What size screen do you use

I have been using a 39" tv for the last year for a monitor and feel it is to large. I am looking to replace it with a smaller monitor/TV and wanted to see what some of you are using. I am thinking a 32" would be best but still not sure and I was hoping you would share your experience.

I would like to stay under $400 and below are some of the models I see for around that price range:
Lg 34 UM57-P
HP Envy 32
Most 1080 32 inch TV’s are much cheaper, and I was hoping some of you might have recommendations based on experience with Input Lag, screen clarity, does 120hz help, etc…

It’s been way to long since they pulled the light version off. Anet said they were going to offer a different skin. I really like this armor and would like the option to purchase it just like our counter parts heavy and medium armor classes.

I love feedback in zergs but it seems that it either pulls me in or applies a ton of damage back on me. I know range will help, but my guild likes to push into the groups. Any suggestions on how you deal with feedback when pushing into the zerg.

Here’s my guess. I am currently running this build, its good for large scale and not bad for small scale. You can shatter, you give them conditions with glamours and you have good weapon damage with a stack of 25 my power is over 2250.

Arrow Carts and the Outmanned Buff

No that would be too much .Outmanned should only enhance defensive positions and situations not give offensive abbilities aswell .Acs aleady have a 50 target cap wich is more than 5.
If u give increase the aoe cap on players a good 25 man raid will instagib 120 man blobs without even blinking.While beeing outmanned.

120 people times 5 max target= 600 potential hits
25 people times 15 max targets= 375 potential hits

Seems like the zerg still has the advantage, but at least the smaller group would have a fighting chance. I personally find siege wars boring, I want to kill and be killed by people using abilities. But everyone is free to have their own opinion.

I like the idea they should also increase the AOE cap for outmanned buff. Make AOE hit 10-15 targets if outmanned imo.

Yeah they need to fix this quick. I’m a mesmer and I am more upset about arrow carts than I am about confusion nerf if that tells you anything lol.

This is going to encourage people to avoid fights and only take undefended keeps and camps

I agree way over the top. Please fix fast I only play the game for WvW but not enjoying it tonight and I am on the losing realm which this was suppose to help Logged and hope they patch a fix tomorrow.

I noticed recently that I either have had a ton of bad luck or the chance of getting an exotic from 4 rares has changed. I have been playing with the forge for months and have had streaks of bad luck but it seems lately that the chance to get an exotic is a lot lower than it used to be. My thought is they reduced the chance to get exotics as a way to pull money out of the economy.
Anyone else notice a change, btw I am not referring to someone that played it once and got lucky I am looking for people that throw tons of items in it and their experience.

For example this week I have thrown over 100 rare weapons all lvl 76 plus and have received 2 cheap exotics

It seems that the two stronger servers seem to fight over the weaker realm a lot of times rather than fight over each others land. Maybe there should be a diminishing return system so the realm losing is worth reduced points. This would encourage the stronger realms to fight over each others land and stop the spread between the leader server and losing server. Right now my server is losing by over 50,000 and yet we have both enemies taking our keeps and ignoring each others been like this all week and last couple weeks.

Precursors and the forge

I was buying the cheapest level 76 and up rare weapons I could find and threw them in the forge. I know it’s random what I might get back but I usually got enough exotics that my loss was minimal since every flush I only had 80 silver invested and knew I would get at least an 80 rare back worth 25 silver. If the rare I got back was worth more than 30 silver I sell it and sold all exotics. Think I about broke even doing this got legend today off 3 tridents and a mace.

What is cheapest legendary to make?

I got a legend today in the forge and sold it and bought zap. However looking at the cost for the materials it will take me a while to be able to afford all the materials. I have about 300 gold but the charged lodestone alone would eat that up. Are there any legendary’s that are not as expensive as others? I know it’s a long term goal but not sure I want to spend 1000 gold on 1 weapon lol.

Well we run pugs with whoever is on since we all have different play times but I find that most the time we have a lot of dps, But not a lot of support. I would like a build that I can still zerg with if needed and kill stuff but not as squishy as the zerker build. We usually take camps and fight other roaming groups or zergs.

