Got our guild hall last night. And welcome to the new members that have joined so far <3

[MEAN] is opening up recruiting again on Darkhaven with the launch of Heart of Thorns. We’re a well-established zerg-busting/GvG guild that has been on Darkhaven since launch. MEAN has been a gaming community for even longer (10 years) and we have previously been the top PvP guild in games such as City of Heroes, Warhammer Online and ArcheAge.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for WvW players who want to be the best, because that’s what MEAN aims to be.

We prefer that members who join us already have fully-geared characters and experience on the battlefield, but with the launch of the new expansion, we’re also willing to take on new players and train/gear them for WvW.

While we don’t require 100% rep, we expect members to take pride in the fact that they’re in MEAN, and to rep us before any other guild when in WvW.

At this time, we are only looking for players who have mics and can use Teamspeak.

What can we offer you?

We are a fights-focused guild that raids almost every night and does multiple GvGs every week. MEAN has some of the most respected commanders and drivers on the server. We tend to run 15 or so on the battlefield every night, and usually have around 20-25 for reset.

With the launch of Heart of Thorns, we’ll also be setting up nights to farm the new raid content and quickly get our Guild Hall.

Finally, we’re willing to help members out with gear costs once they’ve established themselves as a reliable member of the guild (attending raids, GvGs, etc.). We’ve helped many of our members out with things like getting their Ascended armor.

Expectations

Zerg-busting can be a high pressure environment, so we’re looking for people who are willing to work hard, but who can also deal with losses and listen to criticism on how to get better. If you have a kittenty attitude and are not willing to listen, this is not the place for you.

MEAN also has a no grey text rule in WvW, aside from the customary fight initiations such as /bow. We don’t want our members laugh spamming or any other sort of behaviour that reflects poorly on the guild.

That aside, we have a pretty irreverent attitude. We joke around a lot. We play to win, but after we win, it’s time to pop our kodan tonics and have giant orgies.

Thanks for the bumps, friends. As you can see Darkhaven’s an active, social place. Server leadership is a group of players and guilds that have been here since launch, plus the new guilds that have joined us since.

After we bring in new guilds, we usually take a bit of a pause so everyone can get to know each other. Our recent transfers have been fitting in really well, so we’re hoping to bring in a few new guilds.

Darkhaven, a five-time award winning erotic roleplaying server, is looking for WvW guilds and commanders to transfer here and help us bring the fight to Tier 5 and soon, Tier 4.

What can such a server offer you, beside untold pleasures of the body? For starters, pound-for-pound, we boast more fight/GvG guilds than the other servers in T5, with four guilds right now that do OS/EoTM GvGs and scrims. We have a strong stable of commanders that work each timezone to keep us competitive. About half a dozen guilds have just transferred here in the past month to shore up our numbers. Oh and our roamers are top-notch.

With a strong foundation, we could use two or three more guilds here to help us secure top of T5 and work on gaining glicko to enter T4.

WHY COME HERE?
We have a clear goal of where we want to be and how to get there. Our commanders, fight guilds. PPT guilds, roamers and defenders are all working to reach that goal. We just need a few more hands to help us. Any guilds that come here wouldn’t be just another addition to the server, they’d be a core part of our push to reach T4. You get to feel the reward of working toward something and achieving it.

We have two Teamspeak servers for our players to use, a main one and a back up one in case either goes down. We have an active server website where you can list your guild and be part of community discussions.

COVERAGE:
Here’s an overview of our coverage and commander presence.

Commanders: If you like leading a militia, we have a strong EU/NA/OCX militia, and it is not unusual to see 40-50 people in a single Teamspeak channel when it is running. We’re looking for more commanders to lead our militia and take pressure off our current commanders.
NA timezone: We have a strong presence with competitive guilds in NA-prime, however have room for more, particularly those focused on PPT/Waypoint breaking.
OCX timezone: We have a good presence in early OCX, but could use more havoc guilds to keep pressure on enemy servers.
SEA timezone: We have a good presence in SEA, but most of it is from one guild. We could use more commanders and havoc groups to take pressure off them in this timezone.
EU: We have good militia presence in this timezone, and a couple of guilds now run in EU. We could use more commanders in this timezone though.

What can we offer you?

MEAN also has a strong line up of roamers and many of our drivers or class leaders will organize roaming parties in off-hours when we’re not raiding. We have a special relationship with SNKY, a well-respected roaming group on Darkhaven that acts as our pick team in GvGs and during reset and raid nights.

MEAN also GvGs weekly and accepts all GvG requests (even non-standard formats such as 5v5s or 20v20s). We try and rotate as many members as possible into matches, even those who have not GvG’d before, to ensure everyone gets training.

