in declined invitation, or canceled invitation.
Did you consider the fact that the new players will accidentally disable it and then they will be completely lost in the game?
New players can fail in an unmeasureable number of ways. Does that really mean we should leave out things that people expect(at least I expected it) from a game?
I accidentally changed a member into a leader today. thankfully this guy was cool and changed himself back to member. He could’ve also just wreaked havoc and kicked everyone from the guild etc. You never know. Anyway I think it should at least give you a warning question if you change someone to leader “ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS. THIS IS IRREVERSIBLE ONLY THEY CAN REVERSE IT” something like that.
Oh does it? How does it affect it? Though that may be interesting I don’t see how this has anything to do with my suggestion.
I think we should be able to hide personal story quests from UI and minimap. I think most people spend a lot of time not doing these, and it just seems unusual to have to have it on your screen 100% of the time. Why is it like this? It seems literally the only way to have it go away is finish the entire storyline.
Wait, i skimmed this. you saying banning botters is a bad idea?
I’ve noticed in a big portion of the game scouts stop appearing on your minimap after you have talked to them or you’ve done the tasks they mention. However in some of the later maps they remain on your minimap even if you’re done there and spoken to them.
I think people should represent the guild they join automatically. Also if you make a new character you should automatically represent the same guild (or at least if you’re only in one guild you should automatically represent your only guild on a new character)

I miss that feature as well.
Also it would be nice to have something similar telling how long a player have represented his guild, that way it would be alot easier cleaning the roster of members that never represent the guild.
Yeah that’s a good idea.
Elite Skills should Complement Your Profession, Not Replace It!

I sort of agree with this. I was mostly bothered by the 2 “epic elites” the tier 2 elites for my Charr warrior. One of them is a transformation as OP described. The other is Charrzooka which also has long cooldown. So neither epics really interest me.

Not much unlike GW1 had. Though something like this might already be planned?
Ah ok well disregard this post then.
Whenever you put auto-attack on for example charrzooka’s first skill. It won’t remember it the next time you use that skill. Same goes for all other special weapons like that, and transformations. I suggest it does remember auto-attack was on. It would make peoples lives a lot easier.
3. I agree with. It should always remember the state. Even when you quit the game and start it up again in my opinion. This needs to be fixed allover the game. All of the tabs reopen as soon as you leave a tab/window.
Happens to me, too. Depressing when you’re fighting a really difficult, high health mob or you’re in a dungeon.
It doesn’t matter what elevation they’re at, for me. This was handled a lot better in GW1.
GW1 wasn’t an MMO. Because of how different this game is they implemented different rules. And how they may be annoying sometimes I think you’re just gonna have to play by the games rules.
I don’t know if it was intended this way. But I wanted to make sure that this is getting fixed. I find it really useful how things are categorized and you can close tabs. But whenever you move away from a page it’s opened up again. This make this feature pointless. I would imagine this doesn’t take long to fix.
I suggest to just leave tabs closed forever, even if I exit the game and come back the next time. Keep them closed until I open them again.