Just like title says, I currently run a phantasm build which does well in groups but feels a bit selfish and I feel their are probably better small man builds out there. I know there are a lot of builds posted but wanted to see if anyone had a specific build for small roaming groups. Thanks.

I have 25 AR and do fine in the dungeons but look at gw2lfg.com half the post say warrior/guardian/mesmer only or no ranger/ thief. When your class is listed as not wanted it doesn’t matter how much AR or skill, the groups don’t want your class. I know some people will say make your own groups or run same groups, but the point is every class should have a role and make them a desirable in dungeons not a place holder because they settled for your class. otherwise let me run the desired class and get the same rewards.

I am tired of lfg boards and groups not wanting a ranger and other classes as well. My ranger is level 31 my other toons are level 1. Let me run warrior or mesmer at 31 so I can find a group since all classes are apparently not equal!

Personal story reward should be a precursor

In my opinion finishing your personal story should be epic and the reward should be a soulbound or account bound precursor for the legendary. People would still be required to level up two crafting lines. And the people who leveled by crafting or WVW would have incentive to complete their story line. I have 3 level 80’s and only 1 did the story line because the current incentive is lack luster.

I have done about 10 dragons a and got 1 rare could you at least put enough silver and loot to pay for the port there? I killed this epic creature and I got this green drop worth 69c.

No other class using a range weapon has to switch thier traits to be able to fully use their dps on a keep wall. Why should I give up qz, sharpening stone or another ability to have the same dps every other class has? Does a warrior carrying a rifle have to go out of combat and switch traits to make his F1 abitlity work? If my pet has 900 range and the enemy is in range he should attack every time. Guard should be an option to put melee pets on wall but not the only option to use my pets. It’s not about knowing the class but class mechanics working correctly.

I run 25/20/20/0/5 build and use power/tough/vit gear for 4 pieces which gives me about 21k hp, I am at fotm 27. Best advice I would give make sure to switch weapons and pets to leverage damage and utility. I switch between every weapon, and different skills depending on group makeup and mobs were fighting. The only permanent spots on my bar is healing spring and usually QZ . Like others said maximize AR, I currently run with 25 AR. I find that I can hold my own in a group.

Why do range pets not attack from the walls? I can understand melee pets kinda, but birds and range pets should be able to assist with dps. It’s part of our class and makes no sense. Another option would be give us increased damage from heights to make up for loss dps with pets. Happens in FOTM as well, killing harpies and my pet just stands there and watches

I shouldn’t have to give up a place on bar for my pets to function properly.

How did you calculate this?
1% crit seems to be 1% crit for my ranger. Same for HP and other stats.

Seems like a weak troll. My ranger benefits from all stats that i equip and all theorycraft shows the same.

Now show how you calculated and tested your findings before making statements.
You will probably get more serious answers and better discussions in return.

Tested on heavy armor golem in mists used juvenile wolf killed twice with gear and twice naked. All 4 times took 18 attacks from the pet to kill. The non crit attacks with gear ranged from 647 – 710 all non crit attacks without gear ranged from 648-714. There is no increase in damage when wearing gear. You say 1% is 1% but if a warrior increases a hit of 1000 by 10% he now has 100 extra damage. Lets say the ranger damage does 700 from ranger 300 from pet, his 10% boost will only give a net of 70 extra damage.

Now how much damage does your pet do really determines on which pet you use so I stayed with the wolf killed the heavy golem with short bow while stacking bleeds and kept pet on passive took 20,19,and 21 shots to kill so an average of 20. Now using SB and starting pet from range took 15, 14 , 14 shots to kill about an average of 14.33 shots. now attacking with pet at target before shooting took 13, 13, and 14 shots and average of 14.33 shots. Which makes the wolf account for 33.33% of my damage or my stats only affecting 66.66% of my damage out put give or take .01%.

Now as someone else mentioned there has been new gear introduced I personally have karka shell earring, ascended back piece, and two fractal rings with much better stats than my exotic gear prior to these upgrades. My pet receives 0 benefits from of these stats widening the advantage for non pet classes.

Since the pet is such a large portion of our damage why are they not affected by our gear stats and consumables? No other class only get a 60% boost from stats and consumables yet a rangers pet does not benefit from gear and consumables. So if I decide to go high crit my pet should have the same chance to crit, if we boost toughness and vitality our pets should have higher survivability. If I have 20 agony resist my pet should have the same. As it stands right now we get diminished returns on the same investment. I hope Anet considers fixing this.