Finally, we help members with equipment costs to gear up new characters once they’ve proven themselves a core part of the guild.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Darkhaven’s first singles mingle night! We had some great eligible bachelors and bachelorettes introduce themselves on our server Teamspeak. Ghost Face Trilla was a fantastic emcee and his icebreaker rounds were very well received.

Anyway, whether you’re single and ready to mingle, or already in a happy relationship, you should join this server. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

We have a great match up this week with a lot of fights. Running a 10-ish man zerg busting group every night, but need a stronger frontline to make it even sexier. Hit us up if you like fights, want to run every night, and want to get into the GvG scene. (omg that oxford comma)

I played last night for the first time in six months.

Despite fumbling clumsily with my bindings like a high school freshman going at his first bra, MEAN carried me. I watched in awe from my near-constant down state as they coordinated big spikes and saved me time and time again. I would then try to type in “thanks guys!” only to be downed again by a nasty hammer train because I don’t have any situational awareness and now spam my dodges like a speed addict.

Sure, the MEAN guys called me a bad and a limpkitten, but they always got me a banner rez or a stomp. I’m so grateful they’re all so good. ;_;

Bump for DR. This is a server that went from the T8 ghetto, bottom of the bottom, to what I believe will soon be the best one of the best servers in silver. Shouts out to their community organizers too, people like Silent Rapture and Svid who are very down to earth, have a vision for the server and are actually making it a reality. Devona’s Rest will continue to climb and win because they’re stacked with amazingly talented guilds and really fun and determined people leading the charge. If you’re stuck and bored with WvW, you need to move now and be on this server.

Take it from a guy who isn’t even on DR, but has mad respect for them.

Have watched these guys evolve from an efficient havoc squad to an awesome zerg-busting guild that runs ops every night on Darkhaven. We fight alongside them a lot and you feel very confident when the TAG guys have your back. Fun guys, good attitude, CHECK THEM OUT.

Listen, if you play in OCX/SEA in silver or bronze league, you need to be in this guild. One of the best hands down working that time. Have seen them in action and this isn’t only karma training, these guys know how to fight/zerg bust and win. Join them and you won’t regret it. You’ll spend 100% of your time in a constant state of arousal.

LOVE THE BEAVER. Some of the best commanders on the server are in this guild. Take it from me, when BevR is out on the field, they give it their all and are an awesome force to fight beside. Hey everyone,

I Am Vindictive is a well-established guild on Darkhaven that takes a quality over quantity approach to gaming. We have been on the server since launch and have been a gaming community for nine years. We’re seeking mature players (we are an 18+ guild) who are looking to be part of a community where they won’t be just another number. Vindictive does not recruit in map chat and we only open up recruitment windows periodically to keep activity strong.

Our goal since the start of season two is to become the best WvW guild on Darkhaven and we run a zerg-busting unit of 10-15 players every night to train and better ourselves to achieve that goal. We also have regular dungeon runs, either to raise money (CoF, CoE, HoTW, AC, etc.) or to advance our members through Fractals (we do everything from Fractal level 1 for newcomers up to 50). We have all guild missions unlocked and run them every Wednesday. Most of our players are in North America and are most active during the afternoon and evening hours. We use Teamspeak to coordinate our guild events. You don’t have to have a microphone to be part of the guild, but Teamspeak is mandatory for all dungeons and WvW events.

What kind of players are we looking for?

All of us have lives: jobs to go to, anniversaries to celebrate, kids to take to school. We can’t all be on 12 hours a day. Thus, we’re looking for players who view this game as a place to log in and have fun.

At the same time, we understand no one’s going to enjoy themselves when they’re wiping in a dungeon over and over again. So while a laid back attitude is great, you should also be prepared to be serious and work hard when that’s needed. This is especially true if you want to be part of our WvW zerg-busting unit.

What can we offer you?

A very social community with an irreverent and not overly-serious attitude. Check out our forums to gain a sense of who we are. You’ll find they’re very active and that the people in this guild are not only gamers who happen to be playing the same game, but also friends.

In addition to a friendly, active community, we are also quick to help out new members, whether it’s getting gear, improving builds or getting better at PvP. If you’re looking to achieve something in this game, we’ll help you do it.

Quality versus quantity

This isn’t a zerg guild and we’re not aiming to make it one. We’ve had massive guilds (400+ players) in previous games that we played like Warhammer Online, Aion and City of Heroes. But we find tighter-knit works better.

Our guild also doesn’t spam recruit in /m to find our members and all players are interviewed before they join. It helps us make sure we’re getting like-minded people into the community.