I think it’s more than fair. If I spend real money vs your in game money should it not have a reasonable value. I am not saying that in game currency is not hard to get and you did not spend time getting it. But my real life money definitely has more value to me than my gold on my toons

Pets and range problems (bug?)

I know there a lot of posts about pets but one specific issue I have a problem with is the fact that might pet won’t attack from keep walls and now in FOTM when I am shooting harpies (the jumping instance) my pet will only attack some times and not very often. Range does not seem to be the issue as I can be within range and my pet (devourer) just stands there even when I command it to attack. When defending a keep we lose a lot of our dps because our pets won’t attack? Why does are pet not attack enemies within range all the time?

My feedback is for WvWvW the only change I would like to see is rendering fix or make the re-stealth timer longer. 10 seconds to re-stealth would be fair if rendering can’t be fixed. It is very frustrating to have a thief get away almost every fight because of rendering/stealthing mechanics of the game. I take advantage of it on my 80 thief doesn’t make it right

Currently the trait gives you fury when your pets health reaches 25%. What if instead when your pet dies it gave a buff in damage of 20%-25% for 30 seconds or until a new pet is summoned. This would allow the ranger do make up for loss of damage from pet and not be overwhelming in the dps department. Some will say control pet better, but in dungeons and zerg fights there is no way to use the pet effectively without it dying to AOE.

If you don’t have the resources to fix things, then fix the things that matter. Also don’t nerf a class into the ground if you don’t have time to fix it. JP made statements almost a month ago then Anet strung us a long for a month and this is what you offer your ranger community. I refuse to spend any more money at your cash shop until you make some real changes, I hope all rangers do this because they only way to get real changes is to hit Anet where it counts there bottom line!

With the rendering problems and the amount of time a thief can stay in stealth, I think giving a class like the ranger a stealth detection as a skill or make a rune set and have it as a set ability would be very fair.

I would like to see titles and kill spam. It personalizes the game and adds a bit of excitement when you kill a well known name. Right now people seem to go after the players with the star in the name, it’s the same concept just not as good as titles or player names. Also downed state is horrible the bag should drop when they die not when spiked. As a ranger I can honestly say there is a serious imbalance when it comes to downed state skills. This is a great game and I hope they continue to improve it.

Is this for WVW or spvp for WVW I would highly recommend Rune of the centuar and the 20 second heal with warhorn for perma speed for group

(2): +15% Bleed Duration
(3): +50 Power
(4): +20% Swiftness Duration
(5): +90 Power
(6): When you use a heal skill you and all nearby allies gain swiftness for 10 seconds. (cooldown: 10s)

Rangers and dungeons

I have been doing dungeons for the first time this week and have found my pet dead about 75% of the time. This seriously diminishes my dps potential and my ability to fulfill my role effectively in a group. I hope anet considers a fix for this, in warhammer the whitelion could use the loner trait which allowed them to do 20% more damage when running without a pet. Any other thoughts or ideas on dungeon specs?

I use warhorn and the armor upgrades (10 sec of speed for group when I cast a heal) use the 20 sec heal and have perma group speed. I sacrifice a lot of dps for speed but like the utility it brings to the group. It just depends on your play style, If you want dps there are better options than the horn and by using 20 sec heal I lose the healing spring. It’s all about trade offs.

Took a couple of days to get debugging in on this. It is in fact a 40ms difference which equates to about 7% less damage when spamming 1. We made this change because it was creating some animation bugs to leave it where it was. It was also encouraging just spamming 1 which isn’t the most fun gameplay. If our data shows shortly that shortbow is now not effective we can certainly address that, but would do so by improving other skills on that weapon rather than by reintroducing the spam on 1 and the bugs that it was creating.

As many have said here before there are no other dps options with SB. So why would you make a change like this and say it’s a fun factor and do nothing about the other skills. This does not make me want to use my 3, 4,or 5 ability more.

I think when Jon said it’s not fun he was referring to the other classes, because now they can beat us much easier and are having a lot more fun doing it.
